And last night you were in my room
And now my bedsheets smell like you
Every day discovering something brand new
I'm in love with your body

(WC: 808 )

One hand casually tossed back her hair as the click of her black heels drowned in the sound of the club's overpowering music. Bodies were grinding against one another out on the dance floor, thriving and swaying to the music as the dark room lit up sporadically with beams of red, yellow and blue. The bar was just as crowded as the dancing area, filled with couples, groups and singles mixed in with one another.

She should have been patrolling. If she was a good little girl, she would be out on the town, collecting energy and star seeds for her monthly quota. Power came with responsibilities, but tonight, Prissy didn't care about responsibilities. All she cared about was how loud the music could get, how much alcohol she could get for free and how many pairs of eyes could cast glances in her direction. Her own gaze would only rest on each taker for a moment before moving on to the next, disposing of dance partners just as quickly as the songs changed beats.

Kat was busy. That was fine. Whatever. Everyone was entitled to nights on their own, but Prissy didn't feel like being alone. Sitting at home when there was so much excitement to be had? So soon after her birthday, after her promotion?

No, staying at home would be the true crime, this evening.

A hand slipped around her waist and eyebrows rose as Prissy twirled around to find the hand's owner. Green eyes paired with a smug smile pulled her in close, refusing to let go despite her refusal to step closer. His dark faux hawk was the only thing to make her smile for a brief, blip of a second, to which the hairstyle's owner mistook for silent acceptance of his bold move. A second hand moved down to take hold of her side, guiding her with his swaying, forcing her to dance alongside him. She complied, if only because the music convinced her to keep moving - or maybe it was the alcohol, finally stirring some excitement within her?

The smile turned into a smirk as she took back her own body's control, pressing up close to the stranger, hands moving up to grip the black button-up shirt as hips undulated to the rhythm of the speakers overhead.

"What's your name?" She thought he attempted to mouth. Prissy smiled, continuing to dance as she chose not to respond. He didn't seem to take offense, the beautiful pinkette sliding her body against his in tune to the music.

The side door to the club opened up, people spilling and stumbling their way out into the night air. It was well past midnight, probably closer to two or three. Prissy had no idea - she hadn't bothered to bring her phone with her.

Dark Faux Hawk - or Brad, as he'd identified himself during their fourth dance - still had one hand glued to her hip as he yanked her back towards him. He was clearly possessive, not wanting the lonely young woman to wander too far away from him. His lips moved down to caress against the nape of her neck as soft fingers moved up to gently cradle his cheek.

"You never did tell me your name, you know."

The whisper brought a happy tingle over her, Prissy letting out a giggle as she squirmed around, meeting him nose to nose. His breath stunk of Grey Goose - hers of strawberries. He'd told her earlier that she'd tasted like candy, hinting towards wanting a better, more flavorful sample.

She had no problem giving him that opportunity.

"You'll know it soon enough..." Leaning up, she bit his ear, teeth nibbling the skin as she heard him suck in a breath while her hips joined his. "...because you'll be screaming it later."

Not one to waste any time, Brad had found an Uber within minutes and instructed the driver with directions to his bachelor pad apartment.

Slipping the star seed between her lips, she felt the crystal crunch between her back teeth before the Eternal Senshi swallowed the fragmented remains of the man's energy source. No longer would Brad have to worry about plaguing the planet with his future selves - she took care of that pesky little problem.

Sliding out the open window, Dia smiled as the breeze kissed her flushed cheek. She hadn't been wrong - Brad did scream her name at the end as he lay on his back, eyes wide and terrified as the woman on top of him had reached into his chest. He'd tasted of candy - which was much, much sweeter than his sloppy excuse for kissing.

Hopping out onto the fire escape, the senshi took a flying leap off the ledge and onto the rooftop of the adjacent building, her silhouette disappearing into the shadows as she chased the fading moonlight.

She just wants to be beautiful
She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits
She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don't see the light that's shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away
'Cause cover girls don't cry after their face is made

"I wish you would consider coming back with us. Until Father is released, there's nothing left for you in this city."

Fingers curled around the coffee cup, the paper beneath her fingertips feeling odd and out of place. Foreign, compared to the porcelain cups she used at the Sugar Cube, though the familiar aroma of hot chocolate filled her with a sense of comfort.

A soft coo brought her attention back to the conversation as she turned to watch the small child bounce up and down on her father's leg. Isabelle, or Izzy as she was fondly called, continued to clap her hands intermittently together as she took turns staring up at her doting father, then towards her pink haired auntie.

Despite having a wife and two year old in tow, Corbin Stratford had made his way down to Destiny City with two purposes: one, to personally look into his incarcerated father's affairs and secondly, to convince his half sibling to drop what remaining connections she had and return with him to Seattle.

While he wasn't the oldest of the children, Corbin was one of the closest things Prissy had to a true brother, out of all her older step-siblings. He was nearly ten years her senior, but rarely treated her as such. Even when she was being a brat (as she knew she was apt to be), he regarded her with a fondness she didn't deserve. His wife Theresa, on the other hand, had rarely shared her time for immature sister-in-laws but even she had implied an interest in taking Prissy away from it all. Maybe it was for free childcare?

Wrinkling her nose at the thought of taking care of a spawnling, Corbin mistook his sister's reaction for an answer to his comment. "It really isn't all that bad, Priss. We've got plenty of room and it's not like you'd get in the way or anything. You can do all of this... self-reliant stuff up there, but with a change of scenery."

Squeezing the cup gently, she stared at the lid as her thoughts returned to wandering. It was true - life would be so much easier if she allowed someone else to take her back under their wing. How long had she been under her father's watchful protection? Allowed him to pay for everything, to spoil her in luxuries that were quickly slipping through her fingers?

Rose hued eyes studied the chipped fingernail polish, the ragged pink contrasted against the light teal coloring of the coffee cup.

"I appreciate your concern, Corbin, I really do. But you don't need to look after me, not on top of your own family. You've got Izzy and ---"

At hearing her name, the child let out a happy squeal and kicked her feet into the air. The gesture brought a smile to Prissy's lips, even though the ear-piercing noise was anything but cheerful to her ears.

Named after Corbin's and Christopher's mother, Isabelle shared her grandmother's dark chestnut hair color, which was a stark difference from Priscilla and her mother's cotton candy coloration. An easy reminder that despite sharing the same father, Corbin and Prissy came from different backgrounds. He was raised by the same father, until Maxwell left them for his next wife.... Prissy's mother. He was raised in wealth as well, but embraced the challenge of rising up, of stepping out from behind his father's shadow. Prissy didn't even know what sort of business he ran - she just knew that he was successful in his own right, allowing his own family the ability to live as luxurious as he and his stepsiblings had.

"You are family, Prissy."

She smiled at that - it was a sweet thing to say. He even sounded sincere. But as badly as she would love to start fresh, to erase the past and begin anew in a great big beautiful new world away from the stress and horrors of her past, she knew she needed to remain in Destiny City. As cheesy as it was, it was... well, her destiny. Until the Negaverse controlled the planet and cleared the world of the pesky senshi, her task was set to remain there, to see the job through.

Seattle would simply have to wait.

"At least let me buy you some new clothes? Maybe Theresa can take you out for a spa day?"

He must have caught her staring at her fingernails.

Too prideful to comment right away, her fingers hid themselves on the other side of the cup while she had enough sense to blush. "Yeah, okay." Her voice was quiet, "That could be fun."

Corbin didn't say anything else, choosing instead to finish his own coffee as he juggled the toddler on his lap, who had taken to playing with the long fingers of his free hand, pressing her tiny hands into his palms. He had three days left in the city and it appeared as though his unfortunate step-sister was going to choose to remain in this hellhole of a city. His father wasn't going to be tried for some time - the lawyers were still gathering up their case - and she was going to be stuck waiting tables or whatever menial labor she was doing to get by.

He worried for her, but that worry would remain silent.

For now.

(WC: 576)

"Honey... ah, sugar, sugar... you are my candy girl and you got me wantin' you..."

Hips swayed from side to side as she hummed along to the music playing over the speaker system. It wasn't the usual, soft music that The Sugar Cube played but instead was more upbeat with sharp, almost pulse-like beats. Prissy didn't normally listen to such things, but she knew her best friend was a sucker for that sort of nonsense... and, well, Pandora hadn't failed her in the past, so who was she to argue with a computer generator?

Her tongue stuck out to one side as she reached up on the tip of her toes, fingers struggling to attach one of the last decorations left to pin. It had proven to be a pain to try to do most of the arranging by herself, though Danny had been a champ and assisted her at the last minute, when she'd started getting grumpy at the lack of organization (it wasn't as if she could bother Kat for it, after all).

"Be careful." Prissy turned to see the manager stare up at her sternly, one gloved hand raised in offering. She took it without a second thought, descending from the table's top and onto the booth before returning to the safety of the tile floor. Her black and red heels hadn't helped matters, but it was necessary for the evening's event.

Stepping back, she took a moment to appreciate all of her hard work and savings she'd done for the past few weeks. Arranging to reserve The Sugar Cube for after hours purposes had been easy enough - Danny was a pushover where that had been concerned. Buying all of the decor and convincing him that they should serve specific decorated treats... well, that had taken a lot more of her paycheck than she'd expected. On top of that, she simply had to buy a particular dress for the occasion that was unlike any other...

"I think she'll love it." Her tone was nothing less than triumphant.

Danny glanced down at his pocketwatch, looking rather adorkable doing so, in Prissy's opinion. "When is she coming over, exactly?"

"Any minute now."

Around them, various friends had gathered for the special event that Prissy had practically bullied into participating. Costumed events weren't exactly the most exciting things for anyone that wasn't Priscilla Stratford, but the pinkette had a stubborn streak that usually ended up with her getting what she wanted.

So The Sugar Cube had found itself transformed for the night - paper numbers and card symbols dangled from the ceiling tiles while every booth and table had been decorated to look like a proper tea party. Cakes and sweets had been prepared in a very Wonderlandish fashion while the Queen of Hearts herself, despite her clashing cotton candy pink hair, clapped her hands excitedly at the sight of the large banner that read across the front of the treats display - "Happy Birthday, KittyKat!"

"She's coming!" Someone called out from across the restaurant, clearly the assigned window watcher. White Rabbit Danny straightened up his vest while the others did likewise with their uniforms and costumes. The Queen stood regal, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she held her breath in anticipation.

As the door slowly creaked open, she was by far the loudest to holler her well wishes... for after all, who else was worth the effort of a surprise birthday party than the very best of friends?
