Finding the Perfect SpotWord Count: 483 Miss Roxanne had insisted on paying for their date coming up on Friday. Her gratitude was a logical reason to allow her to pay for it, but it still felt absolutely against his values to allow such. There were various ways he could go about the whole ordeal. He could flat out ignore her request and pay his way, but the Page imagined that would rub the girl the wrong way. The last thing he needed to do was start off a date, no matter how accidental, in a manner that would upset his companion.
Instead, he had decided that he needed to minimize the amount that the girl spent on him by finding other activities that were not as influenced by money. It was not that he was trying to impress Miss Roxanne, who essentially was just a cute stranger to him. He had not even gotten a last name for her.
Despite how this date was not something he was taking truly serious, he was still considerate enough to not blow it off completely. Though he was in his powered form, Nysa did not have any intentions of patrolling today. His lithe form could be seen, hopping from rooftop to rooftop across the city. Every so often, he'd pause towards the edge of the buildings and look about the scenery.
His eyes scanned the area in a nearly critical manner. He was trying to take in all of the landmarks, looking towards the horizon and judging what features were present. Several areas were way too congested with horrid obstructions. Nysa couldn't say it wasn't expected, seeing as they were in a city. At times he wished that he was in the country, where the landscapes were gorgeous. Alas, he had to work with what he had, and Destiny City was what he was stuck with.
Eventually he began to find a few places that seemed like good candidates for what he was looking for. One spot overlooked the park, another overlooked a decorative tourist garden, and one was just decent clearing near the library. If anything, he had to confess silently that the tourist garden was tugging at his heart strings. With Spring arriving, it would mean that the garden would also be in full bloom, and Nysa did rather enjoy flowers, even from such a distance.
"I think this will do..." he uttered to himself before he rather sharply turned in another direction altogether.
He was still getting quite used to the whole sensing auras in the city, but if he was getting this correctly, there was a dark aura nearby. If he were to guess, it was probably a youma. It wasn't nearly as strong as some other auras he had encountered before. It was close though.
"...hopefully nobody is in the area..." With that, the Page bound off, skipping over the edges of buildings with ease and grace.

Vacation can take a Vacation...Word Count: 530 Howl had managed to endure the suffering of Hillworth for three years. Though he had been able to work within the rules for the most part, there had been little to no freedom in his life, making it feel as if he had been a prisoner for all that time. Of course, now that he had graduated, the lad was free.
Typically, he would have celebrated, but soon enough he found himself unable to celebrate in the typical fashion he would have during the summer.
He no longer had to worry about cell phones getting confiscated in his everyday life, so now he stood in the condo his parents had paid for speaking with one of the two mentioned parents.
"I apologize for the short notice, Mother.... I know Grandmother was looking forward to seeing me.... I will write her a letter apologizing for the inconvenience...."
He crossed his hand over the crook of his other arm and stood in place, politely listening to all of the complaints on the other side of the phone. He could have paced, but that would have just made him seem nervous, something which he was not truly feeling at the moment.
"You know quite well I cannot make demands for a month of vacation time when I have just started up a new job. It is crucial that I get trained properly."
It had actually been a miracle that Maize Maizier had kept his resume as long as they had, but apparently the fact he had an accent had made him quite an asset in their particular little cafe. With all of the international themes that changed on a daily basis, it made sense for them to have some sort of bias towards someone who had a foreign accent. It was one of those times where an employer's bias had actually worked to his advantage.
"I will see if I can get the time off at the end of the summer. I cannot request a month, but perhaps a week.... please tell Grandmother that I send all my love.... I will talk to you later. Good night, Mother."
He hung up the phone and stood in place for a while. He had been speaking only truth to his mother just now, but all he had said was not the only thing on his mind. It had been a hard decision to make, even before he had ensured himself a job at Maize Maizier.
Howl was now the Page of Nysa. He was a protector of Earth, and now that he was out of school, he was able to take on more responsibilities. He would be able to patrol more often and ensure that the Negaverse, or those bizarre chaos-inflicted senshi did not harm the people of the city. Youma were an ever present threat.
For Howl to leave the city for a month to merely relax and visit with family seemed childish and selfish. He was an adult now. He had to make the tough decisions.
Come July, his mother and father would find their way to England. However, this year, Howl planned to attend to his duties as a Page of Neptune.
