After the Duel
It had been a rather exciting battle of you asked Rishima, one that he wouldn't soon forget. How often after all did one get into a battle that ended in both sides laying flat on their back after all? It had been so exciting and while it was a touch sad that there wasn't a winner to the battle it really didn't bother him all that much. Not when he'd had so much fun during the battle and he felt he'd learned a lot from it as well. He had been dodging in such an amazing fashion, as though he were one with the wind, and it was something that he wanted nothing more then to tell Jerarda all about. Every single detail... save for maybe the name of the one that he had been sparring with. The last thing that he wanted was to start an incident between the two tribes because he'd gone out having a friendly spar with someone that was supposed to be an enemy to their people. He'd talked to Yansa about his curiosity when it came to the Shifters but he'd assured her that in his heart he was Alkidike. It was a claim that remained true to this day but it didn't mean that a part of him didn't want for peace between the two tribes. Surely working together would better then always facing off against each other in aggressive manner, right? Given what Rishima was he felt that he was proof that the two tribes could coexist. If his father was still around he felt that the man would be yet more proof of such a thing. A shame that he was still missing he thought to himself, giving a soft sigh.
It was a thought that he shoved aside though, not wanting to dwell on that. He was till following leads when he was able to find them and he felt that one day he would figure out what had happened to the man. For the moment though he had other things that he had to focus on, important ones, such as resting up with his Shifter friend in their camp high up in the trees, from there he and Itzal would be going to meet with with Jerarda, and the three of them would be headed North to commune with the Mother Tree, Aisha. It was something that he had been looking forward to for some time and at long last all preparations for the journey were complete. All that stood between him and that journey now was sleeping through the night and then going to find Jerarda. It was exciting enough that he could almost feared his heart would thud its way out of his chest it was beating so hard.
"I think we can stop here for the night." Came the voice of Chalcedony, pulling him out of his deep thoughts and just in time to as he'd almost walked right into the other man he was so deep in thought. Given how exhausted the two of them were it probably couldn't have been the best ideas since they would likely have both tumbled from the tree and fallen down to the ground far, far below. Not a thing that they would just bounce back from. Rishima watched as Chal went to sit down with his back against the massive trunk of the tree and he moved to sit down along side him. He looked over at his temporary companion and then around them, feeling a bit as though he were cheating on Jerarda or something. He was just friends with Chalcedony at best where as Jerarda was his sister and the one that he wanted to emulate, still he couldn't help but to feel such a thing. Likely because he knew that he really shouldn't be hanging out for extended periods of time with a Shifter even if it was for his own good.
Giving a bit of a smile Chalcedony set to work digging to the pack that he was carrying with him, taking out a few pieces of the bright red fruit that grew high in the branches of the trees of Jauhar, "Here you go, this will suffice for dinner tonight. It's more filling them it might seem, especially if you eat the seeds too. They can be a bit bitter if you bite them so I suggest swallowing them along with some of the fruit." Chal said, starring down at the piece of fruit that he was holding for a moment before he shook his head and took a bite. Now was not the time to think about the one that had introduced him to these fruits he told himself, working on breaking himself of the habit of thinking for too long about 'him'. He wanted to get on with his life which meant not spending his every waking hour thinking about someone that he had lost a long time ago due to his own foolishness and weak will. It was something that he wouldn't do again that was for sure. He didn't want to lose anyone else, even if that meant making friends with someone like Rishima behind the backs of their respective tribes he thought to himself idly.
"You don't have to pick at it or skin it, you can eat all of it but the stem." He added when it looked as though Rishima was inspecting the fruit and trying to figure out how to go about skinning it to get to the fruit and the seeds that Chalcedony had told him about. The Shifter gave a smile, deciding to but 'him' out of his mind for now so that he could instead focus on his friend... or at least a person that he wanted to make friends with that was. He just wasn't quite sure how to broach such a subject and as such the two of them ended up sitting in silence, eating the food that Chalcedony had passed out to the two of them.
Rishima set to digging into the piece of red fruit, taking big bites of it, rather enjoying how sweet it was, before he looked forward to where Itzal was, curled up on the branch in front of them, watching the pair of them as they ate. He gave a little wave to the beast before tearing a piece of the fruit off with his teeth, tossing it over to the Radaku who snapped it out of the air, chewed it up, and swallowed before returning to merely watching. Giving a chuckle Rishima looked over at Chalcedony, "He can be a bit over protective but I think that he somewhat likes you." It was definite like but he seemed to be tolerating Chal more then he did most strangers that came about Rishima that weren't of the Alkidike tribe. At least he wasn't hassling the Shifter though given that Chalcedony was too tired to fend him off and Rishima was too tired to really help him out when it came to chasing the beast off if he wanted to start trouble. As it appeared at the moment though Itzal was behaving himself, not growling or snarling, not trying to pick a fight, he was just starring.
Chalcedony gave the Radaku a glance before he nodded, "Glad that he tolerates me at least. I would rather not get on his bad side." He said with a bit of a chuckle. With that he returned to his meal, working on finishing it off. Once he was done he tossed the bits that were inedible over the side of the branch, knowing that wherever it landed it would either feed the tree itself or it would feed the various creatures that lived in the tree since they seemed to be a lot less picky when it came to what they did and didn't eat. From there he turned back to looking over at Rishima once more, "I really do need to thank you for that duel. I have been trying to get them where I can find them and I think that it's helping me as far as getting better and better at defending myself which means I will be better at defending others." He said, though he supposed that he didn't exactly have a charge at the moment, did he? No matter, he would just have to go from tending to one person and keeping him safe to tending to the whole of his tribe instead. It was a silly and somewhat childish dream to want to play bodyguard forever anyway. He'd seen the magic that 'he' could use after all and knew full well that 'he' would be fine without him, especially given there was that archer in the picture.
"I want to get stronger and stronger, so I can better serve my tribesmen. I am sure that you know how that feels though, huh?" He said, as he looked over at the spear that Itzal was currently carrying for Rishima. He knew full well that the spear meant the same thing to Rishima that the shield did for Chalcedony. It was a sign of the rank that he had among the Alkidike, it meant that he was strong, and that they respected him. The weapon that Chalcedony had was one that was meant to defend those that he kept behind it and it made a good weapon as well when the need arose, it was a versatile tool that he meant to master the use of one day so that he could keep others safe from the various pains that the world would throw at them.
Rishima looked over toward the spear, knowing that it was what held Chal's attention at the moment before he gave a smile, "I want to get stronger, yes. I want to be able to prove myself to my tribe, and to be able to become someone important to my many sisters even though I am quite different from all of them." He said, not only was he smaller and his coloring different but he was also male, not something that happened with the full blooded Alkidike. It was a trying thing to start with but he really did feel as though he were making headway and one he really did think that he was going to become someone that they all trusted and loved. He wanted that more then anything, for them to look upon him in a kind manner instead of a suspicious one. The sooner that he could do that the better and he really felt that the trip to visit with Aisha would aid him in that goal.
Giving a smile he said, "I will be heading out in the morning to meet up with my most precious sister and we will be going on a journey that I hope will help me to finally reach my goal." He said, unable to hide his excitement over the fact that it was nearing time to go to visit Aisha, not that he would say that out loud. He liked Chalcedony well enough but there were things that he couldn't reveal to him even though he was like a friend to him. He had things that had to remain secret, especially from a Shifter, but it didn't mean that he couldn't at least speak of his journey and how happy he was over the fact that it was near at hand. All he had to do was make sure that he didn't reveal any details about where he was going, what he was going to do, and the fact that he was going to be communing with the Mother Tree. Not that he thought that the existence of the Mother Tree was something that many, if any, Shifters knew about. Aisha was too important to risk by spreading too many rumors about her after all he thought to himself, antennae twitching.
"I wish you luck on your journey, Rishima. I hope that you make it to where you are going swiftly and safely." Chalcedony said, rather envying that he had a goal in mind. Perhaps that was what he was missing? Sure, it was one thing to say that he wanted to protect his people but was he really striving forward toward that? He was practicing, sure, but nothing like going on a journey to find himself in the manner that Rishima was. Maybe that was what he needed to do? The best one to speak to about it would be his father. The man had been kind enough to allow him along on a patrol a while back after his run in with Keilana, maybe he would also know where it was that he should go next to better serve his tribe and to better hone his skills so that he could keep his loved ones safe? He would need to see about speaking with him in the morning, "I think I should do something similar, I will need to speak with my father, to gain his advice on the matter after we split up in the morning. I know what I want to do when it comes to my tribe I don't quite have a path laid out before me in the manner that you do."
Leaning back against the tree Rishima let his mismatched eyes sink close, "I am sure that you will be able to do it Chalcedony, you are quite strong, I could see that when we dueled." He said, then peeked one eye open, "How about this, after our journeys are done we meet up again and have another duel? The last one ended in a stalemate and I know that you are curious about who might have won given one last round, just as I am." He suggested in a quiet voice, not wanting anyone to overhear that he was making plans to meet with Chalcedony again.
The Shifter looked over at him for a long moment before his lips turned up into a smile, "That sounds good, Rishima. Let's have another duel once we have both reached the next step toward our goals." That meant a lot of hard work on both of their parts but he was more then willing to put in that hard work just as he knew that Rishima was, "For now though I think that it's time to turn in. I am exhausted." He said, leaning back against the tree, "Sleep well, Rishima."
"You too, Chalcedony." The halfbreed said a short time later the two of them were snoozing away while Itzal looked out for any dangers, wanting to keep the pair of them safe from anything that might be lurking in the forest, not matter what it might be. He would see to it that the two were able to rest up after their duel and that they were ready for what the morning would bring to them both...

Gerraden
It really had been a strange sort of afternoon, hadn't it? The more that he thought about the one that he had met the more that he felt that. Gerraden was the first ever half blood Alikidike that he had met that was of the same blood mix as Rishima himself was. He was also the first male Alkidike that he had ever met. It was strange and interesting, it was also something that excited him. He had enjoyed the time that he spent with him, even if the guy seemed a lot more hands on then he was used to. He was clinging, wanted to get really super close, and otherwise wanted to be underfoot. It was something that he wasn't used to save with perhaps a few younglings here and there but he supposed that it wasn't unpleasant.
The only thing that had bothered him, less because it was a bother and more because it was yet another thing that he wasn't used to, was the fact that Gerraden seemed to be so eager to hold his hand while they walked. Even just thinking about it Rishima lifted his free hand up, looking it over, then flexed it a bit. Why in the world would he want to hold his hand so much? It wasn't as though either of them were younglings anymore that might get lost... though he supposed that Gerraden was a lot younger then Rishima himself was. The guy was so young that he had yet to get a weapon of his own. It was something that Rishima couldn't help but to marvel at. How long ago had it been that he was a prentice like Gerraden? It really felt like forever he thought to himself. He was a warrior amongst his tribe now, meaning he'd gained rank twice, so it had been some time since he had grown up. Gerraden though was still a fresh face, making him wonder what it was about Rishima that made the younger male want to cling to him. Perhaps it was just because he was a strange, male mix breed like Gerraden was? It was all that made sense to Rishima at least.
After their meeting Gerraden had been so eager to drag him back to his village, their hands clasped together, so that he could meet with Gerraden's parents. It was a meeting that he hadn't exactly been prepared for and yet it had been a rather nice meeting indeed. His parents, a Shifter father and an Alkidike mother, had been more welcoming then one might have expected given that he was of the Alkidike tribe. They had every reason not to trust him or to think him a danger to their son or their relationship. Instead of worrying about such things he'd found himself invited into their house, he'd had a nice chat with Gerraden's parents, he'd even shared a meal with them. It was just... well, nice. He'd felt no pressure at all and was actually able to relax for once, not that he exactly knew what to do with himself when it came to too much relaxation. He much preferred having something to do, feeling quite strange sitting around idly.
There was nothing that he could have done to help though, all the little chores that they needed done they gave over to Gerraden. It was nice to see that he was so willing to do them too. He was a good son, one that listened well to his parents. Not exactly like Rishima had been when he was that age given he'd actually run away from home with Jerarda. Instead of getting into that sort of mischief though he was doing whatever his parents had needed of him, up to and including fetching and carrying fire wood and food. He was a good kid, meaning he would be a good warrior as well one day, one that listened well to what orders were given to him. It made him wonder for an idle moment what might happen between the two of them in the future. Since Gerraden lived in a Shifter village didn't that mean despite him trying to get to the Chibale Isles that he would likely grow up a Shifter with Shifter ideals and a Shifter weapons? He wondered if that meant that they might cross weapons one day since Rishima was to side with the Alkidike on all things even when it came to someone who was so similar to himself.
It was something that he hoped against hope that he wouldn't have to do. Maybe since Rishima had been allowed to be a part of the Alkidike after proving himself then Gerraden could do the same? He couldn't say that he really knew though, one had to give up a lot to be a part of the Alkidike, like Rishima had all but given up his Shifter half so long ago. Yansa had said that he needed to decide who he was and he'd done so. What if Gerraden decided upon his Shifter self? It was one of those thoughts that he decided to shove aside, not wanting to think about it. He liked Gerraden, he was a good kid, one that he wanted to meet with again even if he was clingy and tended to wander off in his thoughts at times. At least he seemed to be quiet and a touch less clingy when he was starring off into space he thought to himself, giving a slight smile at the thought. Shaking his head he tried to clear those thoughts, no, there would be no thinking too fondly of Gerraden. He was more then certain that if he thought really kindly thoughts about him that he would suddenly appear, launch himself at Rishima, and cling to him again.
Best that he was careful not to summon him forth with too many positive thoughts he decided as he headed back toward home. The meeting had been a nice diversion but he had a lot to do, he couldn't let himself get too distracted by Gerraden even if he were a nice enough distraction.

Travel Preparations
It seemed as though there was going to be a tournament soon or so he'd heard from some of his sisters when he'd returned home to the Chibale Isles after staying a time with Gerraden and his family. It had been a nice time but now he found his attention turned completely toward the tournament that the others were talking about and he couldn't help but to be interested in it. The idea that they were going to be gathering there, battling to see who was the strongest race, it seemed to have the Alkidike quite excited. Seemed as though they wanted nothing more then to be a part of it. It would be something, huh? To participate in the tournament and perhaps even win it. He wondered if he should be a part of it too. He was always eager to prove himself to his sisters, wanting to be more welcome amongst them. Gaining rank in the tribe had done a lot for him but he felt that this tournament could do even more, couldn't it? To fight on behalf of his mother's people, as an Alkidike, in an attempt to help their people be the one that came out on top. It could be a good step for him as far improved relations with the tribe went.
The only thing that he really worried about though was Gerraden. A part of him didn't want to leave the guy behind, not after just meeting with him, and then he found himself considering seeing if he wanted to come along. It was a thought that caused him to nearly trip over his own feet. No, no... he shouldn't be worrying about him right now. What he needed to think about what Jerarda. He should speak with his sister, not only about the everything that had happened up to this point but also about the tournament. She should fight as well, she was the strongest person he knew after all, he wanted to fight alongside her for the Alkidike people! He wanted them to get stronger together! She was the one that he cared the most about after all so he should be thinking about her... and yet somehow Gerraden had wormed his way into Rishima's mind in a manner that startled the half blood a bit. He wasn't sure how Gerraden had done it... was it because of their similar bloodlines that he was thinking so hard about him?
Yeah, it had to be that, it was just the fact that they were so similar and because Gerraden was so young. He wanted him to stay safe was all since he was the only other male with Alkidike blood that he had met tot his point. Not to mention that he was so enthusiastic. He just wanted to keep an eye on him to make sure he didn't get hurt, that was all. If he could help Gerraden in the same manner that Jerarda had Rishima himself he would be happy. His antennae twitched upon him figuring out why Gerraden was on his mind so much. It was because he worried for him, that was all. He would check up on him once he headed out from here to where the tournament was taking place, see if he was going there himself, and if he was lucky he would be able to travel to the tournament grounds with both Gerraden and Jerarda. The idea of that happened, getting to travel with both of them, it would be a dream come true for sure. He wanted the pair to meet because he felt that if anyone would be able to look at Gerraden in a favorable manner it would be Jerarda, she had helped Rishima himself out so much in the past after all.
Now, he had to push such thoughts aside and try to focus on more important things he told himself. He couldn't be thinking about his new found friend when there was a tournament that could aid his reputation amongst his sisters. That was more important then anything else due to his desire to become an integral part of the Alkidike Tribe. He would fight on their behalf so that he could feel truly welcome whenever he returned home. It wouldn't be like it used to be when he felt unwanted, as though he were some sort of spy, he was going to be the sort that the younglings and the prentice came to for advice if he got his way. This tournament was going to aid him in becoming as important as that. Now, find Itzal and load up the Radaku's packs, look for Jerarda, find Gerraden, and be on their way to the tournament. He wasn't sure how lucky he would be at doing any of those things other then getting Itzal ready to go but he was going to try his best! He'd already gone to Sauti and back on his own and he would much rather travel with others from now on, traveling alone was far to lonely for his liking.
Giving a smile he scooped up his keen spear and hurried along toward where he was positive that Itzal would be. If there was something the Radaku had learned since they had started staying on the Chibale Isles it was that he could get all manner of affection and free food from the Younglings. It was a lesson that the Radaku had taken to heard and took advantage of to the fullest, seeming to be enjoying a more relaxing style of life. He felt a little bad taking him away from the little ones that he had come to really like but he was in need of his help as far as carrying supplies went. If he was lucky he would be able to get the now spoiled beast to help him out. When he spotted the dark blue beast he gave a soft laugh, watching the Younglings as they climbed all over him, "Eesh... maybe I should just leave him here from now on." He murmured before he started forward to where the Radaku was playing, kneeling down so that he could scratch him under the chin.
"Are you staying here with the Younglings while I go to a tournament or are you going to come with me, Itzal?" He asked of the beast, watching as the big Radaku seemed to be debating over it before finally giving a huffing sound, pushed up to his feet, and stretched out all over. It seemed that after Rishima went off with Gerraden on his own that the beast wasn't about to let him wander off again. The half blood gave a smile before he looked to the Younglings, "Don't worry, he will be back to play with you again soon." He assured them before turning to Itzal once more, "Come on, let's get ready for our trip." He told him. That was one traveling companion down, now to see if he could find the other two...

Aftermath
The battles that he had fought in, while too few in number for his liking, had gone well enough. He wouldn't say so out loud but he was glad that if he had to lose that it was against Chalcedony since the man was his friend. He was glad to see the kindhearted Shifter again, to see how well he was doing, to see his adorable sons, he was happy over that. Not to mention he was happy to see that he was just as good a person as he always was. The guy had been so kind as to carry him off the battlefield after their battle as Rishima had found himself unable to do so after what was a rather awe inspiring round. It seemed as though Chalcedony had been training hard, hadn't he? He'd gotten so much stronger then the last time they had faced off with one another, and Rishima felt that he needed to work harder himself so as not to fall behind his friend any further then he already had. He would have to continue his own training again as soon the tournament was over and everyone started to head home. For the moment though he wanted to enjoy the rest of the tournament, cheer on those he knew, and otherwise enjoy himself.
The Tournament had definitely been an intense learning experience for the half blood Alkidike and there was much that he was going to take away from it he thought to himself. There was so much to do once everything had wrapped up but before that a leader still needed to be crowned. Turning slowly to look over at the Healer who had been casting her powerful and invigorating spells on him, smiling when she told him that she was done. She really was a miracle worker to be able to get him back to feeling like his old self again so quickly. Pushing up to his feet the halfbreed gave a full body stretch, antennae twitching, before he gave a smile, "Thank you very much, I feel much now thanks to your tending and spells." He said, reaching down to scoop up his weapon and his pack. Feeling refreshed he felt that he was ready to return to the arena so that he could spend the remaining portion of the tournament studying the other fighters, their battling style, and see if there were any tricks he could pick up.
Giving a little whistle he called out, "Come on, Itzal!" Hoping to get the attention of his Radaku who had managed to find himself some Younglings of various tribes to play with and beg food off of. He really was getting far too good at that Rishima thought to himself before he knelt down before the big, scarred up Radaku, scratching him under the chin, "Come on, there are other Younglings that you can play with back in the stands." He was sure that Chalcedony's sons would enjoy playing with the Radaku if they were anything like the other Younglings that Itzal had mesmerized to this point. They would all be fast friends, especially if Chal's boys happened to have food on them. There was no better way to tame Itzal and make friends with him then to offer him food, likely a tip that he would need to give to Gerraden if the guy started to hang around with them a lot. It was likely that Itzal could get jealous if he spent too much time with them after all and the best way to head that off was with food. A good thought to keep in mind for when the other halfbreed caught up with him again, something that Rishima was confident would happen. The guy seemed magnetized to him after all.
After one more 'thank you' for the Healer Rishima was on his way with Itzal trotting along with him, grumbling a bit over being taken away from his friends. It was a sound that had Rishima laughing a bit, "I know, I know, I am so mean to you, right? I can't just leave you alone though, what if you got lost because you decided to follow someone home? I would be very lonely you know." He told him, stroking his mane in a gentle manner. The Radaku was rather good at making him feel bad about taking him away from his friends he thought to himself but he would rather keep Itzal with him, not wanting to risk him getting lost in the crowd. Even the prospect of it was something that scarred him a bit. He'd much rather Itzal be a little miffed at him for taking him away from the Younglings then risk not being able to find him because there were too many people and animals around. Best that they stick close to one another so that they would be able to keep track of each other.
"I am sure the moment we go to sit down in the arena that you will forget all about the other Younglings when you meet Chal's sons. If they are anything like their father then they are sure to be sweet boys." He said, knowing very well that the kindhearted Shifter could only have sons who were equally as kindhearted, it only made sense. Of course just as they were just stepping into the arena he caught the voices that were calling out across the place, ones that were talking about... war? Blinking his mismatched eyes for a moment he hurried forward to get a closer look, listening to what was being said, and went a bit wide eyed. Damn it... what had he missed while he was getting patched up? It appeared as though the tournament had ended and something else was happening now, something more worrisome... not to mention infuriating.
There was a part of Rishima, likely the more Alkidike part, that was insulted by the idea that someone else, strangers he'd never seen or heard of, thought to come forth from the South to try to take over. Usurpers, who did they think that they were coming out of no where to try to take over everything themselves? Here he'd figured that if anyone was to do that it would be his sisters, not some strange tribe that he hadn't even heard of before now. Suddenly, instead of wanting to gather his sisters and head back to the Chibale Isles with them. The Elders would want to know about this, as would all of their sisters who hadn't come to the tournament. They would want to know about these strange men marked with orange stones that meant to take what didn't belong to them, and they would want to figure out what their next step was.
"We need to find Gerraden and bring him with us too. I don't want him doing anything foolish." He said to Itzal, tightening his hand on his weapon as he hurried to off to try to find the other halfbreed, eager to get moving as quickly as possible.

After the Duels
Deep down Rishima knew that constantly meeting with Chalcedony really wasn't something that he should be doing. After all his sisters weren't exactly the sort that saw eye to eye with the Shifters and vice versa. Still, the guy was nice enough and this meeting had allowed Rishima to get in a lot of practice as far as various sorts of sparring went. The first battle that he'd had his with his secret Shifter friend was a normal battle with weapons, ones that were made safe so their lives weren't at risk, but weapons none the less. It had been a good battle and one that Rishima was proud to say that he had been able to come out on top in. The second battle was done in a way that Rishima had never tried before, one that seemed to be a rather brutish sort of fighting, that being to fight with fists. Surprisingly, likely due to his speed alone, he had come out on top of that battle as well much to his delight. He felt as though his skills were growing sharper with each passing day and duels like these, with people that had weapons unlike anything the Alkidike had, really helped him out in this manner.
With the threat of war looming over them by the Oban forces from the South he knew that he had to do whatever it took to get stronger, even if that meant to go behind the backs of some of his sisters to train with someone like Chalcedony. Surely when it came down to it, when they found themselves face to face with the enemy, such training would pay off. He would do whatever it took to make sure that his friends, family, and even the sisters that didn't much care for him were all kept safe! He would push himself to the brink and beyond if it meant that he would come back stronger then he had because the stronger he was the more people he would be able to protect.
All he'd wanted to do when he was younger was to impress his sisters, to be a part of the Alkidike, and now that he was ranked as a warrior amongst them he would have to prove himself. He would make sure that his sisters, his homeland, Mother Aisha herself, that they were all protected from the danger that Oban presented. While he felt that there still much he had to do, more training, more patrolling, and the like, but even despite that he felt as though he were in a good place at the moment. A bit on the tired side after those long battles with his friend, but still, his victories were something that he would celebrate quietly with Itzal. There really wasn't anyone else, save maybe for Gerraden, that he could share such news with but even then he felt that it was likely best kept to himself. He wasn't sure if Gerraden would share with someone else after all, his parents, perhaps, and Rishima couldn't chance that.
The half blooded warrior gave a single glance back in the direction he'd come in, back toward where he'd parted ways with Chalcedony, then looked forward once more. His friend was heading home, just as Rishima should be, though he was certain that after a bit of rest that he was going to return to patrolling. He couldn't just sit still after all, not when there was even a chance that Oba might send spies into their midst to try to get information about them. He would keep his eyes open for them and take them down if he saw them trying to skulk about too close to the Chibale Islands he thought to himself. His mismatched eyes narrowed ever so slightly at the thought, his hand tightening on his weapon. He would like to think that those of Oba weren't so callous that they would invade such a sacred place where children slept and Aisha grew, but one could never be too sure, could they? Best that he just keep up his patrols and make sure that they didn't get the chance to even try to harm Aisha or the little ones.
He was pulled out of his thoughts by the approach of Itzal, the Radaku gave a little grunt sound, seeming to be happy to see that Rishima was done with his silly mock fighting. While he was off playing like that Iztal had gone hunting, having caught himself a tasty bug to chew on, and now he wanted nothing more then to head home. There was a nice, comfy bed that he could be sleeping on. Not to mention that come morning there would be many younglings up and awake that he could be mooching food off of! His tail swished at the thought and he lifted his gaze to stare at Rishima, looking at him in an expectant manner.
"Eh? Oh... you probably want to head back, huh?" He murmured, knowing full well what the Radaku was thinking by the look on the beast's face alone. He wanted food, free food, the kind that he didn't have to chase down. He got it all the time from the little ones that wanted a chance to pet him. It was a trade of sorts, the younglings got to cling all over Itzal and in return Itzal got all the snacks that they could bring him. He was getting a bit spoiled, not to mention a bit pudgy, but he could more then understand why the Radaku indulged in such things. He was cute enough to get what he wanted after all, Rishima might as well let him enjoy that little perk.
Giving a smile he said, "Alright, how about we take a tiny break. After that though we need to return to our patrolling!" Though the tough part would be getting the Radaku away from the islands knowing he'd much rather stay there to be pampered by the little ones. If he put up too much of a fuss though he supposed that he could let him stay while he went on his next patrol. It would mean he could move a lot faster and quieter while Itzal got to live it up back on the Chibale Isles, "Let's get back quickly. I know you enjoy lazing about but I can't do that at the moment." He told the Radaku, falling into step behind his companion as they set out on their temporary return trip to the Chibale Isles.
