She paced along the empty corridor in the Negaspace Castle. Sailor Dia had come there to think - to clear her mind after the failed interrogation of the turncoat Midgard. She'd been so close, so close to getting the information she needed, only to have the little brunette slip through her fingers at the last moment. Fingers pressed deeply in her hips as she stalked down the hall, echoes of her heels resounding through the halls with every step. This wasn't right. This was all wrong. How was she supposed to go about finding someone when there was little to no leads involved? All of her friends, her comrades, no one had any clues. Pausing, a smile finally broke across her distressed expression as an idea struck her. There was one individual who knew answers when she needed them most. Someone who'd been there for her from the very start of her journey in the Negaverse. Someone she hadn't spoken to in a tragically long time. It was time to go back to the basics. Waving her hand, the purple communicator crystal appeared and dropped softly into her palm. Holding it tightly, she waited for the dim, purple glow before she spoke into it. "Grendel? Grendel, sweetheart, are you there?"

It had been some time since he had heard from the senshi he'd awakened, but that didn't mean he hadn't been casually keeping tabs on her progress. Sailor Dia thrived in the Negaverse, quickly scaling the ranks and proving herself to be quite the formidable agent. Why, she'd even secured herself a group under a general. The scrawny tabby couldn't be more proud. Though forming close bonds was... difficult after Nealite's disappearance, Grendel couldn't bring himself to stop caring about the pink-haired girl. To be contacted out of the blue was a surprise though, and his tail bristled before he could stop himself. "Sailor Dia?" He spoke, his voice a little raspy from disuse. "Are you alright?" He was assuming the worst, his claws flexing anxiously.

Immediately dropping down to one knee, her hand extended itself in offering towards the small, stripped tabby. Her smile was genuine - she truly was glad to see an old friend, all things considered surrounding her current situation. "I didn't mean to worry you, sweet pea. I just... I have some issues going on and I'm not sure of what to do right now." Pink hair fell forward as she leaned towards the Guardian, her free hand instinctively moving up to push back strands of bubblegum colored hair, along with ribbon and pearls. It didn't matter that the castle was cold and lonely, no. Grendel's presence was a reassurance she needed during these troubled times. "Labyrinthite is missing. I've heard some things about...about Wolfeite. Tourmaline's upset because Aluminite has turned to the Order side and I...." Hair now securely tucked behind her ear, the senshi moved to take her seat against the cold floor as she sighed. "I just don't know what to do." Not to mention it was starting out as one of the most dull birthdays ever.

He immediately moved forward to bump his head affectionately against her outstretched hand, a small purr rumbling in the back of his throat. His coat was much softer and cleaner than it had been when they'd first met, and Grendel had managed to put some weight back on, too. "Ah." He said quietly, his tail flicking from side to side. Well, he certainly wasn't the best at advice-giving, but he liked to think he did a decent job. Grendel remained silent as she spoke, occasionally rubbing his cheek against her. "Missing?" He spoke, a worried tone creeping into his voice. "That's... strange. I'll search for him. See what I can find." But that wasn't all. In fact, it sounded like her whole group was falling apart. His tail continued to flick, and he wriggled his hindquarters before he gently sprang onto her lap. "Don't fret. Things may seem... muddled now, and confusing, but they'll work out. Even when those leave our ranks to the Order... well, that just means we have to fight that much harder, don't we? We'll get them back." That didn't seem like it was enough, though. Grendel cursed himself inwardly, wishing there was something he could to better alleviate her worries. The only comforting thing was feeling the aura that pulsed steadily from the young sailor scout. And that's when it hit him. Grendel jerked upright, his eyes wide and his pupils narrowing to mere slits. Wait. Wait. There was something he could do! It was like a vague memory, and though he'd never done it before... yes, he was certain that this was the correct path of action. Leaping from her lap, Grendel concentrated hard for a moment, then backflipped into the air. A shimmering pen materialized, clinking gently to the floor.

She let out a small gasp as she watched the pen appear with the Guardian's flip, clattering gently against the ground. Fingers moved out instantly to retrieve the pink handle, gripping around the stick as she brought it up for further inspection. It looked like her henshin pen, only far more prettier and elaborate. This pen had sprouted black wings on the base of its orb, a silver star decorating the top. What caught her eye the most, however, was the familiar looking symbol embedded in the center of the rose pink orb sitting atop the silver pedestal. "Grendel....?" Flipping it over, she finally forced her eyes away from the pen, looking to the Guardian.

"It's time, Dia." Grendel held himself up, proud and confident. Yes, he certainly knew what to do now. "Quickly! Concentrate and say Dia Eternal Power Make-Up." She was ready-- more than ready. He may not be able to piece together her group, but he could at least prepare her for the continued struggles of fighting a war. If he could prepare her, maybe he wouldn't lose her.

Gripping the pen, she struggled to her feet. It was such a surreal feeling, it was almost as though something else was controlling her body. Something else was posing her, raising the pen up into the air. She'd transformed countless times before - for over a year now, even. But this time, it was different. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and focused her thoughts and her heart on the words. " Dia Eternal Power - Make-Up!" She felt the power washing over her, just as it did when she normally transformed. But this felt different, this felt far more powerful. Her hair billowed out, words and descriptions, more descriptions and words and she could feel a weight pressing down against her back as something spread itself out, pushing away her hair. Opening her eyes, she stared down. First, at the Guardian who watched on in proud awe and then to her attire. She'd grown, once more and it was far more powerful than the Super form that Lace had aided her in unlocking. No, this time she was Eternal Sailor Dia. Yes. This was the power she needed, to help protect her friends and fight for the sake of the Negaverse. If her General was gone, she would do what it took to get the job done in his stead, until his return. She was Eternal Dia and she would put fear into the hearts of the Order everywhere.

Though Grendel knew something extraordinary was about to happen, this was his first time seeing an Eternal senshi come into her own for the first time. His eyes were wide as he crouched against the ground slightly, awed by the power radiating from the young woman. "Eternal Sailor Dia," He started, feeling a little lost for words, but forcing himself to continue. This was no time for him to look inexperienced, after all! "I've done what I can to aid you. "You have done.... extremely well, to come this far." The once portly tabby flicked his tail, looking almost awkward. "I'm very proud of you." He admitted, stepping forward to butt his head just above the string of pearls wrapped daintily around her ankles. "I cannot do much more, if you ever need advice, or someone just to talk to..." Grendel watched her, unblinking.

Wasting no time, she leaned down and plucked her furry friend up before he had any more time to demean himself in her presence. Without him, she would have been lost - probably taken down almost immediately by the wiry blue-haired senshi she'd encountered on her first night as a Negaverse officer. While they'd had their adventures for over a year, there was no replacing someone as kind and protective as her little blue buddy. Craning her neck, she kissed the dark blue star on the Guardian's forehead. "You're the best kind of help, darling. I wouldn't be where I am today without you." A tight hug and a quick scratch behind his ears later, they were gone in a blink, leaving the cold space of the Negaverse with the intentions of finding a sweet treat to celebrate the special occasion with. Her birthday was starting to look up, after all.
