Sailor Ran of Games
HP: 34/50
Action: attacking the boss
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 1d4 = 12 dmg
Boss HP: 108/350

He’d found himself isolated from the people he recognized. He supposed that gave him one choice: try not to be a drag on the people he didn’t recognize but who would probably still appreciate his help. Gritting his teeth, he murmured the name of his magic and threw the corresponding pieces at the monster’s feet. Maybe the pit would trip it up. One could hope, right?

Ran just knew he was keen not to take any more damage.

Eternal Deep Space Selinur.
HP: 73/100
Action: Being knocked off balance, nearly off his feet, being caught and throwing something at the monster.
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: Physical damage
Boss HP: 96/350

Of course it had decided to throw more trash at him, a lot more, and when it slammed into him with unexpected force the ancient senshi was thrown back several feet. He would have lost his footing, and likely wound up in the noxious water below, if not for Alastor grabbing him about the waist and holding him till he had his footing.

Sniffing at himself he drew back from the other in order to gag, choke, and even make a sound that most would call a whine - he would deny he was whining. "I really would like to remove my nose right now." Because his nose was being abused, there was no way around that. The garbage which hit him was nothing compared to the suffering of his poor nose. Reaching up, to one of his ears, he felt around and found it wet...and debris was in his fur and oh god...the stink was never going to come out.

Pulling the bits of debris from his fur he let it fall to the ground, touching it with just the tips of his fingers because he couldn't let it touch too much of his skin. This was not what he wanted to be doing...but he really needed to be here. Finally he gave the cat a nod of his head. "It's a pleasure to meet you Lucien, Selinur." A fist pressed to his chest as he introduced himself. "I'll be better once we're off this planet and it's been rid of chaos." And once he got home and took a bath, he needed to get the stink off himself.

Finding a bit of trash, something which looked to have some weight to it, he picked it up reluctently and threw it towards the creature.

Abzu, Squire of Neptune &
Ibirapitá, Deep Space Senshi of Shade
Abzu HP: 59/75
Abzu Action: Saxophone generosity encouragement go--.
Abzu Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10+2d4 = 15

Ibirapitá HP: 34/50
Ibirapitá Action: Reflecting
Ibirapitá Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 6
Boss HP: 75/350

Abzu saw that the monster was quite happy to fight them, and he supposed that Abzu would make sure to fight him back. He shifted his alto saxophone, fingering some of the keys as he looked to see what his companion did.

Ibirapitá, for his part, was watching the monster as if that would provide a useful answer.

"Why don't you try something, Ibi?"

Ibirapitá's eyes narrowed, but he didn't bother to criticize Abzu for the unwanted nickname. This time, it wasn't worth it. "Abzu, dost thou not realize?" He picked up a rock, glancing toward the wailing oiled creature. "I have informed thou that my magic does not work."

Oh for--

Abzu sighed heavily, returning his lips to the reed of his saxophone. Well, if Ibirapitá didn't want to make a move, Abzu would give it a shot--

Ibirapitá idly flicked what he was holding in the monster's direction, not expecting or even wanting to hit it, necessarily. Why had Abzu brought him here, again? Was it because this was another alien? He wasn't exactly connected to anyone else.

... Clearly.

Lanting, Page of Ida
HP: 24/50
Action: Physical attack, punching the monster. we are doing our best.
Damage Done: 4
Boss HP: 71/350

It was Kaifeng's voice that jolted Lanting back to reality. Even though he still swore he hard his Da-ge whispering in his ear (lay down, rest, REST, Shuangxu you can't do this, just stop, it'll all be easier--) he was able to force himself to focus again.

Corvina was running in to fight the monster, and he looked--he looked upset.

He was crying.

The sight of it made Lanting's chest hurt, and he forced himself to stand, running at the monster once more. This time, he didn't bother with his silly little wand, though.

"Corvina, I'm with you," he said, and he swung a punch at the monster, like he had any kind of actual ability.

At least it hit. At least he didn't feel totally pathetic.

At least he wasn't hanging back, all miserable, while Corvina did the real fighting.

BOSS HP: 71/350

The monster was, it was undeniable, coming apart.

Kaifeng’s club knocked a patch of debris free. Alastor’s magic spread, causing pieces of the monster to degrade and crumble, rotting away from its inner core. Monoceros’s spines, Yvoire’s parasol, the shower of thrown rocks from Dunnottar, Reims, Ibirapita, and Sigiriya—even Corvina’s seemingly misaimed punch knocked the thing’s shell away. Hyperborea’s forgotten spell struck the core underneath, and the monster yowled and recoiled—right into Ran’s pit.

More and more of it was coming apart, revealing more and more of what was underneath—oil, black and thick and viscous, and with a howl of agony, the last of the monster’s shell exploded—revealing its black core in full, and raining debris down on those fighting it.

    All characters take 1 damage!

For this round, the boss’s core is revealed—all attacks will do double damage!

Name: Kaifeng, Squire of Saturn
HP: 59 - 1 = 58 / 75 HP.
Action: WHACK WHACK WHACK (physical damage).
Damage Done: 1d10 x 2 = 20 damage.
Boss HP: 51 / 350.

The garbage monster was weakening—and how could it not have been? Everyone working together against it had been destined to wear the thing down eventually. Still, Kaifeng’s heart swelled with pride at everyone on this bridge for their combined efforts and their persistence in taking down this creature. Even as it made its whimpering attack to lash back at him, the Daedalan Chaos infection’s pleas for him to lay down, to rest, to just. STOP. felt as though they came from millions of lightyears away.

On top of that, Kaifeng had a good man to get home to, when this was all over. He needed to meet Stribor at the island in the center. He needed to get through the battle with whatever waited there, working hard and doing his best all the while. And then, he needed to get home, and get cleaned up, and get himself sprawled out and nestled upon Huanxi’s chest to tell him all about how great everyone had done, coming together without even entirely knowing each other and being so brave and persistent in fighting Daedalus’s Chaos monsters.

Heart full to bursting with love for his zhiyin and determination to get back to Helene, Kaifeng once more thwacked at the garbage monster with his bamboo club. Although his last couple attacks had also done very well, it felt like this one struck more truly, somehow. Maybe the monster’s shell was really done impeding them.

Looking towards the group, he called out, “The monster’s weak, everybody! Give it everything you’ve got! We can do this!!”

Lanting, Page SQUIRE of Ida
HP: 62/75
Action: Healing himself and Corvina with his shiny new magic!
Healing Done: 10 + 4 = 14
Boss HP: 51/350

"Shunagxu, honestly," his brother's voice said, tutting with disappointment, "what do you intend to accomplish here."

Lanting wanted to tell him to shut up, but the words died on his tongue. Even knowing it wasn't real, even knowing Da-ge wasn't here, he still felt a lead weight in his chest at the very idea of standing up for himself. At the very idea of insisting that he was capable, he was able to do this, he could be a knight--

But even if he couldn't say the words, he felt them in his chest.

Shuangxu was pretty useles,s it was true. But Lanting didn't have to be.

"I want to protect the people in front of me," he whispered, under his breath. "I want to save...everyone in front of me."

"As if wanting is going to fix this," Da-ge's voice said, and finally, Lanting snapped.

"Shut up," he hissed. "You're not real, and I'm going to help people."

There was something warm, in his chest. Like sometihng blooming, blossoming--

And suddenly, he wasn't holding a silly little wand anymore.

Lanting beamed, and he focused--and magic flowed through him. Real, powerful magic, that bloomed a field of orchids under his feet.

Da-ge's voice was silent, as if the new power had chased his spectre away entirely. And Lanting felt like his heart could burst from joy.

Quote:
Lanting taps his cane against the ground, and he glows with a soft purple light. He is surrounded by a field of orchids that extends to a 10ft radius, and allies within the radius feel a sense of sanctuary and safety, and find that minor wounds are fully healed and moderate wounds are alleviated. In order to receive the full effects of Lanting’s healing, they must remain in the radius for his full channeling time, and if he stops channeling early, full effects may not be applied. Lanting can channel for a total of 35 seconds at this stage.

Name: DSS Corvina of Windflowers
HP: 24 - 1 [monster’s attack] + 14 [Lanting healies] = 37 / 50 HP.
Action: Big starry heart-eyes as Lanting makes The Horrors stop. Also, continuing to PUNCH THE GARBAGE.
Damage Done: 1d8 x 2 = 10 damage.
Boss HP: 41 / 350.

“Trystaaaaane, honestly,” the Chaos specter continued, even managing to whine the way that Alys had always done when she’d felt particularly exasperated with whatever Corvina had been on about at any particular moment. It shifted, seeming to lean against the trash-beast, just like Alys had always ignored people tut-tutting about her posture and her standing as a noble daughter of Corvina in order to slouch against walls when she felt upset. “Varamyr and I have waited for so long already. Haven’t you done enough? What do you even think you’re fighting for? You couldn’t protect any of our people, you can’t even protect yourself.……”

Corvina trembled, his hands shaking beyond his control. Hearing this voice that he knew so well perverted like this…… Hearing what seemed to be Alys, and hearing her say such things that she never would have said? The tears flowed freely, streaming hot down Corvina’s cheeks. They wouldn’t stop. He couldn’t stop them. Everything was wrong, everything was broken, and he couldn’t even do anything

But then, Alys wasn’t there anymore.

A field of orchids had blossomed beneath Corvina’s feet. Some of the wounds he’d sustained while fighting the garbage-monster had healed. Corvina gasped softly as he realized that, and looked over toward Lanting……oh.…… Oh, he had powered up, unlocked the power of a Squire in the heat of battle.

Well, that provided sufficient motivation. Corvina couldn’t hold back, not when his Squire needed protection. Rearing back once more, Corvina beat his fists back into the garbage.

Sailor Ran of Games
HP: 33/50
Action: attacking the boss
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 1d4 = 14 x 2 = 28 dmg
Boss HP: 13/350

Ran threw up his arms with a shout when the monster exploded, sheltering his head from the debris raining down afterward. He had been keen not to take any more damage, but at least this damage didn't hurt as much as the previous damage had. He was able to brush himself off and most of the pain went with it. That being said, he did still wince when the movement aggravated one of his rapidly forming bruises.

The pit had disappeared, and Ran didn't want the monster just up and walking around and able to get at them. With another flick of a card, he hoped it would do a good enough job this time, as well. Giving himself something to do was also a welcome distraction.

Eternal Sailor Alastor
HP: 83/100
Action: Lucien is on his shoulder, talking to him and Selinur as he attacks the monster with magic
Damage: [Indirect Basic Magic; 10 + 4] = 14 (x2) = 28
Boss HP: -15/350

Alastor raised an arm to block what he could of the falling debris from himself and Lucien. For the most part, they seemed spared the worst of it. Still, he winced as Selinur peeled garbage from himself. Alastor felt the sudden urge to remove the sash from his waist and wrap it around his hair just to make sure he didn’t wind up with something grotesque hidden away.

Vanity was irrelevant here. He would save it for later. The monster was falling apart, so maybe Selinur was right when he’d first asked if they could tempt it to throw enough of itself at them to fall apart.

“Agreed,” he said to the other Senshi. “I hope you don’t have anything like this on your world.” Had Selinur managed to destroy whatever evil clung to his world? Did he have any? He was an Eternal Senshi now–something Alastor had not yet had time to compliment him on.

Maybe when this was over, when they had a moment of peace.

When they didn’t smell like garbage.

He tipped his head back just slightly, enough to be deliberate and to mimic a pet. He wasn’t going to wipe his hand on Lucien, not when he’d used his arm to block garbage earlier. “Don’t apologize, Lucien. Play to your strengths. We’re doing just fine for now.”

Not one had fallen in the filthy water or been devoured by the monster hidden in the garbage shell. Yet.

Like this, he wasn’t sure if the monster looked particularly intimidating. He wondered it would feel like if he tried to strike it with his fist. He tensed, almost as if he meant to investigate, but the weight of Lucien on his shoulders stalled him.

…Magic seemed safer, and he had plenty to spare. Even if they’d been cautioned to reserve their strength, Alastor was hardy and knew his limits.

And knew how to push them.

Besides, Sessrumnir and Ephesus were here to worry, and with Amarynthos at home with them there was no one to snitch on him.

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack:Loss

Alastor speaks the name of his attack and every enemy nearby will feel a sudden loss of hope, replaced instead with a strong sensation of despair. The area feels thick with gloom and misery and targets may feel as if there is suddenly an unbeatable obstacle they have no chance to overcome. Targets may feel absolute hopelessness and they may become acutely aware of the hardships and loss in their life. The magic does not cause physical damage but can be disorienting and emotionally draining. The magic lasts for thirty seconds and has three uses. It affects all enemies within a ten foot radius of Alastor and the magic will follow him if he moves, but the effects end if the character moves out of radius.

HP: 49-1=48
((I apparently goofed my roll but it looks like it doesn't matter anyway XD Its dead dead so ill just edit the post to pull the roll info))

Even while the desire to just lay down ate at his energy and will power the squire still gathered more rocks, reading them to throw. He was apparently moving so slowly though that the others, the better fighters, of his little group easily brought down the trash monster.

It was done. He was finished. He didn't have to move any more. Good. That was good. Why move? Why fight? It wasn't like he was very good at it anyway. Somethings were better this way, right?

Yvoire, Squire of Ganymede
HP: 47/75
Action: Pulling Reims away from the monster.
Damage Done: N/A
Boss HP: 0

“It’s okay, it doesn’t hurt,” Yvoire said.

His cheeks colored, but he didn’t pull his hand out of Reims’ grasp. They didn’t often touch around others, certainly not in the middle of battle. In fact, during circumstances like this, they could go significant stretches of time without interacting at all. Normally Reims was with Rose or trying to keep everyone together, and Yvoire would hang back, often with Dering, similarly quiet as they were. With all their friends around, he never really knew where he stood with Reims.

Maybe he didn’t know at all, even when they were alone, but at their Wonders things were different. When it was just the two of them surrounded by ruin and decay, they would talk for hours and touch whenever it felt right—which was often enough that Yvoire let himself wonder if Reims might like him. Really like him, more than as a friend.

He was too shy to ask. Now certainly wasn’t the time for it.

Yvoire used the opportunity of their linked hands to grasp Reims’ and tug him back, further away from the monster, which seemed to be on its last legs anyway. He ducked when debris rained down on them, struggling not to gag again.

“Come on, rest for a bit. Everyone else can handle it. It’s weak now,” he said.

Lucien - Cat Form
HP: 33/50
Action: On Alastor’s shoulder.
Damage: N/A
Boss HP: 0

“Well done,” Lucien beamed with pride when it seemed as though Alastor’s magic finally took out that horrible toxic mess of a monster. He was trying not to breathe through his nose but it was difficult. Even he was considering soaking in some fresh water in his current form.

Anything to get the smell out.

“Although I fear I prefer this kind of Chaos over the kind we deal with on Earth,” he frowned, his tail swishing with continued agitation for their situation.

At least on these Worlds, Chaos manifested into creatures -- pure and able to be destroyed.

On Earth, there were starseeds at stake. Humans had been consumed by Chaos, in one way or another. It was not so easy to throw magic and break the Chaos away from agents as it was to creatures.

He may not have all of his memories, but he had his wit and senses as a Mauvian. He knew that everything was going to be a little different on each world, but he hoped this would end quickly, and that they would learn to handle other worlds more efficiently moving forward.

Reims, Squire of Ganymede
HP: 37/75
Action: With Yvoire, being pulled away from the monster.
Damage: N/A
Boss HP: 0

Reims breathed a sigh of relief when Yvoire said that his injury didn’t hurt. That was good, but they would still have to worry about washing any of the toxins out. Thankfully they didn’t have to worry about the disgusting monster now that it had been destroyed.

“What should we do after this?” he wondered, allowing himself to be pulled away from the monster, but keeping an eye out to make sure Yvoire didn’t trip over any debris. “I mean… you know… I guess I could just go home and shower. I don’t suppose you’ve got any fancy baths at your Wonder.”

He’d heard Ephesus talking about how one of his dads had a hot springs at his Wonder. It certainly sounded better than a creepy underground forest of red trees and a questionable stone slab.
