Siddie realized suddenly how close the mannequin was getting. It was almost to her fort. She loosed another arrow; it sank into the thing's hip, but didn't stop it from shuffling forward at all.

Circe had her bow ready as the onslaught of the mannequins began. Her arrow was cocked back in the string and all it took was her to aim at the mannequin now. When she locked onto the one that was going to go after her fort she grinned. "So it's you huh." Circe said before she pointed the arrow towards the mannequin. Just as when she had made that knife and tested it out on the dummy a few days back she hoped that her arrow would strike true and hit the dummy right where it would hurt. Circe kept her eyes trained on the mannequin, but took in deep calming breaths hoping to calm her mind. Which it thankfully worked. Maybe Cybele really was teaching them useful tricks after all. Not that she had really doubted the Horsewoman to begin with. When her mind was totally blank she aimed her arrow in her bow at the mannequin and shot at it. To her dismay the arrow did not injure the mannequin in the least. It also didn't knock it back. She grimaced. This wasn't looking good for her fort.

Another arrow sank into the mannequin's chest; but it shuffled into and across the field of sharp stones in front of Siddie's fort, then began to claw at the wall. The thorn vines tangled around its arms, and its clawing motions ripped away one handful of dirt, then two, and then it slowed, stopped, flopped limply across the barrier.

Siddie sat down heavily on the dirt and pressed a hand to her chest, feeling her heart-equivalent pounding wildly with alarm and adrenaline. She'd made it. She'd stopped the mannequin, and her fort was still standing.

She felt - good. It was just a temporary structure, quickly built for a training lesson, but she'd defended it successfully, crafted it well enough to protect herself. That was strangely exhilarating.

Quickly after her last attack on the mannequin Circe drew her bow after replacing the lost arrow with a new one. "Please hit." She muttered as she shot the arrow once more at the lifeless mannequin. Well, almost lifeless. To her pleasure the arrow struck it right in the thigh. She was pleased to see that it seemed to have slowed down after that attack. Though, it would have been better if it had stopped entirely. Oh well, take the small victories here Circe. She drew on the words Cybele had said just a short while ago when they had begun this. She readied her weapon once again. "Aww, are you tried?" Circe asked of the mannequin even though she knew it wasn't alive.

She shot the arrow out at the mannequin just as she had before, this time however the arrow missed it entirely. She frowned. It was getting closer and closer. Maybe it was necessary that she calm her mind like Cybele had instructed once more. Circe took in a deep breath and tried to center herself. Her thoughts drifted to Elle. She wondered if he was doing okay. Then she slapped her cheek gently. "Focus." Circe told herself. She needed this next attack to make contact. Otherwise she might be in some serious trouble shortly. Circe pulled out another arrow and began to get it ready though she still needed to draw the bow string back. "Focus on it's legs." She told herself.

After she readied her arrow in the bow she closed her eyes and calmed herself, though this time it didn't quite have the effect as the first. She was getting nervous. Circe opened them up and drew the string back, the arrow latched onto it and then she shot it out and towards the mannequin. This time it merely grazed the non-living thing but thankfully it knocked it back. She grinned. Her fort would live another round. She just hoped that she could hopefully kill it off in the next minute or two. "Please."

Circe exclaimed at her bow as she readied another arrow and pointed it at the mannequin. "Hit, hit, hit." She chanted to it.

Circe grinned this time when she shot her arrow out, it's point directed at the mannequins opposite thigh. "It worked." She said, commenting on the mantra she had made up and had told the arrow. Circe sighed a sigh of relief even though this meant that it was advancing once again. She could accept this. She just needed to hit it a little more. It was slow and injured with two arrows. "I can do this. Hit, hit once more." She said as she drew an arrow in the bow again, her hands shaking.
