He was still quite stiff from his injuries. Certainly, his bruises had faded quite drastically, but it didn't mean that the trunk of his body was still not tender. It honestly boggled his own mind as to why he was spending his free time patrolling rather than resting up, but here he was, patrolling the city via rooftop after his school classes and before the evening curfew.
Normally the passes over the edges of the buildings did not wear on him, but today, he couldn't help but feel winded only part way through his patrol. He paused upon the rooftop of one of the stores in a relatively popular shopping district, leaning against a wall near the ledge of the building.
The teal-haired fellow knew he had only been lucky today that no other youma had showed up. He would not have done well if something like that snake youma showed up. It was faster and stronger than Nysa, and if the Super senshi, Pomona, had not been there to assist him, he would have probably been a corpse that turned up mysteriously injured with no explanation.
He wanted to remain true to his values, but last he checked, he also wanted to continue living. As he kept looking over the edge of the building, his mind couldn't help but drift to that afternoon. Remaining a pacifist was leaving him as a sitting duck more and more these days. He was quite adequate at dodging out of the way of the various youma, but it did not seem to be enough. Quietly, he uttered to himself "...what would Franz do...?" seeming to lose connection with the real world for a bit.

The knight of Earth was sure the youma had slipped down this alley... but maybe he had lost track of it back where the light was flickering. The shadows had been confusing enough, and though he was sure at the time that he had followed some movement down this way...
Perhaps he was not the best at tracking, but he wasn't going to let that dissuade him.
He felt the presence of another knight nearby, looking around. He was in a dark alley, and his attention was drawn from chasing shadows as he looked up at the roof tops to see where the feeling was coming from. Certainly the Page would be able to feel the Knight nearby, but since they were both exuding the same kind of energy he hoped climbing to the roof top would not be a waste of his time.
He half expected, though, that by the time he got up there the fellow knight would be gone.
Managing to drag himself up to the roof, without too much difficulty, he saw Nysa and smiled, though he was distracted as he hauled himself over the edge of the building and onto the roof. He sighed, thankful for the strength of his powered up state. He would never have been able to do that in his civilian form, pushing forty as he was.
"You seem pensive," he said, for lack of anything better to cut the thick silence with. Clearly the Page was lost in thought, but Camelot drew closer and, curious, wanted to see if he was alright. He couldn't help the paternal, protective instinct that always hit him every time he came across a knight that seemed new to the job. Or was just younger than him.
This Page fit both, and thus Camelot was worried about him immediately.

"You seem pensive." The words caught his attention before the tingle of a far stronger ally managed to phase his senses. Had it worked the other way around, he might have had the chance to notice the elder man's approach. However, instead, the lad turned 90 degrees (practically on the dot) and soon enough found an elder man with slightly graying hair before him. Tucking his legs up tightly together, Nysa smiled to apologize for his lack of attentiveness. "Pensive would be an accurate term for my mood, I suppose. It is rare for an American to select such a specific word to describe the mood of a stranger." Based upon the manner in which the teal haired fellow spoke, it would have seemed that he was not truly American, especially with that accent weaving into his words. For a brief moment, teal eyes wandered over the man's form, taking note of a blatant lack of a fuku, the symbols that adorned his uniform, as well as the varying amounts of armor. There was no sense of chaos to be felt from this man, who clearly had some of the graceful wrinkles of a kind person, mostly congregating about the corners of his eyes. Politely, he turned himself to fully facing his new companion, then asked "Might I inquire as to what your title and rank is, Sir?"

"I guess being surrounded by books all day helps my vocabulary," he said with a smile, nodding his head in greeting. It wasn't every day someone commented on his diction, and he wondered about this young man immediately.
It was not off putting, though. It was encouraging really. He thought about his son in comparison, and knew that Nathan would not bother with frivolous things like 'proper speech' or the 'feelings of strangers'.
Consider Camelot well refreshed.
"My name is Camelot, Knight of Earth. I usually patrol by the library, thus the books." He tried not to over explain himself there, because that was just as fishy as saying it in the first place. One would think that after so long being in this game, he would know how to be more protective of his identity then he was.
One would be wrong, it seemed, but this was just a slip up. He told himself it was just a slip up, anyway, and wouldn't happen again.
"And you?"
He knew the other was a Page, recognizing the weight of his aura, as it were. And there was that air about him, free of being jaded and lacking that confidence, sometimes overbearing, that came with age and experience. Maybe it was just something Camelot was looking for, but he was sure that newbies had more than innocence to them. They had an awareness, and eagerness to learn maybe, that more experienced fighters in this war grew out of.

Though his expression did not seem to falter in the slightest, the Page could not help but think this man was far to liberal with the information about himself. If Nysa had wished ill upon this Camelot, Knight of Earth, he could have started to stalk the library in an effort to cause him issues.
However, thus far, Nysa had no reason to cause the man any problems.
Upon the returned inquiry of his own identification, the lad extended a gloved hand towards the man. "I go by Nysa, Page of Neptune." He flashed a smile to the man.
"You seem to be an ally... you are the first one I have met that is not wearing the short skirt and sailor collar as the senshi and does not reek of 'chaos' I believe is the term." He had heard several senshi reference that strange dark feeling as chaos, but he had no true confirmation if that was the correct term or not.
Rather than hide his curiosity completely, the teal haired lad asked in a pleasant manner "Would you mind if I picked your brain in regards to this 'war' that has taken over this city?"

"Neptune? Ah, that makes sense," he nodded his head, taking the others hand and shaking it. He hadn't recognized the outfit outright, but it was one of those 'oh right' moments. Like if he had a few more seconds he would have definitely figured it out.
Definitely.
"I don't think I would look very good in a skirt, to be honest," he said, glancing down at himself on instinct. He couldn't even imagine it, and tried his best not to. It made him shudder, just trying to imagine fighting and defending others in a tiny skirt. For that, then, he had the utmost respect for the senshi. Some were given such surprisingly skimpy clothing, yet they still conducted themselves as honorable heroes should.
Most of them, anyway.
"But yes, I lack Chaos because I'm a knight, like you. Our name, as a group, as well as my rank, which is a bit complicated to explain sometimes, I'm finding. but I'm sure you understand." Other knights had a better chance of it, but trying to explain to a senshi or someone else what he was seemed difficult.
"Feel free to ask me anything," he said, smiling and nodding. It was what he enjoyed doing, after all. Helping others, and spreading knowledge throughout the knights. Starting out was always hard: and he knew how overwhelming it could be. If he could help them adjust, he would certainly do it.

Nysa could not comment on how a skirt would look on himself. He, unfortunately, knew he looked quite pretty, and still at times was confused for something that should be in a skirt. It was clearly something he was not going to comment on, keeping his lips firmly together.
The explanation that the man offered in regards to the name of their "group" did not seem satisfactory. Making certain to mind his manners and tone, he stated "I will have to be honest and say I do not understand. I would rather be referred to by my rank than confuse an ally with what I am."
Once their introductory handshake had finished up without a hitch, the lad nodded his head slightly, causing his hair to fall over his one eye. With a graceful motion, he wiped it out of his line of vision with the back of his gloved hand. "I appreciate any insight." For a moment, he paused, as if he was trying to adequately come up with a way to phrase any of his questions into words. It was a thoughtful silence, if anything.
Once the words seemed to have formed in his head, he then spoke them aloud. "What is our purpose here in this city? Are we meant to fight or to defend?"

"Of course. That's why you're a Page. That's simple."
He chuckled, nodding his head. This kid was uptight, a little pompous, and thought himself something of a gentleman, it seemed. But Camelot didn't mind: he met far worse at the library. Customer service made him more patient than not, with any type of person, and didn't really dwell on first impressions too much.
Sure, for a job interview it might be important, but in a war like this things worked a little differently. He considered the others question patiently, trying to come up with the best answer. there wasn't one. It was a very big idea, and he shook his head.
"Everyone has their own ideas, but I find we are meant to defend. It often means to fight, in the end, but it's what we're fighting for and defending that matters. We might all represent different planets, but Earth needs our help the most. I fight for and defend those that need my help, and I serve those that would use me to that end. I don't like fighting, and I try not to do it. In the end, I want to find a way to end the war between the sides of Chaos and Order, and find peace."

The Page stood in place as attentive as ever, while making certain to not seem overly eager to get the insights that the Knight had. His expression seemed thoughtful, and his eyes were carefully taking in just as much information as his ears. His eyes watched the man's body language, checking for any signs of insincerity that might have arose subconsciously. No common signs, such as stiff posture or randomly itchy areas seemed to bother the elder of the pair. If anything, it meant that the words Camelot spoke were sincere. Nysa's ears were also getting a work out, easily noting the tone to the man's voice, which seemed in check, while holding the same sincerity that the Knight's body language offered.
They were the words he wanted to hear, but also the words he had feared he would hear. Even if Camelot did not like to fight (as he claimed), he still did it out of necessity.
Making certain his own voice maintained a certain dignity to it, he gave a subtle nod before replying "I appreciate your honesty in your answer, Sir Camelot." This man was the first of his kind that he had encountered, and he imagined using titles like "Miss" or "Mister" would not be nearly as acceptable as it would be with the senshi.
So now Camelot, Knight of Earth would be known as Sir Camelot.
Continuing on with his response, he added "Your words give me plenty of food for thought. Thank you." Though there was a sort of formality that touched all of Nysa's words, he also made certain his own sincerity was evident in his tone.
The Page had plenty of questions to ask, but for now, he pulled from the current conversation between the two for the next potential topic. "I do notice there is a drastic difference of power between you and myself, you being a Knight, and myself being a Page. I know that there are senshi who have a similar system of ranking when it comes to their power. It would seem like quite a drastic change to go from a Page to a Knight... I imagine there would be another rank between. Might I ask what it is called?"
As silly a question as it might have seemed, it truly was something that would have bothered him to remain in the dark about. However, his presentation of such a request was far too formal to be deemed silly.

Camelot smiled and nodded his head. He had no reason to lie, though sometimes softening the blows of their reality was helpful with new knights. It wasn't always fair, however, and it was a tricky line to walk. To play father and mentor to someone often meant conflicting goals, he knew that well, and he couldn't do it every time he set out.
He had to make sure that the Pages he met knew what they were getting into. There was danger, from youma and Chaos and even from civilians. Camelot had a scar from a common bullet wound to attest to that.
The title made him a little flustered. He was often easily embarrassed, and though he liked to refer to his fellow knights as sir and lady as well, he had never considered how it actually felt. It was a title he wasn't sure he had earned yet, though it did make him smile sheepishly.
"Ah, your next stop is Squire. That's the stage between," he said, nodding his head at the young man's astute question, "I think Chaos and Order both share this structure. The Negaverse runs, from what I've gathered through my encounters, with ranks. Lieutenant, Captain, General. Senshi follow from... ah... well I'm not sure if their first stage has a proper name. But from Senshi they turn Super Senshi, then Eternal. That's as far as I know, anyway. There are other levels, incredibly powerful ones, beyond, but I've met them rarely and fleetingly."
He remembered the intense darkness he had encountered once, and the strength of the light in the Princesses he had met. He frowned, hoping he wasn't confusing the boy further by throwing out too much information.

This man must have been quite humble, for the slight shift in expression was easily noticed.
The information was once more tucked away in the back of his mind. It was useful to know each faction had approximately 3 different levels of power. With what seemed like a subtle mention of outliers.
The idea of the outliers did manage to stir up memory of another strange occurrence which had happened relatively recently. For him, it had been somewhat nightmarish, but even putting himself outside of his own perspective, the whole scenario could be seen as just odd.
"...Sir Camelot... there has been a set of words that... I inexplicably know to heart... and..." Nysa paused slightly as he tried to place the proper words into his mouth.
"...when I spoke them aloud one time... I found myself in a new place. Like nothing I had ever seen before." He turned away for a moment, glancing out towards the city surrounding them. "Have you ever experienced such an odd event?"

Camelot listened and knew at once that the young knight had found his pledge. Probably a lot faster than Camelot had come to learn his, and visited the land he was named after for the first time. But that was not even a point of bitterness for him any more, as used to it as he was.
Everyone was younger than him. Everyone woke sooner than he did. They learned faster and they were often better at it than he was. But it didn't matter to him anymore. Maybe once it had, but he knew that he was serving a purpose. He was helping those he could.
And that was what was most important.
"Yes, it's something every knight has to find for themselves. You went to the place you're named for, as I have been to Camelot." More than once, and one time before he had been powered up. But that was a long faded nightmare he could almost not recall anymore. Or chose not to.
"Did you learn anything there?"

Though the teal-haired fellow as not facing the veteran, he was still paying quite a bit of attention to any insight he offered. He merely had turned away so any hint of the terror he had experienced would not be viewable to such a respectable person as Sir Camelot. Nysa felt his eye twitch against his will as the elder man managed to give him some perspective on what he had encountered.
The place I am named for?
If he had any choice about the matter, the place would not have been completely underwater. Alas, it was not the page's place to actually decide what the place he was named for was like.
The prompt about what he had learned at such a place caused the younger man to freeze up for a moment while he remained looking away. His visit had been brief, but he had learned quite a bit. Though the majority of his attention had been focused on the mere fact he had been underwater. A fact he did not plan to mention. He opened his mouth, then closed it slowly, as if to test if it still functioned well. Once this test was over, Nysa turned to face Camelot, managing to place an authentic looking smile upon his cheek.
"Alas, I was unable to uncover anything too significant, it was quite a mess though... it looked as if something had rampaged through the space I had visited." If he hadn't been so distressed over the water issue, he probably would have distressed over the cleanliness.
Casually he ran a gloved hand through his bangs so both of his eyes could be seen a bit easier. "I am quite glad to know I am not descending into a sort of inexplicable madness. I am curious about what Camelot is like... but it is not my place to ask." As casual a comment as it seemed, Nysa's choice in words were a bit more loaded than they'd seem on the surface.
He not only had voiced an interest in learning more about Camelot's own sanctuary, but he had also pointed out in a more indirect way that he did not want to discuss the subject further out of respect.

Camelot nodded is head as he listened.
"That seems to often be the case, I'm afraid." Not that he could compare. He had yet to find the castle in Camelot, though he'd visited an incredible cave, and a beautiful lake. The forest seemed endless, but he knew there was more to it that he had to find.
He just hadn't yet.
And he wasn't in a rush.
He firmly believed that a wonder was a very personal place. It was for each knight alone, and they were meant to explore it as they wanted to, as they needed to. What they took from it was theirs alone. He smiled when Nysa kind of but not really asked about Camelot, though. He also did not mind sharing what he learned, as he felt knowledge was one power capable of uniting them.
Not that he had anything interesting to share about his wonder.
"I'm afraid I don't know much about Camelot, either. I've been a few times. I do know that you can reach Avalon and Shalott, that they are connected, as I have met the knights with those names and we discovered the connections together. It's interesting! I'm sure there is an impossible amount of stuff we can learn from our wonders, and we'll never stop learning if we keep looking. Which I recommend doing." He smiled easily at the thought.

Even the scant amount of information that Camelot supplied seemed to be volumes of information for the Page. The fact that there were other knights of the same planetary origin that had connections with his namesake in the past was quite intriguing. And where as the lad was not exactly an expert on tales of olde, he was able to make a connection with the namesakes as well.
A crisp nod was returned to the Knight as he offered his advice. "I will keep such in mind if I manage to locate any others of Neptune." His encounters with senshi were far more prevalent than encounters with Knights, Squires, or Pages. He was curious how Nysa would connect to any other places if it was completely under water. However, now was not the time to worry about such. He would need to explore Nysa, though it didn't take much work for the lad to decide that would be after a bit of renovation.
It would be disrespectful to leave Nysa in such conditions.
Seeming satisfied with the responses in regards to the mysterious place he had managed to find, the lad then moved to reach into his coat to what was probably an interior pocket. When his gloved hand came back out from hiding, he was holding onto a simple white feather.
"Now, Sir Camelot, as fond as I am of writing and quill pens, would you have any insights as to how I can use this... effectively. I think the most I have managed to figure is... tickling a youma." Though he had managed to state such in a dignified manner, there was something embarrassing enough in confessing such that caused the lad's cheeks to gain a bit of color.
