It didn’t take long for Sebastian to finally haul a** to the main entrance and without tripping and killing anyone or anything this time. It probably helped that he had the squirming, cooeing Igglybuff to remind him to be careful. He came upon the fight a frown immediately crossing his face at the sight of yet another ‘Zinzolin’ character and a strange looking pokemon that looked like a cross between a tree and a duck. It was… kind of creepy actually. He didn’t immediately spot Jay, though he saw a Beedrill in the mix of the few pokemon battling and assumed that was probably Jesse. Things really didn’t seem to be going all that well…

Picking up Diaspore, and letting Lithie jump on his shoulder, Rowan looked around. He pin pointed a few sparring trainers and people in outfits much like a grunt of some sort. MD blinked, watching Rose’s response to his little joke. She… she wasn’t taking him seriously was she? She was. Oh dear… that was certainly not what he expected. Maybe he’d been just a tad bit too quick to judge between her and Marx. He gave a shaky chuckle as he reached a hand back and rubbed at the back of his neck.
"Ah no, no. Of course not. I was joking." He remarked, doing his best to quickly clear up the situation. No need to gain his first fan only to scare her off with the thought he was selling his soul out. That would certainly be funny in a memoir but right now, it wasn’t the best. He’d have to be careful in the future about that. Even Jubilee seemed a bit concerned, head tilted as she eyed Rose curiously.
"Oh?" He remarked curiously as Rose mentioned never having gone to trainer school, his smile returning. "Well that makes it even more impressive I’d say. Luck only works a little bit of the time." He replied with a grin. He was fairly certain a lack of trainer school made the whole ordeal more difficult and that Rose ought to be more proud of herself. She didn’t seem that way though, which did make him curious. For now though, he’d let it rest.
He looked thoughtful as she explained where she’d been. Fuchsia City, huh? That was interesting. "Really? Where you there checking out the Safari Zone?" He inquired arms folding over his chest. He was pretty sure that had been a thing there at one point in time, though it’d been quite a while since he’d looked into Kanto cities. He had a lot of refreshing his memory to do. "Have you considered going to the other regions? Or are you just thinking of sticking to one?" Not a lot of people region hopped he found and for probably good reason. He was a bit curious though if she ever intended to go beyond just Kalos. Maybe he’d bump into her along the way.

Sebastian shivered as a fierce blast of ice rushed through the air, a brief sense of deja vu overcoming him as he covered his eyes against the attack. He was reminded of the haunted house scenario he’d been through and immediately found himself bothered. Once the attack had lightened he took a look through the lingering haze, heart dropping a bit at the sights. There was still a frozen pokemon from before on the field -another Migthyena- but now the Beedrill was frozen solid as well. That just… wasn’t good.
"Oh no…," He murmured, immediately straightening in alarm and looking to Gin. Fortunately, she’d been lucky enough to avoid being turned into a fluff ice cube, though by the way she shivered it was clear the attack had done quite the damage to her. Which made sense, grass wasn’t very good against ice. Now he was worried.
"Gin are you okay?" He inquired with a worried tone, the Whimsicott shaking off a bit more frost before giving him a determined little chirp. It seemed she wasn’t about to let some bad weather conditions get her down, no matter how much it hurt. With a stern nod, Sebastian glanced back at the Ludicolo, blinking and noting as it seemed to munch on an item in hand. That Golurk had had a similar thing… maybe that was helping? If anything, it was a place to start.
"Gin, see if you can get in there and knock away that item it has. That might help." Gin gave Sebastian another little ‘Whimsi’ chirp of approval before jumping into the air and floating on the remaining wind currents from the blizzard attack. Sebastian had to stare a moment at that. Okay so walking still wasn’t a thing Gin was good at either, though he was honestly impressed she’d found herself a way to move about. Actually, thinking about it… she did that floating thing a lot to move. Maybe that was what worked.
In the meantime, Gin was focused on getting in close. She was wafting through the air like a piece of cotton on the breeze, just flipping and tumbling freely before finally getting close enough to the Ludicolo. With a flip she raised a paw up, it glowing a moment as she zeroed in on the leftovers and with a rather forceful SLAP, smacked the item out of the enemy pokemon’s hands. "Whimsi!" She chirped in a rather forceful tone, like a mother scolding a child before flipping back through the air to drift away a bit. There would be no more of that, not on her watch.

There was pretty much everything here, so this would be a good time to stock up and plan. His eyes flashed a bit, and he looked down at the container. "Would you mind counting out my tokens and letting me know how many I have?" he asked the attendant, pulling his bag around to start fishing out all the tokens he had dumped in there before. The man frowned a bit, and his alakazam didn't look too happy either, but, of course, it was their job, and they complied. It was just a... lot of tokens to count. As Marx dropped his now-empty bag down and returned his gaze to the options, his holo caster went off. He frowned a bit, pulling it up, brow furrowing as he read the message from Shenaiya. That was a little problematic.... He lifted his head up, frowning and typing back a response.

Devastation. That was the closest one could get to describing Mimey's expression as the flurry of snow faded. Horror was pretty close too. Jesse was frozen. Right after she had promised Jay.... Fear quickly started to become the main expression on the Mime Jr's face and she slowly lifted her gaze to Jay. Suddenly, she was extremely grateful he couldn't see. Unfortunately, she severely underestimated his powers of observation. "... Mahmy? Why can't ah hear Jes?" The question came after a short pause, but it wasn't surprising. Jesse was flying most of the time, thanks to her mega form, and especially when she attacked. There was no distinct buzzing now, though.
Jay was already starting to move towards the battle now, giving his shoulder a jerk to startle Zoey to life, the zubat giving him echo after echo so he could move, trying not to shove too many people as he tried to get closer. 'J-Jay, don't--' She probably shouldn't have said anything. The fear, guilt, and horror in her voice clearly only made Jay panic more. 'MAHMY! What the hell happened?' Mimey winced at the telepathic yell, but at least he wasn't screaming through the crowd.
'J-Jay it's okay! She'll be alright! She's just frozen--'"WHAT!?" Well that didn't last long. The psychic-fairy flinched as she hurriedly tried to weave between legs and keep up with her trainer. Jay finally pushed his way through the last of the crowd, turning his head and listening carefully to the echoes that bounced around. He couldn't find Jesse, but-- what was that? There was a form that wasn't moving... It was bigger than Jesse, more solid, but... He feltl his heart sink and moved over, nearly tripping, and hesitantly reaching a hand out. It was freezing. Frozen. "Christ, Jesse...?""Jay! Jay get out of there! You're on the battlefield!" Mimey tried to rush after her trainer, panicking. Jay wasn't listening, though, even as the psychic called outloud. He dropped to his knees, using both hands to feel over the iced figure.
It was. It was Jesse. Jay felt lightheaded. He wavered. "Mahmy what the hell?" he hissed through gritted teeth, turning his head as the pokemon caught up. Mimey quickly came to a stop, looking startled, hurt, and guilty. Jay curled his fingers, trying to dig his nails into the ice. He quickly reached down, trying to find a rock. 'J-Jay don't, they need--'"Ah don' care!" he snapped. She bent her knees, dropping down, bouncing anxiously, glancing at the ludicolo. "Okay! Jay please! Return her! Just get out of the battle field!" she begged. Jay gritted his teeth, shaking slightly, but finally grabbed her pokeball, murmuring something Mimey couldn't make out, and returning Jesse. He stood up, stumbling, and Scy appeared in a second.
He didn't touch the Scizor. He didn't reach out, he didn't say anything. He balled up his hands and moved towards the crowd, and Mimey looked around. 'Quena please--' she started, and the mouse darted out, giving her an annoyed look that hardly helped her conscience. Mimey dropped her shoulders, and her head, but hurried after Jay before he could disappear through the crowd.

Zinzolin let out a laugh as the blizzard faded, but his bark stopped as a trainer scrambled onto the battlefield. His eyes narrowed, but his attention quickly diverted to a Whimsicott that came floating in, and promptly whacked Ludicolo's leftovers away. "Col!" His pokemon gave a sound of surprised, stopping in his dancing. He stared at the dirty leftovers, then at the whimsicott, before... his eyes promptly began to water. "Colooooooo!" he wailed, clasping his hands together. His item... He stared mournfully at the item, but was promptly knocked back, staring in shock at the needles sticking to him. He looked over at the pokemon responsible, then stepped forward, eyes flashing. Suddenly another attack, this one from a sword. He stumbled back, then looked up, noticing the bird soaring into the sky. Zinzolin frowned, expression darkening. "Try and take more of them down, Ludicolo! Blizzard, then follow up with Protect!" Zinzolin hurriedly ordered.
