He didn’t waste any time in pulling the next arrow out and shooting it towards the mannequin, it sunk into the thigh causing the opponent to fall down on one knee.

However he didn’t stay down for very long as it looked up at the Joachim pulling the arrow out of its leg.

s**t… it was sort of mad wasn’t it? Joachim thought as the question of rather it could really feel or not came across his mind. If it had been him he would have just ended up curling up on the ground crying but then again he had nerves and feelings.

This was rather a long battle, Joachim thought as he noticed his arrows were becoming rather depleted in their amount as he grabbed another one to shoot.

This time he completely missed the mannequin and instead it hit the ground next alarming the mannequin to its existences.

Mentally he was worried, he was going to lose in how long this battle was going on and if he even stood a chance in winning at this point or if the mannequin was going to destroy him.

Taking in a deep breath of air he pulled another arrow out of his quiver and hoped that this arrow wouldn't fail him completely however as he let it go he shot forward and landed in the dirt again.

The mannequin still remained where he was, as if he was taunting the reaper that he wasn't even worth the time of coming after and that he was no good of a shot.

Well as least part of that was true, Joachim thought as he pulled the bow to his face, he was doing rather lousy at the moment.

s**t... s**t.. The reaper thought as the mannequin moved forward, now he had pissed it off again.

The mannequin stopped moving rubbing his shoulder as if a bug had bit him.

He shot again, watching the arrow stick into the chest of the mannequin with a heavy thud, but it didn't stop it from moving. It was still moving quickly rushing towards his fort unwavering in fear.

Crunch...

The mannequin ran over the pine cones that were scattered across the ground in front of the fort however it didn't start to lose momentum until a stick ran through the bottom of its foot.

It paused almost as i it was staring at him and then collapsed on the ground.

He won.... he had won? It seemed as it was unbelievable considering how long it took and well it wasn't completely from his skill of bow and arrow, but never the less he had managed to at least he thought as he collapsed to the ground. Now to crawl back to the dorm.

The strix kept dodging. He tumbled backwards, he fell, but it was enough that the mannequin missed him with it's attacks. Of course he was too busy falling to strike back.

All of the lessons were connected - well, they'd been steps linked together, hadn't they? But they hadn't practiced building forts ... no, Siddie realized, that wasn't exactly true, they'd built forts in Famine's trial, with the sandcastles. But that hadn't been related.

Except that it was. Everything was related, one way or another.

The sudden epiphany almost distracted Siddie from the command to continue. She scrambled up hastily and found a spot to create a fort. Building, then defense - or - no, she thought. Building for defense. It was connected. It wasn't a series of individual acts, but rather a structure built of all the things she was doing towards this task. As she scooped out dirt to make a fortification, she picked rocks out of the dirt; the low wall she was building was given careful attention, its base made thick and stable before she patted more dirt onto the top to make it taller.

When she'd gotten the wall constructed to her satisfaction, she picked the sharpest rocks out of the rocks she'd dug up and pressed them into a pattern in the ground in front of her wall, pointiest edges up. That might help to deter the mannequin as it walked towards her fort.

She picked up the stick she'd used to help her dig and broke it into several sharp pieces; those she pressed into the base of the wall, pointing outwards. There weren't enough of them; she found another stick, broke it into pieces, and added them to the defensive line bristling out from the wall.

It didn't look quite strong enough. She frowned at it, then looked to the underbrush around the clearing. There - a tangle of thorn vines. She pulled the scarf tied around her arm loose and used it to protect her hands while she pulled handfuls of spiky vines out. By the time she was done, she had been scratched several times anyway, and the armful of vines she'd collected pickled and poked at her arms as she carried them back, but draped across the top and sides of her wall, they made a good addition to its defensive structure.

The defenses were all laid out in one direction. She frowned thoughtfully at the fort. It was true that Cybele had said that they were being attacked individually, but ... She walked over to where the Horsewoman stood, observing the construction of the forts. "Ma'am?" she asked. "Is it really okay to leave the rear of the forts unguarded?"

His dodging couldn't last forever. The mannequin caught up to Ulmuka and dealt him a heavy blow. The strix attempted a strike but was knocked back and his dagger slashed at only air.
