Luca hummed a little at her companion's argument, sliding her hands into her pockets as she tried to trick her into moving on. "I mean, I doubt we'll ever have a reason to come back here though, at least for anything more than passing through," she replied, going ahead and moving in towards the path that lead to the next town. "Besides, there's plenty better places to kill time if we get in a deadlock... Celadon--The city with the Grass gym--I hear is pretty nice, apparently one half is a bustling city while the other is more urban and grassy, complete with a Game Corner nestled between them. Then the next place, Fuchsia, has a beach and the Safari Zone. Hell, the Fire-type gym's on an island apparently, and I hear they've got some cool stuff there."
As the swordswoman went on explaining things to the redhead, they ran into the first in a line of trainers that dotted the path. She caught on at least somewhat to Sylva's attempts to seem flexible on the subject, but didn't pay it much mind, stopping to fight the young novices along the way. Not that the fight stopped their little talk for even a second, Luca's Gardevoir making quick work of the weak team.

At first, it didn't appear her ploy was going to work. Luca made some valid points, but Sylva wasn't going to give in. She nodded a few times, as Luca explained other places had much more to see than this place. "Then aren't you eager to go and see those places? All those places sound like they'd have strong trainers, perfect for training our mons against?" Leaning in some making a motion with her hands that somewhat said 'Come on you know you want to.'
Sylva noticed the battle between Luca's Gardevoir and a young trainer, but payed little mind to it. The trainers around here was likely all weak small fries. She was eager to take on a challenge, which meant they needed to get someplace with stronger Pokemon. Stronger Pokemon meant stronger trainers to tame them. Right? "Anyway, Who's to say we won't come back here? Maybe Pewter has some hidden secret to it ,that would make us come back one of these days?" Sylva added, leaning up and shrugging. "Why spoil the surprise looking for that secret?" She smiled.
On the subject of weak trainers, Prscilla wasn't the only mon to fight one. Sylva's own Ivysaur, who'd yet to return to his ball was met with a challenge of his own. Rather, Sylva was, but since she was busy talking to Luca, Rolex took it upon himself to accept the challenge.

Luca looked back at her friend with a sly look, and a small grin. "You don't have to pretend to cater to me, you know," She chuckled, letting her pokemon sort out another young trainer the kid's team being of little threat to her. "Don't worry, it's not like I'm gonna make us stick around here or anything. We've only got the one badge under our belt, so the upper limit on the pokemon we can control is pretty low," As the fight concluded, Priscilla returned to her trainer's side, handing her a collection of items they received in lieu of fight money. "We need to get at least another badge before we start sitting down in one place to train for a lengthy period of time, and for that, we need to move on. We may very well come back here at some point, but I'm not gonna be heartbroken never getting to see that museum."
After she finished her thought, the two progressed through the mountain pass relatively easily, most of the trainers willing to back off before they too ended up a target. At this point, Luca finally started to look through the items she recieved from the previous fight; Potions, a TM, some held items, and a ton of berries. There were a few miscellaneous items she got as well that she didn't quite know the use of, and a trio of pokeballs, two of which she stored away in her bag. The third, she took a moment to look at, recognizing the red and black design of it. A unique type of ball, one that she remembered seeing in a book before. A Cherish Ball. She smiled a bit, looking to her Gardevoir for a moment.
The last thing she had in her hand was some junk, what looked like a wooden rod with a piece of broken and rusted metal sticking out one end. They didn't have any use for it, so the young woman returned the Gardevoir, and went through the process of switching her into the new Cherish Ball. When she let her out, a whole new set of changes were added to her appearance. The Gardevoir's hair elongated into long, thick locks that ran down her back, and a tail sprouted from the back of her waist. The tail was...almost as fluffy as her dress, perhaps even moreso. And the junk she had a moment ago transformed along with her, growing into a long, metal scythe, that looked as if it was all carved out of a lump of refined metal.

A museum? Was that all? Did like, every city have a museum of some kind? What was so special about this one? Or was it just the fact that she liked museums that she wanted to stay? Sylva did feel a bit dickish for forcing Luca to move along... well, attempting, and by chance succeeding. In the end they were closing in on Mount Moon, when Luca turned her attention to the items her Gardevoir had been collecting. Sylva tried to pay little mind to the assortment of items, but did notice the use of the red ball, which... transformed the already pretty Gardevoir into something... like a ghost or... with that scythe, a grim reaper. "Woah, pretty..." Sylva muttered, caught by the sudden change.Raising her camera up, the red-head snapped a few quick photos. "A beautiful Grim Reaper come to take the souls of the fallen in battle. Pri, could you lift that scythe up like you're going to attack with it?" Sylva pondered, stopping in her tracks to lower herself to a knee. This wasn't the usual type of photo she took, but it was also to beautiful to pass up. Though, as she got down to the ground, she found finding a good picture might not happen. "Maaan! It's to bright out, and the shade form the mountain isn't doing you any justice." Through the lens of her camera she spotted it, to the right of a Pokemon Center, the entrance to Mount Moon. "The mountain would make for a better shot." Sylva motioned, springing to her feet and dashing towards the mountain. Turning around, she continued to move backwards in a quick pace. "Come on! Before the inspiration is gone! Move it you guys!" Sylva was gone, there was no stopping an artist on a mission.

Azalea took her badge, as well as her other rewards, and threw them haphazardly in her bag. Though she appeared indifferent, Azalea did appreciate Brock's concise congratulations, and it was that appreciation that probably prevented her from vandalizing the walls of his gym for fun. It was so damn boring looking just like Professor Oak's. Oh well. She had other things to do. Better things. She left the gym and called a private number, listening as several dial up tones indicating transfer after transfer until finally someone picked up. "Hello?" A stuffy and bored sounding voice picked up on the other line. He couldn't greet any incoming calls with a more intriguing greeting, just in case someone who wasn't supposed to, got through all the channels. "Sup nerd?" Azalea remarked casually, at least recognizing the tone of the man as one of her division's underlings. "M-miss Azalea?! I didn't expect your call...!""Calm the ******** down Rich I just wanna know about the egg's progress. This ain't no formal check in, ya dig?" She insisted. Not that she would have alerted him ahead of time of any formal check in either.
His panic wasn't unwarranted after all. Azalea loved nothing more than pressure testing the people in her lab and watching the chaos ensue as she'd drop in and expect reports. This time though, she was after only one thing, and Richard freaking out was only going to make this take longer. "O-oh..." Richard's relieved sigh was audible, Azalea could practically see him adjusting his glasses. "The egg has been twitching occasionally, showing signs of life within. It could be close to hatching, but we can't be sure...." Azalea narrowed her eyes. "Why the hell wasn't I informed? If it's close to hatchin' but it doesn't have the proper energy levels we're lookin' for the whole experiment is trashed and it'll be your ********' head. Ya hear me punk? Those eggs were a pain to get and I'm not gonna be responsible for replacin' them. Now what's the goddamn energy readings?!" She could hear Richard fumbling around, unknown objects clattering as he moved and eventually got ahold of the documents he needed. "Th-they're unstable ma'am! The control group is calm or unresponsive, the test subject's is erratic." Azalea relaxed. That sounded promising at least. "Get ready to transfer the egg to me. I'm heading to the Pewter City pokemon center." Richard gave an affirmative "Y-yes ma'am!" and the line cut off.
As promised, Azalea moved to the pokemon center and logged into a private server on the PC in order for Richard to transfer the egg to her. Sure enough, it did appear to be wiggling as the creature inside started to struggle and attempt to escape the shell. Azalea quickly brought the egg outside of the pokemon center and walked out a ways. "Come on ya stink wad. Ya better come out already if you're gonna hatch. I'm not gonna break the damn shell for you." Azalea muttered, shaking the egg to see what it felt like. Then the shell cracked. "....Or maybe I will." Azalea muttered with mild surprise. She was fairly certain her shaking hadn't done anything though. Sure enough, the rest of the top shattered and wisps of black fur and smokey essence popped out of the top. "'Bout time." Azalea quipped as a large eye peered out at her, curious but ominous all at once as it made curious gurgling noises almost akin to a growl.

When Alejandro got to Pewter, he expected another serious training session to get ready for his battle against the gym leader; specifically with Diego and Aqua, who were the only ones that would stand much of a chance. Aqua could learn Water moves and he had taught Diego Grass Knot....Alejandro hoped Grass Knot would be helpful against that Pokemon they would be fighting against. It was more effective against heavier opponents. Or, was it against lighter ones? Either way, it was damage and that was really all that mattered. However, their training was over before it even started because he was attacked with a hug as soon as he entered town."Wha--? Dad?...Pa?"It was them alright. Alejandro stared at them in a bit of shock before shaking his head, causing Reina to jump down irritably."You look upset to see us, Kitty.""Don't call me that....And, I'm surprised, not upset. What're you two doing here?""Mike wanted to come see you. You've been so quiet he thought maybe you died.""Don't you dare pin this on me, Javi. You're the one that tracked his phone."Leave it to his parents to literally follow him around. Alejandro rolled his eyes before spotting the package in Javier's hands."What's that? A care package?""Something like that, but you have to have dinner with us first if you want it.""Sure thing, Pa."As if he even had to bribe him. Alejandro would have had dinner with them regardless. But, a present on the line was something to look forward to.

"You did what!?"Alejandro sighed at Javier's outburst, not at all surprised. He didn't expect anything less. So, all he did was sip his drink as Javier went off on him."It's one thing to confront an abusive trainer, but it's another thing entirely to run away from the police.""I'm not going to trust some woman to help us out. Besides, there was no way she believed me. Whatever that ******** said, he did a good job turning it around on me.""And, running off like you did certainly didn't--""Calm down, Javi."They both took a few minutes to breathe and calm down. Aqua jumped up onto Alejandro's lap, rubbing against his chest contently while Reina slept peacefully in the center of the table they were at."I know, alright? I just had to get Aqua out of there. That was all I cared about."

Once again, William stepped into Pewter City. It hadn't changed the slightest even after months. The thought of what he was doing in the past month dampen his mood. Anyone would if they have their journey threatened to end before he could even get his first badge. It was only a snake bite! granted, a poisoned bite. But still. He was right as rain after an antidote. That should be it, if somehow his parents caught wind of it and dragged him back home. Saying it was too dangerous that it could be worse, implying that he couldn't take care of himself. It's so vexing to see them eager for opportunity to get him to give up, to see that they wanted him to fail. William made a resolve then and there. He would succeed and proof them wrong. They weren't idle while he was in house arrest - he refused to say otherwise - he had a team of five, four of those strong against rock type, one even evolved already, though it was odd to evolve while recovering from pokerus and he rather not send Kaltas to fight. kaltas had been uncooperative ever since. He had thought he was being timid again, but it seemed there is more to it.
As he walked, William thought it might be a good idea to get his pokemon to warm up with a fight against local pokemon. It would be a good practice for his newest member too which was by his side. "Say, iluska," he said to the ducklett. "want to battle some local?" he asked and received a positive answer. "Great!" he smiled back, despite not being sure if he got it right or not. It was time like this that he missed his espurr who could translate for him. Was he so dependent to Mur to bridge for him before? it might be the case. His mind occupied, he absentmindedly walked through the street of pewter.

Their meal was tense after Alejandro filled his parents in on what happened, but he didn't regret it. He'd rather tell them himself than let them get a call from the police. He felt pretty good about himself because of it, too. After they finished eating, the trio and the two Pokemon left the restaurant they had chosen and walked around together for a while. Michael really took a liking to Aqua, somewhat comparing her to Alejandro, so he ended up carrying her like a baby; not that the Vaporeon minded. She enjoyed the affection."What are you going to do about Alola? No doubt the police put out a notice for you.""Yeah, I know....I guess I'll just have to talk to them if I decide to go back."That was going to suck, especially since he had to go back in order to battle the gyms there if he wanted the region starter rewards."I'll give the station a call sometime. See if I can make things easier for you.""Pa, you don't have to keep fixing my problems. I'm not a kid; I can handle it.""Can't help it. You're still our kid. We're going to help even if we shouldn't."Alejandro rolled his eyes, but relented. He knew better than to try and talk Javier from something he decided to do.

William groaned as he saw the pokemon that slithered out from the bush. It was just his luck to get an ekans when he was bitten by one and in the same city too. "Watch out for its poison," William cautioned his ducklett. He didn't want Iluska got too close to it so there's only on move to choose. "Water gun, hurry!" for the ekans had lunged. Fortunately, iluska was faster. Ekans was unable to dodge in time and charged right into the path of water gun. It was knocked down, but not enough. Ekans struck while iluska was recovering from using water gun. The bite connected. "iluska!" Willaim shouted out in horror, knowing what that meant. "Bat it with wing attack!" iluska listened, her wings glowed and she smacked the ekans with it. It did the trick as the pokemon let go and collapsed.
They waited with bated breath for a moment in case ekans was still conscious. It was when nothing happened that William dared to go near iluska. "Are you okay?" he looked at her wound. iluska quacked reassurance. "no poison it seems," william couldn't be sure, though he did sprayed a potion to heal the bite. "Might be better to get that looked into just to be safe," he muttered to himself. After what had happened last time, he was quite wary when it comes to poison type. "Good job though. You only need two hits to take it down," he praised and ducklett preened. They were ready for a long time already, so there were no reason for delay. "We will hit the gym later today," he decided.

William took Iluska to a pokemon center despite the ducklett's reassurance that she was fine. iluska might not like that William seemed to not trust her, but he told her that,"I want to make sure you are okay." Especially when he was going to pass by the center anyway. The place was nothing unusual when he stepped inside, but he took a moment to enjoy the rush of cold air as he walked further to the counter. "Welcome to the pokemon center. How may I help you?" Nurse Joy greeted him. "I want to get my ducklett checked for poisoning. An ekans bite her, though she looks okay, I want to make sure she is," William informed her and placed ducklett and the rest of his pokeball into the provided tray. "Of course, please wait in the lobby while we checked your pokemon," Nurse Joy told him and left him alone to find a place to sit. His thought soon drifted to his upcoming gym battle. He already knew it was a rock gym and he had so many option of what pokemon to use. His bulbasaur, feebas and metang held advantage over them, even his ducklett is able to due to her partial water typing. He was unsure about feebas since there won't be any water, but he preferred Agate over iluska since she didn't have weakness to rock. While his second would be Jasper. His sleep powder and grass type move would be quite an asset in this gym.
William left the gym after he retrieved his pokemon, all snugly inside their pokeball. It won't do to show his hand before the battle begun. The gym was easy to find, located near the center of the city, pokemon league symbol plastered on it. It was unmistakable considering it was one of the three building that stood out. He only hesitated for a moment at the door, before he pushed it open. Smell of dust and freshly dug earth hit his nose first, then the expanse of rocks that littered the open field, what will become a site of battle, he assumed. The idea of sending a feebas in was getting unappealing. he felt bad for sending her in, but she was one of his best choice and he hoped he wasn't making a mistake. "Hello?" he timidly called, feeling unsure about how he should proceed.

Brock poked his head out from behind a pile of rocks he'd been investigating. "Hey! Sorry, I didn't hear you come in." Brock chuckled, standing and dusting himself off a bit before approaching William on the gym floor with a smile. "If you're looking for the gym leader here, you've found him." The boy looked a bit nervous about the terrain though. "This is your first gym battle, isn't it...?" Brock chuckled. It was pretty easy to tell. He did get new trainers in here all the time, and the difference between trainers starting out or more experienced ones coming from other regions was pretty easy to see. This young lad definitely fell into the former category. Uneasy, questioning his judgement, probably a little nervous too. Though it was hard to tell what he was nervous about. Battling in general? First gym jitters? Well, regardless Brock would likely find out sooner or later. "Hey, is everything alright?" He asked. If the boy didn't want to talk about it that was understandable, but Brock was here to be a mentor, so he wouldn't use William's concerns against him.

William turned to see a man walked out from one particularly tall boulder. The man then introduced himself as the gym leader. Ah, so that was who he was. There was no name though. Realizing he was quiet the whole time, William quickly stammered an answer, "Yes," he said way too quickly. Surely he isn't that obvious was he? "it's just . . . challenging a gym by myself is so different compared to watching it on tv," His gaze went to the rocky field. That was true, though it's not the only reason for his uncertainty. The looming rocks around them made him felt small and he cannot help but examining them for a way his pokemon will navigate them in battle. They could hide behind it like makeshift wall, but their opponent could too. "so, I read the rule, but just to be sure, anything I need to know about the way this gym run their challenge?" he asked since it's best to make sure what he knew is correct. The gym leader seemed friendly or care enough to notice how anxious he was being. "I am ready once I know how to get this challenge started," there was determination there in his voice as he said it and not small amount of impatient. His anxiety was making him restless. His doubt was eating away at him. He was really doing this. His very own gym challenge. No, he won't back down now, not when he was here already. "oh! and umm, I haven't introduce myself, I am William. William Cornell. And you are?" he added as it occurred to him, he had yet to give his name.

Shhh no your post is fine! And I don’t think his spoken words vs thoughts are confusing, don’t worry~
Leader Brock
Brock chuckled as William took a moment to answer. Not in a demeaning way, but more in sympathy and understanding. "It certainly is very different, but don’t worry. Trust your Pokémon and have fun with it." Brock insisted with a smile, shaking his head when William asked about wanting to know any additional rules. "No, this will be a basic battle, your team against mine." Brock moved to one side of the field and sent out his geodude to start off, since William declared himself ready. "Nice to meet you William. I’m Brock, and I accept your challenge!" Geodude pounded the ground, seeming to prepare itself for the upcoming battle.

"I will," William agreed. It was a good advice if not one he had heard before. He trusted his pokemon, but he has harder time trusting himself to lead them. No, he stopped that train of thought. This wasn't a time to doubt himself, not before a battle. He straighten his stance as he followed Brock to the field, taking his place opposite of him, expanse of rocks between them. He noted it was quite far a distance between the two battlers. "Nice to meet you too!" William replied as he sent out a pokemon of his own, "Agate," he released his . . . feebas into the field. The pokemon flopped once and stilled as the feebas noticed the lack of water. it wasn't new as nearly all her battle had been on land. She learned quickly that it could use splash to jump and dodge on land.
