A temporary calm eased over their group, broken only by the fall of a General from one of the other teams, but that, too, was quickly resolved. Carnallite did not yet drop out of her defensive position; she swept her gaze around the area, doubtful that they’d have long to regroup. As Kamacite spoke, Carnallite eyed him and heeded his words, though she kept her boomerang in hand, just in case.
She was a Lieutenant. The youma would not listen to her. If one came near her with the intent to attack, what was she to do other than defend herself?
With a scowl, she closed the distance between herself and Bloodstone again, hissing under her breath, “You knocked that thing toward me on purpose. Try to command it next time, d**k.”
“I thought you were capable enough to handle it,” Bloodstone shrugged, not all that concerned about the not quite reprimand of the shy looking Eternal. Kamacite kept his head down so much that Bloodstone was unsure if it was just because he was avoiding looking at everyone or at certain people in particular. Or maybe he just hadn’t caught the Eternal's gaze yet.
“I was acting in self defense,” he tried, his face expressionless and uncaring if Carnallite was calling him names. He’d been called worse before.
There were probably a thousand ways that could have gone, and Lopezite was relieved that there seemed to be only minimal damage taken--and the majority of the youma had been tamed instead of destroyed.
He didn’t know how useful that would be in the long run, or if it was just playing with fire in a place where they were already so keen to attack them, but it was a repeated instruction to command over combat, and Lopezite could comply. He lingered in the vicinity of a few Senshi, near enough to Kamacite to hear the tremble in his voice.
He had no magic or abilities that could affect the team, not beyond a really big sword, but it was currently sheathed to his back and it was impossible to miss.
A part of him wanted to see Kamacite’s magic.
Just not here, not now.
The leader of this expedition wanted to move forward quickly, and didn’t seem to be counting this as any sort of great success.
Lopezite expected worse; they hadn’t found their target, and nothing important was ever easy. His sword was on his mind, ready to summon if need be, but out of the way for now so he could focus on where they were going, and what they were facing.

"So then the youma at the bar haven't had patrons, outside of their own kind, in a long time. Perhaps when this is over we should try and find a way to remove the block in the path. It wouldn't be bad to explore there again and see how the youma their are fairing." It would be a very good thing to see how the youma there wer doing, - it had been too long. "I wish it were safe to bring corrupt senshi down with us that far." He had a feeling, if it was safe, Mason might like the place.
As the youma he'd ordered seemed to still, half of it's body in one area and half in another, he went to go scoop up both halves as best he could. "You shouldn't go running about in two places at once. Best you stay together." He did rather like this youma, it did look like a plant. "You'll help us now, I hope." Oh, he really did hope this one would help them.
Coming back to Wolframite's side he set the youma down, now both halves together. "Come, follow us." Nodding once to the youma he now had with him.

Let's make plans to find a bar again!

Just wants to bring both halves together and have the little guy follow him. Be a good little youma and play nice. Hope this doesn't count as a command.

Super Corrupt Miyamoto HP: 75
Nodding his head to Wolframite's words, he wasn't looking to get into a fight with any youma, and so he settled for watching what the youma did. It seemed two of them were now under their control, or at least the control of two officers, while another was still an issue? He wasn't entierly sure.
"I'll keep close." Nodding his head as he spoke. "I don't plan on becoming a meal for a youma."
When the eternal corrupt spoke up, asking about magic and attacks, he shook his head though more to himself than the eternal who was running things. "Nothing really useful here. I don't think emotion based attacks will do much against youma."
The span of time in which everything went from being a lot - to being over - nearly gave him whiplash. Then there was standing, talking, a slow crowding around, and the echo of youma screeches..
For once in his blessedly short life, Albite shut the ******** up. Surprised even himself with it. What with people falling from the sky and Amazonians commanding youmas into darting up to save them, and pets that went blarp landing on generals shoulders. All the parts of him that agreed with Kamacite - also agreed with the others in some ways. Arsenopyrite and his useful pet, the rainbow bright Senshi with a fire punch.
A few little love taps might not endear them to the youma, but it wouldn’t destroy any of ‘em either…well..except the Senshi’s abilities, but still? They only had the four generals…Albite wondered if all of this shoulda been gone over before, team intros and divvying up responsibilities and packing the Senshi into the center, or attaching them to whomever could command a youma; cause if Albite was gonna need to pop out his star seed to lure big daddy youma outta his den? He needed to survive long enough to do it.
He wondered belatedly if anyone had ever gone fishing with live bait before, shook the thought off and let himself be glad that everyone on their end had survived the first wave so far. Minimal injuries, better than what the worst outcome could’ve been.
He’d still try and stick close to Kama, the snake and the others at the fore - warnings for sun damage heeded - no need to comment on himself because his abilities held no backlash effects. The only urge he felt was to get moving - staying still too long made his skin itch - just because the hungry watchful eyes had scuttled off for the moment didn’t mean they’d stay off…
Atheneite nodded to Lopezite. "I'm with you." She affirmed preparing to fight if the youma came to attack either of the two of them. However the fight ended as quickly as it began. She was a little disappointed but she supposed it was good that no one in their group was too injured. The youma who attacked the group had either been brought under one of their commands or was destroyed and again the leader of the group reiterated that control was the preferred outcome of any encounters with the youma here. She personally felt she deserved a medal for her restraint in not attack the youma even when her attempt to control one of the creatures failed. It took a tremendous amount of self control.
The youma were subdued. With more violence than was probably necessary, and that was dangerous and might upset things. But at least it hadn't gone too bad, and they hadn't lost anyone.
Nagyagite shook his head, briefly.
Kamacite asked for a report, though, and he turned to face the Eternal. "I wanted to say, before--I can hypnotize people with my voice. I suspect I might be able to do it to some of the smarter youma, too. Not a Captian or general's full command, but it might buy some time to slow a monster down."
He grinned, revealing his snakey fangs.
"...Also, I'm venomous. But that shouldn't come up unless things go very bad."
Marialite yelped, when the youma attacked. She was, in a word, a hot mess all around, flailing and trying to get out of the way so the more experienced Generals could actually try and command them. The end result was that she got a little nibbled on, but at least she was mostly okay.
She wanted to speak up, but honestly...all she had was some very sparkly knives. Not exactly helpful for diplomacy. So she would have to pay attention, and listen to her superiors, and not ******** up.
Cleeia took a deep, shaky breath. The youma was dusted, and he was very much not dead! That was all good! And there was even something neat in front of him, and he reached out to catch the bright feather, eyes going wide.
"Thank you," he told Cervantite with a smile. "I dunno what would have happened if you hadn't saved me."
Then, he spun, and moved over to Kamacite.
"Um! Kamacite, sir! I don't think my magic will be very useful, but that's not what I'm here about--when my fellow Corrupt dusted that youma and saved me, it left this behind." He extended the feather to show it to Kama. "I'm not certain it's something we need, but it is sort of strange."
“Wow, yeah, I can totally tell how grateful you are.” Given that the other boy had just darted away and snatched up his spoils and carted it off to shove at the guy who was openly being a brat about hurting the youma.
Cervantite huffed softly, folding his arms over his chest as he eyed the pair. Whatever, not a big deal.
It wasn’t like he was the only one who actually did anything or found anything, except oh, wait. It only took a precursors glance around to see that all the other youma were still around, supposedly under a general’s command for now. Super easy for Kamacite to say “don’t attack anything,” when nothing had been coming for him. And his rank probably afforded him some resilience that Cervantite was absolutely positive he didn’t have.
He and his new yellow buddy could only take a couple smacks from a youma, and they couldn’t do anything besides attack. To insinuate that be should just hang around and do nothing while these monsters popped out of the walls at people was particularly laughing.
Do nothing and get struck? Gonna take a hard pass on that.
Gremlin craned up enough only to get the space to give his head a shake in an attempt to disperse some of the drifting ash. His giant ears smacked the sides of his head as he shook, and it only took an instant for him to realize that the whole action had been utterly useless. The ash clung to his oily skin. He receded back into the senshi’s hood.
With a disgruntled rumble, he stretched to pass his sandpaper tongue down his flank- a huge mistake, since it tasted incredible like it was: filthy smoked Rift dirt. To which he spat pretty unceremoniously down into Cervantite’s hair.
“Shut up and quit complaining,” he snapped. At least they weren’t dead or injured, and frankly, someone stealing his spoils was the least of his worries. “Your whole ilk is utter trash.”

While Quetzacoatl looked winded, the creature performed Titanite's instructions to the letter. Afterward, it settled into flapping near her, just above the tallest of the crowd. It was more interested in communicating with the other youma, however, and gave Ödön a friendly hissing shriek. If one could call a hissing shriek friendly.
Gemini, thoroughly addled, tottered near Benitoite's leg as they walked. The creature kept falling over. It was likely concussed, and perhaps no good in battle, but it might still make for a decent meat shield.
Calaverite's vested interest in trying to touch Quetzalcoatl was met with a furious flick of its tail — not enough to damage the boy, but enough to be a warning. Any more than that and the youma feared comeuppance from its temporary commander.
But that did not conclude Calaverite's brush with the indigenous population. From one of the holes nearest him, a pair of hands shot out. Sickly claws and sallow skin were intent on enveloping this one, welcoming him into the deeper realms of youma.

This prompt pertains to: Calverite. Instructions: Roll 1d10. If you roll 6-10, your character dodges the hands or escapes their clutches. If you roll 1-5, wait for Blue's post. Captains/Supers receive +1 to their roll, Generals/Eternals receive +2. (Or you can forego rolling and take an auto capture.)
The dark would not be still as they collected their wits and examined their spoils, however. Two more youma emerged without preamble — a rhinoceros youma emerged from further ahead, bent and charging. Its rear half was covered in chitin, and its front half was nothing but horns. Deep gouges down its back denoted a recent fight with another youma. The youma didn't roar its presence, or couldn't; its only indication to the group was a thunder of hooves as it charged straight for Kamacite.

Another youma emerged from its hole just behind Wolframite. What came into view was nothing but long, feathered neck crowned with a cockatiel's gargantuan head. Its head jerked about, and it eyed the Captain with its great dark eyeball, then darted in to nibble on Wolframite's soft-looking ear. But chew meant chew, and the youma bit down with force.

Naturally, Lopezite didn’t expect to be welcomed as guests, but the sheer hostility some of the youma approached with certainly warranted Kamacite’s preference for caution--not that it had done him any good. There must have been easier targets, and briefly Loepzite wondered if it was because he was so colorful that the raging youma had targeted him first.
And it looked like it had hurt.
“Atheneite, you’re doing well. Help me get this one.”
He was near enough to their team leader that it took him only slight strides to cross the distance, and he summoned his sword to his hand not to attack, but to serve as some sort of deterrent if the youma tried to strike again.
“Stand down,” he commanded, eyes on the youma as he tried to predict and deflect any further attacks, at least until someone could reign it in. If it didn’t listen to him, he trusted that Atheneite might help persuade it.
He wanted to reach out and place a hand on Kamacite’s shoulder but was afraid of startling him so refrained; he couldn’t give him any real look over because keeping his eyes on the youma and trying to predict any future attacks seemed a bit more pressing. Lopezite was ready to reach out if Kamacite needed assistance, but he didn’t force it upon him without knowing if he wanted it--or where he was hurt. “Are you alright?”
Atheneite followed Lopezite summoning her spear to her hand as they headed off one of the newly arrived Youma. She was genuinely shocked by how much guts all of these small youma had to have to attack a group of officers like this. Was this normal for the Rift? She admired their furocity but this was slowing down their group and people were getting hurt it was all a pain really.
She watched as Lopezite shouted down one of the youma, a rhinoceros looking thing. and he approached the leader eternal who had been the victim of the youma's attack. "You got things in control?" She asked as she she eyed the other youma attacking a captain. It seemed like she wouldn't be much help here so instead she turned her attention elsewhere.
"Stop It Now!" She commanded the bird like youma, hoping her voice carried the authority and intensity she tried to imbue it with. She made her way over to other captain. "Hey, you ok?" She inquired of the half youma captain.
