Kristen had never really liked her older sister.
That might sound really cruel and she certainly would not say it out loud; but it was the truth. Growing up her and Sarah were as different as night and day; the two never played together, never shared the same hobbies and for the most part stayed clear out of each others way. They always had their own rooms, their own friends and their own sense of style and purpose. Her mother had always told her that with twins it went one of two ways; you are either extremely close like her younger brothers were or you pushed each other away like Kristen and Sarah had. Some people might say it is sad but in all honesty Kristen did her best not to think about it, I mean it was not like Sarah was ever around, so putting it out of her mind had become almost second nature.
Sarah had gone on to study abroad to become a doctor and only returned to Destiny City a few times a year, when she did her parents always made a really big deal out of it.
Sarah was the apple of their eye. She was the patron on several charities and attended high profile fundraisers with people of note. She was also smart, a lot smarter than Kristen could even aspire to be. Sarah was perfect and in that Kristen found her frustration. It was not like the redhead had achieved nothing in her life; but her achievements always seemed to fall short of her sisters. She was, and always would be, forever in her shadow.
Jealousy was not an emotion Kristen felt easily, nor was it one she handled very well, however when it came to Sarah she became somewhat of a green eyed monster. No matter how much fan mail she received, no matter how many followers she had or how many people expressed their love for her. It would never be enough; she would never compare to her - she would never even come close. Sarah had a good heart and Kristen was shallow; that is what people said, that is what they thought.
The news that she would be coming back from Easter Break rang through the house one Monday morning and by that afternoon invitations were already been sent around; this weekend the upper class of Destiny City would flood the estate, instead of the usual high school rabble that Kristen herself invited most weekends. It would mean she would have to cancel her usual stream and show her face. Even the thought if shopping for an outfit did nothing to lift her mood. You knew it was bad when Kristen did not want to shop and get dressed up!
Her mother was dancing around the kitchen with a large grin on her face. It was annoying, Sarah might be a saint in the eyes of her family; however she did not risk her life every night fighting against the forced of chaos or evil.
Sarah was not a magical girl.
It wasn't fair.
