Riley listened carefully to the instructions for today's lesson, but when she was informed that she would have to use her bow again, she cringed slightly. That was not the option she'd been hoping for. She eyed the daggers longingly, before bending down and preparing her fort. Pinecones and sticks nearby made an excellent set of teeth in front of her fortifications, and she settled down with her bow and arrow, testing the string over and over as she waited for the fight to begin.

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.As Sheridan knew it would, the dummy was all to quick to rise to its feet again. He had to be swift, but aware, rushing was the worst thing he could do. The arrow notched into the bow string, he aimed, and fired. The arrow pierced the dummy's torso, closer to the abdomen than previous shots. The dummy folded over, collapsing to the ground for another precious moment. So, today would be their last class. Poke had immensely enjoyed herself during Cybele's classes, and the knowledge she had gained was invaluable. Perhaps in the future, she may be able to return to study more? For now, she would focus on their last lesson, which appeared to involved building their own fort. She couldn't help but grin at the idea. Now only would they get to build a fort, but they still got to fight.
As instructed, the dragoness picked a spot to begin building. She had no qualms about getting onto her hands and knees, digging into the earth with her bare hands to develop a deep enough trench from which she could bunker down in. When the trench was finished, she moved around, trying to find items that she could use to shore up her defenses. Of course there were plenty of sticks (when were they not), but she managed to find herself some sharp rocks, and a pinecone to boot. Quickly she assembled them around her fort, and then waited for the mannequin to be released.

YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE.The mannequin charged again with its own sword, while the ghost, who was a little threatened, turned tail. He did try to slow the dummy down, throwing a few pine cones here and there as he ran through the forest, trying to evade the doll brute. Though the thing was as fast as ever, and when it caught up, sparks flew as their swords clashed. The ghost tumbled backwards at the mannequin’s attack. It was strong, perhaps too strong for the young ghost. YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE.The mannequin took another hack at the ghost, it’s sword being deflected as it slid down the slimer’s sword. The ghost made its attempt in trying to take the mannequin down, slashing and thrust at its body, but the mannequin was quick. It blocked and deflected each attack, and returned its own. The counter attack eventually hit. The weapon cut through the ghost’s defense, and at the slimer’s arm. It was deep. The ghost could only grimace at the pain, and hold his sword in defense. “I’ve got a feeling this won’t end well for me.” HP: 25/30 Damage Dealt: 0 Opponent's HP: 20 Damage Blocked/Evaded: No Previous Posts: Fort Post, 1 Post, 2 Post 3 Post 4 Post Post 5 Post 6 Post 7 Post 8 Post 9 Post 10

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. And so, the battle began. The mannequin lumbered towards Riley once more, and she strung her first arrow, determined to give it time to aim before letting it fly. She wanted to at least try to show improvement from her first attempt with a bow and arrow.. whether the instructor was watching, or not.
The arrow sunk into the mannequin's arm, nearly ripping the appendage off - but it continued to bumble forward regardless.

YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE.Their swords clashed, the slimer was on the offense as it lunged with his sword, and missed the mannequin’s head. But the ghost was quick and it followed with a quick slash at the neck, and then another thrust at its body. His attack was quick enough that he made a cut at the mannequin’s ribs, if it had any. With their bodies close, the mannequin couldn’t counter with its sword, but it still had a free hand, which was curled into a fist. It struck the ghost square on the cheek. The ghost stumbled back and nearly fell, but planted his sword down to keep himself up. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Barely satisfied with her first shot, Riley brought up a second arrow and aimed it further to the left. She overcompensated, and the arrow went flying easily past the mannequin, with no harm done. Her hand crunched the wood of her bow for a moment, but she remembered the instructor's words. They echoed in her head, returning her to peace. Her hands loosened against the bow, and she breathed in deep.

The arrow struck, knocking the target back and off its feet, but he had not put enough tension on the string before releasing, and the arrow bounced off the target and embedded in the ground behind. After returning what calm she had begun the match with, Riley once more aimed her arrow carefully, and attempted to aim less to the left, but still more than her first. This time, her arrow sunk into the opposite arm, doing the same amount of damage as her first arrow. The mannequin continued forward without issue, but she could tell both of his hands were now immobile. YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE.The slimer charged. He growled in anger and out of frustration. His sword raised above him, and held with both arms. A bad move realized, as the mannequin stepped a little closer and raised a foot up, and against the slimer’s chest, knocking him back down to the floor. The slimer writhed in pain, clutching at his chest, as he rolled away and on to a knee. The mannequin charged with its own attack, and the ghost returned the favor, as it stepped forward for a kick of his own, though this one struck the dummy at its gut. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Her next arrow hit the mannequin in an odd position - she'd given it less power than normal, and it soared down into the mannequin's foot. While it did less damage, the mannequin was now stuck to the ground, and had to pause to rip the arrow out before it could continue. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. And as usual, all victories came hand in hand with defeat. She tried to simulate her last shot, but her arrow fell short this time, and landed right in front of the mannequin. He walked over it and continued towards her as if nothing had happened.

YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE.The mannequin didn’t go too far. It made its advance with its sword and slashed at the slimer downwards a few more times, but it was too slow. The ghost was able to deflect each attack, letting it drive down away from him and into the ground. It allowed him sometime for some kind of counter attack, a minor cut on the very arm the dummy was using. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. He was close. Too close. Riley was disturbed to find that she could see the details of the mannequin now that he was only a few feet away, and her hands stumbled as they grabbed the next arrow, aiming it quickly and letting it fire. He was close enough that the bad aim still hit, but only just barely nicking his side. It didn't stop his movement in the least, and Riley started to worry that her fort was about to fall.
