YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. So again she had to use the bow. Holly was so ready for this. If it went anything like her practice yesterday than she should do okay. Should being the keyword there. The ghoul grabbed up her bow and did like she had done yesterday. Notch, pull, release. The arrow flew straight into the mannequin and knocked it back to where it had started. So far so good. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. It just kept coming. And coming. Yin was defenseless to stop it right now, and he could only watch as it continued to surge forward. He grabbed for a new arrow, quickly scanned it for any major faults, and turned his attention back to the mannequin. The bow string pulled at parts of his fingers that were not calloused. He had been able to deal with that for the most part, but he had been using the bow more today than the day before, and his fingers had already been sore. And finally they just outright protested, twitching and causing him to lose his grip. His arrow clattered to the ground and mortified he had to crouch down to pick it back up, ears and neck burning with the shame of his failure. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. After that humiliation Yin quickly loaded his arrow and shot, sending a swift plea to the Great Mantis to guide his arrow and at least hit something. That was all he really wanted, nothing major, just enough to get past the fact that he had dropped the arrow. He just really hoped that no one had seen that particular failure. The arrow flew straight, though in his haste he had not properly aimed. It barely clipped the mannequin's shoulder. Still, it turned it a bit, and was enough to cause it to falter and not advance. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Now it was time to get back into the rhythm of things. The mannequin was barely ahead of him now, and if he missed there would be no living it down. He just needed to take his time, clear his head, and shoot. Which was precisely what he did. He took up his stance and took a deep breath, exhaling and firing in one calm movement. This arrow was added to the mannequin's chest, pausing it to slow though it kept coming. YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE. Scrambling to regain her footing, Poke ended up coping another smack to her face by the doll, sending her stumbling backwards as she rubbed her nose. Okay good, it wasn't broken. She raised her sword to try and fight back, but the doll just moved out of the way. SWEET VICTORY! YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. And then it was there. The mannequin stumbled awkwardly as it approached the sharp rocks littering the fortification. Yin took the time to ready an arrow, then decided against it. If the construct made it past the barriers he had set in place he would just do whatever he needed to do. Desperate times called for desperate measures and what not. He set his bow aside, then, remembering what Mistress Cybele had said picked up an arrow. Stabbing with the arrowhead seemed ridiculous, but if it came to it he could play by the rules of using a weapon. But now the mannequin, stumbling a bit on wounded feet, had found the sharpened stakes, stepping down on one and piercing its foot. Yin winced to watch it, but at the same time there was a growing sense of delight as it set the thing off balance and it began to wobble, only to pitch forward. And land right in the middle of the thorny vines. It began to try to get up, to free itself, but each movement only seemed to make the vines somehow wrap around it more. When it began to thrash about it sealed its fate. The vines tightened, thorns digging into the leathery hide of the mannequin until the thrashing slowed and finally died off altogether. The thorns continued to dig into the mannequin, and Yin made no move to extract them. He surveyed his fortification. All of the thrashing had destroyed some of the dirt base, and the surrounding area was a mess. But he had won. He had defeated it. The small beginnings of a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth as he put his arrow back into the quiver it had some from and took up the bow to return it to the weapons rack. It was time for something else, but he was pleased with what he had learned. If he needed to hurt something at a distance, and there was a bow and quiver of arrows around, he could probably hold his own. YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. Her dagger moved quickly trying to get another strike, but the doll was having none of that. It rose the sword to catch her dagger blocking its blank face catching Sammy off guard. "Dammit just die already." She grunted before her eyes went wide. Suddenly it was moving forward punching her in the face stumbling her back backwards as the sword lashed out opening her stomach with a thin red line. Still even as she moved back she lashed out knicking the arm of the doll now holding its sword. Holly grabbed another arrow and shot it at the mannequin. This one appeared to hit like the last one had but the mannequin moved forward. Crap. YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. She was staggered still from the last attack crouching low watching the doll move closer her purple eyes flickering. She was almost tired in a way, fighting these dolls. This one was different though, it wasn't a Horsemen, but it was vicious none the less.
"I've made enough mistakes."
She twisted into reach of the mannequin, sword slipping past her cutting open her side as she pressed her back against the doll dagger slipping behind her and into it's side stunning it, she wasted no time leaning her head forward smashing it back against it's face sending it reeling.

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Holly was totally on a roll. She was very glad to have chosen the bow the other day and was glad to have it now. Others had to fight up close, she and the others with bows got to fight further away, safely behind their forts. The ghoul notched another arrow and aimed it very carefully. The arrow shot off with a twang and landed right in the middle of the target. Dang, she really wanted one of these bows back at school. Luckily the shear force of the arrow flying right by the mannequin made it not move any more forward this time. YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. The doll was still stumbling backwards from the headbutt as Sammy turned, dagger balanced in her hand pointed towards it's chest. She didn't move standing her ground waiting calmly for the doll to move closer. It's advances where slow, light swings gracing through the air narrowly missing her as she stepped back.
"I won't let you win this." The sword continued to cleave through the air as Sammy danced backwards. "You can't win. You don't deserve it." Her eyes flickered as she waited for the moment to lash out and end the fight, just one more opening...HP: 22/40 Damage Dealt: 0 Opponent's HP: 3 Damage Blocked/Evaded: Dodge! She let the arrow loose and it barely hit the thing. Her shear force of awesomeness knocked it back, preventing it from moving again. ARRGH, DEFEAT! YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE. This wasn't good, Poke knew she couldn't survive another hit, yet the mannequin was still coming for her. In a last ditch effort to defeat it, she threw herself against the doll, trying to stab the doll. But the doll was faster, moving out of the way of her strike and pulling it's stubby arm back for a final blow. It send her sprawing backwards, and shew knew that her FEAR sheild had shattered, leaving her laying on the ground. "Dam...." She flopped on the ground, angry that she wasn't able to defeat the doll.
