DM Super Sadalsuud

Maybe it was the various different conversations, or maybe her distraction as she stood there still hovering awkwardly, but she hadn't heard the scratching.

Well at at least not initially she hadn't - but then she thought that she'd heard someone mention something about there being something beneath them and for a moment when she'd paused to try and listen Sadalsuud had thought that she'd heard something - although she'd mentally told herself that it was her imagination and had tried to dismiss it–

The sound of cracking that had occurred shortly after had been impossible to dismiss, the sound bringing unpleasant memories of the last time Mirrorspace had cracked apart and the sudden wash of cold hadn't helped either.

Sadalsuud bit her lip green eyes stared at the cracks spreading across the floor and was still staring in horrified fascination as a crystal-looking talon punched through the floor - a talon that was followed shortly after by the biggest wraith that she had ever seen started to claw its way up from under the ground.

She probably couldn't have moved even if she had tried, so it was probably just as well that one of the two senshi who she'd been awkwardly speaking to
(Tegmine) had had the presence of mind to tug her after him, her feet stumbling after as they ended up by the wall.

The senshi mentioned that Miss Acubens was breaking the glowy mirrors before heading towards some nearby mirrors - and well Miss Acubens was a lot more experienced with mirror things and certainly more experienced than she was.

Sadalsuud hesitated, green eyes glancing uncertainly around as she tried to spot the other senshi that had been near her
(Loke) when the wraith - which by now had finished clawing its way up - had first started punching its way up through the ground before ultimately starting to make her way towards the nearest set of glowing mirrors.

Started, then after a few steps forward, almost bumped into another super senshi - one with pink on pink streaked hair
(Arnica).

"I'm sorry" she said, pausing as she wavered for a moment before awkwardly calling on her magic "Clover's Luck" and holding the resulting glowing four-leaved clover out almost as an apology.

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack: Clover's Luck
Sadalsuud calls on her magic which takes the form of a medium-sized glowing four-leaved clover. Sadalsuud has a few seconds to either give this clover to an ally or choose to keep it for herself and then the clover will glow and disappear.

Magical effect: Whilst the effects of the magic is not immediately apparent, the magic will boost the target’s luck for the duration of the attack. This allows for an attack (physical or magical) to hit better than expected (for a boost of 10%) or for their dodge to be improved (for a boost of 10%). The magic will do one or the other. It will not do both.

Target: self or 1 ally
Duration: 15 seconds
Usage: Twice, but not on the same person

Super Sailor Morpheus

Morpheus watched as the floor was broken by the creature that had been trapped somewhere he really felt like his sphere of on display here it was all so surreal. He dodged out of the way of some of the glass that went flying and was cut by other peices. He was annoyed that he would likely get another scar when he already had one over his eye that he didn't remember how he had gotten. He frowned at the weird rat octopus thing and shook his head. "Really really?" He muttered to himself. Morpheus didn't want to get taken down by this thing so he figured he would attack with everyone else. He cocked his eyebrow watching someone attacking their own faction or so it seemed, but then they didn't appear harmed by it, so he returned his attention to the creature, but he wasn't certain his magic would even affect it. He decided to try a normal attack first to see if it would work. He blew his dust in the direction of the creature to see what would happen.

Sailor Scout Attack: Morpheus' Cinders
Range: 6~-8', dependent on wind conditions
Duration: 30 seconds
Use Count: Useable 3x without energy replenishment.
Miss Chance: Morpheus' attack can miss based on wind blowing the dust in the wrong direction, a character jumping out of the way, or shutting their eyes / shielding the face.
Effect: Morpheus can either wipe his forehead or touch the dust-laden ribbon of his uniform to summon a handful of soot. He then throws it toward the target (hence the variability on range), and if it strikes them in the eyes or face, the attack will take hold. It does not sting the eyes as one would expect of soot. From then on, the afflicted character will interpret the world with blended elements of stream of consciousness / dreaming. These elements are entirely up to the player - for example, they may see someone's face taper into a trombone, or watch a battle taking place upon a lake that's dripping upward onto the clouds, or that Destiny City has become a sphere encasing the entire battle, and looking upward reveals the rooftops of buildings on the other side. Any blended elements are free reign here - sights, sounds, tastes, feelings, and smells are all viably manipulable components in Morpheus' attack.

However, this magic can only augment parts of people - it cannot change the whole.

Eternal Kiuchi

When the floor broke apart, piecing going in every direction, Kiuchi found his uniform slices and thin red lines forming against his skin. The cuts stung and burned as blood dripped and dribbled and stained the dark clothinghe wore. It wasn't too bad but the suddeness of the cuts and the sting was much like a really bad papercut. "Damn it."

So maybe everyone gathering wasn't a good idea, and it was a good thing not everyone was together, as the wraith which decided to claw it's way up from the floor was massive. Not only was it large, and obviously not keen on taking orders from anyone, but it seemed to be in need of energy for some reason. That energy was from the glowing mirrors and watching as others started to break them the senshi of gorgon's decided to try and distract the wraith. He didn't know how well his magic would work on it, he had no way of knowing, but he knew it worked on youma.

"Gorgon's assault!" Sending what looked like a glowing green hair towards the wraith before he went to help with mirror breaking. "Rana! Be careful." Shouting over towards where he saw his sister already at work on shattering mirrors.

It looked like mirrorspace was out to test them again and try and do them some manner of harm, did it ever just want to be nice to them? Maybe give them things...like maybe fill these white hallways and rooms so it didn't feel like some sort of asylum? Somehow he doubted it would ever do that or provide them personal rooms which they could acess...or even make this place really nice and toasty warm in the fall and winter. It just wanted to hurt them.

"This wraith isn't normal..." He commented as he passed by someone, he wasn't paying attention to who was around, as he made for another mirror to break.

Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Gorgon's assault.
Like the last attack Kiuchi will pluck a "hair" from his head that glows green. This time that single "hair" multiples into three glowing "hairs" before rushing forward toward three individuals this attack has a six foot radius. Again someone else can move into the way and be hit or a person can avoid the attack by stepping out of range. Getting hit by this will leave a person feeling feverish and sick to their stomach as well as possible blurring vision. The attack will only last for thirty seconds and during this time not moving, or doing so slowly, is advisable as one might make themselves even sicker due to moving, other outside things can of course increase the sick feeling.

Super Arnica

When Sadalsuud bumped into Arnica, he was expecting either collapsing architecture or another horrible wraith--she was a pleasant surprise.

“No, it’s fine,” he said quickly; he was doing his best to keep himself stabilized, and even after she used her magic on him he tried to brace himself for the unsteady flooring and reached out to hold onto her arm. “--Are you okay?”

He didn’t know what her magic did--but he didn’t need to. He felt something in it, something powerful. Something reassuring.

He wasn’t going to wait for the giant wraith to decide to make snacks out of them--especially when a few members of the Court were attacking the mirrors it seemed to be distracted by.

Arnica didn’t want to waste his magic, but he didn’t want to be the target of a wraith, either. Especially not one that big.

He didn’t know if his magic would have any effect on it, but he hoped it would be enough to at least distract it until someone could figure out what to do.

...He had a good feeling about this, after all.

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack: Arnica Sprout
Arnica waves his hand and a three foot ring of Mandragora flowers sprout around a single target within his line of vision. Anyone caught within this ring will immediately feel themselves falling subject to Mandragora poisoning, which can include blurred vision, dry mouth, dizziness, headache, nausea, feeling flushed, vomiting, increased heart rate, hyperactivity or hallucinations. Players do not need to feel all of these symptoms but should be subject to at least two for the duration of his magic, but it is up to their discretion which symptoms they inherit as well as how severely they are affected by them. The target can leave the ring of flowers but will still feel the symptoms until the duration ends. He can use this magic three times and it lasts for 25 seconds.

Prince Remarque

Remarque’s mouth hung open in brief protest, but he already knew it was too late to get a grip on the Court. He didn’t think it was a smart idea to start smashing up mirrors or start attacking the wraith, but given that there were so many in the Court that had already lashed out, the smartest thing to do was destroy the wraith before it could attack any of them.

It wouldn’t have been the first time he’d gone up against a giant wraith, and the only reason why he was even remotely concerned now was because he didn’t want any of the Dark Mirror Court to be hurt by this thing, and he didn’t know what was going to happen if the floor gave out beneath them.

Between the Court or the wraith, it was an easy choice; Remarque didn’t use his magic often, but he had a good reason to want to keep the wraith still for as long as possible.

A broken wraith was better than a broken floor, and maybe they'd be able to make use of some of that energy it seemed to have collected.

Quote:
Senshi Magic: In the same way that the first attack consisted of strings fastening on the target, this attack does the same, however lasts for twenty seconds. The radius shrinks in size, preventing the target from moving further than four feet from where they stood when the strings attached. There would be a greater sense of discomfort and the strings would cling tighter, making movements choppier and more difficult for the target to control.

DMS Super Lacerta

Lacerta wasn't expecting a giant, wraith to emerge from the shattered floor in which she and the rest of the Dark Mirror court stood on but she wasn't one to gawk at the unfortunate looking creature. Instead she merely nodded to Remarque's instructions to stay close. It wasn't a hard instruction to disobey. There was no way that Lacerta wanted to get close to whatever misshapen wraith this thing was, so when it started to go after those mirrors that seemed to be glowing with energy she let out a sigh of relief.

The cold air in the room had her rubbing at her arms for about a minute before she steeled herself for an unpleasant evening. There was no way that she was going to destroy the mirrors that the creature seemed to be going after. At best they were proving an invaluable distraction. As long as the creature's attention was on the mirrors, those spread around the room seemed safe. Watching as Remarque moved in to attack the wraith, Lacerta hung back for a few precious seconds before activating the magic of her stone ring. She'd try to batter the anatomy and dart away again before regrouping. She knew the limitations of her ring and didn't want to get carried away.

She kept an eye on the wraith as she darted in to strike at it's body. It was a risky gamble but she felt as if someone had to act in tandem with Remarque.

At first, the wraith was too distracted trying to absorb the energy from the glowing mirrors. It didn’t even seem aware of the Dark Mirror Senshi--until they were coming down upon it. Until they were breaking the mirrors it was after. It was oblivious to the danger it was in when Raijū’s attack made contact. It was wriggling and made for a somewhat slippery target, though she still managed to strike its shoulder blade. The blast was strong enough to send hairline cracks across its mirrored skin.

Suffice to say, it did not like it.

The wraith twisted its head to peer over its shoulder with sightless, milky eyes, and it peeled its mouth open to shriek at the attackers.

There was no telling what Morpheus’ magic had made it see, but its tail twitched and lashed out, thrashing at Morpheus and Raijū.

Arnica’s flowers had an unpredictable effect on it, but the creature seemed neither sick nor weakened. Just enraged.

Remarque’s strings gripped it tightly, and it visibly flailed against the bonds, but they held firm; even as it struggled, it cracked a bit at its joins where the strings descended. One string snapped, but not before Lacerta got in a blast with her stone ring; another crack formed on its side from the pressure.

It wasn’t clear if Acubens’ deduction that it was getting energy from the mirrors was correct; smashing them didn’t seem to weaken the wraith at all. It was twisting and writhing from the damage it had taken, but it didn’t seem to be weakening, no matter how many mirrors she or Logos or Tegmine or Kiuchi broke. Rana might have had the right idea though, because the wraith did notice the others.

It let out a shriek so loud it echoed off the walls; a few more mirrors shattered, and the ground shifted, like it was losing whatever secret battle it had been waging to stay attached to the walls. A low, groaning sound echoed as the structure strained.

The wraith was battered but far from broken--and now, it was mad, too.

Whatever distraction the energy charged mirrors had been before, they were forgotten.

Now, it had to deal with the Dark Mirror Court, and it wasn’t shy about expressing its displeasure at being interrupted. Another string snapped, and while there were still a few clinging to it, they wouldn't last long either; it tried to claw at Acubens first for leading the assault on the mirrors, and then again at anyone within reach.

Quote:
The wraith seems weakest to physical damage, but this might not be very useful if the building continues to fail! The floor seems to be detaching from the walls, and chunks of the ground seem to be crumbling. In the very near future there might not be a ground to stand on. It’s hard to tell which part of this is the most dangerous, and Mirrorspace isn’t making it any easier.

Cold air continues to fill the room, and the voice calling for help seems distant, almost too far away to be heard at all. Players are free to take any damage they like; they are not obligated to take any lasting damage!

Dark Mirror Senshi of any rank can be drawn into a mirror and arrive in this room; if someone was already in Mirrorspace at the time of the battle, when they attempt to walk out of Mirrorspace they will arrive here. This roleplay will count as a battle, however is completely optional. It does not unlock any new features. The roleplay will be up for ~a week and a half, and there are no penalties for missing out on prompts. Prompts will be posted ~every 48 hours.

Once a character arrives here, they cannot leave until the end of the ORP; ICly this event will last for about an hour. Players will be able to join throughout the roleplay, only Dark Mirror Senshi can participate in this ORP, and if you haven’t posted with yours prior to this post you must handwave that they arrived prior to the wraith’s arrival!

Eternal Kiuchi

Watching the wraith for a moment, as he took note of Remarque attacking it, he shook his head. Nothing so far had done anything to the giant wraith. The only possible good thing was that it seemed to be leaving the mirrors alone. That didn't stop him from hearing the voice from the mirror next to him, which he had been planning to smash. Instead he turned to the mirror and called out to it. "Can you hear me? Are you the one from last time...who I spoke to. You were trapped and couldn't escape...couldn't die..." He called out to the mirror, ignoring the rest for now. The floor was crumbling and seemed to somehow be trying to pull itself away from the walls. He wasn't sure what would happen if the floor seperated. He wasn't sure they would survive or if they'd just be dumped some place else. There was never any telling with Mirrorspace. But he wanted to know if it was the same person still calling for, and seeking, help.

"There is a giant wraith attacking us, do you know anything about it?" THough he doubted it. he might as well ask...right?

Sailor Avignon.

So much was going on, so many people and moving around ,there were so many other sounds going on as well...and he just stood there taking it in. Avignon wasn't much for being social and he didn't know anyone, aside from Acubens, so he didn't interact with those around him. Instead of interacting he stood by Acubens silently. He was nervous, and it seemed a not so bad idea, as thigns started to take a turn from bad to worse.

The floor was cracking and then some big claw, followed by a massive wraith, made itself known. Debris got thrown into the air and he fell over, as he tried to back away as fast as he could, and landed on his a** hard. With his tail bone hurting, that landing was not so gentle, he pushed himself back across the splintering floor before climbing to his feet in the most akward manner possible.

Once on his feet he was watching as chaos errupted around him. The wraith was going for mirrors...and mirrors were soon being broken and the wraith was being attacked ands it was now turning on the senshi and he didn't know what to do. Why were they going for the mirrors and why was it going after them?

He stood there, every so often rubbing at his lower back, as he looked at everything going on. "What....why...?" Trailing off as he had to move out of the way of some cracks on the floor which were appearing. "This doesn't look good.....the floor..." He called out, his trembling and unsure as he spoke.

Eternal Sailor Elsa

Elsa rolled his eyes at Acubens's taunt, but he was obviously more amused by it than annoyed. She and Chione made each other happy, and it was, in its way, good for him to see them together.

The fact that his own romantic prospects were as cold and dismal as his sphere was not up for discussion.

He wanted to sass back, at first, but then the massive wraith came breaking through the floor, and he narrowed his eyes.

"Oh, thanks, I hate this," he said, to no one in particular. But a quick observation told him that while the room was falling apart, and it was hard ot tell how effective the attacks on the mirrors were, the attacks on the monster were fairly efficient, and Elsa did have one big, bad, physical strike up his sleeves.

Or, you know. Under his gloves.

"I don't know if those mirrors are doing much," he said, "but Acubens is right, keep hitting them." He puleld off one glove, grinning. "I'm going for the monster. Wendigo Howl!"

He sank his teeth into his skin, and there was a moment of pain--but it rapidly dissipated, repalced by the desire to destroy.

And there was a big, bad, nasty target for destruction right in front of him.

The wendigo Elsa had temporarily become shrieked, and launched itself forward at the wraith, scrabbling in an effort to claw it apart.

Quote:
Sailor Elsa speaks the name of his attack, and then bites into his own hand hard enough to draw blood. He appears to transform into a Wendigo - a tall, gaunt humanoid creature with extremely pale skin, cold to the touch and reeking of rotten flesh. In this state, his single focus is an overpowering hunger - he cannot distinguish friend from foe, is numb to physical pain, and is all but impervious to emotion-oriented magical attacks. He receives no physical boosts beyond the ability to keep going through injuries. The magic lasts for 40 seconds, and when it wears off, Elsa will be extremely drained - he cannot cast any other magic, and if he has cast prior to using Wendigo Howl, he will likely fall unconscious (never mind the effects of any injuries sustained while in Wendigo form!) Elsa can only use this magic once per battle; it is intended as a last resort.

Eternal Sailor Mithra

It felt as though everything had happened so fast and she wasn't sure what to do. The wraith that had decided to come through the floor? had gone after the glowing mirrors and apparently everyone decided that it needed to be fought instead and have it's attention drawn to them. The "floor" was also cracking and it was unclear if there was a safe space to step on. They needed to think of something besides attacking the wraith. And the mirrors were still too small to go through.

But... was there really anything they could do in the few moments they had to think? She decided to follow the other's leads for now and went to smash some of the mirrors!

Dark Mirror Eternal Sailor Acubens

The mirrors weren’t working. Her initial assumptions were wrong. She cursed again, dropping her hunk of debris, casting her mind around in search of another answer. Unlike her counterparts, she wasn’t so quick to attack. Though some were attacking it, it wasn’t necessarily attacking them.

Until it lashed out at Acubens, scratching a long angry gash from her shoulder to her sternum which was certain to need a few stitches. She screamed at first in surprise, and then in pain as her nerves responded to the attack.

Lavender was not going to be happy about this.

With her good arm, Acubens lashed back, hurling the debris as hard as she could at the wraith. She would have used her magic, but Elsa had acted before her, and she couldn’t risk hitting him with the attack.

Dark Mirror Super Sailor Logos

It wasn’t working. And from across the room, Logos watched as Acubens was attacked and subsequently attacked back. She also saw Elsa’s terrifying attack turn him into a literal monster and attack the wraith as well.

Logos was about to do the same when Rana grabbed her arm. She turned to see the young woman’s pleading eyes.

"Someone said they heard calls for help. What if it was the wraith?"

Logos opened her mouth to speak, but Rana had gone before she could do so. She watched the senshi yell into the nearest mirror, and Logos wasn’t sure if it would do any good. But she knew that she had to provide cover, or at least a distraction. So she followed Acubens’ lead again and hurled debris as hard as she could at the monster.

Dark Mirror Sailor Tegmine

So that wasn’t going how they had planned. Even worse, his sister had been hit. Acubens’ cry of pain and he had to fight himself not to rush for her. He had things to take care of here, and he couldn’t leave the other senshi on their own. The mirrors weren’t working, so there was only one thing left to do.

"Tegmine Desert Preservation!"

He called his magic to his lips and prayed that it would work better than he had been recently. If they could just get the thing to slow down, maybe they could prevent the floor from cracking any more than it already was.

"If we keep attacking, it’ll keep freaking out," he told Loke and Sadalsuud. "If it keeps freaking out, the floor keeps cracking. If we can get it to stop moving, we might be safer."

Tegmine Desert Preservation
Inspired by the mummies of paupers found in the deserts of Egypt. Tegmine calls out the name of his attack and holds out his hand and sand erupts from the palm of his hand. The sand, upon reaching the target, totally engulfs the target and begins the first stages of dehydrating them. Skin begins to feel tighter, joints grow stiff, and vocalization becomes difficult as the sand draws moisture from the body. The attack can reach five feet from him and can hit one target. The effects last for 25 seconds, and once the attack is done, the physical effects wear off. However, lingering thirst from dehydration may persist. May be used 2 times per battle.

Dark Mirror Sailor Rana

Things were moving too fast. Everything was too loud. Rana clapped her hands over her ears and screamed because there was nothing else she could do in that moment. Fear pounded in her chest and against her teeth. This was different from the battle in the park. They had been on the sidelines. Rana had spent the time trying to rescue a cat. But this… this was the thick and heat of battle. This was… this was terrifying.

The wraith hurt Acubens. It ignored the assaults on the mirrors. It seemed…

Well, Rana was going to say angry but… that wasn’t the right word. Rana couldn’t put her finger on it. Desparate? Afraid? Those all seemed too simple.

She ran to Logos before she could think about her next move, grabbed her arm, and spoke without thinking.

"Someone said they heard calls for help. What if it was the wraith?"

She didn’t wait for a response. She ran to the nearest, unshattered mirror and began pleading with whomever was on the other side.

"Is this you up here? Can you please just calm down and talk to us? We’ll stop attacking if you do, I promise! We’re all just so frightened!"

Sailor Asuka

There were so many of them. That was genuinely reassuring to Asuka; and apparently, all the terrifying yūrei and yōkai had found each other, which was equally oddly comforting. They were all in this together, in an odd sort of way, and that meant that there was nothing to fear.

.....Well. Except for some kind of awful monster breaking uot of the floor.

"Oh dear," Asuka said, and she staggered backwards, away from the thing, in an attempt to stay on the crumbling floor. "Oh, this is bad, very bad." To say the absolute least.

Her magic was useless here. She strongly expected that guilt or terror had no hold over a giant monster, which meant that she could do very little to make anything happen.

"We should stay close," she told Rana, Hitomi, and Tsukuyomi, "maybe hold onto each other, so we don't get separated when the floor breaks!"

DM Super Sadalsuud

Sadalsuud tried to managed a smile, a part of her relieved that the senshi with pink on pink-streaked hair (Arnica)didn't seem to be upset at her stumbling into him and had even taken her magical offering even if she wasn't sure that her magic would do much–

But she couldn't quite manage it.

"I'm not hurt" she said quietly after a moment, and it was even true in its way, but prevarication had never really been her way and after a moment more she found herself blurting out in a small voice "But the floor - it's bringing back bad memories."

Green eyes watched impressed as the other senshi used his magic, the ring of flowers ever so pretty - although Sadalsuud figured that it probably did more than...

The sound of the scream from the direction of the wraith cut through her thoughts, her eyes glancing around automatically, Sadalsuud feeling helpless as it dawned on her that it had come from
(Miss Acubens) because if the wraith was strong enough to hurt Miss Acubens who was so much stronger than her - then what could she do?

The senshi who had helped her by tugging her towards the edges of the room
(Tegmine) spoke to her and the dark-haired senshi who had been with them earlier (Loke), mentioned something about the floor cracking and about trying to get the wraith to stop moving and she thought she heard someone else mention something about a voice calling for help–

A voice?

Wait. Because for a moment Sadalsuud thought that she had heard something, although it was hard to tell because it was so very faint.

"Did you hear that?" And the question was kind of directed towards the three senshi closest to her
(Tegmine, Loke and Arnica) although she wasn't trying to keep her voice down or anything so others may have heard too.

She hesitated for a moment before moving closer towards the dark-haired senshi
(Loke) and called on her magic for a second time "Clover's Luck" before hesitatingly offering the resulting clover to him too, because whilst she had no idea if it would do much if anything, a part of Sadalsuud wanted to believe that it could help - and then feeling just a little bit silly Sadalsuud tried to listen and see if she hear the voice - or for something that wasn't well the gigantic wraith–

Whilst trying very hard not to look down at the cracks on the ground.
