Stromboli, Page of UranusHP: 36/50 Action: hitting the monster as hard as he can with his food turner Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 2 DMG Boss HP: 130.5/350 He was choking, coughing, sputtering, but he was determined to have some sort of an effect. After taking a moment to get his bearings, to measure his breathing against the pollution and his hearing against the shrieking, Stromboli slapped his food turner wildly at the smoke that the monster had become. Was he having an effect at all? Who knew! But it was something, right?

Anakeion Squire of CastorHP: 61/75 Action: Attacking (physically) Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 5 Boss HP: 125.5 And, again: gross!! Ew!! ******** nasty!! Anakeion hadn't even gotten hit or even targeted by that attack and she still felt like she needed to go grab some alcohol wipes and scour her exposed skin tender and clean, especially her cleavage. If ever there had been a bad fight for cleavage-exposal this, like, might've been it?? It wasn't ranking super high on the whole scale of Fights Where You Can Be A Little Sexy As You Do It, it was more going into a very different list about Fights That Just Make You Feel ******** Nasty But Not, Like, In The Fun Way, Only In The Yuck Way. Mentally she took a second to think about referring to this thing as Pollution-tan, or Cigarette Smoke-tan, but. No. That was making light of a sensitive situation, and also it didn't really work, this thing was not displaying any ambiguously feminine traits -- okay okay Anakeion focus, ******** focus -- she'd been staring at it and zoning out for how long??
Not too long, apparently, maybe, probably. Sure. She'd take that.
And that was fine!! Because she was going to just!! Hit the thing again!! Which she was good at doing?? Apparently not, but she'd had... worse... hits... that she'd given out.
And also better ones. This one was, as they said, glancing. Not a great showing.

BOSS HP: 115.5/350Between Daedalus’s nails and Surtur’s teeth and Ymir’s magic, under the relentless assault of Rhea’s kicks, with the force of Murikabushi pulling Læraðr away, of Tortuga’s thundering Aspect of Jupiter—the monster’s tentacles whipped back, and it released those it had grabbed onto.
Somehow, the smog seemed to be melting together, solidifying--creating a creature made of the same oil-sludge as the beast on the island.
That, it seemed, was the core of all of these monsters.
It seemed to draw itself up, as if inhaling, and exhaled one more cloud of smog—but this time, it wasn’t nearly as thick.

Deep Space Eternal Sailor Daedalus HP: 71/100 Action: Physical attack, punching the monster! Damage Done: 5 x 2 = 10 Boss HP: 105.5/350Daedalus had not let himself be afraid of what might happen if the monster yanked him into its disgusting embrace—but he was glad nonetheless that Surtur stopped it from pulling him in too far. Saved both him and an unfamiliar blond Senshi—Surtur had called the name ”Ymir” along with Daedalus’s, which meant that was probably who this was.
“Thank you,” he said, but he took only a moment to grin—and even pale and unwell as he was, that expression looked as eager as he’d once been, before everything had fallen apart.
“It’s almost dead. I’m sure of it.” This time, he leapt at it on his own, swinging a fist with unhesitating certainty.
They’d made it weak. Now it was time to finish the job.

Name: Super Murikabushi of HungerHP: 61 - 2 = 59 / 75 HP. Action: Throwing first stage indirect damage magic at it. Being sassy at Læraðr in Japanese. Damage Done: (10 + 1d4 [1]) x 2 = 22 damage. Boss HP: 83.5 / 350. Jesus Christ, I am *NOT* your “bro.” Literally, ******** must you, Murikabushi thought at the Neptune Squire, but didn’t allow himself to say.
Much as he really wanted to assert his boundaries about not being any kind of “bro” until he got a proper apology. There wasn’t any point in being that specific flavor of b***h. Not right now, when the smog monster was getting weaker and everybody needed to chip in to take it down.
So for now, Murikabushi limited himself to telling the Neptune Squire, “O-yakunitatete yokatta oru.”
Literally, “Glad I could help” or “Glad to have been of use to you.” But whether the Neptune Squire knew it or not, Murikabushi had used kenjogo—the extra-humble flavor of keigo—to communicate that they didn’t know each other like that, in the way where the ponytailed Prince Eric wannabe over here had any right to call Murikabushi “bro” or even “sis,” which Muri would have preferred more personally. He’d even swapped out the perfectly polite and in all ways acceptable desu for the humble conjugation of a different verb that meant “to be.”
Maybe the subtlety would be lost on this guy. Murikabushi didn’t know if he spoke Japanese or not. But it mattered for Muri’s own peace of mind that he used his fancy language to both emphasize how the Neptune Squire’s acceptance of others seemed based on their utility to him personally, and humble himself by way of saying “William, it was really nothing” and “You have no class and no manners.”
More importantly, the smog monster seemed to know that it was on its last legs. Judging by the cloud of smoke that it sent out toward everyone again, it had hit the ropes and didn’t want to let anybody know. But much like a teenager trying to make themself seem tough and confident by picking on others, the smog cloud only made the overall monster look weaker and more pathetic. Muri didn’t even cough as much as he had from the creature’s previous attacks.
They needed to conserve their magic, and Murikabushi knew that……but they also needed to take this guy out already so they could get to whatever was waiting on the center island. Reaching out toward the monster, Muri tugged down on an invisible string to summon his first-level magic. Whatever he could offer to help take it down.Quote: Sailor Scout Attack: Gnawing Hunger. Enemies within 10 feet of him begin to feel a powerful hunger or sense of craving, one they feel cannot be sated, and yet, they are compelled to try. This craving can be for anything—food, drink, affection/intimacy, alcohol or narcotics, the answers to the math homework, etc.—but it is quite distracting. This spell lasts for 25 seconds, and Murikabushi can use it three times per battle.Basic Magic Remaining Casts: 2. Super Magic Remaining Casts: 1.

Stromboli, Page of UranusHP: 34/50 Action: hitting the monster as hard as he can with his food turner again Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 4 x 2 = 8 Boss HP: 75.5/350 When the monster exhaled more smoke and smog onto the field, Stromboli reached hastily for his scarf to cover his face. That didn't completely prevent him from coughing, however, and it was a moment again before he could get his bearings to attack. But, attack he did. The fact that he had a more solid target helped his aim, at the very least. And surely the fact that he could actually feel himself hitting it would count for something--

Tortuga of JupiterHP: 48-2= 46HPAction: Direct Magic Damage - Zapping with Electric Ring again Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 7 damage x 2 = 34 Boss HP: 41.5/350 Tortuga was dropped with a bit more force then he was expecting but other then that he wasn't much worse for the wear. Instead he did what was the only smart thing to do, at least for him, he once again slapped his hand down against the ground and sent wave after wave of minor shocks into the smog. It worked before it should work again! The squire was glad that this little ring wasn't something that was connected to his magic pool since he could feel the strain and tiredness he attributed to using the aspect pull at him. It urged him to stop fighting. Whispered sweet nothings about naps and sleeps and blissful oblivion. As much as the redhead wanted to heed those words he also remembered he had an obligation. One he couldn't break. One to family, one to friends, one to himself. He wanted to stop. He wanted to lie down and just sleep. He really did want to but he didn't. Tortuga did what he always did when the darkness started to encroach and he had work to do, he focused on nothing but the work at hand. If you didn't waver in your thoughts there wasn't room for the shadows.

Character Name and journal link Viminal Page of VenusHP: 34/50 Action: Trying to hit boss with her weapon Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 4 × 2 = 8 Boss HP: 0 This was weird, no different really than fighting a youma, but much more powerful for sure and much more gross. The monster spewed out smog at them and Viminal coughed, the foul substance filling her lungs and making it even hard to be brief. Ugh, could this night, this situation get any worse? She had weapon in hand and she was still close to the damn thing, likely why she was choking on the damn smog. She gripped her weapon tightly in her hand and rushed forward to hit the monster, ducking to avoid a rock, then swinging like would with a bat to hit the monster. Her mirror connected and she tucked and rolled out of the way landing on her knees and feeling slightly dazed.

Anakeion Squire of CastorHP: 59/75 Action: Just chillin' Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A Boss HP: 0 Okay, she'd been going to hit the thing, but with a bunch of people all piling on at once it looked like it was having the worst day of its short(??) life. Anakeion had a big fondness for not getting accidentally hit by other people's attacks, and honestly she figured most people probably did, so she was just going to... stand back, at a safe distance, and resist the urge to clap, because it absolutely was going to come off as sarcastic, and, haha, that wasn't what she'd be meaning with it. Would mean? Was meaning? Future present tense for an action she wasn't taking in the first place, anyway, so it was irrelevant.
It didn't mean Anakeion didn't still take some time to cough violently, and jeez ******** louise her ribcage was gonna hurt like a b***h the rest of today, but the fabric she'd gotten from the purple knight seemed like it was helping with filtering the worst of the smog out.

Character Name and journal link Squire Irkalla HP: 61 - 2 = 59hp Action: Standing around Damage/Healing/Buff Done: ... Boss HP: --
The creature was finished off. Irkalla looked around at the group that she had been assigned to before looking at her cord of ornaments. Her mind was busy cataloguing the battle before she looked to the out towards the lake. If this bridge guardian was just one piece of the chaos, Irkalla had a feeling that she was going to somehow push herself to some other level of fighting. The fact that some of her group had taken heavy damage while she had been spared made the squire of Cosmos feel like she was letting everyone else down. How could she improve herself to feel more worthy of being assigned to a group if she did not believe in her abilities?
It wasn't a happy thought but she needed to do more if she was to pull her weight in this mission.

Super Sailor YmirHP: 46/75 Action: Hanging back. Damage Done: N/A Boss HP: 0 Though a part of Ymir was relieved to have been released, he didn’t show it. Then again, neither his demeanor nor his expression tended to change much regardless of the circumstances. He steadied himself against Surtur and made no further effort to attack the creature, merely watched Daedalus and others move in for the kill.
The creature was faltering. Ymir figured he may as well conserve his strength while he had the chance.
“Did you have to bite it?” Ymir asked Surtur, showing his disgust with a small frown and a subtle arch of one brow. “What good did you think that would do? What if it infects you?”
Despite Ymir’s criticisms, the move seemed to have been mildly successful. After all, both he and Daedalus had been released.
Ymir didn’t say it, but he suspected Surtur might have consumed worse over the last several centuries anyway. A dying world didn't exactly offer the delicacies they’d both once been accustomed to.

Super Sailor SurturHP: 59/75 Action: Checking on Daedalus and Ymir. Damage: N/A Boss HP: 0 Naturally, he’d immediately spat out whatever was lingering in his mouth. He could taste the toxicity on his tongue, and it stung like poison. It was irrelevant though. Without any sharp objects to use as a weapon, his teeth were the best option.
There was only momentary relief when Daedalus was freed, and Surtur lifted his hand to briefly touch his forehead in a quick salute of acknowledgement.
Before turning his attention, and narrowed serpentine-like eyes, at Ymir.
“You can scold me when you make more effort to save yourself from harm,” he frowned, his other hand still holding onto Ymir’s arm as he made sure he remained out of any surprise attacks from whatever Chaos was lingering.
“Are you injured? It’s not over yet,” he warned, turning his head to spit once more.
“Daedalus, how fare you? We must hurry before it can reform,” he called to his old friend as he looked across their battlefield, for lack of a better descriptor, noting how it seemed as though the other groups managed to take down their manifestations as well.

Character Name and journal link: Eternal Caliban of SealingHP: 84/100 Action: Recovering from attack and moving Damage/Healing/Buff Done: None, ignore the roll Caliban couldn't brace himself for the next attack, but he was lucky in that it seemed to barely do anything. Barely in this context being compared to what he had gone through before. It might effect him later however, not something that he wanted to deal with. As he watched the monster wither away he looked at Daedalus for their next move. Which was most likely literally moving. He started to make his way back with the rest of the group

BOSS HP: -6.5/350The creatures were clearly weakened by the relentless assaults, made smaller and weaker. Each hit seemed to tear pieces off of them, and while they reformed, the reformation was slower and slower each time.
They were losing. Faltering.
Finally, with all but one defeated, all four withdrew back to the central island, clearing the way forward.Quote: Congratulations, the smaller bosses have been defeated! Proceed to the final boss....
