Oh, decisions decisions. Well, Haldane himself didn't have a preference one way or the other, and without the influence of his brother or the much more seasoned and wise advice from Bellatrix, he could have wallowed over the decision for hours. Luckily, he had a coin in his subspace pocket! Why did he have a coin in his subspace pocket? Well, he saw it on the ground a few nights ago and picked it up in a moment of 'oooh! shiny!' aaaaand since his uniform didn't have pockets, in to subspace it went!
So, summoning the coin, he flipped it - would he be going north or south? The coin would decide!
((Even, north, Odd, south.))
North it was! Haldane joined the group heading to the North door. Uh...what were those sounds? This uh....this was going to be interesting.

Portia DSS of CryptogrophyIdly listening to the explanation of traps, machinery, and all sorts of annoyances, a cruel little smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. That could be something nice to get a bit of her anger out on but at the same time, she didn't want to get hurt over helping someone solve their own issues. It was their world and she didn't see any reason really why she should follow them on what sounded like the more dangerous path. Pulling her hand away from the gauges she was looking over, she followed at the edge of the group. The other one, Hati, she thought was their name, might be a bit more interesting. At least that path sounded quieter even if a large group of loud and cheerful senshi was going down it. It was too loud but maybe she might get to see if any of these people were worth a damn. They were an all too colorful bunch in her opinion, they all looked so wildly different from each other, there were too many variables and she didn't like that either. It didn't help their case in her opinion but it was something to watch and listen to, even if it irritated her. Part of her also thought it might be worthwhile to see whatever this eternal engine was blow up in their face. Maybe she was bitter, that they didn't have to deal with what she had, but she felt justified in her hatred of all of this and how futile it seemed. The only positive outcome in her case was that if she helped some of these naive little humans, she might find whatever encryption key would help her figure out what those damn words were before she dropped a match in that library. The path to the south would at least give her something interesting to look over, maybe looking at new puzzles and ciphers would be good for expanding her knowledge of these people and their insignificant problems.

Chang'E DSS of ElationGlad that things seemed to settle he nodded slightly and brightened as Aruna walked over. "Yes she's quite pleasant." Bringing it up even though he knew she would no doubt prove his statement within just a few moments. "I will meet up with you later Aruna, I want to see what I can find out from Asmodeus. Maybe I've been here before?" Thinking for a moment as he noticed the crowds starting to move. "Be careful, alright?" Waving the girl off as she soon departed to rejoin her group, he moved towards the opposite door even with the louder noises. "Even if it sounds louder, I believe it might be best to stick with the person who knows this world most personally. Things are still hazy, maybe because of just how much time passed, but it's not all bad." At least Brioche was pleased and patient while he figured things out and that was more than anyone on his world had the courtesy of giving him before.

Reims, Knight of GanymedeThey’d felt the pull, of course. It was difficult to ignore, although Reims weighed the odds before taking hold of Dering’s hand and answering.
They would be back soon. These things didn’t usually take very long. He didn’t like the idea of Dering being in distress if anything bad happened, but he could see the look in his friend’s eyes. That overwhelming desire to make sure people were okay. To help where he could. To do something. To be worth something.
Ridiculous, Reims thought, of course. Dering was too kind for his own good. He was quiet and shy and just wanted to make sure people were being looked after. Of course he would want to help, despite what he thought of his flaws and shortcomings. Reims feared that, if Dering believed it would benefit others, he would simply lay on the ground and let them trample him.
So, of course Reims couldn’t let him go anywhere on his own. Especially to some alien planet with a bunch of strange people and loud voices and talks of puzzles and traps and --
Oh, that was Amarynthos and Ephesus. And their cat.
Reims bristled a little. Not because he didn’t consider them his friends. Their friends. But because he didn’t want Elliot teasing him at school for holding Dering’s hand or something ridiculous. Not that Elliot usually teased him, but… he could.
And so, he drew in a deep breath and turned to their friends.
“What’re you thinking about all this?” he asked as he approached. He didn’t let go of Dering’s hand.Ephesus, Knight of the MoonHe was reassured that Amarynthos and Lucien were going to be with him, but it was still pretty scary thinking about traps and things that could hurt them.
He would just have to keep an eye out for anyone who might need help. He had his magic, so he wasn’t completely helpless.
Although after hearing a familiar voice, he couldn’t help but brighten.
“Dering! Reims!” he smiled, taking a step away from Amarynthos’ side so he could move closer to Dering to give him a hug. After making sure Dering was okay with him letting go, he turned to give Reims a hug as well. He ignored the grumbling and waited until Reims gave his back an awkward pat before letting go.
“It’s good to see you both,” he said, as though they hadn’t just seen each other at school. Lucien - Cat FormAs Lucien made himself comfortable in Amarynthos’ arms, he listened quietly to the Senshi named Asmodeus. There was a lot to take in. The cave felt familiar, but perhaps it was just caves in general that brought a sense of unrest to the Mauvian. The gears and large brass doors and steamworks made it clear that this world once boasted a thriving society. They were inventors and engineers, or at least that was what Lucien could only assume, given their surroundings.
He took note of others as well. Of the ones who asked questions, of the many Senshi who had answered the call for help. A familiar Mauvian caught his attention, and although he would have liked to let Brioche know that he’d taken the time to look into more human technology, it didn’t look as though the other seemed interested in being social at the moment.
Lucien could respect that. Sometimes he would prefer to just sit and observe without having to navigate through small talk. The most important thing was that they were both there, ready to help what Senshi and Knights they could.
Puzzles intrigued him, although he frowned at the prospect of traps and automatrons. He certainly wasn’t planning on leaving the Moon Knights’ sides. He would never be able to forgive himself if they were injured and he had to explain to Devyn that he’d been there, but was unable to protect them.
As luck would have it, two others they were familiar with appeared. Knights that were friends of Amarynthos and Ephesus.
“As long as we are careful and observant, we should be able to make it through the hall with little difficulty,” he puffed out his chest as best he could in Amarynthos’ arms. “The ingenuity of all those gathered together for a common cause is unrivaled. Everyone here came voluntarily, thus must all be looking towards the goal of helping this world.”
He knew they’d only just arrived, but he was already proud of them. All of them. They would overcome whatever challenge they met, he was sure of it.

Mauvian Brioche - Cat FormOh dear, oh dear, oh goodness! If Brioche could blush under all that fluff and fur, he'd be absolutely tickled pink at the kindness and politeness the young one before him showed! Enough so that he peeked out a little further from under Chang'E, offering a pleased sweet few slow blinks at Aruna. "I-it is a pleasure for me too! Thank you, Miss, for helping my Chang'E. Thank you, thank you!" This wasn't the time to get all flustered and goofy about his Senshi. As much as he wanted to dote on him and emphasis just how wonderful he was, this was about Asmodeus's home. There would be time for that later. "Must be saying goodbyes now, Aruna, wherever Chang'E goes, I follow." Partially because he swore to never leave his Senshi's side, partially because he was being carried and it was lovely up here. "We go North. Be well, friend! When all is over, we go see the bakery! Sweets for all, yes yes!"

UraniaUrania was glad to see Ephesus and Amarynthos again. They had both been quite helpful in the past. Certainly they would be here. She was glad Amrynthos liked puzzles. She did, too. And she certainly wouldn’t rat Ephesus out to anyone, even Alastor. She waved to them both and to Procyon who had helped her with testing her magic. So the automatons are robots. Urania found the answer to Solaris’s question fascinating. She wondered what they would look like. Robots could be anything. They were manmade, after all. “One may have automatons and the other is silent… I guess silent doesn’t mean no automatons, either. I kind of want to see one even if it’s dangerous. They sound so fascinating.” She really loved other senshi worlds and what wonders could be found. “Here is my contact in case we get separated.”She shuddered at the idea of traps. She didn’t like them. She always found them rather unfair. But she could be perceptive if she knew what to look for. Pattern recognition was a strong suit. But what path to choose? She didn’t know. What ground would need her skill set most? It was hard to tell. Automatons or silence? Well, she guessed that she did want to see the automations really bad… She would go south. ❂

Amarynthos, Knight of the Moon and Dering, Knight of Lysithea
Dering trailed after Reims quite willingly, and though he kept looking around as if he didn’t quite trust the place, there was still a little bounce in his step as he approached his friends. He was relieved to be here, despite the way his nerves prickled. Someone was asking for help, how could he ignore it?
Reims must have thought the same because he’d been quicker to accept the call.
Upon first arrival, there was just a lot to take in. It was an unfamiliar area with unfamiliar people. He hadn’t had time to worry about if they’d made the right decision because Amarynthos’ voice cut through the crowd of unknowns.
Reims didn’t even try to hide from them! He found his way through the crowd and Dering had followed enthusiastically, holding his lute close to make sure he didn’t accidentally bump anyone.
When they stood together, he lessened his hold on the instrument, but not Reims’ hand, and returned Epheus’ hug. .
“Reims, Dering!” Amarynthos said, mirroring Ephesus’ excited greeting. He waited while Ephesus distributed his hugs, all the while making sure Lucien could adjust himself to be both comfortable and dignified in his arms.
“It’s good to see you two.” He didn’t comment on Reims’s hand on Dering’s and made sure his eyes didn’t drift from their faces. He didn’t want Reims to get all worked up when they needed to be level headed and focused. “I’m thinking that those traps don't sound as bad as I was thinking. And Lucien's said all the rest! He sounds about as confident as I am! I was thinking we three ought to have things under control, but with you two here? It’s guaranteed.”
Urania looked like she was going South; he smiled and nodded as she moved. He'd have waved but he needed both arms to carry Lucien, not that the Mauvian had asked for it.
They still needed to figure out where they were going, but she was a Deep Space Senshi. She'd seen a lot, been through a lot.
...The South path would probably be in safe hands with her and her experience. He looked to the North.

Super Sailor Solaris ★
At least she was right about that bit of vocabulary. Breaking them was allowed if necessary, but disabling or otherwise turning them off was preferable. Easy enough--in concept. She wasn't holding her breath for actual practice, though, least not until she got to see them in person. Her gaze followed as the senshi spoke about clanking behind the northern door, wings flexing slightly at her back as she considered. Exactly how susceptible to magic they'd be... was a bit more of a concern to her, but as she glanced around the cave and eyed its structure, her brow furrowed slightly. Maybe her magic wouldn't be ideal to use here, depending on how close-quarters the path ended up being, and how much of a risk it might be to strike an ally or propel them into metal or rock along the walls...
She continued to weigh her options on how she could proceed, how she might best be able to help, when she glanced again towards the two young knights. She could feel their energy signatures, and a small smile tugged at her lips. They'd been... Squires before, right? She could have sworn she remembered that from Alastor's world. All the more reason to appreciate the stronger aura they held now. Young as they were, they were still doing what they needed to to earn that power. Wishing Earthlings didn't have to deal with all this fighting and turmoil did nothing to change the situation, but she could still acknowledge the lengths they went to. The improvements they were making.
Asmodeus signaled for them to head out, and Solaris watched as the two young Knights headed towards the northern door. Her own considerations aside, she followed after them, picking up her pace to catch up. Help another senshi with their world, and get to put some names to faces--all a win-win in her book.
