.the destined couple.

cloud strife has long since been 'lost' to those of achak's teepee. having disappeared from the vicinity following the skinwalker attacks, it could only be assumed that he had otherwise returned home or had gone in search of something of great importance...

...cloud strife meets another soquili stallion who happens to suffer from similar issues to himself. it's not the most exciting or joyous of encounters, but it's comforting to find a kindred spirit...

.paramekia, death, others.

.hell hath no fury like an emperor scorned.

.paramekia.
    Hell truly couldn't compare to the fury of the Imperial Stallion as he thrust his legs through the long grasses. His limbs thrashed mercilessly against every obstacle that presented itself to him. It had been a very long time since the stallion had been in such a mood, his blood boiled and he was slowly but surely finding it significantly harder to express himself without exploding into a fit of rage.

    He was here. Of all the lands the accursed being had chosen to make residence upon, it was his territory. The Imperial stallion positively fumed and crossed the clearing at a rather relentless pace - in no time at all he would have reached the edge of the forest and yet...

    "Urgh." He gritted his teeth and came to a halt, the coin-like ornaments upon his head-piece clattering together in a rather tone deaf manner. It seemed nothing was going his way, not even his ornaments gave their usual chime. Everything pointed to him, everything was an omen.

    "You should be dead." He hissed under his breath.

.death.
    And as it was, Death floated above the male, whisping on the wind as she watched his movements. He was erratic as all she'd seen, moving around like he was incredibly mad at something she couldn't understand. If it weren't for his ornaments and clothing she'd have called him a normal Soquili, even cousin maybe, but Death wasn't sure about him. He was strange.

    Landing a few paces to his side, Death lifted her head and let her ebony mane and tail flow out to the side with the wind. They were standing at the edge of the forest, which had been the reason the mare had landed at all, she'd been flying for hours.

    "What should? You or those things you wear?" Death asked simply, her gentle gray eyes dancing as she asked. It wasn't a wise question, for all she knew he'd kill her.

.paramekia.
    Paramekia hadn't necessarily been aware of her presence, perhaps it had been unimportant at the time but fate always had a way of kicking him in the backside when he least desired it. It was therefore no surprise that he was forced to draw upon some of the last remaining reserves of his patience (which was not infinite) before flicking his black eyes towards the mare.

    A wind soquili, how ironic.

    Narrowing his eyes to mere slits, he took the opportunity to observe the avian hybrid for quite sometime. Had her questions been serious? If so, she was seriously testing this Imperial Stallion's, no, this Emperor's patience in a considerable manner.

    How dare she think that HE of all people should be dead!

    "With all due respect," His tone, nor his eyes indicated that he was being at all sincere about the words he spoke. "I do not believe that it is the place of an overgrown bird to meddle and pry into my affairs." Flashing a tight smile, the equine continued to watch the wind for some form of a reaction.

    ...Perhaps she was slow.

    "Do you?" He continued silkly, deliberating placing the question before her. He had his reasons, but should she answer him in the most inappropriate manner (or even in the wrong manner) then she would find that the damn holding back his rage would conveniently...break.

.death.
    "I'm hardly worried for the affairs of an 'emperor' dear. I'm worried about the words that come from the mouth of one that appears to be in emotional pain. It pains to see others in pain, that's the only reason I ask." Death said, her voice floated over the air to him in her same ghostly manner as always. It wasn't as if Death were anything like her name, just ghostly in manner like always.

    Taking him in quietly and watching his muzzle and entire body cautiously, the tiny mare blinked her gentle gray eyes and reclined all of her weight on one hind leg to gaze at him. He was very pretty... for a male, though she normally thought of them as handsom instead.

    "I don't mean to prod, but sometimes the ears and shoulder of a stranger are stronger than the army surrounding." She said quietly, "Though I do understand if the issues are bad enough. I only wish to help, you've seemed in pain."

.paramekia.
    She thought he was in pain? He was about to lift his brow to mock her, about to open his mouth to chastise and correct and yet something stopped him. In the instance she spoke those words his expression became stoic and the rage that bordered on boiling point slowly began to simmer and cool.

    It wasn't that she had silenced his fury, on the contrary it was very much present but she had helped to reroute it into what he would have considered a more 'constructive' outlet. He could use this, use her willingness to listen and her desire to lighten his burden. In fact, if it all went well then he could very well stand a chance of reflecting the bad luck the fates had thrust upon him.

    This could be good for him. Provided he did it right.

    Narrowing his eyes, the male (who was a rather good actor) feigned uncertainty as he continued to view the wind soquili. The flames of rage that had previously been his eyes dulled, extinguished by logical thought, but it wasn't as though she could read minds even if she had the most peculiar voice.

    "I fear that the burden I may bestow upon you would be far too great for you." He replied hesitantly at last, flicking his gaze across her form before shifting his weight onto another hoof. Much to his pleasure, his ornaments chimed with a more musical quality, as though the tension that had surrounded them had been lifted.

    "I could not take responsibility for your inability to fly under such a great weight..." He continued in the same tone, although he progressed no further as his only intention was to gauge her reaction to his words. She looked naive and had elements of naivity within her but he was not about to jump to conclusions just yet.

.death.
    I fly under the weight of a pain more than what many Soquili know, I have a doubt that the troubles of another would make me incapable of flight my cousin. I only wish to help you, though I'm not sure how long I'd be able to help if that anger boiled over unto myself."

    Death was fairly laid back, she wouldn't tolerate anger being thrown at her for no reason but she would listen to the rants of one that simply wished to be angry at her when they couldn't be angry at another. This she wouldn't stay for, she would only stay to help listen.

    Fluttering her wings on her back to aleviate some of the heat from her thin back, Death watched his expression with the mask of her ghostly presence, making sure that she didn't irritate him. She didn't want him to fly off the handle, but she didn't want to hurt him by making it seem like she wouldn't listen.

    "But first, my name is Death, it's a pleasure to meet you and I'm sorry we started off on the wrong hoof." Death said slowly, bowing her head to him gently.

.paramekia.
    A calculated risk perhaps, if anything it would give him a chance to practice and to iron out the creases in his story. The rage now subsiding, his mind was suitably more clear and his train of thought now became coherent again. It had only taken him a good hour, and had this mare not been prepared to leap into the flames then perhaps it would have lasted for a further few. He just had one problem though, she didn't sound like the talkative type, not something that would benefit him (if he was honest).

    "I am known as Paramekia." He reclined his head, the ornaments adorning his horns once again chiming as though introducing themselves as well. If anything, he hadn't taken her name into account until after he had absorbed it a few moments following her address.

    Death?

    He once again fixed his dark gaze upon the mare, perhaps it was an omen.

    "M'lady, I suppose I should begin with a warning. If you are seen conversing with me then you risk placing yourself in grave danger, the one i speak of sees everything. I can only attribute this to his rather extensive network of contacts." He glowered slightly for emphasis and shook his head, his expression becoming suitably and genuinely bitter - it did remain to be seen that the Emperor couldn' quite understand how the one he spoke of had found him in the first place!

    "Should he see you with me, he may believe you consort with me on grounds he does not approve of. Are you certain you would desire to have such a being pursuing you?"

.death.
    "Paramekia... I'll take your warning and belay it with the knowledge that I have no troubles in this world right now and no being pursuing me would ever weaken me. I'm safe for that's who I am." Death said gently, she trusted her life, her wings and her mate. She trusted that she would always be fine because no Soquili she'd ever met had ever spoken of death in their past or family aside from the one that she knew of.

    Blinking her gentle gray eyes and watching Paramekia' movements, the mare nodded her head and took two steps closer, so he wouldn't have to raise his voice quite as greatly to be able to get it to her ears.

    "So what troubles an emperor so that he runs in the forrest and speaks of things being dead that aren't?"

.paramekia.
    He wasn't entirely certain as to how she knew of his immediate status, perhaps he had let it slip in the period that he was a little irrational. Nevertheless, he allowed this small point to slide passed him for there was no point dwelling on things that would only cause him to become sidetracked - he had a job to do, and very little time to do it in.

    "I speak of the entity who forced me in to these lands to begin with." Paramekia cleared his throat and narrowed his eyes somewhat, his tone becoming cold as he recalled the 'events' that had transgressed during a period in his life that wa not so long ago as some might have expected. "While I was on a pilgrimage, I encountered one of your kind but I must confess m'lady...that he was by no means as approachable as you." Pulling himself to his full height, he regarded the mare in what could only be described as a critical manner. He had never truly appreciated 'exotic' soquili with their wings and horns but now he could use this encounter to explain his hostility towards them.

    "He was from a hostile herd, one that did not appreciate my existance and one that was set on my rather untimely end." Grimacing, he canted his head to the side and released a side. The memories of that day were not as clear as he would have liked them to be, but images of a battle between the stallion and himself were there - he could remember being blinded by colour.

    "They had made numerous attempts before, but it was on this day as I stood atop the mountain slopes; a rather vulnerable place for one without wings, that he made his presence known. He had one purpose, he was to dispatch of me at all costs regardless of the impact it may have on the lives of those within my herd or more importantly...to my family."

    Ah yes, his mother...If only they this mare could know of the truth, he wouldn't let her though, that would ruin everything.

    "We had numerous battles, each time I thwarted him and each time he found me once more. His skills as a hunter are beyond comparison, his connections meticulous and it was only after a final encounter not long ago that I was forced to act in a much more final way." A 'guilty' expression appeared on his handsome features and he lowered his head slightly. He was not one who thrived on looking ashamed, it was below his station but he would cast i aside provided it benefited him now.

    "In our last meeting I rammed him against a cliff side, the horns that adorn my head caused substantial damage to him and I was certain I had left him for dead." Again, he hesitated and slowly turned his head towards the slopes as though expectantly waiting for the being to appear but alas he didn't.

    "I couldn't return to my herd, what I had done was beyond dishonourable but despite this it seems I did not hit him hard enough and I fear that he may plague me once again. You must understand, M'lady...I cannot lose another home and another family, not again."

.death.
    No emotion wafted over Death's face, her expression as stoic as it had been the day she'd taken her name. The wind blew the ankh around her neck and made it bang against her chest lightly over and over as she stood and stared at the ground. His words rang through her head as she stood and thought of what to say or how to respond. How did one respond to the statement that a wind cousin of their own had attacked someone that seemed to be nothing but kind, or at the very least appeared so.

    She took it on good faith that he wasn't evil and that the other Soquili was in fact the antagonist in this case.

    "No you shouldn't blame yourself in this case. Had it truely been that he's been plauging your existance in this manner than what you did was a simple act of defense and he doesn't deserve the anger you have towards yourself right now." Death finally responded, her gray eyes blinking once more and watching his expressions as she kept hers stoic again. "However... It doesn't seem as if it would be normal for a stallion to be able to track you and have connections if he were a simple stallion sent to dispatch. There has to be another station that he has, not simply a hired body guard."

    "However your family is one you should keep safe... one you should keep an eye on and be wary of at the same time." Her thoughts drifted to Khairi faintly and a sad but loving look crossed her ghostly muzzle for a moment.

.paramekia.
    "I have no need to worry about my family, I will protect the one I love with my life should he be so lucky as to locate her." His tone was sharp and his eyes glittered with a silent but sworn oath. He only had one love, granted he had once hada harem but now it was true that only one mare held his heart. Under no circumstances would he allow her to be taken advantage of, in fact, he would do more than kill anyone who tried to - he would mutilate their corpses as well.

    "It is my friends I worry for the most." He glowered and considered this carefully. He had to admit he had quite a few 'enemies' but not enemies who would deliberately harm him, they simply disliked him. However, there were a rare few that did catch his interest, a rare few that benefitted him and should they find out the truth of the matter...

    "I cannot be there to track and guard them all, and some are so headstrong as to ignore my warnings." He lifted his gaze to take in the mare's almost saddened expression, apparently his mention of 'family' had hit a weak spot and she related to him in some form. Good, it just made things easier.

    "You have no idea how painful it is, how much it hurts the soul to tell a friend to avoid you as you fear for their lives." He murmured gently and shook his head.

    "M'lady, I know it is much to ask...but do you not know of anyway to appeal to the better nature of your own kind?"

.death.

    "I do know how much it hurts to tell one that... I've told one that before only to lose them in the worst of all ways." Her eyes turned far away and the little mare sighed deeply.

    Taking him in, from his far away eyes to his dark expression to his confusion and head shaking, Death could almost tell that he was a kind Soquili. She still wasn't sure, but she took it at face value and word value.

    "Appeal to the better nature of my kind? I'm afraid I don't understand, you see, not only is my mate a stallion with no wings, but many of my friends are wingless as well. I have a handfull of wind friends but none are as wicked to attack a stallion that was on a pilgrimage." Death looked away for a moment and fluttered her wings again, her tail swishing as she thought.

    "I couldn't tell you what to do other than to go to the stallion of the herd and ask for a sort of... sanctuary... I suppose? You worry for your friends yet you're an emperor... use your diplomacy to help you in times of trial. That's what my mother once told me."

|| Babies Born ||
Nagual wanted to go, she insisted. And, despite her incredibly swollen belly she still wanted to do something. Sanika eventually relented, only under the conditions that she went with. The small woman had already gone to the Kawani Village and learned as much as she could about the unique birthings of the soquili. She also knew that Nagual was due any day now, for the foal(s) in her belly had already dropped. On her back she wore a pack that had some baskets in it and other things. She was prepared.

Kislin rode wrapped around the human's shoulder instead of on poor Nagual. The two of them followed closely but far enough to give the mare freedom.

She walked around, having problems with her blurry eyes and snotted up nose. Her mane still hung down in greasy clumps. In short, Nagual was a mess, even though Sanika had groomed her that morning. She grumbled to herself as they went. Even though Nagual didn't have a place in mind, she still ended up making it to Yei's teepee - though, she didn't know it was Yei's at the time. The mare just stood in shock at it, where had this come from?

Sanika was not so surprised, she stood by Nagual but called out.

Nagual flinched at the sound, her ears more sensitive. The mare swayed on her feet in pain as her stomach rolled.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 27, 2007 10:13 am

Since the moment they had entered the land surrounding the teepee, they had been under close watch of not one soquili, but two. Neither of them was the mare that the younger, pregnant mare sought but both were aware of where Yei Umeko was currently. For the most part, the two guarding the teepee had chosen not to intervene as they sensed very little threat from the human and the mare but now...

"Venom!" Grencia called out across the skyline towards the kalona who was circling above the mare in a somewhat frenzied manner - if anything, it only served to alert Grencia to how far along the young mare was, Venom could smell blood. "Venom!" The wind stallion repeated in sterner tones as he cut across the clouds towards the Kalona and unceremoniously shone light into his eyes (well, metallic wings did have their uses).

"What!" The kalona snapped out of his frenzy briefly and shifted his eyes towards the wind stallion. Unlike the majority of his kind, he didn't complete abhorr the wind, GRencia did after all have his uses...

"Locate Yei, I believe she may know of this one." The wind ordered, his tone one that was not one to be argued with - the kalona agreed and swooped left in a wide arch towards another area of the mountains.. This left Grencia with enough time to spiral in a descent from the clouds towards the surface, he just needed to make sure...

~~~****~~~
Meanwhile, on the ground things were considerably less organised. There was very little indication that there were any signs of life within the teepee until Sanika made hre presence known. It was then that there was a rather loud clatter of ceramic pots and a tall and somewhat bedraggled man barrelled out.
His eyes weren't particularly wild, he just seemed to be reasonably shocked that something human had stumbled on his home and it was hardly what one would describe as organised.
"I... Can I help you?" He enquired uncertainly, only flicking his gaze upwards briefly as the wind soquili descended at a rather rapid speed towards the ground and then abruptly billowed and extended his wings enough to come to an immediate halt.
Remaining suspended in the air for a few seconds, the wind seemed to assess each two legger and then the mare in question before at last dropping to the ground.
~~~***~~~

"Umeko!" Venom hissed as he bolted down from the clouds and literally 'thumped' against the surface of the mountain in front of the mare. She was easy to spot, being the large red blot in a field of white and thus he hadn't struggled to find her, but now [ii]expressing himself would be the problem.

"Yes, Venom?" Yei's steely gaze moved round slowly to observe the kalona and she raised a brow briefly. According to that twinkle in his eye, that gleam of hunger...he had obviously seen something, but had he actually ignored it?

"You are wanted." Venom cut out, struggling to form the words on his rather long and snake-like tongue, "Visitors. Teepee." The kalona continued and shook his head, "One is very...spotty?" He added uncertainly and furrowed his brow. To be entirely honest he had been more intrigued by the scent of the female, something seemed almost wrong with her - he didn't realise that she was pregnant.

"Spotty." She repeated dubiously, briefly skimming her mind before recognition flashed in her mind, "Oh my, was she alright?" Yei chirped as she regained her composure and 'bounced' through the deep snow towards the demonic soquili.

"No, she smelled peculiar." He responded and before he could elaborate, she was already well on her way back.

Sanika smirked when she heard the pot clatter. In the back of her mind it reminded her one of the priestess's family who came from a potter. She didn't have much time to reminensce. "Uh, I believe so...." The woman paused, trying to gather the thoughts and ideas Nagual had given her in their dreams.

Nagual was preoccupied with the wind, however. She cowered when he braked in the air, the eddy currents felt like they were attacking her, and they hurt! The mare tried to get as small as she could behind Sanika, as is the human could protect her. It was then that the light reflected off his wings, and that perhaps hurt more as the sight pierced through her crusty and watery eyes. Nagual dropped her head, allowing the clumpy mane to cover her eyes and protect her from the light. Grumbling something, the mare moved her head directly to Sanika's back.

Kislin watched. He didn't recognize the wind or the human. For now, he'd be quiet.

At the touch of Nagual's head to her back, Sanika spoked again. "We are looking for...." Her brows furrowed in thought. Usually, Nagual had clear dreams, but ever since her pregnancy started to show they were muddled. "Yay? Yee? Yei?" The woman shook her head, "I'm sorry, she hasn't been very clear-minded ever since... well..." Sanika sent a glance back to Nagual. If these two couldn't tell that the mare was pregnant, well, then they had bigger issues.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 27, 2007 10:39 am

"Yay? Yee? Yei?"

Achak forced back the urge to smile as the woman attempted to pronounce the name of his companion. In all honest truth, he already had a suspicion that they were searching for the fiery mare - most visitors always seemed to want to find her. And so, folding his arms across his chest, he cast a glance briefly towards Nagual and then returned his gaze to Sanika.

"Her name is Yei." He offered mildly, giving a light shrug as he began to approach the trio and then, abruptly took a side step. He knew it was sudden, but he needed to have a look at the female who appeared to be a little worse for wears - all in all, the size of that belly indicated she was definately carrying more than one foal.

...And she didn't seem healthy, almost depressed.

"I am unaware of her where abouts -" He was interrupted by a whicker from Grencia and he glanced towards the wind who shook his mighty head and folded his wings, "But it seems that he is." He mused while furrowing his brow. Seemingly unused to the company of humans he wasn't the most well practiced in social skills and could only lift a hand to brush the hair from his eyes.

He should have listened to his mother.

Nevertheless, before the silence became too deafening he heard the tell tale 'thump' of the mare's hooves upon the slopes and shifted his head so that he could catch sight of her. Whoever the wind had sent, had caused Yei to panic and she was moving towards them at what could only be described as 'break neck' speed.

As Achak moved out of the way, Yei slammed her rear hooves into the ground and dug them in. She had judged the moment well though, and with a grunt of effort she was able to skid across the sheltered slope and came to a halt a slight distance away - granted, she was a tad splayed legged and Grencia was looking at her in the oddest manner but she was alive

"Whazzabee?!" She whickered as she regained her footing and swung round, her mane flopping untidely over her eyes while she finally caught sight of Nagual. Now, if the silence hadn't been deafening before, it should have been now - for the mare's eyes widened and she was completely at a loss for words.

Pregnant?

"N-nagual?" She enquired uncertainly, her expression clouding with worry as she took note of the state her 'sister' was in. She even chose ignore both Grencia and Venom as the kalona landed beside the wind and stared about somewhat dubiously.

Sanika became really defensive at the man's inspection. She didn't appreciate her spirit animal to be looked at in such a way, and she wasn't about to hide her disapproval either. Her stance, as well as her expression, proved that. "Yei, then." The woman turned back to the man with her arms crossed as he spoke about this 'Yei's' location.

Nagual wasn't sure what exactly was going on. Of course, she understood the human's language, but her ears were clogged. So, to pass the time, she swayed on her feet. Her head pressed to Sanika's side -now that the woman had turned- seemed to help with her balance.

At the sound of hooves, Sanika turned again, and Nagual almost crashed to the ground. Her eyes widened slightly at the brightness of the mare who seemed to have risked her own life to get here so quickly. Evidentally, someone had told her something was going on. Her expression turned to gladness as she bowed a respectful head to Yei. From her dreams, she knew the mare and how Nagual looked up to her.

Nagual's ears twitched at the sound of her name. As done before, the origin was unfamiliar for awhile. Literally, her face contemplated who it belonged to, but when she remembered, the mare lifted her head high and nickered back to her friend and mentor in welcome in relief. The sound was gurgled unhealthily.

The motion completely unbalanced the mare -who usually held her head down to keep her center-of-gravity low in these trying times. Nagual swayed horrible, and then fell to her knees. Sanika was quick, immediately, she put all her weight onto the mare to keep her at least partially up. It was what the mare needed, and Nagual struggled back to her feet and then leaned on Sanika for support.

Yei really did not need an audience right now, but she saw little point in ordering Grencia and Venom to leave when she was aware that both would simply take flight and watch from above. Similarly, she wasn't capable of dismissing Achak, but she had a suspicion that he human companion would prove to be of use - he had afterall, saved her life when she was younger.

"What happened?" The mare enquired breathlessly as she slipped towards the young mare and nuzzled at her delicately. Unlike some of the mares Yei had seen, she didn't appear to be coping at all well with her pregnancy.

It was strange for Yei, as she had always wanted foals and the opportunity to love and care for them. The very thought of being pregnant excited her but evidently the same couldn't be said for Nagual - she seemed positively miserable and Yei couldn't help but wondered exactly what had happened. Had someone hurt her? Had they...

She paled beneath her red coat and shook her head to rid herself of the thoughts, as though the prospect of what ran through her mind was blood curdling.

"Support her." She ordered breathlessly, her eyes almost pleading as she turned to look at the two stallions, both of which stared back at her increduously. "Please." She added and returned her attention to Nagual, offering another tentative nuzzle. "Nagual?"

The stallions had little choice but to do as they were told the moment the 'puppy dog' eyes appeared and with a disgruntled sigh from Grencia and a confused grunt from Venom, both stallions approached the mare cautiously. Gren adopted a position near Sanika and pressed his head against the mare's side, while Venom adopted a position on the other side and performed the same movement - if anything...They were acting as stabilisers.

"How far along is she?" Achak broke in between the whickers of the soquili and glanced at Sanika's back. His eyes fell on the baskets and he shook hsi head somewhat, "I think perhaps you may wish to release those as well..." He added and motioned to the area just outside his teepee that was clear.

It seemed he had chosen to ignore one of the hisses from the Kalona, who seemed to be struggling with his own nature at that precise moment in time.

Nagual took a deep breath, "I ate some really bad berries..... I don't know why they would betray me so...." The mare had no idea what had happened or what was happening now. She didn't even realize how far they had walked that day, not that she had sought out Yei. But the bright red mare's arrival was more of a pleasant surprise. The mare tried to nuzzle Yei back, but it ended up being more of a light head-butt. She simply didn't have the strength anymore to lift her head much higher.

Nagual was unsure, to say the least, of the two approaching stallions. To her, they appeared as night and day, between the bright one and the dark one. When they each got to one side, she lurched away from the dark one. His touch made her slightly naseaus, but she needed him if she hoped to stand. So, so improvised. Most of her weight leaned onto the bright one, who seemed to have a more comforting and reassuring feel. And that was when the touch of her human left. Her ears perked and her glazed look watched the retreating figure.

Sanika was reluctant to let stallions approach, and even more so to allow them to support the mare even though it was obvious she could not do it herself. Finally, she relented and walked away slowly. The woman ran a hand through Nagual's mane with tenderness. Then, she was completely away and turned to the clearing that the man directed her to.

"She's due any time now," Sanika said with worry dripping from her voice. "Actually, she's late, if the Kawani told me true about the soquili pregnancy cycles."

Kislin bounced off Sanika as the woman went to the clearing with her burden and bent to unpack the baskets and other supplies she brought. He bounded to Yei, where he lithely jumped to her back and climbed up her neck and clung to her mane. "She doesn't know," he said to the mare quietly. Even though he had never met Yei before, he knew who she was and that she could be trusted. "As she said, she believes it was berries... but I know, as does the two-legger, what could really cause this. We only have our suspicions; but we may find out soon the confirmations of who, at least."

Nagual took a step forward, to try and make it back to the human who really was the other half of her soul.
