Rhin blinked almost owlishly at her. This was normal? He looked between her and the Specterfox that sat calmly beside him. "I... suppose I might as well?" It didn't seem interested in wandering off, though he wondered if that might change if another cookie appeared. "I hope you like water," he said somewhat dryly to the critter that seemed to eye him back.
He shook his head lightly and looked back towards the naiad he'd begun to converse with. Rhin smiled, a bright and cheery display, as he focused back on her. "But, as I was saying, yes, definitely a fantastic series. Do you usually read books in that genre, or do you prefer any other type of book more frequently?"
A nearby booth had mugs of warm drink, and Rhin paused just long enough to grab himself a cup, and returned to where he was--including offering one to his conversation companion. "Hot chocolate, if that suits?"
Unbeknownst to Rhin, the Specterfox apparently picked up a large plush fox. from one of the booths, holding it tight in its mouth and refusing to let it go.

Saira tilted her head a bit at the question, until she followed the demon's gaze and saw the game and plushies as prizes. "The ring toss game? Sure!" She tucked her candy away and walked over to the booth where the imp was standing, picking out a good spot for the two of them and paying for her set of rings.
Waiting for the calico demon to join, she gave her a warm smile when she did. "I'm Saira, by the way. Have you been to the winter festival before?"

Eloise giggled lightly at the exchange between the two, shifting to fidget with her hair when he focused on her once again. "I... Well, I tend to enjoy fantasy and sci-fi stuff like most folks, I suppose. Some...oh!" She paused as he offered her a mug of cocoa, smiling at him as she accepted it. "Yes, thank you."
Breathing in the steamy aroma, she murmured happily as she continued. "Ah... I like some romance novels now and then, some supernatural works here and there. That sort of thing." She carefully sipped at the cocoa, shivering as she realized how cold it was out here in comparison.
"What about y-- Ah, it seems like your new friend has had a successful hunt already..." She smirked a bit at the specterfox, shaking her head a bit before looking up at the naiad over the rim of the mug.
Cassandra hadn't expected to come back to the Academy for the Solstice. Like many dryads she'd met in her life, she found that others chose to sleep through the holiday or meditate. She had heard once that it was a time for her people to reflect. In some part of her, she supposed she was doing just that, in returning to her old Academy, before she had graduated from it and moved onto Asterion. Everything seemed so much smaller now, she thought. She hadn't really had any younger friends and beyond that she didn't really interact with others who weren't in her study groups.
She had been enticed by an older adult to take a stocking, in case she felt like joining in on the festivities. What an idea, She thought. Of allowing alumni to return to their the Academy and allowing them to partake in the games that the Juniors and Freshlings looked forward to all year.
She was looking at all the others who were still students of the Academy, running around in the snow and playing games. Moving over to a bench nearby, she sat upon it and looked at the blue and white "snow" stocking she held in her hands. It was so small... She was running her fingers over it, when she felt a pair of eyes on her. Looking up, she found herself making eye contact with a Spectrefox. She stiffened slightly, unsure of what to make of the fact that one was staring her down. It took a few steps forward, but stilled when she got up from her bench. She approached it and held out the stocking to it.
"Here. Were you looking at this? You can keep it... I need to focus on my studies. I shouldn't even be here." She told it, not registering that it may not be logical to speak to an animal. She'd read somewhere that Spectrefoxes were incredibly intelligent. Maybe it could understand her, after all. It made no move towards her, so she dropped the stocking in front of it and started to head away. The sound of crunching snow behind her caused her to take pause and turn. The Spectrefox had picked up the stocking and was following behind, its head in the hair. When she stopped, it came up beside her, leaned against her leg and stared at her. She lay her hand upon its head and it let out a small sigh.
"Alright then." She told it. "I hope you don't mind travelling some distance. I actually live elsewhere, but I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, eh?" She remarked. Maybe she'd stick around a little longer before heading back.
Latros eventually noticed that their wallet had gone missing, and thanked the kind stranger profusely for rescuing their little spiderlings, before carefully putting the wallet back into a pocket to keep them warm. The spiders themselves were suited for the cold, but they still needed some warmth as they were so young.
Continuing on with their adventure, they found another booth that was handing out goodies, and picked out a really cute blue lightbulb necklace, giggling merrily as they put it on. There was also a little nezubat plush with eyes that seemed to glow like their own, and they absolutely had to have it. Luckily the vendor was willing to part with it for the few stars they had left.

Coco smiled softly as they walked over to the ring toss game together, she was rather proud of herself for finding the courage to ask the neko to play a game with her. She couldn't remember if she had told the neko her name or not so after Saira said her she said hers once again. "I've been going to the winter festival since I was a freshling, I've lived at the academy most of my life, so the festival have always been close, have you been before?" She said not really sad about her past anymore. It was just that her past, she had live through so much. Coco accepted her rings from the imp with a smile.
Lunette smiled and walked along with Khensu, ready to go do some holiday shopping or perhaps go play some games, when they were joined by a very pretty batty. She smiled "Well hello there." She said gently "You are very lucky Lunette said to Khensu." She said in a warm tone, very happy for his good fortune. She loved all her familiars they were wonderful companions.

Enju laughed softly "I suppose." He said shyly "Umm I'm Enju, what's your sky fishes name? Have you named them yet?" Enju asked curiously. He had forgotten for a moment there was another being involved so he was a little less nervous then he would have been otherwise if a familiar hadn't been the star of the interaction.
She smiled as the demon told Saira her name as well, "Nice to meet you, Coco." Starting to play the game, she watched as a few bounced off, but frowned as she focused on trying to get one. She gave out a whoop! as one stayed on peg, and gladly picked out one of the cookies.
Not even a moment after she took it, a flitterat with a cape had snatched the cookie and booked it into the crowd. Dropping her remaining rings, and chased after the rodent and pounced on it, taking back her cookie victoriously. The flitterat seemed to be in shock, but climbed up onto her shoulder once they had calmed down.
Walking back to the game, she picked up her rings and smiled at Coco, "Sorry about that, but I got my prize back, and this cute little guy as well I think?"
Coco smiled and reached out her hand to pet the pretty flitterrat "They are really pretty." She said in a soft tone, she was having a nice time with her new friend and was glad she had met them. Coco got a set of silver bells from one of the tables giving them away and she jingled them in front of the little familiar. Then she looked at Saira and asked "What do you want to do next?"
Lunette turned to a game near Khensu was she lifted the little rubber atherjelly floating in the water and saw a star on the bottom. She had won a pluhsie from the game and she chose a starry Atherjelly as her prize. She hoped one day she would have freshlings of her own that she could give plushies to.
