She needed answers.
The senshi of the Sesshoseki knew that she not going to be able to move on until she got them.
Questions had been playing out in her head for days, keeping her awake at night; then when she could sleep she was riddled with nightmares. She knew she had to confront him, get some closure and today was the day that the fear of the unknown outweighed the fear of pain.
Everything just felt so wrong. Her whole view on everything had suddenly warped around her; turning the confident woman into a bundle of anxiety. She just couldn't take it.
So she powered up and went back to the scene of the crime so to speak. Standing in the same spot she had done when he grabbed her; it sent a shiver down her spine - but she did not run away.
Instead she clenched her fists and looked ahead determined; her voice piercing through the night as she demanded his attention.
"Richterite!"

There was no way for the Senshi of the Sesshoseki to know just how close he had been to the area when she shouted his name into the silent chill of the night. His aura had been on the move along the outskirts of the area when she had arrived on scene. There was no reason for him to have returned to the place where is problems had started. No. That wasn't right. His problems hadn't started there, it was simply where they had come to light. He watched her from the rooftops for a moment before dropping down into the alley where he had drained the civilian man. He adjusted the lapels of his coat before stepping out of the darkness, itching to call one of his cards to his hand. He didn't, not wanting to give her an excuse to start off with an attack. "Shouting on a night like this is bound to bring all sorts of trouble. Are you certain you want to do that?"

She could feel the sarcasm bubble in her mouth like bile; she was so close to insulting him - however she bit back the temptation. The usually aloof senshi was not in the mood for jokes or banter, she was here for business.
She did not know what she would feel on seeing him again; if she would be scared, if she would turn tale and run. Surprisingly she was neither, more than anything it was anger that bubbled in her stomach.
An anger that made her feel sick.
"I am not here to start trouble."
She stated, loosening her fists so she would not be attempted to throw her attack his way; she folded her arms to almost reaffirm it with herself. She was not here to fight, even though she wanted to. "I am here to find out what you did to me."
She stepped towards him, even though her eyes were blue they burned none the less. "What you were going to do to me, a*****e."

"If you're not here to start trouble than keep your voice down or you're likely to bring it on both of us," he snapped, blue eyes narrowing as he fixed his gaze on her. It was good that she was angry; that she had regained her strength. If she stayed angry she might have more of a chance if he had to fight her again. He listened to her questions, crossing his own arms over his chest while leaning back against the building he had rounded the corner of once more. He was more alert than he usually was despite his 'relaxed' stance, waiting to teleport away at the faintest trace of another Chaos aligned aura coming there way. He wasn't about to let himself get caught again, especially not with the same senshi. Normally he would have shot 'What do you think I was going to do?' right back at her, but sass would get him nowhere that he wanted to be, so he stuck with honesty. "I was going to yank your starseed."

"You where going to do what!"
Totally unaware of the events that had occurred after she had run off last time; Zhou Yi saw no reason to keep her voice down. Instead she threw her hands by her side and stomped her foot in protest like a child having a tantrum.
She had no idea what a starseed was; and was no closer to knowing what had happened. All she knew was the way he said it so casually did nothing to lift her mood.
Maybe this was a mistake; maybe she was going to get nowhere with him. He did try to kill her afterall, erase her from existence, in his own words. Though despite whatever he was going to do; he did not go through with it - and that was the reason why she was here.
Oh remembering that she sighed, let her muscles relax and went on to talk to him with a calmer tone. Her fierce eyes softening into something very close to a plea, she needed to know.
"Why didn't you?"

He was seconds away from leaving her standing there without any answers at all and would have had her demeanor not shifted almost trastically after her small tantrum. "I was going to take the thing that makes you who you are. Without it your body would have died. You would have died. I--" Why didn't you? He closed his eyes for a moment, senses still open just to make sure that they were still alone. "I couldn't." It was a weakness. It was something that he was fighting. It was a problem he had to get past. "Someone said something to me one night and it stuck. I couldn't do it."

"You just couldn't?"
It was not like she was complaning; but that still was not an answer to her question - at this point he was being purposely vague. She rolled her eyes and made a 'tch' sound with her mouth.
She was not going to ask him about what was said, she was too busy digesting the information he had given her.
This was so strange; she had some kind of other organ inside of her that she did not know about? The idea was alien, hard to accept.
"I really do not understand you guys; where do you even come from? Where do you get off thinking you can hurt civilians, go prodding around in peoples insides?" Her arms here animated, flapping around as she talked, giving jest to the world around them.
"Aren't you a human, too?"

"Most people don't question why someone couldn't take their life." His attempt at a smirk only made it as far as pressing his lips a bit more firmly together, arms remaining crossed. He uncrossed them a moment later, however, fingers brushing back through his hair as he sighed. "I grew up in Destiny City. I went to school here. I've lived in this stupid town my entire life. I --," he groaned, shaking his head. He didn't have to explain himself to her. He didn't owe her anything. He answered anyways, "I can't answer for anyone else. I prefer not to harm civilians. Just because we need energy doesn't mean they have to be collateral damage. You don't have to reach into someone's insides to drain their energy. I've also never taken a starseed before." She would have been his first; a medal to claim all in its own, and he had botched it.

"I am not questioning why I am still alive; I am quite glad of it. What I do not understand is why you could not go through with it."
Zhou Yi had always imagined the Negaverse as monsters, it made it easier for her to fight them, easier to watch them fall. It was true that the senshi of the sesshoseki had never made a serious attempt on anyone's life; despite the injuries she had suffered at the hands of chaos.
She had slowly come to terms with the fact that was most likely going to change; however the realisation that they were people had made her question everything she had done so far. She was not used to that, she was always so sure. "It does not sit well with me - I saw something very eerily human in you that day."
She clenched her fists and held them tightly by her side. "It has never been my intention to hurt anybody; but at the same time I can not stand by whilst harm comes to people who can not fight back. I do not care about this conflict, I do not care about this greater meaning that everyone is banging on about or some million year old grievance - I just can not bare the thought of it being someone in my class next, someone in my family, somebody that I care about." Was she willing to do it? Become a monster like them in order to protect people? Was she strong enough to throw that bit of her humanity away?
"Why do you even need it? Tell me, tell me what a humans life force is worth?"

Richterite laughed, the sound a bit more bitter and strained than he had intended it to be. The laughter made his sides ache. Thinking about everything made his head spin. "I couldn't go through with it because it wasn't right. It would have been more just to take the starseed from the worthless piece of garbage you were trying to protect than it would have been to take yours." A senshi's starseed was just worth more. "It might be someone in your class, or someone in your family. The Captain who brought me to meet the General King that accepted me into the Negaverse was one of my classmates; someone that I had known for years through a mutual friend. The only way to avoid knowing someone who has been touched by all of this is to either give up or ignore that it's happening." He snorted, running his fingers through his hair again, this time more as a nervous gesture as he glanced around. "We are human. This is our home."

"No human live if garbage, not even yours jerk!" Her hands shook with frustration, how could someone say that so casually? How could someone take such an unsympathetic view on the people who had raised him, the city that had moulded him? These agents, they might have been human, but their humanity was questionable.
She shook her head at his response; she could feel a change in his mannerisms, in his demeanour, but that only served to spur her forward. It was like there was a shift in the power dynamic, one that she took advantage of. "This is not your home; it stopped being your home when you started hurting the people who inhabit it. I do not care how you got involved in this; you can not blame anyone else for your continued part in it" She was closer now, in arms reach, invading his space.
"I do not know if it is too late for you. But stop this now, whilst there is still coming back from it." She stated with a small sigh, placing her hands on her hips. "Before you do something that can not be undone!" Before you became completely unredeemable.
Yi stepped back a little; there was no need for her to stay. She had said what she had to and in a strange way gotten some closure, besides, the Captain seemed to have a lot to think about.

"There are plenty of human beings who are garbage]," he spat back, knowing well enough that his father was one of those people. Anyone who would leave their son in Hillworth as a means to avoid proper parenting and discipline was. "Always with the name calling. It must be a senshi defense mechanism. Sometimes I wonder if any of you know how to have a proper conversation without it." His arms crossed over his chest again, eyes narrowing in her direction. "Sometimes protecting something requires a sacrifice. You can't save everyone. You can't justify everything... Maybe it's already too late."

"Really? You tried to rip out my starseed and you are calling me rude?" She rolled her eyes; sure she was insulting him but was it any wonder? She was angry. Not only had he hurt her but he was spewing bile along with his words. His view disgusted her, she was angry about it.
Angry that he actually believed in what he was saying; when it all seemed so wrong to her. Sure she might have been naive, but she would prefer that to the alternative.
Giving up on someone because it was difficult, turning the other way because it was dangerous. It was not her way, it was not the Senshi way. "No, you can't save everyone; but you have to at least try!" She stated, her words were unwavering.
"You do not get to make that call, you do not get to decide what is to be sacrificed. Unless it is your own life - you do not get a say. What right do you have to make those choices? Under what authority." She stomped her foot once more. She shook her head, she was getting nowhere with him, her words could not reach him.
Maybe it was too late.
"Goodbye Captain; next time I will not just be here to talk."

He had come out to clear his head one last time before throwing himself into the abyss, not to have someone try to question his convictions. Had he been that passionate once? Had he ever been that passionate about anything? Yes. Maybe at one time, but how long ago had it been... "Some people aren't worth saving." He left her on that final note, teleporting away from the scene before the feeling of obligation and duty could overtake him. He would have blood on his hands soon enough. Let it be a truce for one more night.
