Aruna's legs ached with pain due to having her stomach grow to great lengths as it was now. How many foals was she carrying anyway? Huffing as sweat swam down her body, she looked around for water, feeling a lot hotter than she normally should have. Finding no water, she lay down, eyes closed as she tried to regain her breath. Why was she even giving the effort of keeping her body in shape? She could barely move, and her foals constantly kicked and moved, making it harder and harder to keep consciousness sometimes. She was actually out searching for the father of the foals, to tell him himself that he was a father. After all, the father didn't know he was a father... to begin with, she left him after their exciting little "tryst", and she knew he wouldn't remember... unless, of course, she told him, and she was terrified of letting him know, really... and, dammit, but she was in major pain...

Most stallions would clearly deem him mad. It was not so much that he had an extravagant appearance, on the contrary, this had proved to be advantageous on many occasions but it was more in regards to how he viewed life and the situations at hand. Ah yes, he would sooner have his feathers plucked than admit it - but he was a family man at heart and as a result, he was not in the slightest bit satisfied with bachelorhood.

Alright, so he rather enjoyed seducing the mares when he was younger, but now that he had matured he found it to be rather lacking in taste. If anything, the mere thought of seducing a mare made him shudder, he had no qualms with the female form ( in fact it was quite delicious) but he couldn't comprehend the cowardice in the stallions who fled after having their way.

...Which seemed to be rather common here.

Releasing a snort, the wind stallion continued to pick his way along the forest edge, his ears flicking back and forth in a rather robotic manner. In fact, it was how he usually passed his time; drifting from one area to another in a state of semi-conciousness and yet he was, rather surprisingly, very quick to react in desperate situations.

Perhaps it was therefore no surprise that he soon came to an abrupt halt when he heard the strained huffs. His brow furrowed softly and for a time he simply remained on the spot as he attempted to discern exactly what the sound was. To say the least, he was not familiar with anything that 'huffed'...but it sounded rather painful.

Shifting his weight (along with a ruffle of his feathers) the wind considered his options briefly before shifting slightly and altering his direction to move towards the sound. If it was as pained as it sounded, then he rather suspected something might require his assistance and he was not one to turn his back on anyone...

She wasn't giving birth as of yet, but she knew it was going to be soon. At the moment, it was only spasms of pain that kept her from doing what she desperately needed to do: inform her family, friends, and a certain stallion about her pregnancy. It was a nasty thing, in it's own right, but she also felt priveledged... that kind of thought probably came from living with her father, who enjoyed foals more than anything else in the world, besides his mate and, of course, his own offspring. Hania had seemed much more cheerful as of late and therefore Aruna was saving her father for last before he knew of this news. Another blast of agony had her breathing hard to keep from screaming; instead, she made a sound similar to a hiss, her whole body sweating profusely now that she was wishing she could just faint and not have to go through this ordeal. She was a tough, witty mare but sometimes even she knew she couldn't always appear that way, although she was still the same, through and through. Why did Rahu have to be so hard to find?

Whatever the creature was, it was definately in pain. The stallion's pace quickened considerably and with the softest of snorts he lifted his hooves high enough to move over many of the small obstacles awaiting himm. Admittedly, he could be overreacting and if he was entirely honest, playing the 'hero' had never been his thing but he would never forgive himself if he did find out that something had needed him.

HISS!

The sharp release of air made his brow furrow much more deeply and with another small snort he broke his way through the remaining foliage and stepped out into the slight clearing. It was then his eyes fell on the mare, a very pregnant mare at that - a heavily pregnant mare.

Oh dear.

Casting his rather apprehensive thoughts aside the stallion took the opportunity to observe the mare more closely. At first glance she had seemed alright but on closer inspection... No, she was far from alright, she looked positively exhausted.

"Are you in need of assistance?" He asked softly, his tone level and unassuming as he made certain he was in clear sight as opposed to the shadows. Better not to startle her, she might hurt herself.

She nearly snapped out at the "intruder", but relaxed when she realized the newcomer meant no harm. Being slightly delirious from the pain, all she could really whisper was...

    "...Water..."

...before she half-fainted, but luckily she was still fighting to keep consciousness as she tried to make out the blurry image of the newcomer. Gasping, she struggled to stand, but it was all she could do before she collapsed again.

She knew she wasn't in labor, but the pain... the constant kicking, and the swell, and having to move... finding the father was harder than she'd imagined... and her thoughts continued to bounce around randomly, as she wasn't very focused.

...Geez, she wondered deep within, being pregnant was a pain...

    ...Literally.

Water?

His ears flattened against the back of his head, not necessarily out of fear but more out of worry. He had seen plenty of pregnant females in his time, but the young mare seemed to be struggling more than those mares. He didn't even doubt that she was healthy, on the contrary she looked surprisingly strong but she just didn't seem...

"Come." In a split second decision, the stallion moved swiftly forward and nuzzled the mare gently in encouragement. He had a plan, in so far as to say, that when she next struggled to her feet...he would use his entire bulk to hold her up if necessary.

"I cannot bring the water to you, I am no miracle worker." He explained softly into her ear, his whickers tickling at her cheek somewhat teasingly (although it was unintentional), "But I can ensure that you reach it, provided that you try to stand once more." He continued, falling silent as he gazed along her wearied form. He was surprisingly tall for a wind stallion, capable of supporting her weight but...

Well, would he really trust a stranger? Afterall, he did look rather odd and the spirits forbid, there were a few dangerous soquili that looked "odd".

She gasped, and nodded, her struggle to stand extremely obvious as within her mind she wondered where her mate was. He'd probably gone to check their surroundings in case there were predators, but that still left her vulnerable... but no matter.

There was a stallion here, and he had just offered help. "Thank... you..." she gasped out, and then merely concentrated on staying awake. She wasn't sure, but she definitely trusted this stallion. He was willing to help her out, and she wasn't one to refuse help when she really needed it.

Grencia grimaced as he very slowly extended his wind and lowered it ever so slightly to 'cup' under her stomach. He didn't apply a great deal of pressure as his wing couldn't possibly support her full weight but he hoped it's presence (and warmth) would provide her with a little encouragement - or at least enough to coax her into walking towards the river.

He hadn't landed long ago and so, he could recall where the river was...being able to fly tended to have it's advantages on occaisons to say the least.

"It is not far, m'lady." He murmured quietly as he matched her stride (which was rather slow) and fixed his gaze ahead. There was a part of him that sincerely hoped whomever he chose to mate with would never encounter so much pain...pregnancy was supposed to be a good thing, was it not?

"You simply need to push yourself, just a little."

She knew she was extremely slow; it bothered even her over how weak she really was. She did not yet know this helpful stranger's name, but after she had gotten her fill of much needed water, she was going to ask and thank him properly. She felt slightly better--slightly--when he was helping her, and oddly, he felt much warmer than the usual stallion, but that could probably be yet another reason behind her pregnancy, and she could only huff in annoyance.

It wasn't that she wasn't thrilled at the idea of having children, but pregnancy was painful. Well, she silently mused as she concentrated on following her guide, at least it wasn't emotional pain, aside from the mood swings. As long as it wasn't far... of course, every step she took it felt like it would take her eternity before she found relief. The pain from earlier was fading now, but she knew it would still be there...

"...R-Right..." she huffed, determination setting in. Get to that water. Right. Get to the water...

And it wasn't that far at all. Admittedly, Grencia was not a being who excelled at navigating while on the ground, but he had at least recalled a reasonable number of details to be able to find what he was looking for. However, into his walk he had initially assumed that he would be lost within minutes - much to his surprise, he didn't encounter anything that would indicate as such...rather, lady luck seemed to be smiling on him this afternoon and he took note of the faint trickle of water.

"Nearly there." He assured her in a soft voice, his tone quiet and unimposing as he tried his best not to apply too much of his own weight against her (although he was afraid she might fall again). "Then you can have your water -" He trailed into silence after this, focusing solely on the sound until at last, the glistening liquid came in to view.

"You see?" He offered warmly and nudged her neck tentatively, although his expression was thoughtful. "Perhaps you would like something to eat as well, berries mayhaps?"
