YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.
And just like a repeat of the one before, Tybalt made the same mistake. Once again, he watched the arrow knock the mannequin back without doing any real damage. The only difference this time, was that that arrow glanced off the mannequin and did a little spin in the air before it landed harmlessly onto the ground.

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. It was getting closer, too close, far too close, and the strength in Alex's arms was beginning to wane. His focus was gone, he found his eyes wandering to other students who were nearby, fighting their own battles, winning or losing. He wanted to find Yin, to see how his bonded was faring but he knew that was one distraction he probably really did not need, especially if the other boil was doing poorly. Maybe...maybe he could just take a break, just for a little bit. Just to let his arms rest. His eyes found that of the teachers form, the proud horsewoman of war who had taught them everything that they needed to know up until this point. Would she think less of him if he didn't raise this bow with arrow nocked and at least try to hit the target? The answer was quite obvious to him, and was the reason that, even though it hurt, he gave it another go. Arrow nocked and ready to go, he raised his bow, fumbling to keep the arrow in place as he pulled back and released... ...just as a large gust of wind came, carrying away his weak attempt and making the arrow go far, far too wide. Maybe it would hit somebody else's target, but it most certainly was not going to hit Alex's. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.
Slightly amused at the lost shot, the black dog drew another arrow from the quiver. Only this time double checking his grip on the nock before he let the arrow fly. It worked---sort of. The shot wasn't perfect, but hit its mark and with enough force again to push it back.

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. The mannequin was closing in on those last, precious few feet. If it got much closer, Alex would have been able to throw an arrow at it and possibly hit it better then he was doing with the bow. But really, with the distance it was at now, handling the bow really could not be that hard, could it? His back protesting against every movement, Alexander gritted his teeth and bent down, this time pulling two arrows out of the quiver, and stabbing one into the dirt in front of him for easier retrieval. Then, he slid the arrow he held into place, gripping it as tight as his numb and tingling hands would allow as he raised the bow. He closed his eyes briefly, meditating, but not in the way the teacher had taught him. He was trying to convince himself that there was no pain, that his body felt fine, and that he was fine. It was just mind over matter, really. If he could trick his mind into believing there was nothing wrong, well then...maybe it would work. When he felt as comfortable as he was going to, he opened his eyes, drew back the arrow, and released. It didn't have far to fly, and it took the mannequin in the face, making it stumble back but...it was just not far enough. YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.
This time was completely different from the times before. This time the arrow didn't even leave the platform. Nope. It fell, from his grip before he could even draw the string back. Allowing the mannequin to advance freely with no hindrances at all.

SWEET VICTORY! YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE. Alex reached forward for the arrow he had sunk into the dirt in front of him, not hesitating to bring it to the bow and pull back on string even as he set it in place. He stood there for a time, watching the mannequin as it stayed on it's course, heading directly towards him. He waited, until it was so close he could count the stitching across it's chest, before he released the arrow, which he aimed directly for the mannequin's knee, hoping to finally bring it down at last. The arrow punctured through the leather, tearing a hole in the stitching, causing it to unravel, though the dummy continued to stumble, this time forward instead of back. Alexander backed up inside of his dirt hovel, lowering his bow to hold it in a two handed grip, bottom wedged into the dirt at his feet as he practically leaned on top of it. He knew he did not have time to draw another arrow, to fire again. That had been his last hope, his last option, and now the enemy was at his doorstep, and he had nothing left to give. He could only watch as the mannequin lunged into his fortifications. He could hear the snapping of pine cone's beneath the mannequins feet and that gave him a grim sense of satisfaction to some extent. The dummy continued to drive forward, however, not even stopping when it impaled itself on one of the pointed sticks jutted out towards it. It was really one of the most creepy and disquieting things Alex had ever witnessed, and he wished he could back even further away, but could not. As the mannequin pressed forward, it was eventually met with the tangle of thorny vines. It was reaching forward, trying to claw it's way past but the vines were now getting tangled around it's arms, thorns biting into that roughened and patched up leather. With one last shuddering lurch, the dummy stopped. It was...it was over. Alex stared, wide eyed, pale grey eyes flickering left and right. Was that...was that supposed to happen? Did he pass, or..or did he fail? It was hard to tell, really. He guessed that since the mannequin had never reached him, that was...a victory? His eyes flicked away from the dummy, clearly confused. "I..I think I'm finished!" He called out towards the teacher, as he turned and clambered his way carefully out the back of his fort. It was time to hang up his bow. The class was over, he had finished, yet he did not feel satisfied. Opponent's HP: 9/30 from arrow damage, -7/30 for reaching the fort. Damage Dealt: 4, and then 16 from Fort ( think that's right?) After that last one, Tybalt was now torn between laughing and being irritated. It sucked that he was doing a s**t poor job for this class, but he couldn't help but be amused at just how badly he was doing either.
Ah well. Stick with your day job, dog.

Somehow, fortunately for him, he managed to keep both his temper and laughter under control long enough to draw and fire another arrow. Though like many before, it was a harmless shot that did nothing more than push the mannequin back another few feet.

He was really beginning to doubt his capability with a bow by now, but like before, he pressed on. He wasn't going to give up half way. He had already decided that! And with Jack as his witness, he was going to stand by that decision!
Drawing the string back, he let another arrow fly, listening to the sharp whistle of the arrow as it shot through the air and buried itself in the mannequin's chest.

Keeping calm, despite his performance, the black dog readied another arrow. The mannequin was certainly closer now. He only had a few more shots before it would be on top of him and he had to make them count, because it was showing no sign of slowing down.
Sighing, he let the arrow fly. Unfortunately, he aimed a little two high and it lodged itself somewhere up in a tree beyond the target.
....
Whoops.

YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.
Tybalt reached for another arrow. The mannequin was practically standing in front of his fort now. Any moment and he was going to face the consequences of his failure.
....
Yeah right.
He fired another arrow at it, knocking it back another couple of feet. He was going to prolong his 'death' as long as he possibly could.

The arrows, despite shooting it a second time, did nothing more than knock it back a few feet. Oh it was coming to kill him alright. Kill him and destroy his nice little fort.

ARRGH, DEFEAT!YOU HAVE AN ARROW IN YOUR KNEE FACE.As predicted, the mannequin arrived shortly after the last shot. Which, to be honest, wasn't all that surprising to the black dog. After his shoddy archery skills of the day, he was surprised it hadn't arrived sooner.
"Getting old are yah, old timer?" He asked, knowing that it could neither hear, nor answer him. Tybalt on the other hand cringed and sucked in an unneeded breath, as it went about destroying his fort. His fort---now laying in pieces ( Jack rest its soul ), did however, do a pretty good job on wearing the mannequin down. By the time the mannequin reached him, it was stumbling around and leaning heavily on one leg. Unfortunately, it still had more then enough strength to knock out his Fear shield and end the lesson.
"Welp... Looks archery lessons are a definite." He muttered, getting back to his feet and dusting himself off.
At least he made it fight for every inch of ground.

YOU HAVE MY SWORD - IN YOUR FACE.
She was so paranoid just sitting here. It was terrible, this torture they had to undergo. Mostly because as Danny sat there, waiting for the mannequin to come get her, it wasn't the mannequin she was waiting for. It was a hunter. She kept picturing the white coat bursting through the forest, gun in hand ready to shoot her down. She had next to no defense when it came to her own imagination. Every branch that broke, every leaf that fell- it was impending doom.
When the mannequin finally came bursting through the woods, Danny just about jumped out of her pants. She took a few steady breaths as the dummy searched the area for her. Danny knew it could sense her, but wasn't sure how long her "camouflage" of a fort would hold up.
Turns out it wasn't long. Once the dummy set its eyes ... err ... face on her, it immediately started tromping towards her fort, but Danny had prepared herself. The dummy started by tripping over the pinecones she had set out, only to be impaled by the sticks jabbing out of her fort. Danny shuddered a little, her mind flashing back to the trials of war when she had been impaled. Dissipating was never fun- it always sort of made her shiver to think about it.
The dummy wasn't done yet though, even after being stabbed through. It was probably because the thing was just enchanted with FEAR- it didn't know what it was doing after all. It just pushed itself up, stick and all. It was actually sort of neat how it could move with the stick stabbed through its stomach and all.
Unfortunately for the dummy though, once it pushed off the dirt pile, it fell into the trap of the vine thorns. It went backwards over the vines, cutting itself on the way down, and landed just so neatly that the stick came sliding out so very neatly. Danny couldn't help but be impressed by her work.
As if to top it all off, her trashbot came out and starting chopping the dummy's legs with its tiny little claws. Awwwww. Wasn't that adorable!
