Priscilla Stratford - dress

She elicited a small hmph at his quick rejection, although her snide attitude began to calm itself at the mention of Lara. There hadn't been enough affairs for Prissy to have enjoyed with the older woman before her unusual and mysterious demise and the thought sent a frown to the beautiful girl's face. There had been an event or two that she'd attended alongside the socialite and the memories were all that remained.

Squeezing his arm tighter, eyes moved to glance away as she stared off at the strangers all around them. "You aren't the only one being spoken of, I'm sure."

Sure enough, there were a few older gentlemen that she'd recognized as being former associates of her father, though most were too caught up in their conversations of financial ventures and capital to bother glancing in the direction of Maxwell Stratford's only daughter. Good. Priscilla had no interest in rehashing those problems over the course of the evening. Not when she had a perfectly handsome date at her side to take advantage of... even if he was a bit tight-lipped, as far as date nights went.

She saw the man approaching Chase and knew an interruption was inevitable. Typical, given the reappearance of Black's heir.

"I want a dance, later." The words were brief and soft, but not soft enough that she knew he'd heard her demand.

As the stranger offered them both glasses, Prissy happily accepted the gift and nodded her head in appreciation.

"Good evening," She addressed the young man, clearly not in the mood to be treated as background noise. Any other situation and she'd have been content with being nothing but eye candy but the pinkette was feeling far too egotistical to sit on the sidelines tonight. Lifting the flute to her lips, she gingerly sipped on the amber colored liquid, savoring the tingle as it slid down her throat. Rose gaze cast a playful look towards Chase. "What a nice gentleman."

Rob Banks
- lmao ignore this, I just love it

The arm that had draped itself around her shoulder slipped off, moving down to take her hand within his own.

"As the lady wishes," He responded confidently as fingers entwined with hers. "I would be the luckiest man on the dance floor."

Practically oozing what charm skills he had, the thirty year old whisked his blue dressed beauty onto the dance floor with him, mindful of the other couples that had begun to dance to the music. It had been a fair amount of time since he'd lasted danced, but Robert was no cad when it came to fancy footwork.

One hand drifted towards his face, however, as he caught the gaze of his partner staring back at him. Two fingers moved up to gesture a silent I'm watching you to his partner, whom Rob had already seen schmoozing with some pretty little thing. Steele could date whomever he wanted as long as it didn't conflict with their financial goals, as it was.

Hand then descended to take hold of her waist as the other matched the other hip, his gaze turning back towards his own beautiful date.

"You look gorgeous tonight, by the way. I meant to tell you that earlier, but I think I was a bit overwhelmed at the sight of you in that dress."

Akio Yoshida - soot

He'd only wanted a drink.

Sliding his way between people, his fingers had taken hold of a champagne stem when one side was bumped into, a small voice immediately begging apology. As he turned to graciously excuse her, his other hip found itself bumped from the other side, sending the young man into a whirlwind of confusion and jostled drinks.

"My pardon," He said at first, addressing the woman he'd presumably bumped into, who appeared to be fending off the gushings of a slick looking blonde gentleman. An eyebrow rose in amusement, before he turned towards the short young woman who'd initially bumped him, eyes wide and cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "And my pardon to you as well, ma'am."

He bent at the waist in a bow towards the turquoise haired woman as he offered his free hand to her in gesture. "Are you alright? May I offer you a drink?"

Knowing he'd already taken from his own flute, he turned to pluck a second stem from off the table, motioning to offer it towards the young woman.

Julianne Payne - dress

His warm hand pressing against the thin material of her dress caused her to turn towards her date, a bright smile flashing across her face as she looked up at him.

Dancing had been a part of the gala but not something Julianne had expected to take part in. Truthfully, she hadn't gone dancing since... well, it had been several years and even then, she was being generous with her guess.

"If you don't mind being seen with a beginner, of course." Her hand was offered to him, leaving Andrew with one final glance before her entire attention was given to the man of the hour.

Isaac looked even more dashing than he did when he was being fitted and although Jules felt herself shying away from his gaze, she happily accepted his hand and moved out towards the dance floor with her date. "I warn you in advance, your toes will probably come to absolutely hate me by the end of tonight."

Jada Chamberlyn (Outfit, Hair)

Darling? It was a good thing for him that she knocked into the young man, because she might have had some deep thoughts on that as a pet name. But for right now, she was too busy being absolutely mortified to make any comments on his choice of name.

Not only had she bumped into someone, but someone else had bumped into him as well, and Jada could feel the flush in her cheeks. Luckily, the young man seemed to barely notice, and Jada took advantage of his interest in the other girl to get out of there, making a soft murmur of apology and stepping away from the young man and his new companion. And away from the champagne before she decided to drown herself in it.

Bright eyes flicked around the crowd, seeking out people she knew, pausing on a few interesting people- was that tall young man over there with a woman in pink who she thought it might be? And was that- there was some interesting society out this evening, it seemed, as well as many people out to enjoy a bit of a party. "And what do you do for a living? A doctor? A patron of the hospital?"

After another moment, she remembered to reply to his concerned inquiry. "I'm well; I apologize, I should have answered earlier. Do you dance, Mr. Moore? I brought a friend with me to the party, who I am certain would adore your level of genuine sincerity. She did confide that she's quite interested in dancing with as many people as humanly possible." She neglected to tell him her friend was 6. And her sister. And currently engaged in a dance with another gentleman. All of these things being a potentially fun setup to watch his face fall, and perhaps even extract a pout.

Kalani Mahsa - dress

Kalani had been in the middle of skulking about, being up to no good overall and just overall getting into general mischief when Basil suddenly went crashing into her, causing her to stumble slightly, though she very thankfully was 'graceful' enough to remain standing. Quickly, she glanced around, making sure nobody saw that slight mishap just now; the last thing she wanted was for anything to damage the carefully maintained public image she had built or herself.

At the time, Kalani had also been holding onto a drink, which she had mercifully avoided splashing onto her dress, but had still managed to get some onto her shoes. That was simply unacceptable, and the tween turned around, intending on lecturing whoever had bumped into her... only to find one of the waitresses was already chewing him out for apparently bumping into her.

Well, that was okay. Kalani could wait.

In the meantime, she settled for glaring at him, even if he wasn't looking at her.

Chase Black

Chase turned his cheek so that he could observe his date more clearly when she squeezed his arm. "Don't worry about them," he told her, whiskey gaze flicking over to the men she glanced at. "You're with me." The statement was meant to imply reassurance, but also more than that. The man wasn't the type to let people talk poorly of those he considered important.

The way he held himself was purposeful, spine straight and shoulders squared. Chase Black, for all of his time away from people, looked like he belonged in the middle of a high society gala almost effortlessly. It helped, of course, that he had the beautiful Priscilla Stratford at his side, looking lovelier than usual with the way she'd done herself up.

"Of course," he replied absently, automatically as he turned his head and brushed his lips against her temple just before their mystery guest made his way over. A dance was something easy to give and would keep her with him.

Trey received a practiced smile, one that didn't quite meet his eyes but was pleasant enough. Chase had attended enough events between his father's demands and his mother's requests to know exactly how to behave, falling into old habits easily. He accepted the flute graciously, tipping his head to the other man in thanks though he had no intent of drinking it.

He didn't drink often, but when he did it was always whiskey.

"Your mother is a designer, isn't she?" He asked, vaguely recalling the man's name from something his mother once chattered away. She probably owned some of Trey's mother's clothing. "I assume you know my name then, but I'll give it to you anyway. Chase Black," he looked at Prissy, offering her a better smile. "This vixen is Priscilla Stratford, my girlfriend."

Still, he managed to roll his eyes at her and her playful jab.

His mouth opened to re-address Trey when someone caught his eye in the crowd and he lifted the flute in greeting to the woman he recognized from his younger days. Gaze drifting back to the other man a dark brow arched. "Now did you come to question me of your own free will, or did someone put you up to it?" While he appeared to be joking, there was a line of seriousness in his voice.

Aurora Willows - Dress

It seemed like a lot of things were happening at once as she bumped into the brunet. Someone else jostled him and she stepped back, hands flying to draw her flowing skirts up so that she didn't step on them again. While she often complained about the heels on her boots, she was grateful for them in that moment if only because they'd forced her to learn to walk properly in heels. Jade eyes flicked over to the other woman who seemed to apologize and quickly flee, some man in pursuit.

Rory had half a mind to follow the familiar looking woman - had she babysitted for her before? - but the handsome stranger was paying attention to her and the girl felt herself flush under his gaze as he bowed and spoke. "Oh, I'm fine, really - " Rory tried to say, ready to excuse herself because surely the man had better things - or people - to attend to than her but he was offering her a flute, one she shouldn't be accepting or drinking, that she accepted with a surprised, but pleased smile.

"Thank you." Both hands held the glass, one wrapped around the neck and the other's fingers pressed lightly along the glass as she glanced at the bubbly liquid.

Aurora was overwhelmed, marveled by the fact that she had attracted the attention of someone who looked like he could easily woo anyone in attendance,
but she wasn't about to count her stars. "I hope I didn't cause you to spill on your lovely suit, sir." Sir felt clunky and too formal as it left her mouth, but she was trying. Aurora Jane Willows was adaptable and she wasn't going to run off and hide this time.

Ignacio Araya

As Ignacio reached out for a particularly tasty looking morsel, he was suddenly bumped into and stumbled a bit to the side. Thankfully, a fair amount of agility allowed him to easily catch his balance and stand up straight before he did anything to embarrass himself. Or his agent. He honestly didn't care that much if he fell over--

For a moment, Ignacio let his glance sweep over the two--likely dating, it looked like--men that were now in front of him. One of them looked rather shy and had a clean suit on. The other guy was clearly the more outgoing of the two, if just because of the suit he was wearing. What was that pattern supposed to be? Florals? Definitely looked like florals--

"Don't worry about it!" offered Ignacio, nodding his head upwards with a bit of a grin. "There's definitely a lot of people in here. Hard not to run into people."

He glanced to the side, quickly swiping up the finger food he had been planning to grab before he had been bumped into.

Sol Olga Sayle [ outfit ]

Olga had been passed the invite by Caspian, and she hmm'd and haww'd about it for a while, because gala meant like...prestige. Olga didn't have any prestige, but she was dying to go to a fancy shin dig like this (galas were totally a trope thing and a setting for many stories, too!). Burning curiosity eventually won out, and she managed to get her hands on a dress that she thought was somewhat presentable without breaking her college budget. Plus, she had a nice pair of cowboy boots she'd been also dying to wear for forever.

Except now that she was here, feeling like chunk of talc among sparkling polished diamonds, she was severely regretting her life choices.

A scan of the crowd had her finding her targets friends, and she made a quick beeline, politely darting around other attendees to scoot up next to Caspian and Michael and a rather ADORABLE young woman. "Hey Caspian! Hey Sail Senpai!" She raised her hand in greeting, shooting them all a fox eyed grin. "Golly gee, you two sure look super dapper! You clean up pretty nice, Caspian." She rubbed her chin, pretending to take his appearance in again in thought, and then turned towards the young woman they seemed to be engaged with.

"Hiya! My name is Olga! What's your's? Your dress is super cute, by the way! So is your hair, and---" Well, evey thing, really.

Trey Cameron - Suit

The pretty girl in pink earned Trey’s full attention as she greeted him and a wider, self-deprecating smile.

“You are too kind, Miss.” He murmured. “Its easy to be a gentleman around a lovely lady.”

The other glass was accepted and Trey straightened with emptied hands, his gaze swinging to the man in dark colors. He felt distinctly cooler than his companion in his reception, but it didn’t put him off. It made things harder, of course, but it wasn’t unexpected. After all, they hardly knew each other in more than name.

His chin lifted as Trey brightened at being known, and he nodded.

“Joellen Faure-Cameron, yes. She’s mentioned meeting your mother at events like this that they both attended. It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance.” He said as his head dipped. Chase’s slight jab, whether serious or jesting, earned him another crooked smile and his shoulders lifted under the clean lines of his suit. “It is six of one, half a dozen of the other. My mother and I both wanted to offer our condolences to you, after hearing the news of your mother, but it really is my pleasure to meet you.”

He lifted his chin to Priscilla, offering her an easy smile. “Both of you. You make a striking pair here tonight. That dress looks like it was made for you… I’m jealous of whomever it came from.”

Offering equal attention to serious Chase and his lovely Priscilla seemed the best way of keeping the conversation going. Chase did not seem inclined to open up to him as of yet, but if he could amuse his date, perhaps that would earn him a few points in his favor. Being turned away and sent back to his mother more or less empty handed would wound his pride, at the very least, when he was doing his best to be charming.

Bob - outfit

There was one citizen of Destiny City who did not receive an invitation to the night's affair.

This particular citizen also did not pay his taxes, nor did he hold a job. As far as his citizen duties went, Tater Bob did absolutely nothing to bring to the figurative table, but he still felt slighted that out of all the invitations distributed by the General himself, he did not receive one.

So, having acquired himself a furry friend as a wing man, Bob had decided that crashing such a fancy to-do was in order for the night's agenda. Finding a back way in hadn't been hard, the buffet table even less difficult.

His long furry tail swished back and forth as he glanced back at his protégé, who also had dressed up for the affair. The buffet was only feet away, both literally and figuratively. They'd had to weave through several pairs of legs to close in the gap between themselves and the white skirted tables that promised caviar and shrimp galore.

"So, kiddo - remember the deal. If they try to usher us out, go for the really tall redhead. He'll be our ticket into staying at this joint, trust me."

Silk [ outfit ]

Silk felt that is was his divine right to be here, because after all, he was Metallia's gift to men. Women too, he guessed. Metallia's gift to all. That meant he was more than qualified to be here, and despite feeling entitled to that right, he was secretly hoping that he didn't run into Chase or Skanky (his girlfriend). Skanky wouldn't be hard to miss though. Her dress looked like she dipped herself in some teletubby custard and then let it dry. Gross. Plus...he hadn't exactly mentioned to Chase that he'd be here...

Aaanyways...

All they wanted was some food. No harm, right?

Silk sat next to his mentor, golden eyes going wide at the sight of the table. So much glorious food. "Right." He replied distractedly, managing to tear his little eyes away from the table to seek out the tall redhead that Bob was talking about. "Okay. Great. Red headed tool, got it. Now, Bob, the real thing is---how do we get up there?"

Gweneth Malley - Dress

Gwen didn’t know what her end goal was. All she knew she wanted was to get away from the majority of the crowds and the perimeter of the room was one of the better places to accomplish that. If that failed, the bathrooms weren’t too far away from where she was headed and…

A voice cut through her one track thoughts and made the woman pause in her flight, not that it was terribly hard to do considering her dress made it hard to take anything but short hurried steps. Blue eyes glanced around her until they focused on the one man who was close enough to her to have been the speaker. He looked relaxed enough leaning against the wall with a glass perched between fingers. She wasn’t quite sure if it was boredom or an air of superiority that brought about the disposition, but she turned to face him nonetheless. Her own wine glass, full of the same red wine, held in her right hand.

“Nowhere in particular.” She responded. It was the truth after all. “Just getting away from the heavier crowds.” And a prying teen, but hey, Gwen wasn’t going to go into that much detail. After all, she was far from proud of the fact that she had fled from a girl not even old enough to drink.

“And how about you? Intending to spend the night holding up that wall?” She questioned cooly. “Most people seem more interested in rubbing elbows with higher-ups than just skirting round on the perimeter.” Of course, she really had no idea if he’d just arrived to the shindig, was skulking around like she had mentioned or was just taking a break from the crowds like herself. But, she was already in no real mood to play with pleasant etiquette.

Ilian Jones (outfit)

“No,” Ilian frowned as he was nudged by his childhood friend who now towered over him. Typical. “I bought it myself. Lovely just helped.” Which was entirely reasonable seeing as Lovely worked in the men’s section of the department store they worked at. And Lovely always had a better eye for this sort of thing.

Jericho had given him the ticket. He was a little surprised that of all the people he could have asked, it would have been Ilian. Aside from being friends since they were kids, even Ilian had to admit that their lives kept them more separate than was really fair. But maybe it was for the best.

He was about to open his mouth, probably to agree about getting food, when there was a familiar voice he heard, and he looked up to see Cassadega heading towards them. There wasn’t really any room for saying anything, hello, goodbye, or otherwise. Instead, Ilian made a face at the thought of dancing, and figured it was probably best that Cassadega was keeping Jericho occupied.

It was at that moment that he really wished that Lovely was there to at least keep him company. Not that he couldn’t go about mingling with other people, but at least Lovely wouldn’t be dragged off by someone else. Maybe.

Peter Gallo (Outfit)

“I guess,” Peter grimaced at Chailee’s comment about his brother and Caspian, not bothering to look their way again, but instead trying to keep his eyes on her face and not check out her legs or anything else. Because that would be rude. Probably.

“My parents love these things. They’re not here tonight, but only because they’re not in town. They keep traveling. It’s kind of annoying,” he admitted. Not that he actually lived with his parents, but he would have liked to be the one traveling.

“Well, I’m glad you’re here at least,” he finished with a grin, and then glanced up to look around to figure out where the food was hiding. “Looks like everyone swarmed the food. Great. I was looking forward to those little sausage things,” he let out a huff and took a step back.

“I don’t know if you’re into it, but we could always dance while we wait for the pack to leave scraps behind for us,” he joked, flashing her a grin as he held out his hand. Maybe she wasn’t into dancing, or into dancing with him, but it was better than just standing around doing nothing.

Yuuri Matsunaga (outfit)

Drinks were a good way to keep distracted, even though in America the age was higher, but people there seemed to either not care or not notice if people slightly underage just happened to pick up a glass of wine. Red zinfandel was his choice, and he quietly sipped at it semi-behind Adrien’s back.

Not that he was hiding that he was drinking. He was just hiding.

Adrien had bumped into someone; another young man who seemed to be thankfully more interested in grabbing food from the table than paying much attention to him or his boyfriend. Which was great. Because if Yuuri didn’t have to talk to anyone, that might mean that he’d last longer and maybe not pass out from anxiety.

So instead, he just awkwardly peered around Adrien’s arm, and then gave his hand a nervous sort of tug because hiding in the corner or something sounded like a great idea. Besides, Adrien kept saying nice things to him, as he always did, even though he highly doubted he was that much of a delight to be with. He was just kind of… there.

[Cordelia Carden] (outfit)

"If you're offering, it would be my pleasure." Her answer came quickly-- Too quickly? Cordelia had become used to giving Fritz a chance to reconsider his words and actions when it came to situations that put them in such close quarters. It had become so important to her to be mindful of his aversion to nearness and touch that she was hyper-aware of how close they were now.

Could he hear the way her heart was pounding in her chest? Did it echo in his ears the way it was in hers? Would he just know the precise moment her pulse skipped when their eyes met again?

Breathe.

Had she stopped? Was there any chance at all that this was just a dream? Her eyes searched his face for some sort of sign that she had misheard him over the voices and the music, that he had asked anything else at all.

He hadn't.

He had laughed and it was wonderful. He had smiled, still was, and the gentle warmth of it made her heart ache in a way she hadn't thought was possible anymore. She was in over her head and instead of running away Cordelia Carden held out her hand. "Shall we?"

It was starting to prove more difficult than he thought, and after a moment he brought one hand up to catch Luc by the wrist. Text to Teen Wolf You're a pointless endeavor.

Katrina rolled her eyes as she tucked her phone into her clutch. To hell if she could actually remember what she and Archer Wren, better known as General Wolfeite (or Archer Hale, when she felt like being an a**), had been talking about. He had a habit of taking his sweet time when it came to text messages and she was far more interested in trying to figure out how she was going to slip past the goons at the door than she was in scrolling back up to properly continue a conversation.

Bright green eyes watched as people approached, waiting for just the right moment, just the right person. Her prey was an anxious young man-- hospital staff, she would hazard a guess-- alone and fumbling his invitation. She waited until he'd dropped it before sweeping in, picking up the card while slipping her arm through his. She was bold and charming and he was dull and baffled and together they waltzed right in like they both belonged, as opposed to just one of them.

Her 'date' was easy enough to ditch. She'd given him a somewhat sympathetic smile and a light pat on the arm before slipping away into the crowd. If she mingled just enough maybe no one would notice that she didn't exactly belong. Kat had done her best to blend in, at the very least... Well, to blend without giving up who she was. Black and glitter and pink and sass, headed straight for the bar. What better way to blend than with a drink in hand?

Kailey O'Carroll - Dress, shoes, hair

From Jason's life. That phrasing had Kailey's smile remaining friendly and open, but inwardly she was a bit curious. His life...? Ok, so what was the other option that she knew him from? It denoted she had some level of familiarity with him. Classmate? Identifying herself as a recent friend didn't confirm to deny it, though her mind was atwitter with trying to understand that phrasing.

Kailey was a cynical person by nature. Cynical people read into wording when concerning some of the very, very people they consider close friends. She wasn't really even sure how to properly respond to the offer for the other girl, Rhona, to leave so they could talk. Sure she missed talking with Jason and it'd been a while, but wasn't like she had a monopoly. Even if this little unsettled, nagging voice that never shut up wanted to side-eye Rhona till she got a better feel of the woman. Not that she showed that on her face. She had practice with that.

And she was rather protective of the slightly younger Jason. She'd been the one to introduce him to partying, drinking, and loosely attempted to keep him away from the harder stuff when they were out and about. He'd been the one to drag her a** out of the parties and clubs when things started getting too much. Her responses had always been hit and miss during the moment. That felt like an understatement.

Of course, she had no shame offering him some champagne now--wasn't like it was super strong, more just for the novelty of it all than anything else, and old time's sake. Having it back in her hand soon enough didn't surprise her, though his response did, and she looked away from Rhona to stare at Jason in bemusement. "Yeah, Chief, twenty-forth, same as every year." No malice darkened her features though, or any sign of hurt feelings. Instead she smirked, winking as he already owned up to what she'd been about to angle at anyways. "Mmhm, and I already know how you and your wallet are gonna make it up to me."

He could offer the money, she could buy the booze, and they could flop on a sofa somewhere and watch TV and laugh about stupid stuff. Sounded like a grand time to her.

"You can stay, definitely," she chirped, though gave a snort towards Jason's innuendo and wink, swirling her flute and sipping it, eyeing him over the rim. "You're gonna need to pick up the pace and get some stamina tricks if you think you can keep up with me, never mind two ladies." A playful sing-song tone lit her words, and she turned the smug smirk to Rhona with another wink. "Never need backup, but I'll always take company to teaching a young buck a few lessons." More the merrier after all, and though she didn't offer a dime on a bet that anything would actually happen, it was still fun to joke and just... relax. Meet people. Socialize. Ignore the war outside and just. Relax.

For a moment, Bellatrix thought that she just had to be dreaming. There was absolutely no man as perfect as this. Nobody was really this charming outside of movies or fairy tale stories, nobody just…whisked you onto the dance floor and made you feel as though you were the only woman in a sea of other beautiful women. It just didn’t happen that way.

But…but that’s what had happened…and as she danced with her very own prince charming, she blinked as he made a gesture at another man and blinked, grinning over at the guy that Rob obviously knew. Perhaps this was the infamous Steele that she had heard about? She would have to see if Rob would introduce her sometime tonight. Or sometime in the future at least.

“Oh!” The compliment caught her off guard and she laughed, resting her head against his chest. “Thank you. I went out and got this outfit just for tonight. I have to admit, ever since you invited me, this has been all I could think about. Thank you. And, just so you know, you are the most handsome guy here, no matter what anyone says.”

Jericho Cross - Outfit

Jericho's brows raised as he took another look at the suit Ilian was wearing, leaning back a bit to take in the whole picture before nodding his head in clear approval. "You did good, it looks great on you. Might have to deal with the harassment and see if I can drag you both out with me next time I have to figure out new clothes." His darkened look down at his own attire made it clear -- he wasn't overly fond of it, or sure it fit him right. Now and then he tugged at the dark jacket and readjusted the freaking tie. Preferred his jeans and plaid shirts to this getup any day. "Lovely's more tolerable with you around, and neither of you pull punches on your observations." He was stating facts, no malice or joking to be found in his expression or voice. Though, if anything, a cut of apology came in as he added, "It's been a while since the three of us did jackshit together."

A flash of green caught his attention, and his pale eyes moved over the crowd. The familiar face that met his gaze startled him, though about as much as he showed of it was a slight straightening of his back and a raised single brow. And then Cassadega got close enough for him to view the tight curves of her dress and how the slightly shimmery slit skirt fluttered behind her with each click of a step, swimming around her toned legs.

Well. ******** weren't any eloquent words floating through his head, no poetry or time stopping or anything of that nature. There were questions of how he'd missed her when he'd been looking around before, how he could miss that figure in that dress, and a curious flick of his gaze about to see if anyone was trying to chase after her. And a few other thoughts that, in blatant summary, were extremely appreciative of her confidence and form.

A simple incline of his head was all he really gave on a greeting, though her complement got a small snort in response before he tipped his head towards Ilian, giving credit where he felt due. "Him better than me." Before more words could pass his lips though, she pressed a finger to his chest, making a clear statement--demand?--that had his eyes narrowing slightly. "You realize I have no talent in this, right?"

The look he shot Ilian could almost be read as a silent the ******** do I do? mixed with you alright? as she took hold of his hand. The tug hardly budged him, but he took a step as he gave a gruff sigh. "I'll be right back, Ilian. Meet you at the buffet?"

He tried to linger long enough to get an answer regardless, and another apologetic look, before he turned and let Caseadega lead him out. "You look pretty damn incredible," he stated, not even hiding the fact he was taking the chance to look her over further. "How long till I have to break your date's hand for trying to cut in?"
