YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE. Yup, the mannequin was defiantly hitting harder this time. As she tried to lift her sword to defend herself, it side stepped and again threw it's arm at her. Copping a hit in the stomach, Poke tried to resist the urge to double over as she swung her sword, dealing a nice cut to her opponent. She growled in frustration, knowing that she had to finish it off quickly before it finished her off. YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE. Poke swung at the mannequin again, managing to knick the doll in the arm, before bouncing back with her sword raised to keep it from attacking her back. Build a fort, survive. Those were todays objectives. Sounded simple enough. Holly dug into the ground as quick as she could to get herself some walls built. Walls, and hopefully more than one, would be a good thing for such a fort. She imagined it wouldn't be much of a fort without any walls. Once the walls were completed well, it didn't feel done. Other students had used things they found to fortify it. Sounded like a plan.
Holly went and scavenged as best she could in the short time they had. She returned to her fort with some pointy sticks, a prickly vine, and two pinecones. The ghoul stared at what she found for a few moments then went about placing then around the forst. The vine she laid on top of the wall, making it difficult to get over. The sticks were stuck to the outside of the wall. The pinecones were laid in front of the wall, best watch those feet!
HP: 5+1+2+4+1=13

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Well, that arrow had not gone as well as he would have liked. If he did not land a solid hit it seemed to do little to the mannequin, and at this distance it was hard to necessarily choose where he hit it. He brought up his bow once more, carefully aiming before easing his fingers off. The arrow left and seemed to be flying true when a breeze picked up, knocking it ever so slightly off-center. Yin watched in disappointment as his arrow once again only nicked the mannequin, but at least it held it back. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. The breeze that had picked up was not dying down so easily. It felt wonderful, stirring the air just enough to cool slightly, not that the weremantis was beginning to sweat. It would take much, much more for that to start up. However, it did mean that shooting now would be foolish, he was not nearly good enough to properly account for the breeze. The mannequin was not affected by the breeze though, and was starting forward. There was only one real option. Sit and do nothing or fire and hope for the best. He attempted to account for the breeze, shifting where he was aimed but the arrow went wide, effectively accomplishing nothing other than the waste of an arrow. YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE. This time, she tried to side step the doll, hoping to slash it across it's midsection. She was able to do so, but the cut wasn't as deep as she would of hoped. It then raised it's own leg into her gut, and she really did double over this time. Her FEAR shield was able to prevent her from getting seriously hurt, but it didn't stop the attack from hurting. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. The complete miss of the target did not make the mantodae happy. It was a failure, pure and simple. He brought the weapon up, drawing back and holding, waiting for the perfect moment. Finally there was a small break in the breeze and he fired immediately. He had not done his standard exhale, and the shot was not as perfect as it could have been. Still, it struck the mannequin's chest, piercing it solidly. Looking slightly more like a pin cushion the mannequin pressed on, determinedly advancing. YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. The doll wasted no time stomping towards her fort sword in hand. It's steps faltered as it hit the stone caltrops giving her a chance to chuckle at it's failure, but it didn't stop. Where other dolls had been beaten with bee's and simple faints this one was different. It was angry, it seemed to be pushing it's self harder then the others as it finally reached the wall. Spikes stabbed into it, but it didn't hesitate smashing spikes and pinecones aside with its sword before bringing a foot clean through the ********." Was all Sammy could say.
Just as the dirt wall dropped did the mannequin swing its sword at Sammy. Thankfully the wall left her enough time to jump back sword hitting and lodging in the dirt that was once her fort. She moved forward in turn dagger lashing out at the mannequin arm opening the side open.

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. He needed to stop the mannequin from advancing. It was getting closer with each passing moment, and he had barely damaged it. Grumbling inwardly he reached down to get another arrow. Upon examination of this arrow he noted that some of the feathers on the end were damaged. Were they decorative like the feather he had added to the knife he had made? Or were they important? Glancing around he eyed any Horseman he could lay his eyes on. They seemed to enjoy decorating with feathers, so it was not likely that the feathers were crucial. He drew back the bowstring, aimed, and fired. The arrow sailed through the air, and dropped toward the ground the entire way until it landed literally right in front of the mannequin. It tried to shuffle forward and stubbed what was supposedly its foot on the arrow, breaking its stride and keeping it at a distance. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Apparently the fletching on the arrow was important. Yin was more careful as he selected his next arrow, putting it to the string. He was not doing enough damage, and there was no way that he would halt the mannequin at this rate. He closed his eyes briefly. Let the mannequin come closer. Damage was more important right now. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, relaxing. He knew could feel his Fear in his body, latent. Nothing to be used now, but there. He did not reach for it, no, if anything he seemed to somehow soothe it, feeling more sure of himself as he did so. He had learned how to do this, and he could learn how to destroy this creature as well. He opened his eyes to note that the mannequin had moved even closer. Raising the bow and pulling back the arrow in one seamless movement he took aim, exhaled, and released. The shot was true, striking the mannequin in the stomach and puncturing it until the arrow was half-buried in the structure. YOU HAVE MY DAGGER - IN YOUR FACE. The mannequin didn't hesitate though, its arm was slit open and worthless so it simply switched the sword to its other hand drawing the sword out of the dirt moving to lunge at Sammy. The attack was quick and without warning, she didn't realize how strong the doll was. Her dagger barely hit the sword, but it didn't work properly has it bit her side. Still the doll was in range and she took the time to gash it's face open.

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Well, that had worked. Feeling more sure of himself the boil readied his next arrow. The mannequin was starting to hurt, and now he needed to work on holding it back. Or doing more damage, he would accept either really. He drew back, held steady for a moment, and shot. The arrow seemed to catch some stray wind, tipping it. It barely pierced the mannequin's foot, but it passed through and into the dirt below, pinning the foot to the earth for a moment and holding it back. YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE. "JUST STAND STILL SO I CAN KILL YOU!" Of course, the doll didn't stand still. So poke charged again, swinging her sword more wild this time out of sheer annoyance. If she ever saw another doll again, she was going to shred it to pieces.
