Meliae had been a little late getting to the festivities this time, but she was still here within time to get herself some nice treats! Well, she thought so, but her first prize was a trick instead! She frowned a little, not sure what it was supposed to be or if it was even edible. She let it slosh around in the bottle before putting it back, shaking her head slightly.
Basil was here with a caretaker from the school. They had a family, but it seemed like they were all out doing their own thing so they were on their own for tonight. It didn't really bother them all that much, with so many kids he was sure their parents were super busy! They managed to snag a thing of cotton candy along with their bucket.
Rynin decided to come to the festival dressed like a coliseum fighter! He was swishing around his foam sword, dancing around when he got to the line to get his bucket. He was a little confused by the rock already inside of it, it wasn't giving off good vibes but he didn't exactly want to get rid of it either.
Jasper was happy to be able to attend the event! They had decided to dress like a roguish figure, complete with an eyepatch and hat. Their mother said they'd join them later, but for now, they were on their own with a caretaker. Jasper was happy to see all the decorations, it was all so neat! The first item they got was even a cute orange and black bracelet!
Gilly walked up to another house, so engrossed in playing with her new little bat plushie and making its wings flap that she didn't see Soop's ears flatten or hear his small hiss of warning. She knocked on the door and bellowed "Happy Haunted Hallows!" The demon answering the door looked disheveled, as though he'd been woken up from a good nap. "Nhuh? Oh.....yeah, that's tonight, huh?" Yawning, he reached behind him and pulled out a pair of gloves filled with popcorn and candy corn for fingernails. "Here y'go; these didn't get taken last year, so.....yeah. G'night." The door closed and Gilly was left looking at the glove in surprise.
Zoe watched the demon who answered the door closely, though at least he didn't seem aggressive. But when the door closed, she made a face and looked at her glove. "Did he say.......LAST YEAR?" She sniffed it cautiously. "It doesn't even smell like food anymore!" She shrugged and put it in her pail anyway. "I'll throw the candy corn away, but I think I'll keep the popcorn to feed the birds with."
Before he quite knew what was happening, Ruari found himself engaged in a contest with another festival goer that involved creating decorative patterns in what had previously been a perfectly good balloon dartboard. The attendant had long ago stopped wringing his hands and just watched in fascination as they spelled out words, created basic shapes, and made their darts stack on top of each other. The competitor finally had to concede when he took every last dark-colored dart and made a dragon complete with piercing red dart eyes and a wingspan that took up the whole board. He winked as the crowd clapped and even the loser clapped good-naturedly before going on his way. An imp walked up to him and handed him a lollypop with a wink. "Good job, son." Ruari looked at the lollypop, unsure if it was something that befitted him, but he shrugged and smiled thanks; it DID kind of remind him of the board he strapped his volunteers to at the circus.
Green poo candy. The one time getting something green wasn't wanted. Naosu held in her sigh, and then startled when something landed on her head and squeaked at her. Slowly she reached up to extract a bat that was also green. "Naosu likes you much better." She said and put the familiar on the front of her shirt where it hung happily.
Raisins. Well, at least Essei got a stuffed toy out of it too, but why raisins? Still, she supposed it cool be worse....but raisins?!
Ichiru sighed loudly. A cheap plastic thing that could have been his favorite thing to drink out of if it had only been made better was in his pail and it was already smooshed. Maybe his mother could fix it, but he wasn't sure if it was worth it.
The puppet looked like something he'd like to hang in front of his parent's home if he thought he could do it without them knowing it was him--but then again, why would they? He'd been their good, obedient little boy. Yeah, he was totally going to do it....when he was sure they weren't home. The stuffed bat was going to be a lot more treasured. It was only the second stuffed toy he'd ever owned.
Verve spied from the corner of her eye a familiar blonde chimera and this naturally prompted her into skeedadeling to anywhere but heresville. Drat, looks like she was going to have to kiss any hope of enjoying this night goodbye as long as he was around.

Was that? Steir could have sworn he saw his fiance standing by the booth giving away cotton candy. Had that just been a trick of the light? Ugh, there were so many Nightmares dressed up it was hard to tell. He reluctantly ended up accepting some candy.

Charmstar lucked out and ended up winning a plushie. The question was whether he would keep the cuddly toy to himself and add to his massive plushie collection, or should he gift it away?
Mytrax blinked in surprise at Shard's question. "Oh, I've been studying at university. I have been away for several months now." She stared at him and wondered why he looked so upset by this. And all of a sudden a plushie was being shoved into her arms? What? Why would the baphomet do such a thing? She ended up juggling the candied apple over to Shard as an impromptu exchange.

"Uni? You've been in Uni all this time without telling me?" Shard hoped he didn't sound like he was whining. He was a little hurt that the chimera didn't think he was important enough to inform him of her graduation. He would have suggested they go out to celebrate or something. His plushie-magnet skills activated in time for him to focus his attention on something else.

And all of a sudden Wayne had a freaky-looking plushie thrust into his unwilling arms. Welp, he clearly knew who he would be giving this thing to...
"Over here! Over here~" Ami called out to her family. It was clear the flight instructor was the most excited in the group to be there. And this was Ami even before she's had sugar in her. She would glance back every few seconds to make sure her kids were right behind her and right in front of her brother.
She waved wildly as if they couldn't see her and it seemed that her arm flailing caught the attention of a familiar. An extraordinarily fluffy vespercat suddenly lunged for her fingers and with a yelp, Ami pulled her hands back down. After the initial shock wore of, Ami brightened and squealed, "Gaaaaat! Gat Gat Gat Gat Gat loooooooooooook~" she gestured for her brother to come closer with one hand while the other pointed at the orange familiar now grooming itself.

The only reason Avilan wasn't openly showing his contempt for the bakeneko's offer of the plushie was because he was within eyesight of both his mum and his Uncle Gat. He already knew how his uncle disapproved over how Avi wasn't acting the way an older brother should and yet somehow the silent judgment couldn't in any way compare to the heartbreak on his mum's face.
Ugh why is she being such a problem? whether Avi was referring to his mum or to his younger sister it was hard to tell. "Keep your dumb doll," he managed to mutter and pushed the plushie back towards Honey. But just so she didn't start crying, he grabbed a bag of candies (skull shaped and not the eyeballs in case it freaked her out) and handed those to her.

Honey didn't understand why big brother Avi didn't want the doll. It was cute! And it wasn't dumb! The neko blinked away frustrated tears and was about to run off to hug mommy's leg for comfort when big brother Avi handed her a big bag of candy! It was certainly more than she was ever allowed to have! Wide-eyed, she tugged at one of the adults giving out candies and she was given a lollipop, which she in turn passed to Avi as a thank you.
Smiling brightly at him, Honey then toddled over to where her mommy was fawning over a kitty! Oooooh!!!

There was absolutely no reason for Habagat to make a deep sigh. He was, after all, accustomed to the frantic, hyperactive tendencies of his older sister and when he meandered over to whatever it was she was trying to point out, the chimera visibly brightened. A vespercat! With a type of fur-growth not commonly seen!
Despite his excitement, he slowly, carefully got down on one knee. He wasn't going to be making any sudden movements that might startle the familiar. He wordlessly raised a hand to his sister for her to do the same. In his slow approach of the vespercat, something skittered near his leg. Risking a peek, he was even more surprised to find a flitterat!
And not just any flitterat but one with a unique mutation!
With one plushie gotten, Narra thought he was done for the night. But apparently the other nightmares had other plans. He wasn't sure why, maybe because he was a Daydream and they were trying to show they'd put their past behind them? But he was suddenly getting an arm-full of plush.

Renge wasn't nearly done with her night! She wanted to get into everything! While her brother had an uncanny attraction for plushies, the fey decided to make use of this and hung around near him. And she ended up with a plushie of her own! Huzzah! Her sister was getting something for sure~

Alright, Reegan got something for Tora, that should mean she didn't have to do anything else for the night, right? Well, no, that was wrong. There was a whole plethora of cuteness (and creepiness) happening all around her and Reegan was the sort who was content to just watch from the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Jerome was still headed for the bar. His nerves may have had him walk instead of take his skateboard. Also the streets were filled with juniors and freshlings, it was probably best he just hoofed it over.

It figures that when Trudy tried to go trick-or-treating that she would get a rock. But there was something unusual about it... It was pretty cute for a rock.
"Is everyone ready?" Trixie asked, making sure the kids were all present and accounted for. Oh what was going on between Kap and Helena? The Nixie took hold of Kap's hand and instructed "Xelva, make sure you keep hold of Helena, okay?"

The naiad crossed the street and was ushered into the gym. She had to wonder just how lucrative a business the health industry was in order for the pair to go all-out for Haunted Hallows.
She reached out to tap at one of the dangling decors when it came off in her hand. Hopefully no one saw her hastily stuff it into her bag.

Someone did see it but didn't overtly point it out. Because this was Sheist and one of his little joys was watching people he liked squirm. "Trevor and I spent hours putting the decors up. Do you like 'em, Dagger?"

Aurelia smiled and watched Meadow make the same face as the ghost she got, giggling like crazy; he looked so silly with those kissy duck lips. "Heheee! You look just like it!" She laughed so happily, eventually collecting herself as she stared at him making that ridiculous face. She was trying to think of something to do to mess with him and have a little fun....and then she blushed a bit at the thought she had. It would be great to see his reaction but she didn't want him to get all weird about 'cooties' and such. She snapped out of it when he teased that the food lady liked him better because of the plushie he was given, Aurelia still blushing a bit and sticking her tongue out at him. "Nyah, I like my ghost, so there." She giggled a bit and was heading to a table so they could sit and eat....only to see that there was a plushie sitting there with a bird skull put on its head like a mask. "Well.....that's weird."
Lural
Iolanthe decided to take a break from wandering around, sitting herself down at a bench with a plate of some more substantial food. She loved candy as much as any kid did but pizza was starting to sound really good. When she sat down at the bench she saw a poor abandoned plushie; it looked a little roughed up. Frowning she picked it up and looked it over, seeing a pack of gum tied to it that didn't look too appetizing. "Aw, don't worry. I'll take care of you." She hugged the plushie gently.
Kohaku smiled and took the treat and plushie from Raisin, praising the revenant and thanking him for being so thoughtful. Raisin looked rather pleased with himself and had backed up a bit to sit down but when he did his rear collided with a pumpkin that was sitting on the bench as well. Imagine the surprise of revenant and baphomet when the pumpkin suddenly sprung to life, looking rather scared as it darted looks around before zipping over into Kohaku's lap after being hit by someone throwing a piece of candy poo at it. The baphomet blinked in surprise but smiled and rested their hand on the pumpka. "It's alright, you don't have to be scared. Raisin didn't mean to bump into you and whoever did hat was just plain mean. You're safe with us."
Chidori had never imagined that she would be having such fun outside of the village. She had been slightly skeptical about coming to the Academy but now she couldn't imagine a place she'd rather be. She felt so light and free here and the wisp that now accompanied her, which she had named Kaguya, seemed to echo her feelings. The kumiho skipped and twirled in a happy dance, which seemed to amuse a sweets vendor because they handed her some cotton candy with a happy smile. Someone explained to her that it was sugar that was spun into light, fluffy wisps and sometimes flavored with other sweet tastes. Curious, Chidori took a piece off and put it in her mouth....and was amazed by the lightness and how quickly it melted and how delicious it was!
This was ridiculous! Tag shouldn't have to pretend to not be there just because his dumb cousin was around. In fact, the junior kirin purposely breezed past the older kirin in order to get himself... an ugly looking plushie.

Petro was observant enough to understand what his younger cousin just did. He would be lying if he said it didn't hurt, because it actually did. However, he wasn't going to do anything about it. Instead, he got himself something sweet to take his mind off it.

Kal regarded the flitterat with curiosity before welcoming it into the fold. And the next thing she welcomed into her fold was a bag of candy.
“Yeah it’s probably a good idea” Vanna stated. He really didn’t mind. It wasn’t the least offensive thing he had done this month but he’d like to keep Mai, Ren and Kingston out of trouble, even if this was hella mild. He walked a bit over to the side to lift the tent flap again. Ah it looked like the crowd was back to normal or at least this section of the festival was more tame at least. He looked back to get the others attention. “Ah well it looks like this is a good escape place.” __________________ “Well I always thought it was interesting but I’m a bit useless at things unless it comes to apparently punching bullies or dealing with plants. I actually wouldn mind leaning next year as long as I stuck to tea leaves” Mai replied and then noticed Vanna seemed to be doing something in the corner. “I think Kingston meant more of a traditional exit brother” Mai smiled but had to blink as suddenly Ren went running out to rescue the familiars he was helping to hold? This was the weirdest festival. _________________ “ah… mmm. Yeah I guess” ren stated barely containing his blush. Really the wisp was a totally coincidence. He hadn’t planned it, but then Kingston probably knew that and was just teasing Ren.. oh no he was spiraling into a place he didn’t want to go but he couldn’t help it. Luckily he was scared out of it by evil chuckling as something suddenly butted him in the stomach and stole his bag with the familiars before bouncing out of the tent from the opening Vanna had created. Ren made a weird funny looking face before chasing after it.

Salem remembered when he was young and traveling around constantly with Beltane. Each trip brought disaster and more injuries to the hallowed hybrid. It was a chaotic time where Samhain and Salem had forgotten who had been there the whole time and who had been created to cope with life. Ah well it didn’t matter. The friends they had, had adapted to both Salem and Samhain. Lace liked both of them although she got a bit sharper with Salem.
‘Their loss. You never know when you’re going to get an injury’ Samhain popped up. Ah the sap spoke. Well it wasn’t as if Nashira could hear it as it was in his head.
“I guess I could, but seriously I’m fine. I’ve had way worse injuries”
Nashira only laughed a little at that. She wondered what he and Sam had been through that made Sam want to be that prepared. Surely it wasn't just his desire to be a doctor. She didn't think doctors or healers would carry around ankle braces. But then, if they had weak ankles... Well, whatever.
"Mmmh, if you say so. But that won't stop me from worrying bout you." When they reached the skyfish catching game, she paid for a turn, and looked at all the fish. She wished she could take one home, now that she was looking at them. She caught one, and the prize she won was a vial necklace that was glowing. "Well this is cute."
Kingston:
"I may have wanted a conventional exit, bur if this is closed for the moment, leaving the way we came in is probably best." he laughed a little and very nearly tripped on a creepy marionette that was on the floor. After de-tangling his shoe from it's strings, he just threw it into his bucket in frustration.
He was about to exit when suddenly Ren took off out the flap like a nezubat out of... well... "What the?" He looked at Mai, then ran out after Ren who was chasing a pumpka that seemed to have stolen his bag. The fenekit on his shoulder was holding on tight, but suddenly something else ran out from somewhere near, or maybe it was in the tent and gave chase to the pumpka. It managed to get in front of it and blow out it's candle. When the pumpka stopped and fell asleep, Kingston could see that it was a revenant that had blown out the flame. It sat there in front o the pumpka and when the others approached, seemed to get really excited and drummed it's little paws on the pumpka as if trying to wake it back up. It got up and stumbled over it's paws and ran to Kingston, then back to the sleeping pumpka and the pilfered bag of familiars.
"Are they... ok?"
Vega:
Vega was getting tired. Maybe he needed a pick-me-up. He stopped and got a drink from one of the street vendors. They had their stand lit up with candles that were in skull shaped candle holders. The vendor offered one to Vega, it wasn't it of course. He gladly took it.
Meadow:
He was glad Aurelia found his antics funny. He was rather pleased with them himself. As they walked to the table, he saw the plushie sitting there. "I wonder if someone forgot it, or if it was there like a place holder. "That is weird. What sort of thing is that even supposed to be? Is that what a mutated elf looks like?" He was trying to look at the plush, when someone came by and gave him a bag of candy. "...more candy? I'm trying to have dinner!"
Charon:
Man, h'd been talking so much that he was starting to feel parched. He wandered around a little before a girl came over and offered him a drink. He took it with a smile, and it was in a cute little goblet. After drinking it, he started feeling kind of tired though, so decided to take a nap on the grass.
Keahi:
This festival was so great. They were holding her basket of goodies close. Maybe it was time for a game. Keahi found some sort of guessing game. You had to pick where a ball was under a cup. They played and pointed to one cup, finding a little silver ball. The prize was a sugar skull.
Parfait:
There was someone her age playing an nteresting looking game. Parfait ran over just as the baphomet freshling walked away. She looked at the game, bouncing in excitement. She was about to pick the same cup that the other kid had, but the man started moving the cups around in dizzying circles. She felt like she going crosseyed. When he stopped, she didn't know what to do! "Uh uh uh... That one?" she pointed to a random one. She really didn't know! But when the little colored ball was revealed, She squealed in delight when she was handed a sugar skull.
Fiona:
Fiona wandered around the grass a little it was all so wonderful here! She had gotten a drink in a cute little plastic cup and was on her third refill.
