YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.Yeah, sleep would have helped him out. He could feel the heaviness in his arms, and the resistance of the string against his pull. The mannequin was advancing faster than he could shoot it, and his aim was getting shakier. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.Feeling that familiar creeping dread rising inside him, Jove gave the next arrow a sharp pull before releasing it, watching it just barely puncture the mannequin's tough skin. It continued to close the distance between them. It was as though a frightbulb went off in the pup's head in that moment. If he had someone to step in when the mannequin got too close, they could probably take it down. This was how they had to handle hunters, thinking first instead of acting. Whittle down the enemy's strength from a distance, protecting your friends until it was their turn to protect you. One couldn't rely entirely on a sole archer to get the job done, but neither could one rely entirely on a sword or a knife. They fit together like interlocking pieces of a puzzle, each taking their turn at the appropriate moment. He knocked the mannequin back a step, but it no longer alarmed him how fast it was approaching. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.Perhaps for the first time since his failed attempt at mediation, Jove understood what Cybele had been trying to teach them. It wasn't all about sheer strength, or the power of one's FEAR. It meant even if he was a little weakling he could still become a powerful fighter by understanding the strengths and limitations of himself and others, and use those to their advantage. ARRGH, DEFEAT!YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.Finally the animated dummy was at his fort, trampling pinecones and breaking sticks with little difficulty. When it broke through the dirt wall Jove raised the bow like a club, an action the War teacher probably wouldn't have appreciated considering what a fine piece of work that bow was. But the mannequin batted it aside, and gave Jove such a sturdy bonk on the head he was seeing stars. He braced himself for the dissipating blow, but it never came. If it were a hunter, he'd totally be turned into a weapon now. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. As if on cue the mannequin lurched forward with its weapon drawn. Quickly leveling the end of the arrow to its chest Joachim pulled the strings of his bow as far back as he could and let go. The arrow hit the mark however broke and fell the ground leaving little to no mark. So he was off to rough start, the boil thought as frown at his handiwork. Even though Cybele had said defeat would allow for victory later Joachim didn’t want to lose so easily on the last day. Taking in a deep breath he tried to clear his mind if he didn’t think about failing maybe he wouldn’t. Once more Circe found herself on the forest floor and face to face with mannequins, and Cybele. Already she had learned so much but she still felt less than par as a fighter. But she deduced that if she kept practicing what she had been taught her and what she would be taught, that one day eventually she would be a great fighter. Maybe not ever as good as a Horsemen but hopefully close enough. She tightened the bow in her hand.
Then Cybele's final words pierced her ears. "And remember, children - a setback one day need not lead to a string of defeats. Each battle is a new opportunity for triumph." Those words sunk into her very bones as she set off to find things to build her fort. The Horsewoman was right. After every spar and battle she had, she learned something new and valuable about herself. Whether it be a strength or weakness. A smirk grew on her lips. Maybe she really was a lot smarter then she gave herself credit for.
After several minutes Circe found herself a spot about sixty feet away from her last position. This was where she was going to build the fort. Her bow could hit from this distance and it would allow her some time to get in some good damage before the mannequins got close enough to destroy her fort. That was certainly thinking smart right? After she had secured her location she went right to work looking for things she could add to her fort. A quick survey of the area near it yielded two pinecones and two thorn studded vines. She quickly retrieved the items and then began to dig at the ground to build the walls of her fort. As she mounded it up in a wall she added one vine into it's walls, so that when the mannequin got close it would be torn. Then once the wall was all mounded up she put the other thorn vine at the top of the wall so that if it tried to go over it, it would also be torn. Then she strategically placed the two pinecones at either side of the wall, building them into it ever so slightly so that if the mannequin tried to attack from either side it would also get hurt.
"Complete." Circe grinned as she took a quick look over her creation. This would surely work. Her smile quickly faded as she realized now that she was finished she would have to defend it. It was the Trials all over again. Quickly Circe went around to the other side of her wall and got her bow ready with an arrow in, and pulled. "Come and get me." She said with defiance as the mannequins were released.

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. He pulled another arrow from out of quiver as he shifted to the space on the left to change his tactic. This time instead of aiming for the chest he lined the end of the arrow to the soft side belly of the mannequin. As soon as the mannequin started to appear as if it was going to move forward Joachim let the arrow go. It sunk into the side before the mannequin swung his hand down breaking the shaft in half. A faint grin started to form on the boil’s face before disappearing into thought, he couldn’t be excited yet. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. He pulled another arrow and decided to attempt the same tactic he did before, however he held on to the arrow longer than he should have. Instead of hitting the soft side of the mannequin it was deflected as the mannequin drew its arm down causing it to roll across the ground. Joachim knotted his eyebrows together, at least it didn’t move forward instead it seemed to be a little distracted by the arrow it had knocked as its head turned and peered at the ground and then to its arm. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. He quickly pulled another arrow from the quiver and aimed it towards the shoulder of the mannequin. Letting it go flew however it fell to high and landed into the ground behind the mannequin. The opponent turned around and then started to move forward as if it had little interest in the poor shot the reaper had made. Wrinkles started to appear on the boil’s forward as he glared at the arrow that had missed his target, he was wasting time he thought as the anger of his failed attempts started to edge into his thoughts. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. He took a deep breath of air, he couldn’t let it cloud his mind if he kept letting the idea of him being defeated by a mannequin then he was sure to lose. Moving the right side of the wall he aimed at the mannequin avoiding any area that the arm natural swung in. He took in another deep breath of air and let the arrow hit the mannequin. It sunk in causing the opponent to stop moving as if the pain of the arrow was affecting him. He could feel the edge of worry still taunt him. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. He pulled another arrow out other quiver, he wouldn’t let the thoughts sit too long in his mind. Instead he shot the arrow at the mannequin, watching it as it land short and into the dirt in front of it. The mannequin appeared as if it was laughing at him as he gritted his teeth. This was definitely harder for him then shooting yesterday, he had high hopes of doing well but maybe yesterday was just nothing more than a fluke. Something like the idea of beginner’s luck in shooting a bow that wasn’t extending to the last day. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Joachim pulled another arrow and shot at him, it managed to sink into the top shoulder of the mannequin. However it almost seemed to be unaffected by it as it started to move forward. He didn’t think he would had any luck in stabbing the mannequin with an arrow if he had to come down in defending himself but he hoped that the fort would do well. He shifted his position watching the mannequin’s movements debating on what his next move should be, trying to ignore the words of discouragement from his head. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Armed, Joachim shot the arrow as the mannequin started move to the right. It sunk into the chest causing the mannequin to stumble back. Yeessss the boil wanted to do a little victory dance, but he decided that it probably wasn’t the best idea in the world to do it right then and there. The mannequin was still functional and was still able to completely destroy his entire fort let alone him if chose to move even quicker towards him. Not that the boil didn’t think he didn’t do a rather find job in constructing his fort it was still rather risky.
