YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. The reaper kept his gaze fixated on the mannequin, watching its every move. Depending on what it did, it may end up telegraphing its intentions without really knowing. It was that sort of thing that he was looking out for. If he could see it ahead of time, he could exploit it. And in a way, he was able to. But not as much as he would have liked. Shun moved out of the way of the mannequin's strike, following it up with a cut to its side. However, his movements were a fraction of a second too slow as it already was in the process of moving away. Barely the tip of the blade scratched into the object this time around. If it were a fleshy being, it might have drawn out the slightest trickle of blood. Otherwise it'd probably be not much more than what a papercut would be. It was a good start, however. YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. Shehk panted, having fallen back a bit to catch her breath, looking annoyed. Why couldn't she actually hurt this thing all of a sudden? Had she gotten the Invincible Hulk-dummy? O something like that?
She wouldn't have put it pass the Horsemen to have an invincible dummy. Yeah, it sounded about right.HP: 18/50 Damage Dealt: 0 Opponent's HP: 5 Damage Blocked/Evaded: Yes Previous Posts: FortAttack 1 Attack 2 Attack 3 Attack 4Attack 5 Attack 6 Attack 7 Attack 8Attack 9

YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. Tonight's journal entry would read 'Dear Ground and Training Dummies: We are not friends'.
No really. She'd go fill out her journal right after this fiasco because it was ticking her off a bit. A lot of bits. She wasn't hitting the dummy.

YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. Even as the mannequin moved away from his last attack, Shun continued to watch it, checking for signs of any movements that would hint at what it was about to do. In a sense, things were almost moving slowly as his focus was soley on his enemy in this. Seeing the mannequin begin to move to the side, he stepped forth to make his own strike, taking a slightly more aggressive stance for this 'turn'. He barely missed the mannequin. And out of the corner of his right eye, he could see the leg of the thing coming up, aiming to strike him. Quickly, he ducked down, feeling the rush of wind of the kick blowing over his hair. It was a close call to say in the very least. HP: 34 Damage Dealt: 0 Opponent's HP: 8 Damage Blocked/Evaded: Yes Previous Posts: Fort || Round 1 || Round 2 || Round 3 ||

ARRGH, DEFEAT!YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. Crunch.
Shehk went down with another blow from the dummy, her speed and prediction of its movements having failed her again. Disappointment was shown clearly on her face as she sat on one knee, panting. Her FEAR shield was gone.
She was spent for this task and for it she was very disappointed.
She hadn't put up as good of a fight as she'd wanted to. Or could have, even. It had been a painful tango that had been mostly her failing. Still, the dummy went still, leaving her in the remains of her fort and with sore muscles, curses in her mind. All of them.
Curses of her inability to actually do what she'd intended. Curses. All of them.
She'd failed in her task for the last day of class. Which meant when she got home she was going to want to try something similar with what was around Amityville. It was a flawless plan, really.
But first, she needed to catch her breath.HP: 0/50 Damage Dealt: 0 Opponent's HP: 5 Damage Blocked/Evaded: NOPE Previous Posts: FortAttack 1 Attack 2 Attack 3 Attack 4Attack 5 Attack 6 Attack 7 Attack 8Attack 9 Attack 10 Attack 11 Attack 12

YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE.The mannequin was throwing another attack her way, and the cat-girl tried to block it since she knew she couldn't take many more of these attacks. She was too slow, however and took another blow, getting knocked back into the dirt. As she fell, however, she lashed out viciously with her sword, slicing the mannequin across it's ugly stomach. Kemnebi struggled to her feet; she had two more chances to kill this thing before she passed out. She had to make her next attacks count. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. And so the battle had begun. Alexander himself was feeling pretty excited about everything. This was it, the final class, and a chance to prove just how far he'd come in his few short days here on the island of war. It was hard to believe one could learn quite so much in such a fleeting amount of time, but Alex's last five days had been crammed full of training and exploring and classes. He had done and learned more from the horsemen of war then he could have ever hoped, and now it was time to put all of that knowledge to the test. It was really too bad that, in all of his eagerness, he forgot the all important step of taking the time to meditate and center himself. So, as the mannequin marched towards him, Alex quickly bent down to grasp at an arrow, lifting it up to nock to his bow, draw back, and release. He had done it all too quickly, the string had grazed against his arm, and he could see that the arrow, instead of gliding gracefully through the air, was instead wobbling, rocking in the breeze that caught it and barely grazing over the mannequins left shoulder, though by some miracle that made the dummy stumble backwards. Alex cringed, hunching his shoulders slightly. If he was trying to prove himself to the clansmen, he was doing a really, really poor job of it. Who was going to be impressed by that? YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. This time Alexander was determined to take his time, to think things through. He reached down and grabbed for another arrow, carefully nocking it to the bow this time as though if he did it any more carefully and precisely that make all the difference in the world. He then lifted the bow up alongside his face and sighted down the shaft. Drawing back the string until he felt he could draw it back no further, he took a couple more seconds to aim, and once again, released. This arrow flew through the air with quite a bit more grace then his first, though again, Alex had forgotten to center himself before hand, and now he was just over thinking things. The arrow met it's target, burying itself in the mannequins lower arm but doing nothing to slow it down or damage it in any sever way. Pressing his lips together in a firm line, Alexander felt slightly upset. This was not how he had expected things to begin, after his success with this weapon in class the day before. He had made a couple of small mistakes then, yes, but he had thought that he had learned from them, that he had overcome them. Today was not at all starting out like he had hoped it would. What was he missing? What key aspect of all of the days training was he forgetting? YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. As Shun straightened back up from ducking, he stepped forth and brought the dagger close to himself before aiming to plunge it deeply into the ribcage area of the mannequin. It worked out pretty well, as he felt his blade sink in rather nicely. Not wanting to linger where he was and leave himself open to attack, he spun back, pulling his weapon out in the process. It was just in time too, as he leaned his head away from a strike sailing right past his face. Any closer, and he might have had his head knocked pretty hard there. The Reaper saw a few more moves coming at him. He bent away from another punch to the face, blocked an incoming kick to his side, shifted back from another strike towards his chest, then flipped himself back to put a bit of distance between himself and his enemy. Now that he was a few feet away from the mannequin again, he crouched back down, holding his dagger out before him with the blade pointing somewhat towards the animated thing. He was watching. Once more. HP: 34 Damage Dealt: 5 Opponent's HP: 3 Damage Blocked/Evaded: Yes Previous Posts: Fort || Round 1 || Round 2 || Round 3 || Round 4 ||

They were back in the clearing, and Yin watched as light filtered through the trees, spraying light across the upturned dirt. There was something just soothing about being in the forest, but the canvas cloaked mounds were not tremendously reassuring. It was easy to guess what lay under those. She was speaking about potential. Some of them had it. Some did not. And while he did not necessarily approve of all that she had been teaching he could not help but hope that he was included in those that at least held a glimmer of potential.
He took note of what she said, though her voice was the type that demanded attention whether he wanted to give it or not. Weapons, mannequins, these were familiar. Tasks that they set to children? Also familiar. Building a fortification? Not...quite so familiar. Immediately his eyes began darting around, looking for what he might use. The dirt seemed obvious, but the forest offered other options as well.
When they were dismissed he immediately headed out to scavenge for materials. He began to reach for a pine cone to stud his fortress with but something stopped him. For the strangest, lingering moment he was thinking about his trashbot and his hand wavered. No, not pine cones. Though those sticks over there looked to have sharp points to them. Arranged properly they could do some significant damage.
Somewhat like the sharp rocks littering the area. Stepping on one by accident caused a sharp intake of breath, yes, those could certainly do damage. He was about to head back to the dirt when some snarl of thorny vines caught his eye and he carefully extracted two.
Constructing the fortress took some time. He was careful to shore up the dirt, embedding the sticks, pointed ends facing up, at regularly spaced intervals. The rocks he scattered, wishing that he had more but determined to make do with what he had. Then, over the entire barrier of dirt, he draped the thorny vines, stepping back to look over his work critically. It would do.

YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE.She was too slow. She was taking way too much damage. Where was a bloody beehive when you needed one? She thought as she stabbed wildly at the mannequin. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. And then suddenly it hit him, like a blow to the gut. He was forgetting the most important thing, the thing that was taught during his first class, and that he had somehow managed to do so well. Meditation, center, balance. That's what he was missing. With a nervous laugh he reached up and ran a hand over his face. How could he have been such an idiot? Letting the hand drop, shaking it out at his side, he exhaled all of the air in his lungs that he didn't need, closed his eyes, and became still. For a few short seconds he let his thoughts go, let them all fade away as he cleared his mind and let his senses expand outward. He could feel the warm and humid breeze against his skin, feel the precipitation as it beaded and cooled along his undead skin. He could hear the sounds of the jungle, the drone of insects, the screeches of distant birds, and somewhere, far away, he could even make out the faintest sounds of waves lapping against the island shore. When his eyes opened, he smiled. He was ready now. Reaching down he pulled out yet another arrow, raised it to the bow, held it in place with two fingers as he lifted the bow to his face and drew back the string once more. Smooth movements, almost as though he had been doing this for years and not just for the second time in his unlife. Taking careful aim, waiting for the breeze to die down, he let loose the arrow with a sharp twang of the string. The arrow cut through the air, speeding towards it's target, taking it full in the center of it's chest and causing it to stumble back several feet. That, was more like it. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. The thunk of the arrow as it sunk into the target was strangely satisfying, and Alex wanted to hear it again. So he stooped, leaning his tall and oddly skinny frame down to reach for another arrow. The mannequin was on it's way back forward again, attempting to make up the ground it had lost with Alex's last shot, but he didn't want it to get any closer, he just wanted it to be knocked down and out. Nock the arrow, raise the bow, draw back the string, sight, aim, release. It was all so easy now that he had the hang of it, and now that his mind was centered, focused. But what he neglected to notice was that the arrowhead at the end of this particular shaft was dull and broken, not suitable for doing appropriate damage. And so, as the arrow once again arched through the air, and while it hit the target hard, it only resulted in making the dummy stumble back to where it had been once again. Alex felt a mild sense of annoyance, knowing that with a properly crafted arrow he could have done some actual harm to the mannequin. The annoyance was directed purely at himself for missing what would have been obvious for others to see. He brushed the thought aside for now, however, knowing that he could not afford the distraction, that he needed to do what he could to get this done, and thinking like that was doing nothing towards meeting that end. SWEET VICTORY! YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. The entire time, Shun had been controlling his breathing, keeping his focus locked down. His eye narrowed as the mannequin began to move towards him once more. As it drew near, his eye scanned for the best place to strike this time around. From what he could tell, it didn't have a whole lot left in it. Just as it was about to reach him, he moved forth, aiming to end this battle right here and now. He grunted as he felt the knee of the mannequin striking him in the side, but that didn't stop the reaper. No, instead, he continued on until he had managed to sink his dagger into the 'heart' of the object. For several moments, they stood there, locked in position until the mannequin slumped over, defeated. And that was it. Shun drew in one final controlled breath before he lowered his weapon and relaxed himself.
