Hakase Yuki
博士雪
Ichibantai Taichō

"Look, I don't really care what the situation is, quite frankly. 1,200 roses were paid for, and at last count, there's a severe shortage of 1,200 roses and by that I mean, I see none whatsoever! This is my daughter's wedding we're talking about here, not some other event that's perfectly acceptable to blunder! I'm looking after you, because I'm sure you don't want to wake up tomorrow morning with a foreign object grafted onto your body courtesy of Hei-Taichō! Now go fix this, and fix it quickly!" She said quickly in hushed tones towards a normally dressed Shinigami standing before her, taking care to not allow anyone else to hear her. The Shinigami that Yuki had been berating was staring at the ground with a downcast look all over his face. She had successfully broken his spirit, thought it was not something she had been intending to do. Tension for the woman had been rising ever so steadily as she found it impossible to not freak out over the smallest things wrong; something as big as no flowers was sure to set her off but something as simple as one of the servants not being completely tidy wasn't going to do her any good. It wasn't only the preparations for the wedding, which had been mostly on her, that had made her tense.

Over the past year, many things had gone on for her. First and foremost, she had to deal the fact that Hei had gone missing for seven months while he was in a medically-induced coma. It was hard enough to deal with the fact that he had disappeared mere weeks after being resurrected, but she also had to keep a tight lip when it came to any other Captain or Lieutenant asking about Hei. It had been selfish and stupid of him to do it, especially given the fact that he had taken over as head of the house, developed a serum for Kyo, promised modifications for Tsukiko, spent a few nights alone with herself, then seemingly vanished from the face of the Soul Society. Initially she had been worried, but she quickly realized who she was talking about and left him to his vices, waiting for him to return. She of course, had to lie to Kyo if he asked her where Hei was, or for that matter, any other Shinigami that asked her. She hated liars, so being forced to lie herself was even worse.

During this time, in order to get her mind off Hei's disappearance, she had taken to personally overseeing the training of the majority of her subordinates, using this time to determine the logistics of their abilities and how to best apply them on the battlefield should a group effort be needed like it had been against Aurelius. She had known Hei to be much smarter than her, but seeing him calculate a plan involving multiple Captains without even being there was just too for her to stand, so she vowed to be able to do that one day. It was not only their abilities she got acquainted with, but also themselves; long hours of training would do that that to a sparring pair. The most personal development for herself was that she had become confident in her skills as a leader, and thus did not doubt how her subordinates felts about her. Despite this personal growth, she was still very annoyed that Hei had shown up seven months later with ankle-length hair, a toned body, and eyes that looked like they had been to hell and back, then threw a ring on her finger and insisted on a private wedding. What a charmer that man could be sometimes. Sometime later Elisia had come for her blessings to marry Tsukiko, which she gracefully granted. Thus began her tiny trip into planning hell that she couldn't complain about for obvious reasons.

Annoyed, Yuki put her hand to her forehead and sighed, then waved the Shinigami away from her location before turning away and approaching Hei. Once she was close enough, she could hear Elisia asking Hei for a favor, which really seemed out of place considering she was being so formal about it. Normally one would simply ask their father-in-law for the favor, and not sugarcoat the entire situation before asking. Then again, this was Hei she was asking, and asking a man like him for a favor was like playing Russian Roulette with a six-chamber revolver and five bullets; the odds were against you. Chances are he would leave the one asking for a favor high and dry, likely with a new scar, be it physical or mental, to add to their collection. Yuki assumed however, that because he had spent so much money on everything that he now viewed Elisia as family, and thus would be able to treat her respectfully and the same way he treated herself and Tsukiko. Still, she felt the need to put herself there just in case he was in one of his moods. Standing next to Elisia, she put her hand on the shoulder opposite her, her left, and smiled down at Hei, using her presence to make him less hostile, should he be so at the moment.

User ImageUser ImageIt was becoming an odd sight to see everyone, including herself, simply engaging in discussion or some other form of socialization. However, it was fun to observe them all. Who spoke to whom? What were they speaking about? Not that she could hear much of the conversations that were happening around her even if she had so desired. She bit into her first apple again. After conversing with Tsukiko, Hakase Hei-Taicho had left his primary seat for the minute gathering that consisted of Kyo, Hakase Elisia-Taicho and a Lieutenant, it would seem which led to interrupting Nu-Taicho's impromptu set with playing piano quite beautifully. Most of the guests were mingling with each other and frankly, it was causing a bit of a social atmosphere that could be considered as peaceful and enjoyable. It was at this point that she took note of Lee-kun's response to her offer. However, his refusal did not bother her. The thought is what mattered so she did not say anything about it, instead finishing her current fruit for another one of the same group.

These things were really satisfying and she would know. Her breafast had not been plentiful in any sense of the word. As the second apple continued on its path of utter destruction, Eriko's eyes flickered over everyone else and what they were doing. Nu-Taicho had relocated to another part of the garden and seemed to be chatting with Elisia-Taicho's younger sister. Sakamoto was by himself and appeared to be slightly out of it for some reason or the other. Aurelius was lifting himself up to speak to Hakase Tsukiko. The Jubantai-Taicho blinked and straightened in her seat to see the Exaequare there. Then again, she should not have been so surprised at this. He had been deemed an ally in the past year. However, this did not deter him from having his own, essentially harmless fun. Eriko blinked at him again as he spoke to both her and Lee about expressing their feelings. She could not glare at him because his words did hold a fair amount of truth to them. Honestly, her emotions had not changed much since that night in her quarters. The friendship had been established and now, they simply enjoyed the other person's company. Why try to label it so soon unless there was a really big change in how things were going? Therefore, this did not receive a verbal reply either. Eriko grunted cheerfully at the fleeting thought that maybe her friend's silence had rubbed off on her a bit.

Her gray eyes returned to their watch once the Exaequare, young in appearance, had completed all of his public annoucements. A man was approaching the majority of them, a youth man for that matter as well as that Hibiki-Taicho had only just arrived and was heading for Hakase Hei-Taicho of all people. This brought Elisia-Taicho's presence back to her attention as the newly-wed bride was at her father-in-law's side, probably thanking him for hosting the wedding as her bride had done a few minutes earlier. With that small group of Shinigami to be far away for eavesdropping purposes, Eriko looked back at the gentleman who had made himself known in a very polite manner. Bored and usually intrigued, Eriko picked up an orange and headed in his direction, her weaponry still on her person. She had not said farewell to Lee because more than likely, that is where she would reappear. At least, the fruit plate was there if the mood for eating did strike him after all. When there were no more than five meters between them, Eriko halted and began peeling at her mandarin orange, without looking up at the stranger as she spoke. "Good afternoon to yourself. I don't think that I'm familiar with you. My title in Akiyama Eriko-Taicho of the Jubantai. Who are you?" Her tone was friendly but still held an edge of distrust to it. He had not come into her line of vision until recently and now, she was curious. "Are you related to the brides, perhaps?" The orange peel was kept in her hands as the fingers kept working feverishly at the apparent tough skin.

Hibiki Kirisho
- Squad Nine Captain -

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The gods trembled
The demons flocked

As Hibiki neared the place where the piano was being played, he noticed that his coat was still unbuttoned, deciding that he had delayed himself long enough, he simply opted to fix it while walking. While doing so he noticed that the pianist was not simply sticking to a single piece, but rather shifted from one musical piece to another. And it was not done abruptly, as an amateur would, but rather the rhythm and flow of the former was in sync with the next, creating an almost continuous loop of music. Lightly smirking, Hibiki wondered where the Hakases managed to hire such a skilled pianist. He jested to himself that at least there was one thing someone was better than Hei at, but he soon ate his words as he saw the man himself sitting at the pianist’s chair.

A bit dumb struck-- but far from being awe struck-- at the turn of events, Hibiki let the button held in his hand slip off from his grip as he went from a near paralyzed state of shock, to a genuinely embarrassed and awkward state of displacement. He had hoped to find either Elisia or Tsukikko by following the sound of the piano, now he was stuck here with Hei of all people. Shifting his gaze around, he avoided eye contact with the man by simply not looking in his general direction, which inadvertently caused him to avoid Elisia as well as she approached Hei, asking him for a favor.

Realizing that it would be best if he searched elsewhere, Hibiki was about to exit the area, when Elisia suddenly came up to him and instead of starting off with a greeting, started buttoning his coat. Needless to say he was embarrassed by the whole situation, but he couldn’t simply just ask her to stop, given that she was one of the main celebrants of the party. After she had finished, Hibiki breathed a sigh of relief as she finally addressed him ”Yes, life’s been good so far. It’s nice to see you again as well, Elisia.” he spoke as he nodded slightly. Remembering what he had came here for, Hibiki once again spoke out ”Oh and congratulations on your wedding. It seems like no expense was spared in preparing for the celebration.” he commented before giving her his present ”Though its paltry compared to this reception, it’s the best I could come up with. I hope both of you find some value in it, either practical or sentimental.” his tone of voice was a bit awkward at best, which was normal considering this was the first time he had been invited to a Shinigami wedding, though he had already seen several human weddings in the Human World, this was still different.

Noticing the familiar reiatsu, Hibiki turned around to see Tadashi as he walked towards him. Lightly waving his hand towards him, Hibiki called out to him, loud enough that he could hear, but not too loud that it would interrupt Hei as he was playing the piano-- though he would’ve enjoyed doing so, he decided it would earn him the chagrin of more than one Hakase, which would be quite bad-- ”Yo, Tadashi. Over here.” he called out to him as he waited with Elisia.

Tadashi Sakamoto

9th Division Lieutenant

Tadashi, after having not accomplished much after hours of being here (apart from emotional insecurity derived from his shortcomings in romance), strode up to Hibiki while the Captain was calling for him. He decided to simply converse with Hibiki, something he really hadn't been doing much since he'd gotten Bankai. "Taicho, it's good to see you are here, but...well, is there a reason you missed the ceremony?" he asked, probably coming off as a bit rude. He had originally thought Hibiki had avoided the Hakase wedding altogether. Tadashi didn't particularly think the Captain was that kind of person, but nonetheless he couldn't help but wonder, what with Hibiki's late arrival.

After Hibiki answered that, he planned to ask him how to decode the mysteries the Salinger novel reportedly held.

Hakase Hei
Jūnibantai Taichō
"...allow me to show you a fate worse than death."

Eyes still shut, Hei continued playing as he finished off Greensleeves and slowly began to transition himself into Beethoven's Für Elise, patiently waiting for Elisia to finish speaking to him. Frankly, he wasn't entirely sure why she felt the need to fluff the situation as she should known by now, since she was now family and had been considered as such during the 3-4 month engagement period, that she should just come out and ask for what it was that she wanted. He had not liked her initially, but he respected his daughter's choice and treated her in the same manner he treated the other women in his life. Without looking up as he full started the new piece, he responded to her initial statement, but added his own subject while doing so. "Certainly, you may ask of me whatever you desire. As of today you are family, therefore you are under my protection and good graces." He took a long pause, roughly a minute and a half as he continued to play Für Elise. As he neared the last set of lines, he spoke up once more to the girl. "However, you are still very new to me, if you will. That said, I don't appreciate the fact that you spoke to someone else while waiting for my answer. It is impolite to do so, and because of this, you will have to wait until I am done singing before you get your answer." He said in soft, dulcet tones that he normally reserved for Tsukiko and Yuki, indicating he was, at the very least, telling the truth about considering her to be family. Opening his right eye, he turned it towards Yuki and Elisia, scanning them both from head to toe and enjoying the sight of Yuki being in a knee-length Chinese dress. He hadn't seen her before this point on account of how busy she had been planning everything.

As soon as he finished off this piece, he rose from his seat, scooted to the side and swept himself around the bench so that he was now facing the group. A servant bent over, putting his face near Hei's as per his instructions, and promptly vanished after receiving further instructions from Hei. He returned moments later carrying a guitar and a black pick that he handed to Hei. Situtation himself with the instrument, Hei scanned the crowd, his face making it very clear he was not afraid of doing this, and then proceeded to tap a button on his tuxedo's lapel, which turned on the microphone that was embedded inside it and that connected with the PA system all over the Seireitei, inclusive of the added speakers in the garden. clearing his throat, he spoke, his voice carrying all across the Seireitei. "If I may have the attention of all who are present. I would like to sing a song that I dedicate to my beautiful daughter and equally beautiful daughter in law." Since he was not one for pleasantries, he cut the chatter right there and began playing the piece for Fleetwood Mac's Landslide, eventually bringing his voice into the mix. Astonishingly, in stark contrast to the terse way he spoke to others and the gruff tones he normally used, his singing voice was nearly angelic, something that one would not even expect out of him in a million years. It had an uplifting quality to it, the kinda that momentarily erased unease.

Took my love and I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well, the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes bolder, children get older
I'm getting older too, well

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes bolder, children get older
I'm getting older too, well, I'm getting older too

So take this love and take it down
Yeah, and if you climb a mountain and you turn around
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well, the landslide brought down

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well maybe, well maybe, well maybe
The landslide will bring you down...

As he finished off three minutes later, he did not wait for applause, nor did he expect it. Instead he just merely handed the guitar off to the same man that had handed it to him and turned to Elisia. "Now then, what is it that you desire?" He said calmly, folding his arms across his chest as his gray wolf came sauntering up to his master's feet, poking his nose at his pants.

As his smiled widened towards Eriko's introduction, his hand went to his glasses for the umpteenth time in order to adjust them. He waited very patiently for her to finish her statements before replying in a timely manner. "Yes, I am quite aware of who you are, Akiyama-Taichō." It was true enough, since he kept tabs on everyone in the Soul Society, with varying degrees of course. For instance, he knew nearly everything about his Captain, but knew well enough to stay out of Hei's and Yuki's businesses. Ciel tugged the book from beneath his arm, pulled it open to the next blank page and strategically, but not obviously, situated it so Eriko could not read what he was writing. Keeping his eyes on the Captain the entire time he was jotting down notes, he plowed on with his response towards her. "My name is Ciel Girard and I serve the 7th Division of the Gotei 13 as it's Lieutenant. I am sorry to inform you that I am not in any way related to either of the brides."

For a moment there was only the sound of pen flying across paper as Ciel rapidly went through page after page in his book. Then, Hei's voice was amplified all over the Seireitei, the initial noise being enough to startle Ciel and make him jump. Quickly composing himself, he snapped the book shut, tucked it under his arm, and then turned his head slightly so he could watch Hei as he played and sang. He truly did have a magnificent voice, something he committed to memory out of habit. He stood in complete silence as Hei sang, throughly enjoying the ease and comfort that filtered throughout his entire being. Once he was done, he moved his pen to the side and applauded him, just before turning back to Eriko. "From what I hear, courtesy of that little boy, you are having feelings for Lee-Taichō, correct? If I may be so bold; what is it that prevents you from saying anything?" Though it did not show on his face, he eagerly awaited her answer.

ƸӁƷ Sanbantai Taichou - Czar ƸӁƷ

"Well I suppose I cannot complain the food and scenery here are quite breath taking." Czar explained with a hand in the air to himself as he took a bite of some rather delicious food set on a lovely decorated tray. "Now, I wonder, will it be possible to find any Sake around here?" He asked himself, shaking a large bottle upside down after finishing it off. Czar, as to be expected, was wondering around the garden half alive half dead looking. He himself had missed the spectacular wedding, being the newest addition to the Captains line, though he received an invitation nonetheless, it puzzled him so, though it occurred to him that perhaps they were merely being polite. A lot had taken place this last little while within the walls of Seireitei, most of which Czar was not around to take part in, or witness, though it had happened all the same. Be that as it may, he still took everything lightly and moved on, enjoying the happy feeling that surrounded everyone. As Czar wondered through the magnificent garden, he came across a bridge, towering over a small creek, he walked onto it and looked over the edge, it seduce him into a dream world, he bent over slightly, placing his below on the rail and resting his head in his hand, he just sat and watched the weak current flow by. "What a beauty, this place really is amazing." He loved the sweet scent of the flowers and trees that flowed through the air on the gentle breeze, it made him almost fall asleep, in fact, he dozed off to the point where he almost fell over and into the small creek. "What?" He said suddenly shaking his head and rubbing his rib where he had slipped and hit the side. "Oh my, that was rather foolish of me." After rubbing his eyes, and yawning with a stretch, he walked off the bridge and back onto the stone path. He had been walking for quite some time when he realized that he was was on the other side of the garden, away from where the party was, after back tracking, he came to where he was before and breathed a sigh of relief, he wasn't wanting to get lost in Hei's garden, only because of the rumors he had heard of Hei, he was quite scared of the man. It was as he was thinking of Hei and the tyrannical personality he was told the man had, when it got him thinking about Hei.

"I perhaps should go and talk with him, best way to break the ice." Czar was now walking into the party area where most of the celebrants were, he smiled to several people he didn't know, and to a few he had seen once or twice, though not nearly enough to have confidence in going up to them and starting any sort of friendly conversation. As Czar was heading towards what sounded to be singing, he found yet another table full of delicious appetizers, sake and many other things he didn't question about before eating. After munching down his fill, without appearing to be a gluten, which he most certainly was yet never gained a pound, he continued walking towards the singing. Eventually he saw that the singing was coming from Hei himself, it painted a different view of the man for he had a amazing singing voice, he thought that maybe the rumors he had heard were not quite true, though he saw that Hei was currently in converse with a few others so he decided to wait until Hei was a bit less preoccupied with his companions, he walked away from them and sat on a rock near the path he was on, bottle in hand he poured himself glass after glass taking in the many sights and wonders of the area. "I wonder if I might find Hibiki here too? Or maybe I should look for Elisia, hmm.." He was thinking of whom he should pursue first, eventually finalizing on Hei, he headed back towards him and stood off a bit, waiting for a chance to greet him, the nervous wreck he was.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxLoneliness hit me suddenly,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxbut it’s only t h e n that I realized,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxafter all that I have ever DREAMED of,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI really don’t like F I G H T I N G

Suzume nodded at Nu as the Captain excused herself. “ Naohito-Taichō, I hope everything turns out well for you~” she called out to the girl as the Captain left. Now that she was all alone again, she grabbed and downed half of another cup of sake, barely caring about the fact that there was a liability that she might end up tipsy at any moment in time. It was the only way that she could loosen up or at least, enjoy her own company. As she listened to Hei’s music, which completely contrasted to what she portrayed of him, her eyes travelled over the people gathered. Seeing Nanashi, she debated whether to go to him or not, but decided against it. She didn’t want to seem to be too much of a stalker or anything like that, which was what she was turning out to be, really. He was most likely busy with other things and he was sitting next to his Captain anyway. Pulling out the present that Nu had given to Elisia, she let out a low whistle. She had seen this on her last trip to the Riyu estat, and from memory, this was most definitely expensive and rather exclusive. Smiling to herself, she slowly traced shapes in the sky and followed the clouds. It seemed that even the toughest people had a soft spot for people.

Storing the present away again, her fingers came across some envelope, which she had put away in the folds of her clothes for later. She had been meaning to hand this to Elisia or Tsukiko, although she had been putting this off for the meantime. It was a gift from their parents, something that they would never admit to doing, due to their relationship with their last remaining blood daughter being virtually non-existent. They had told her to never come home again, but then, they had grudgingly given a wedding gift to Zume herself to hand over. Seriously, they should really just make up and stop bickering so much. Standing up, she crossed so that she was standing in front of Tsukiko. Dipping her head in the form of a nod, she quietly told Tsukiko, “ I wish you all the happiness with my sister.” She handed over the envelope, in which there was a cheque with a sizeable amount of money in it. “Elisia’s parents asked me to give this. I would have given it to my sister, but she’d most likely refuse it. There’s about seventy million yen in there, a portion of what Elisia’s inheritance would have really been.” She pulled an apologetic smile, continuing, “They’re most likely never going to talk to Eli again, but they said that they hoped that this would help start you two on a new life.” With her job done, she walked away, taking a few steps before turning around and giving a rare smile to the other girl. “Good luck with Eli.” After that, she moved back to where she had originally been, drifting back off into her thoughts.

yonbantaixTAICHO

Elisia accepted the gift from Hibiki, a smile on her face as she thanked him profoundly for his present, “Thank you very much for your gift and your congratulations, Kirisho-Taichō, it’s greatly appreciated by both myself and Tsukiko.” Holding it awkwardly in her hands as she didn’t exactly know what to do with it, she decided that she would open these presents later, when she would have some time alone with Tsukiko. That would be something nice to do, especially since they hadn’t had too much free time recently. Hearing Hei’s voice, she tilted her head back towards Hei, cringing mentally as she realized the mistake she had made. Was she absolutely mad? It was bad enough that she had already asked of him so many things, but it seemed as if she couldn’t even pay him the smallest sign of respect. While his tone indicated that he had relaxed in his mood towards her, she still felt extremely tongue-tied and awkward around him. All she wanted to do right now was curl up in a little ball and hide away for a bit. Realizing that her mother-in-law was standing next to her, giving her a silent sense of strength, she calmed herself down and pulled a straight face on. Hei was her father-in-law and she needed to get used to him.

Of course, seeing him singing and dedicating it to both Tsukiko and her, was just the slightest bit uncomfortable, but she endured it, even enjoying it at times. As long as she kept on telling herself that everybody would be looking at Hei and not her, she was perfectly fine with it. Lifting her head up, she caught sight of Tsukiko, a small secretive smile appearing on her lips as the full meaning of today finally struck her at once. They were bonded together, forever and there was going to be little, if anything, that would ever be able to break them apart. For now with that thought, everything seemed perfect and life was as it should be. It was the clapping from one of the food tables that finally jolted her out of her thoughts and back to the present, just in time to hear Hei asking her what she wanted. Oh, sheesh, this was going to be awkward. Regretting her decision to ask him, she started in the most irratic manner, “I…Tsukiko…I was just wond--” She cut herself off mid-sentence, hesitating. Sighing as she forced herself to start making some logic and sense, she continued much more fluently and steadily than before, “I was just wondering whether you had a method to either slow down or altogether stop my ageing. Tsukiko cannot grow any older and I believe me staying at this current age or slightly older, might be better for both of us.” She was twisting her words around a little, as she did know of the fact that Hei had a way to change somebody’s age or something like that. It had been quite easy to pick it out several times – the fact that Hei himself did not look that old despite his age, Yuki had to change back to normal age somehow and when Aurelius had gone from a three-year-old to a teenager, apparently from using Hei’s technology. However, it still took all of her courage to stand there determined, instead of fleeing and pretending this never existed at all.

Upon reaching the conclusion of her question, long before she even finished, Hei let out a low sigh and calmly waited for her to finish. Hei leaned to the side, propping his head up on his hand with his elbow on the top of the piano, and looked at Elisia through one eye, the other being obscured by his bangs. "No. Contrary to what the rest of you seem to think, I am not a god. The instances in which you have seen age being tinkered with when it is related to me is mere folly, or perhaps farce would be a better way to describe it. Yuki there is stuck in that body due to her Zanpakutō. Tsukiko is, as you are well aware, ageless because she is no longer biological.

As for myself, the times you have seen me instantly alter my age was nothing more than a illusion, albeit a very complex and powerful illusion that can trick most of the senses, but an illusion nonetheless. As for this body, this is the result of many painful and excruciating surgeries that I subjected myself to in order to make my dear sister feel at ease about the fact that she cannot age. It is nothing more than a temporary solution and I couldn't possibly submit you to it. In the end, I will die at the time I am meant to, long before my sister and daughter. I have come to term with this a long time ago, and have learned to spend my time with them to the fullest. I am sorry. Just enjoy your time together while you can and do not worry when your time finally comes. She's a strong girl and she'll be able to handle it."

Rising to his feet, he peeled Yuki's hand from Elisia's shoulder and proceeded to guide his sister away from the group of people. Once he was out of earshot, he engaged her in conversation. "You really fill that dress out, Yuki. Why haven't I seen this before?" Cracking a grin, he switched subjects, leading into a more serious conversation. "Remind me again why you haven't moved back home? Your old room is bigger than your entire quarters put together, so you'd have even more space. Besides, it's lonely all by myself."

User ImageUser ImageIt had not been done purposefully but Eriko found herself concentrating more on the orange in her hands than on the young man before her as he responded. To ease the awkwardness that this might convey to those who were bothered to watch, she began nodding her head as soon as the first word was out of his mouth. Fortunately, this helped her to take note of his title as well as that he was not family of the brides. This orange was becoming a pain with such an almost impenetrable skin and an inner fruit that did not want to be found. Her nails were usually suffice for a task like this. Of course, the fruit from a food table of a Hakase would be an exception. She had just wrenched off a piece that brought her to a halfway nude mandarin orange when her ears picked up on drastic change in the music which Hei was playing. It was not of the Classical genre of music as was evidenced further by the words that began to flow out the older Taicho's mouth. For once, Eriko was forced to halt her fighting with the orange, stop and listen to what was happening around her, specifically the song being sung so delightfully.

With such admiration shown for it, it was a shame that her hands returned to work as soon as the last word was out with the melody. By the time that Ciel's statement had been noticed by her consciously, the fruit was nearly bare and Eriko's ability to listen to other people politely was restored for the most part. Her fingers poked idlely at their citric charge while her mind tried to find the least offensive method of stating what she had to say to the Lieutenant before her. A few minutes of utter silence from her passed slowly before the stalling stopped and Eriko smiled at Ciel, placing a few loose strands behind her ears. "It is none of your business, I must remind you but we have discussed our feelings and there is nothing preventing me from saying something if by chance those present feelings were to change for any reason whatsoever." Her tone was calm despite the angered smirk that plagued her facial features. "Furthermore, you may not be so bold as to ask me any questions about my personal relationships ever again unless I initiate up the topic of my own accord," she laughed here, bringing her mind back to the calm before the out of place questioning, "I hope that we understand each other. Have you had anything as yet, food wise? We are welcome to join us." Eventually, the smirk left with all of its subtle implications and undertones to leave a genuinely friendly and welcoming face. Her hands were on the last bit of orange rind but her eyes were turned to those of Ciel, awaiting his response if any.

”Don’t worry about it. It’s the least I could do.” spoke Hibiki as Elisia accepted his gift. He was rather pleased that they appreciated it, a simple pleasure but sometimes one must have those as well. However, his mood changed a bit as he overheard Hei’s comment towards Elisia. Given that Hibiki had gotten used to Hei’s personality, seeing as how the man had earned his chagrin, and intentionally as well on more than one occasion, he didn’t seem to be bothered by the fact that the man was a bit peeved off when Elisia turned her attention away from him. As a matter of fact, if the event had occurred a year earlier, he would have chuckled right then and there, and would not have cared as to whether or not his actions were appropriate. But time changes people, and though he still had a deep and seething desire to pound the man’s face in, he was a bit more mature about the matter. Not enough to simply let bygones be bygones, but at least enough to show some restraint during a wedding celebration.

As Hei started to sing, Hibiki thought it best to leave Elisia in the company of her new family. Just in time, his Lieutenant was already with him, already asking him as to his whereabouts. Smiling a bit, Hibiki slowly walked away from the area, motioning for Tadashi to walk with him for a bit ”Glad you asked. I wouldn’t want you to assume anything.” he started out, his tone a bit relaxed and casual ”Normally I’d say I just didn’t feel like going, seeing as how it’s just a formality to me.” he spoke out, pausing for a bit before continuing ”But I’m not that kind of jerk to do that sort of thing. I’ll tell you who the jerk is though, the guy who was tasked on bringing me my mail in the Human World.“ speaking seriously, despite the slight comically inclination in his words. ”And I’m not talking about the human mail men, oh no, they’re swell guys, always up for some light chit-chat as they make their rounds.” he would’ve continued from there, but he feared he’d just end up babbling away about Human World things. Staying quiet for a while, he finally spoke out once more ”Anyway, there’s your answer. I got the invitation late, it’s embarrassing really. But I guess what happens, happens, and all that.

ƸӁƷ Sanbantai Taichou - Czar ƸӁƷ

Czar's expression turned from determined to meet Hei to disappointment as he walked away to talk with someone. He couldn't possibly interrupt Hei, so, with a long face, he walked away, face hanging down and arms dragging beside him. He was clearly getting worked up over nothing. "Geez, I should make myself stand out more in a crowd, I am after all a Captain, yet I'm making myself blend is about as well as some lower seated officer, but that's my own fault I suppose." Czar wasn't paying attention to his intended walking path, and after accidentally knocking over a tray or two, he thought it best to continue on an object free route. He nodded to a few party guests, though he imagined they were looking at him with raised eyebrows, and a "Who is that?" type of look. Czar wondered around the party area for a while, he put his finger to his lip and looked up into the abundance of trees hanging overhead. "Hm, I wonder, I think getting a better view of who all exactly is here might be a fun idea." Czar was the smallest Captain currently enrolled within Seireitei so his height played a large roll in his not being noticed, however his odd factor also played an equal roll in his seclusion. It seemed Czar hadn't matured in the many hundred years he had been in Seireitei, only a few weeks however had he been Captain.

As he walked he passed Hibiki and his Lieutenant, though he didn't notice either of them, as he was completely absorbed in the trees, in fact, his finger was still hanging gently on his lip, as if the tree had some sort of evil power that was inviting him to come nearer. Czar eventually came to a large tree that smelled so sweet, while he had an infatuation with nature, he knew little to nothing about it, but he didn't care. He put his hand on it and smiled. "This one will be perfect!" He took a light jump and he was soon sitting on a large branch nearest the top. He sat there, swinging his legs over the edge as he surveyed the entire party, he had, of course, hid away a large bottle of sake under his robes with a small cup. "Ah, nothing better than my own company, sake and a tree. Hm, sweets would make this a bit better I suppose but we don't always get what we want. Hahaha." He was talking with himself, not necessarily a good thing to be doing around strangers to which he was trying to impress and get to know better, the only thing he was painting right now was a picture of insanity, though it didn't seem to phase him. "Hm, I should greet Nu Taichou..." He said to himself as he continued to drink. He looked up into the sky and began to drift off, he fell asleep and fell of the branch and hit his head on a large boulder at the bottom of the tree. "OW!" He screamed rather loudly rubbing the back of his skull, tears forming in his eyes. "How is it possible I continue to do that..?" The throbbing continued for a few moments, before he fall back on the soft grass and began sleeping right beside the busy walking path of the party guests.

She could have sworn she had just spotted the boy, hanging about the food tables, before something caught her eyes. While running. a falling blur crashed down to the ear, atop a nearby boulder. Wincing, an eye raised identified the object as a shinigami, a captain to be exact. Walking forward, she tries to get a clear view of the boy's face. She had heard of this one before by rumor Czar. a boyish stature, but still a captain in strength. Approaching the boy carefully, she bended down, deciding against kicking the boy as she would have done to anyone else. "Oi, yer making a scene.....wake up!"

Shaking him harder, she wonders how much more of this he could take before waking up. Sighing, she picks up the small boy cradling style, frantically looking around for somewhere to set him. The last thing she needed was for people to see this. Spotting a bench, she sets down the boy carefully, before resuming her violent assault. She surmised that is he was a captain, he could take a few hits.
