And here is Wojciech, the fat chubby horizontally advanced guy in the drawing.  I found that editing a base to fit the structure of the character isn't as hard as it seems. Then again, I only had to widen his body by a few pixels and remove the washboard ab-like shading thing.

Uh... sorry, can't help you there ^^; I don't really know how to set it up... there should be something in your computer's Control Panels, maybe?

No, alas, I don't know how to edit without a tablet.
Wcom Graphires are pretty cheap. I used one for a long time.

sigh i wish i had photoshop, the nearest i come is a trail version that expired 3 months ago as soon as i'd finally figured out how to use it... its the same without a tablet, just alot more fidgety whee

I had to make the outline of the hair with a one-pixel brush with 50% grey. So that's what I did. It didn't come out so good.Print Screen of ImageWhat am I doing wrong?

Looks to me like you didn't lock the transparency. Also you stayed only on the edge and didn't make any strands of hair going in. And work on your steady hand.
