Moriarty felt a hand on his shoulders and opened his eyes to see Creed standing above him. The victorious grin on the grass pokemon's face was all the confirmation Moriarty needed. Accepting Creed's hand and climbing to his feet, the two pokemon rounded the corner back out into the alley.
Adrian greeted them with a warm smile as he rose from tightening the knot on the wriggling net of squirtles. “Excellent work, you two,” he praised as he stepped around the cluster and held out his arms. Without any hesitation, both Creed and Moriarty leapt up into the embrace. After a moment, Adrian loosened his hold as he asked, “Is this all of them from that splinter group?” Both pokemon shook their heads and hopped down.
“Where's the other one?” Moriarty asked Creed.
“Back in the side alley,” Creed said, pointing the way for Adrian's sake before dashing off with Moriarty on his tail. They rounded the corner together but pulled up short at the sight of the empty alley.
“Where?” Moriarty asked, his eyes sweeping the lane.
“He was right there,” Creed answered, pointing toward the jumbled pile of old PC cables in the middle of the path. Approaching the remnants of his binding, Creed sighed as he noticed more loose cables from the pile trailing further down the alley. “He must have gotten loose and took off that way.”
“I can see that!” Moriarty exclaimed. Frustration tainted his words as he picked up one of the coils and continued, “What are these?”
“Hey, I had to think fast! You threw that squirtle all but at me and then you hurled a thundershock at us. Were you trying to hit us?”
“I wasn't aiming for either of you! The attack was suppose to pass harmlessly overhead but close enough to make that semi-conscious turtle think twice about messing with us.”
“Well, your aim was a little too true. That attack was coming right for us. Luckily I remembered a trick Adrian had used against you back when we met. I grabbed one of the metal garbage can lids and threw it at your bolt. It defused your strike and thankfully left us both unharmed. Did you really have to do that?
“It was for the theatrics of the moment. I had to make it look convincing. That I wouldn't take their defiance and I remembered something Adrian had said when he read us Shakespeare. In classic theater, most major violence or violent deaths occurred offstage. It kept the audience guessing. If the rest of the squirtles couldn't see that I had actually spared their leader, they would believe that I was indeed a vengeful god.”
“Or a deranged psychopath.”
“Whichever would have worked,” Moriarty said with a shrug.
Creed sighed. “Either way, you got your wish. The squirtle promptly fainted. I then grabbed the wire from a nearby garbage can, tied him up as best I could, and rushed to the edge of the way to see if you needed my help.”
“Wait. Back up. You used the cables to tie him up? Why not use your vines?”
“I don't have vines. All I have are leaves.”
“What kind of grass type are you?!”
“Hey, that's like saying all electric types can light a light bulb.”
“We can. Duh.”
“Yeah, that's what I figured. You're pretty generic, a dime a...” Creed's voice trailed off as he noticed Moriarty's face harden. Angry sparks danced about the pikachu's cheeks. It was then that Creed remembered what Moriarty had told him. The pikachu had been called useless by his former trainer. He could take being called common similar to being called worthless.
Without a word, Adrian stepped between the two. Although their trainer's posture was calm, his expression brook no argument. Whatever their dispute was, it was over. Turning his gaze back to Moriarty, Creed still saw an ember of anger glittering in the pikachu's eye. “I'm sorry,” the snivy said, bowing his head in sincerity. “I shouldn't have said that.”
“No,” Moriarty said with a sigh as his temper subsided. He knew Creed wasn't calling him useless. “I had that coming.” Holding out his hand, past Adrian's leg, Moriarty and Creed shared a fist bump before stepping back. “So how far do you think he got?”
“Not very, if I had to guess. Your performance really had him rattled. He kept muttering that the Lord of Lightning was going to get him.”
“I was very convincing, wasn't I?” Moriarty said with a triumphant smirk.
“Oh yeah...If you believe that would work on a more traveled foe, then by all means, I'll let you strut around, Rathe,” Creed replied in a sarcastic tone with a teasing smile.
“That's Lord Rathe,” Moriarty said pompously before devolving into a snicker that Creed joined in on.
“I'm glad to see that you two worked that out, whatever that was,” Adrian said as he knelt down next to them. “I'm going to assume that at least one of them got away?” His smile warmed as both Creed and Moriarty nodded. “I wouldn't worry too much about it. You were both able to keep the majority of them in one spot until I could catch up to you. I'm quite proud of you both. I'll also have to thank Sage for being such an excellent guide.” Raising to his feet, Adrian continued, “Come on. Let's haul these guys back to the lab for now. We'll let Kit hunt down the missing squirtle. The storm is just about to descend on us. I hope she is doing alright.”

Once on the train. Reina had expected a fight to be waiting for her. The two goons Anka had knocked off the train however, seemed her only adversaries. Regardless, Reina took to the defensive, pressing her back against a cargo box. The two men in the truck hadn't simply vanished, both did eventually show up, one already going to take his mask off before the other stopped him. "Stop you idiot, that crazy chick on the bike got on board!" He shouted, looking back towards the entrance to the train, the ramp still down the doors were wide open revealing all the light of the day. "We gotta get that door closed!" He shouted. "Find the chick and kick her off first." With that, the two approached, heading down the length of the truck. They seemingly ignored Reina's bike, it laying on it's side safely snagged on some netting. She agreed though, they did need to get that door closed. "Nepherti, wrap'em up, Anka use Ice Shard to close up that door a bit." Reina ordered, hopping out from her hiding spot she used a powerful kick to knock one of the goons into the other. Nepherti quickly appeared, her long beautiful body already coiling around the goon before she'd even fully appeared.
That settled, Reina went over to her bike, finding a more secure place to leave it so it didn't fall out the opening in the back, just encase Anka's ice didn't hold. She then went to inspect the truck. "Who the hell are you, crazy chick!" One of the goons shouted. Reina ignored him, going to the back of the truck to inspect it's rather low-grade lock. A quick glance to Anubis was all she needed to do for the Riolu to jump up and karate chop the lock, busting it open. "Yo! You don't know who yer messin' with lady!" The other goon shouted. "Lay your mitts off that b-oof" Looking to his partner the one goon narrowed his eyes. "Rule number one, don't give away any secrets?" Reina pipped in. "Well, it wont be a secret for long." She added, thrusting open the door of the truck, what Reina saw next left her.. speechless.

However, old habits die hard, and Anka will sometimes steal something, usually jewelry or petty change, but she's quick to confess to Reina and return what she stole.

She lived for a few weeks at a sanctuary, but ever since Reina rescued her she knew she was meant to be with her. Nepherti is kind and very protective of all things smaller than her, and by her size standards, she's bigger than nearly everything. She doesn't like people touching her tail however (The Hexagon designed part of her body) She also doesn't understand her own strength.

She has a very gun-ho attitude, and is very eager to meet new people and make friends. She is quiet the opposite of her brothers and sisters, who all share the simular trait of being smug, belittling everything. First impression of Reina is wavy. She likes her so far.

This wasn't your everyday average Fletchling. No, this was far more majestic. The air coming off the bird was... cool. Though, it looked as though it should be far cooler. The bird was weak no doubt about it. Climbing into the truck, Reina was quickly upon the bird. A hand reached down to touch a chain but her hand recoiled.. it was burning hot. No wonder the bird seemed weak. It's energy was being sapped from it. "Nefret, I think I'll need your help with this one." The Egyptian stated, calling out yet another of her Pokemon. The female Salazzle slithered up close to Reina, smiling rather... suggestively towards Anubis, who took to looking around the truck as soon as she acknowledged him. "Come on now, time to be serious." Reina stated, placing a hand on Nefret's shoulder. "Could you do something about these chains? Anka is busy and they're to hot for me to handle." Nefret let out a sigh, then nodded. She knew when it was 'work' time.
Toying with Anubis set to the side for another time, Nefret went to work finding the source of the hot chains. Something had to be making them hot. Sooner she shut that off, the soon the bird would start feeling like it's old self again. Reina in the meantime took an evaluation of the random junk the goons had in their possession. "Aside from the bird, this all looks like dollar store junk. What you guys happen to get lucky?" Reina called back, hearing a few peeps before one goon apparently hit the other again. She grinned at this response, picking up a string of what appeared to be a pearl necklace. "I'm not one to take stolen merch, but if this stuff was taken from Unova... It'll be hard to send it back all the way there now. I bet we're half way to wherever this hunk-a-junk is going. I'll grab some stuff for proof and evidence when we get to where we're going I'll contact the local authority." Reina explained, though it was mostly to herself.
It was then the cry of the bird behind her, and the slow movements it made drew her attention. Nefret had done it, she'd found the heating box that was sending heat though out the chains. The air was already starting to feel colder. "Ah, the maîtresse awakes." Reina joked, standing up and returning to the front of the bird. Anka arrived just in time, having sealed off the opening in the train enough to risk falling out. "Extreme heat, meet extreme chill. Anka, freeze those chains so we can break'em."
What had to be about an hour later, they'd managed to finally break all the chains. Reina by this time had remembered the Pokedex she was given at the lab and used it. Finding out what she was looking at was an Articuno left her rather flabbergasted. She figured she'd been right on the money when it came to the goons being lucky. Aside from that, Anubis had come across an egg of all things. Another likely lucky find. "Pokemon like you don't likely belong to anyone, so aside from abuse, those cops weren't likely after those idiots because of you." Reina speculated. The egg maybe, but then again... some people would do anything to obtain a legendary Pokemon for their own pleasure. "Though I could be wrong." The Articuno ruffled it's feathers, cooing something softly towards Reina. 'She said she's thankful for you helping her. She's offered to join us.' Anubis translated as he hopped back onto Reina's shoulder. Quickly shooing Nefret away right after. "Join me? Well, I'd be très bête to turn you away." The Egyptian chuckled. "After all, I feel as though meeting a beauté like you is a once in a lifetime moment."

With the Articuno finally free, the bird rose it's body and stretched out it's wings as best it could. Reina gave it a rub on it's neck, smiling as the bird stretched out it's neck under her touch. "Well, how about we get off this rusty bucket and see just where the heck we are?" Reina suggested. The Articuno cooed happily, stepping forward pecking the ice with her beak. Her strength was indeed returning, Reina witnessed as one last fierce peck shattered Anka's ice and opened the back of the train once more. Stepping to the edge, the bird spread open her wings and with a jump from the train it was airborne, but not for long. It choose to land on the rails, turning back to wait for Reina.
Returning all but Anubis and Anak'su, Reina mounted her bike once more. "Alright, hold on tight.. this could be rough." She stated revving the engine of her bike. If she didn't do this right it could end up with them going into a barrel roll, likely injuring her severely or worse. Hoping for the best, Reina revved the engine once more, then took off. Popping into a wheelie at the last second the back tire left the train and landed hard on the tracks, pushing her weight forward, the front tire made contact and they were moving forward. A second later she slowed the bike down, pushing off the tracks and onto the side of the rail. despite all the crazy s**t she'd done with her bike, it still sometimes stole her breath when her tricks came out with her unscathed. As she recovered from her dance with death, the egyptian looked around the area, spotting a small man-made trail nearby. "Maybe that leads to a town?" Reina mused, motioning towards the trail. Looking to the Articuno as it approached her, Reina fished a Pokeball from her bag. "Right. You wanted to join me, yea? Would you be willing to travel in a ball?" It wasn't like she wanted to officially make the Articuno hers, but a golden bird like that could easily be seen in the sky unless it was cloudy. The Articuno however seemed not to care though, willingly pecking the button on the ball and letting itself be pulled in. Reina decided on calling it Ra, after the Egyptian god of the sun, given the birds golden colour. With that, she placed the bird's ball on her belt and continued towards the trail.
The trail was about 2o minutes long, leading them to the small farmtown of Pallet. "So we're in Kanto?" Reina mused. "Never expected to end up here." She continued. 'Oh Reina, look.' Anubis spoke up after they found out where they were. 'I think those thieves were heading here.' He continued. Reina looked to her shoulder, to which Anubis had crawled on top of. He was holding out what appeared to be a map, a city on the map was circled. Saffron City by the looks of it. "Good find, Anubis." Reina mentioned. "Looks like the rails go all the way into Saffron, so it's plausible. Maybe we should continue with this." Anubis nodded, eager to take on another case. "Let's just keep this little endeavor a secret from miss assistant." Reina joked. Anubis nodded once more. Looks like the vacation was officially on hold.

Bio / Personality - Anka was a Snorunt when she met Reina. Reina, just promoted to an Inspector was on a case on a series of bank robberies when she came upon the Snorunt, apparently abandoned by the criminals upon during their heist. It was Anka who became detrimental to solving the case, of which she and Reina grew a bond, eventually the Snorunt found a dusk stone and evolved so she could be stronger. However, old habits die hard, and Anka will sometimes steal something, usually jewelry or petty change, but she's quick to confess to Reina and return what she stole.

Bio / Personality - Nepherti has been with Reina since she was a rookie cop. The naive rookie was on a case against some Pokemon Smugglers, where she came across Nepherti, forced to evolve for her scales, as she wasn't a normal coloured Milotic, even by shiny standards. She lived for a few weeks at a sanctuary, but ever since Reina rescued her she knew she was meant to be with her. Nepherti is kind and very protective of all things smaller than her, and by her size standards, she's bigger than nearly everything. She doesn't like people touching her tail however (The Hexagon designed part of her body) She also doesn't understand her own strength.

Bio/Personality - Breed and raised in the professor's lab, this anxious young Snivy has awaited the many days before it became the partner to a trainer. She has a very gun-ho attitude, and is very eager to meet new people and make friends. She is quiet the opposite of her brothers and sisters, who all share the simular trait of being smug, belittling everything. First impression of Reina is wavy. She likes her so far.

It felt a little... nostalgic coming back to Pallet town, it felt like ages sense she was last here and now she was back, raising younger and less experienced pokemon once again. Umbra took a moment to enjoy the view of the sleepy little village off in the distance and allowed a brief smile to touch her lips. She quickly pulled herself out of her reminiscing and looked for the taller grass that the pokemon called their home. Nidoran should have an easier time here in this sort of setting, and then once she was comfortable that her pokemon was ready for some stronger pokemon she would bring them back to where they were previous. She had time, the best thing about traveling alone was that you could move at your own pace and the pace your pokemon needed in order to thrive on a team. It sure could be awfully lonely though. Not that Umbra was a stranger to loneliness by any stretch of the imagination - her pokemon companions were fine and all but sometimes human interaction was a major blessing for one's sanity. Umbra arrived to a large patch of grass and started to search for wild pokemon.

It didn't take much searching under the warm sun until Umbra found something that she was looking for; a rustling in the bushes let her know that there was a pokemon in the immediate area and that meant a pokemon battle. She stepped forwards and noted that a Pidgey was rummaging around looking for something to eat, when the girl was noticed the Pidgey gave her a sharp, angry look and started to take off at her.
[ Wild Pidgey appears: Level 3] Umbra sent out Nidoran and crossed her arms in front of her and took on an heir of cold confidence. She knew that this pokemon was going to be easy enough for her pokemon. "Alright Nidoran, we'll make this short and sweet. Use your scratch attack" Nidoran looked over at Umbra then looked back at the pidgey before lashing forwards with her paws and racking at the Pidgey. The wild pokemon was quickly over powered and fainted. [Nidoran Used scratch: Pidgey takes 40 damage Pidgey fainted! Nidoran gains 2 experience points]
Umbra raised the pokeball and returned her newest addition. It was clear that Nidoran wasn't quite used to having a human tell her what to do. But that was would all come in time. Umbra wasn't worried too much about such a thing as the more she worked with her new pokemon the more the pokemon would get used to her and warm up.

Umbra continued her search, it was turning out to be a really beautiful day outside and she was actually rather happy to be spending so much time out in the open instead of under the canopy of trees that Viridian forest would have given her. She stretched her arms above her head in a lazy manner as she continued to push her way through the tall grass in search of her pokemon's next opponent. She looked at her watch in order to get a feel for the time before she once more returned her attention back to what she was supposed to be doing. She pondered on whether she should call her Aunt soon? It had been a while and she probably didn't even know what starter she picked up... scratch that, Yuuki probably told everyone which starter she got. She gave a little huff at the idea of Yuuki opening her big mouth and telling everyone what she was up to and what Pokemon she had. It kind of took the fun out of surprising everyone later. Umbra supposed that she would call her Aunt when she got her first Gym badge, at least then she would have something to call her about.

Umbra took a quick break under a rather large tree and looked around, she couldn't help but marvel at the scenery that spread out before her and she had a feeling that she had better enjoy this now while should could. Once she got into the cities again there would be little in the way of rustic tranquility that Pallet town and it's outskirts had to offer. Soon it would be noisy streets and bustling people getting in her way. She chuckled a little bit to herself at the thought of missing the country side as much as she seemed to be doing right now. Having been bounced around from family member to family member really did give her an appreciation for various living arrangements that people could experience. She guessed that she favored the more rustic places more than city life - not that city life didn't have its charms. The privacy and tranquility of open spaces and surrounding nature was just hard to beat for her and city life was just... too noisy sometimes. Umbra pushed herself up after a few more minutes of looking out at the imagery before her, between this and the warm pleasant whether she was going to fall asleep at this rate.

Umbra continued her search through the bushes with a still mind and open eyes. She could hear some pokemon scurrying around but it was hard to see where they were in all this tall grass. Finally after what felt like quite the little game of 'hide and go seek' she finally came across the source of the noise. A rattata was rummaging through the undergrowth and gnawing on various things to keep its teeth in check. Once their eyes met, it was time for a battle. Umbra pulled out Nidoran's pokeball and unleashed the little beast.

Nidoran did as it was told, seemingly finding it easier to listen to the human that had caught her. Trust was slowly starting to build between the two of them and the pokemon was getting used to her handler. [Nidoran used Scratch Rattata takes 40 damage Rattata fainted! Nidoran gains 2 experience.]
"Well done, Nidoran. I have a feeling that we will soon be able to go back to Viridian City and start training you there." Nidoran's whiskers twitched for a moment before it gave a happy chirp. It seemed to be pleased with the idea of getting stronger just as much as Umbra was. Umbra returned Nidoran to the pokeball and continued on with the search. She was confident that her party would be ready for Viridian forest soon, then the First Gym leader.

Umbra landed on her butt with a painful 'thump' as Blue had gotten out of his pokeball and demanded some love and attention in his own way. The streak of red materialized and launched itself backwards into Umbra's face where the Turtle pokemon wrapped it's arms around her head and smothered her with affection. Umbra gave some muffled sounds before frantically pulling the pokemon off her face so that she could breathe once more. Umbra gasped a few moments for oxygen before giving one final deep breath. "Good Grief, Blue, I hope that you grow out of that before you become a Blastoise." Squirtle wiggled its way out of her grasp and latched onto her chest before snuggling once more into her embrace. Umbra gave something of a short chuckle as she rested her hand on her pokemons head and gave it a few pats, much to the joy of the pokemon. Umbra wondered why on earth the little pokemon was so interested in giving her all this... attention. Maybe she should keep him out of his pokeball for a while and let him burn off some of this need for attention. "I guess you want to stay out of your pokeball for a while, huh, Blue?" Squirtle gave a couple of nods in response. Umbra sighed and looked around to make sure that nobody was looking. "Alright then, you can help me find some pokemon for Nidoran to fight." Squirtle pulled back and gave her a bit of an upset look. Umbra's face softened and she place a hand on her starters head. "You're getting to be a big and strong Pokemon, Blue, but Nidoran and Jynx still need to get some battles in so that they can help us with becoming champions. Don't worry. I'll be relying on you before you know it and then you'll be so sick of coming out of that pokeball... but for right now, we need to work on getting everyone on the team strong, okay?" Squirtle seemed to pause for a moment in consideration before looking up at her with a look of strong determination and giving her a nod. He seemed to understand why Umbra was favoring the other Pokemon at the moment. "That's my good boy. Now, climb on and help me look for some Pidgey and Rattata for Nidoran." Squirtle happily climbed up on her back and Umbra found her feet again. With two pairs of eye the search should go smoother now!

The search continued as Umbra and Blue started to look around for Nidoran's next opponent, the sun was at least pleasant and Squirtle seemed to be chatting merrily with Umbra -despite her having no idea what he said at all. Umbra reflected a little bit on her situation, the other two girls who were traveling with her went on ahead of her on their journey when she went after a rumor. She imagined that they were probably half way to becoming champions by now and here she was still prepping for her first gym badge. She gave a bit of a defeated sigh at the thought, earning her a pat on the head from her Squirtle and a dry chuckle from her. At least her Pokemon were being relatively patient and understanding towards her, even if she wasn't doing the same for herself. She expected more from herself and this juggling between finding a Legendary that she would never be able to catch and raising pokemon at the same time wasn't working for her. She needed to focus on one thing or the other, there wasn't going to be a middle man here. Once she got her team raised she could then go comfortably after the Pokemon that she needed to capture in order to change herself back. That seemed like a more reasonable goal to her - a one step at a time process that lead to the next step.

With a pokemon found, Umbra didn't stop or hesitate to let a Nidoran out of her pokeball and get into the fight. Squirtle seemed to give words of encouragement to the young Nidoran as she came out of the ball and eyed up her opponent. "Okay Nidoran, you know what to do at this point, use Scratch and finish this pokemon off quickly." Sometimes it seemed like it was more work to find the pokemon than to actually take it down. Umbra guess that this was just part and parcel of the training with her pokemon. Nidoran did as she was told without missing a beat, lunging forwards with a raking clawed attack. [Nidoran used scratch Pidgey took 40 damage- Pidgey fainted! Nidoran gains 2 experience]
Hmm... these pokemon are starting to seem a little too easy for you, Nidoran. Perhaps it is time that we moved forwards and got you some stronger opposition?" It was food for thought though Umbra wasn't sure how ready Nidoran was with that. Her scratch attack wasn't as strong as a tackle but she supposed that it wouldn't hurt to get some tougher pokemon to fight either. She seemed like she had grown enough to take a hit just as good as the other pokemon on her team. Umbra returned Nidoran to her ball and started to head back towards Viridian city. She would get a feel for Nidoran's abilities there, and if all else failed she could come back here later.

Walking out of Professor Oak's lab and into Pallet town, Ryonah was practically giddy as she nuzzled her cute little Bulbasaur on the head. Her cheeks flushing as her expression remained the same. "I am so happy right now Buck. I've waited so long to be a trainer. I am happy to have you as my partner. I hope we have lots of fun together~." she said happily as her emotionless face was a deep tinge of red. This made Buck happy as he nuzzled his nose right against his trainer's cheek. "Bulba bulba~~" said the happy little grass type as it was being carried around in his trainer's arms. Ryonah decided to take a bit of a tour of the small town. She wanted to see if there was anything noticeable in the town that she could take pictures of with Buck. Her feet bouncing on their heels as she was exploring the town with her pokemon.
