Solo: Curiosities Illyria traced the outline again of the piece of strange metal that she had pocketed from Ida's home world. The unused material that had stood untouched had been a big draw for the Mauvian. Technology was supposed to be the whole shtick of the Mauvian gig and yet Illyria was having trouble decoding just what function was needed by the fragment she had eventually snagged. Was she already failing those that came before her because she couldn't seem to unlock whatever potential was hidden away from her? No ... maybe it just was not the right time to have the technological secrets revealed. Yes, that had to be it. It for some reason rankled her pride as a technologically inclined race to have something stymie her. Even staring at the device while in either form drew no concrete solutions to what the piece of metal might have done in the past. Blinking violet orbs Illyria sighed before shifting back into the form she was most comfortable in and began to gently bat the piece of metal back and forth between her two front paws. Why was it so hard to get a read on what this unknown object was meant to be for?
Flopping onto her side Illyria stared hard at her foe before giving the softest of meows before causing the foreign object to blink out of existence and back into her subspace pocket. There would be other times that she could use to study the object closer but for now it seemed as if her time for the evening would be better well spent being with friends rather than working out the conundrums of the universe. The piece of tech would stay out of sight for the time until she had another moment to herself to try and hear the whispers that would make it easier to unlock whatever untapped potential the material held.
Rising to all four paws did Illyria silently set off in the direction of the apartment that Orah resided in. She hoped to be able to join with her friend on any potential patrolling. Even just thinking of the woman caused Illyria's paw steps to become lighter. There was something stirring inside of her that would definitely be considered deep, deep affection. One could go even as far to say that she cared fiercely about the Orchid senshi. Loved even? Nothing mattered more to the Mauvian than knowing that Ida was safe. Like a mother hen protecting her chicks ... Illyria needed to know that Ida was physically all right.
And yet, she did not want to smother her friend with the way she was feeling. It was one reason that she continued to only visit occasionally but there was something there: unseen ... changing, but for the better. It almost was like the metal fragment she had been studying. There was importance to be learned from it but only time and patience would yield results. One could not rush progress no matter how hard one wished for that progress to be delivered on a silver platter: as soon as possible.(wc: 514)

Solo: Unlocked For a few simple moments Illyria merely looked perplexed. How was it that she could fathom no secrets from the piece of junk material that she had taken from Ida's asteroid and yet have worked with human fingers to gently coax a perplexing shape out of it?
It had started not long after she'd all but given up on trying to figure out what the metal's true purpose was. Instead the Mauvian had taken it into mind to perhaps fashion something out of the material instead. Ida had said that she was welcome to do what she pleased with the junk material and so Illyria had done just that. Taking the time to craft something wasn't going to be easy but if anyone was up for the challenge, then she was. Working with paws wasn't going to cut it and with segments of time planned out in advance did the Mauvian make use of her civilian glamour tool that now seemed to allow her more time as a bipedal member of society than a cat. She had tested it on the outskirts of Destiny City to be one hundred percent certain and was pleased with the results.
After that fateful test did Illyria began to plan out just what she wanted to create and how she was to go about doing so. Eventually she decided on a simple pendant that she would thread onto her ribbon. It would be representative of where she obtained the material and she hoped that Ida would appreciate what she decided to do with a piece of her world. Finding a place to work and use tools freely did Illyria struggle for a while until she learned of makerspaces. Upon learning of these crafting centers did the young Mauvian make the conscientious decision to enrol in one that offered drop-in sessions that were available to all. While it was definitely easier to work amongst the tools that one needed, Illyria always had to make sure she was leaving before the sessions were over. Truly, it was a pain. But the end result would be worth it ... at least she hoped it would be.
In one of her first sessions: after learning of the various crafting areas and tools available did she sit down and begin the process of flattening the material into a more circular design. It was not the easiest of tasks and often Illyria wished she could pocket the tool that she was using just until the job was done. What did make it a little easier was learning just where the tool was located exactly for the next time. It took about four sessions before Illyria was satisfied enough to start on the next step of her project. After finding a place that sold material to those interested in making their own jewellery and buying paints and other supplies did Illyria take a gamble and begin to work with fusing what was called a "jump ring" to her flattened metallic circle. Even though most of the work was manually done did she realize that it wasn't enough to fully secure the two pieces together. Finding a place that repaired jewellery was the simplest solution to her dilemma and once the pieces were fused together did Illyria finally get to work on painting the design she wished to see.
Having dug up various images of orchids from the web did the Mauvian use her last drop in session to work on painting a multi-hued image of an orchid on her pendant with the special paints that she had bought for this purpose. Once dried Illyria would treat the pendant with a clear lacquer that would hopefully preserve the image inside without too much smearing of the paint. It wasn't one hundred percent perfect but it had been a labour of love and even as Illyria left her paints behind for others to use after she was gone did she walk about with a lightened step.
From a piece of junk material to a pendant that was befitting the asteroid belonging to the senshi of orchids ... did Illyria undo the ribbon from around her neck and thread her newest prize onto it before firmly retying the ribbon around her neck. Now she had a piece of Ida with her wherever she went and she couldn't be more pleased with the result.
But something still remained unknown to the young cat ... and that was what she worried about even as she trotted down a familiar path that would take her to visit Orah. What would her friend think of the effort that she had taken to make something out of what had almost certainly been nothing to start with? Would it be viewed with approval? Or something else?
Only time would tell... (wc: 788 )

Solo: Mysteries There would have been a time when Illyria would have been surprised by how things seemed to happen around Destiny City to those even who were in the know about the happenings that occurred regularly. From being whisked away by shadows that were a little too touchy-feely, to being space-napped by robots with non benign intentions ... anything and everything could happen. One always had to be on their toes. It was good to know that Illyria now had a sense of security to hold onto. That was definitely something that she had been missing before meeting Ida. What would have happened had she not crossed paths with the Senshi of Orchids? Would she still be in this position of finally feeling like she belonged? She felt as if she was finally content knowing who she was.
Of course Illyria knew that she would never replace Orah's pet cat Lola. But just the same the feline knew that she held a special place in Orah's heart beside Lola. How else could she explain the connection between them? There was a strong thread that tied them together. Illyria at first had thought that she was imagining it but after they'd come back from Ida's home world but it seemed as if there was definitely something at work happening unseen between herself and Ida. Even when they weren't together Illyria swore she could feel it when Orah powered up to patrol - but how was that even possible? Was this another aspect of being a Mauvian that she didn't quite understand? For now it was another mystery that would have to remain unsolved. There were more pressing matters to attend to. For starters: how in the world had she found herself on Ida? Without Ida by her side?
Her pendant had turned out extraordinary. It had fastened well to her ribbon and sat in place no matter how much she seemed to twist and turn. Illyria had been visiting one of her caches when the pendant tried to fall off for the first time. Was it a sign that maybe she was in the wrong place at the wrong time? Illyria had grasped tightly at the pendant praying it would stay on her ribbon before finding the world dissolve away. The sensation had been similar to one that she had experienced before so instead of being startled Illyria merely went with the flow.
The shock came though when the rolling fields of Ida appeared before her. Concentrating for a moment Illyria brought about her humanoid form. Looking around the Mauvian was perplexed, "Ida?"
Where was the Orchid senshi? How was it that she found herself on Ida's home world without Ida present? What had she been doing before finding herself here, alone? Grasping at the pendant did Illyria stare at it with a contemplative look. Was it the pendant that she had lovingly crafted that had brought her here? Would answers be divulged or would she need to ferret them out herself? For now though Illyria felt the tall grass underneath her feet and moved towards the giant grove of towering trees before pausing. This discovery would need to shared with Ida but Illyria had a feeling that the Orchid senshi would be okay with the news that she would share.
Finding the familiar route that she and Ida had once traversed together did Illyria find herself sitting on the hammock alongside Ida's personal garden. Allowing the hammock to swing back and forth gently did Illyria breathe in the sweet Idan air before sniffing softly. Questions raced through her mind but at the moment was it wrong if she just relaxed to enjoy the moment? Lying back in the netted material did Illyria stare up at the sky above her. Stilling the thoughts that bounded around in her head did Illyria come to the realization that maybe this indicated that the imaginings that her and Ida's bond was truly stronger than she had come to understand. Surely if the pendant had the ability to bring her here then undoubtedly it would be able to take her back to Earth. For now would it be wrong to remain here for a little while?
While she was content with this new development she knew that Ida would want to know about this newly added twist to their continuing story.

Solo: Observations There was nothing but the barest whisper of bare feet against the tender young shoots of grass that dotted the clearing in the park in which Illyria found herself in. She had shed her feline form as she had been able to determine an important factor in doing so: presently the place was totally deserted, which was normal, given that it was currently sometime between midnight and dawn. There were no other powered signatures in the immediate vicinity so there was little danger of being stumbled upon while she was like this, unless someone came to rain on her parade. Being here now though, amid the unoccupied space, had the unintended result of bringing just a little bit of relief to her troubled mind. The cat turned humanoid wandered to and fro as she muttered to herself before sighing. This was accomplishing nothing. Orah was still hale and healthy so there shouldn't have been anything to worry about. There appeared to be times when her bonded partner seemed stressed but that could have been from just the work that was required of her while she was Orah. One who had the profession of being a nurse would require a lot of mental fortitude and Illyria was sure that even the most ordinary of humans would breakdown from time to time. Add in the fact that Orah also was a senshi and perhaps that breakdown could manifest much, much sooner.
But in the back of Illyria's mind something seemed just a little bit off. The fact that she had not been able to pin it down yet bothered her immensely. The sensation that she was experiencing wasn't just the normal intuition that cats seemed to experience when the people they adopted were upset or stressed out. This feeling seemed to be something more: a current of unease that ran deep inside. The more that the young Mauvian tried to understand the sensation though made it nigh impossible to do so. For the moment that she really tried to trace what it was that was making her feel uneasy the sensation would simply disappear. Did it mean that she was not meant to know what was behind the unease? Illyria did not appreciate not knowing what it was that she was experiencing.
For now though the young Mauvian continued her night time stroll as she ghosted among the various trees that she now found herself amongst. The simple pleasure of being able to revel in her human form without any interference was a blessing in disguise. It was unwise to be in this form for any given length of time while on Earth but there were times that one needed to feel the blades of grass underneath their toes and run their fingers against the plants that were beginning to awaken from their winter sleep. Eventually she'd return to cat form and sneak back into Orah's apartment in order to watch over her senshi like a dutiful guardian should. But there were also moments in time that one needed to find for themselves being able to relax and release what stress they harboured as well. If a night-time stroll amongst greenery helped to ease what unease the Mauvian was feeling then she had every right to partake in the action that would constitute enough to effect a temporary cure.
