After returning to Jauhar Rishima found it completely impossible to just sit still, as though in doing so he wouldn't find himself ready when the time came for those from Oba to appear. He seemed to find it a little hard to sleep as well, often doing patrols, going through training exercises, checking on his own people, checking on the village in which Gerraden lived. There was so much to do during the months that stood between them and when the big one called Bastian said that his people would be arriving. Was that even enough time? What would happen between now and then? Would the other tribes see about some sort of truce to deal with a bigger enemy or would the Alkidike see it as a personal insult? His sisters always seemed as though they were the ones that should take the world, they were the strongest of the tribes after all, or some of them believed. Oddly though it wasn't an Alkidike that had won that tournament... though he supposed that could be because the most powerful of his sister hadn't been able to fight. Jerarda for instance had missed out on it and he was sure she'd of won if she fought, likely his hero worship talking but he wouldn't admit that.
"We should keep moving." He said, turning his attention to look over at Itzal who was perched on a branch nearby, watching him closely, before turning his attention back to the ground down below. Aside from a few species of animals and a couple Shifters they hadn't really seen anything worth taking note of. Rishima's antennae gave a little twitch before he hopped down a couple branches before he continued to walk along, "I don't much care for being unable to do anything... all this waiting is going to drive me nuts." Something that Itzal agreed with by giving a rumbling growl, tending to usually agree with anything Rishima said.
Giving a smile the halfbreed said, "How about we circle around again, get a peek at Gerraden's village again, maybe we can check in on him without giving away our position, then keep going." He knew full well that if the prentice saw them that he would likely chase after them. He was a rather puppy like boy after all, a super friendly one, and one that should stay home of danger was afoot. He was safest at home until he finally got himself rank in his tribe and a weapon that he could defend himself with. Until then he could stick close to his village, to his family, and Rishima would visit him from time to time when he wasn't busy patrolling.

Today, Dyakida was practicing staffs. Or would be when she found some actually suitable wood for it. It had to be a specific part of the tree with a specific grain. The trunk worked, but it had to be very carefully done, and she definitely wasn't chopping down trees while blind. Her sisters would do that for her. And besides, she was practicing. She was looking for already fallen trees to investigate and for small branches she could mess around with. It wasn't as if these attempts would be usable. At all. So far though, the wood she had found was too hard to carve out or too rotten to work. She'd found good pieces of wood, but not suitable for practicing this. Good bow wood, yes. Good haft wood, yes. But nothing with the right grain. It was frustrating, but it also was not a bad day to be looking around the jungle. The weather was actually pleasant for once.
Peyla was bored. Wood wood wood. That was all her alkidike wanted. Wood wood wood. She HAD wood. It was silly.
The sprite heard a voice in the distance. Male? Ooo, male! The sprite was always interested in spying a male twoleg. So far the ones they had run into had had such pretty eyes and hair! It wasn't that far away. She could just pop off and take a look, couldn't she?
She looked slyly at her Alkidike. If she was quiet, maybe she wouldn't know!
Carefully, Peyla snuck off to investigate.
... ... Well, he didn't have pretty eyes but he had two different eyes which was nice too! And he had pretty skin and... and...
AAAAAAHHHH THAT WAS A RADAKU AAAAAAHHHH DANGER DANGER DANGER!
Peyla cheeped in horror. IT WAS GONNA EAT HIM!!!!

The odd, foreign cheep sound was something that drew Rishima's attention, as well as that of Itzal, and both of them turned to the side to see what had made such a sound. Itzal spotted the Sprite first, licking his maw as he did so. Taking a couple steps forward, looking as though he might try to snap the creature up in his jaws, the Radaku was nearly drooling... his attack was stopped though as Rishima spotted the sprite and reached out to grab hold of the Radaku's mane, pulling him up short, "Ah! Wait, Itzal. Wait." He said, digging into his pack real fast, getting out a bit of dried fish to tempt the dark blue beast with. It was only after he'd gotten Itzal to break eye contact with the cheeping creature did Rishima hand the food over to him, "Good, good boy."
Turning back to the Sprite once more he gave the little, winged thing a smile, "I am sorry about him, he tends to think with his stomach a lot." He said, then held a hand out to the creature, not grabbing at it, merely giving it a perch to land on if the creature so chose to land, "Aren't you a pretty thing... I can't say I have ever seen anything like you in Jauhar before." The only time he could recall seeing something like this was down at the Tournament grounds a short time ago, there had been a stand selling such creatures. He couldn't help but to wonder if they were, perhaps, originally from Jauhar or if this one was a pet that was purchased at the tournament. Looking around for a moment he tried to figure out if this one was traveling with anyone, he didn't spot anyone straight away but that didn't mean much. It was all too easy to hide whilst in Jauhar, that much he knew for a fact.
"You don't have to worry about Itzal, I won't let him eat you. I have much better treats for him after all." The dried fish especially was something that the beast liked, meaning that he had the perfect treats to distract Itzal with so he wouldn't try to make a quick snack of the tiny thing before them.

No! Wait! It was his pet! AND IT WAS GOING TO EAT HER AAAAAAAHHH! She was about to fly away when the man stopped his beast.
And he was so polite! And so kind, not letting his radaku eat her! She landed on his hand daintily, smiling. Yes! Peyla was pretty! He should keep saying things like that!
She liked how he was dressed too! All these nice cool colors AND he had beads in his hair too! Hmm, though! He had hair like her Alkidike! She reached out to try and touch a strand, chiming curiously.
Dyakida had been using a special knife to cut off a few nice, solid pieces of log to take home, and hadn't needed Peyla's help for a while. Now, though, she was ready to move on and find other resources, and she realized she didn't hear Peyla's impatient chiming or feel her familiar feather-light touch on her hand. Oh? Had she wandered off again? Hopefully not into trouble.
"Peyla?" she called, standing up with the help of her staff, her wood pieces cozy and safe in her carry bag, "Now... where did you go..." she murmured to herself, trying to listen for the chimes of the sprite.
Peyla heard the call and perked up, not managing to touch or play with Rishima's hair. She chimed towards Dyakida excitedly- she had to come and meet this man! He had antenna like Yaholo and was as pleasant too! And had really nice skin and hair!
Dyakida heard the chime and began moving in that direction, tapping at the ground with her staff. She and Peyla had been together long enough for her to know when Peyla had found something and wasn't moving. It was all in the chime- the Sprite was very expressive. Calling her back would do nothing- 'Kida knew she would have to come to her.
"What have you found, Peyla?" she asked, finally coming into view.

Rishima watched as the odd little creature reached out toward him, seeming as though she were just as interested in Rishima as Rishima was in her... though a voice was suddenly calling out, drawing the attention of the one that it would appear was called 'Peyla'. He turned toward the voice, curious as to who it was, and then realized that the little critter was leaving, back to the one calling out to her it would seem. He found himself wondering if he should follow after her, he couldn't help but to wonder after all who she was traveling with. Just to be safe he would be check he thought to himself before he turned to Itzal, "If it's someone that doesn't pose a threat you behave, alright?" It wasn't that he was unfriendly per say, Rishima just knew that he much preferred Younglings to random people since they gave out food.
Turning to follow along after Peyla in as quiet a manner as he could, with Itzal tromping along behind him, the halfbreed found himself curious as to who it was that was traveling with the odd creature and if said person was dangerous. He doubted that the warriors from Oda would just call out after their pets though if they were looking to sneak in and spy but one couldn't be certain now could they? As he got closer Rishima's entire body seemed to relax a bit upon spotting a fellow Alkidike as opposed to some unknown enemy. That was what he would rather see, a friend instead of a foe he thought to himself before he hopped down to land in front of the woman, "Greetings, Sister." He said to her, wanting to know that he meant no harm despite what he looked like, not knowing for the time being at least that she couldn't see him.
The Radaku followed along after him, landing easily next to the half blood, gave a great yawn, then found himself instantly bored. Another Alkidike, huh? Not that he had anything at all against them but she was obviously not a Youngling and as such it was highly unlikely that she would be giving out treats. As though to sooth the grumbling beast Rishima dug into his back to get another bit of fish, tossing it to him, "Behave, Iztal." He told the Radaku who chewed on the treat and seemed to care very little for behaving or being friendly. He seemed to feel the fact that he wasn't trying to eat the tasty little morsel that was fluttering about was the most he'd concede.

Dyakida turned to the impact of feet upon ground, for a moment uncertain. But then he- the voice was male- called her 'Sister'. She relaxed. Another Alkidike, or probably half alkidike. She was glad he had revealed himself as such- she would hate to do something as embarrassing as mistaking him for an earthling. Again. Like she had with Yaholo. "Greetings to you as well!" she said, smiling. Oh, what was the male form of sister?! The word was escaping her now. She reached out a hand, palm up, towards him, "Has my guide been bothering you?"
Peyla gave an indignant chime. She was not bothering him, she was touching his hair!
"...I apologize if she has. She gets bored sometimes, you see." what was that word? Brummer? Broker? No, that wasn't it. Though... should she use the male form of sister, even if she remembered it? She was unsure. Perhaps she should just call him sister. "I would hate to have her cause" Another "incident for one of my sisters" well there. If he corrected her, she would know the answer. If he didn't she would know she hadn't needed to ask herself the question in the first place.
She was not bothering him! How many times did she have to say it!

Rishima gave the little sprite a glance before giving a smile, "Not at all, your guide is quite lovely." He said, still quite impressed and enthralled with the little creature due to her being unlike anything he'd seen before. Of course giving her so many compliments had Itzal giving a huffing something, something that caused Rishima to turned to the Radaku, scratching him under the chin, "Now, now Itzal, no reason to get jealous. You know I will always love you the best." He told the beast, something that caused Itzal to looked at the sprite, delight in his eyes now that he knew that Rishima loved him best. Nothing to worry about then!
The halfbreed's antennae gave a little twitch as he watched the way that Itzal starred at the sprite for a moment, shook his head, then looked back over to his fellow Alkidike once more, "There is nothing to worry about, sister, I assure you. She was nothing but sweet." He said in what he hoped was a reassuring tone. Even as he tried to sooth his sister though he couldn't help but to wonder what sort of incident something so small could cause. Given he knew nothing about the little sprite or what she was capable of he could only guess. Either way at least there had been no incident to be had thus far so there was no reason to worry if you asked him.

Peyla crooned, running a hand along a head fin vainly. See? She was lovely. Lovely and being very good! She stuck her tongue out at the Radaku, ready to flutter out of sight. Silly biters. Clearly, he was the halfbreeds, and the halfbreed loved him, but Peyla would show she was better, oh yes. She smiled sweetly.Dyakida relaxed. She really wanted no repeats of the 'Andile Market Affair' as she had taken to calling it in her head. She held out a hand and wiggled her fingers, calling Peyla over. Peyla kept up the sweet smile as she fluttered over to her Alkidike's hand and stood on in it neatly like a well-behaved sprite, even though she wanted to play with his hair. See how well behaved she was!"That is good then!" clearly, he hadn't been offended by being called 'Sister', so she decided not to push her luck and call him the male version. She was certain now that it was a slur. "What is with you?" she heard the huffing of a large creature beside him and was curious. She remembered what Rastian had said before, and the troubles at the tournament, and swallowed her pride, though it hurt. "I am Dyakida, the blind artisan." she said, by way of explanation. She knew there were rumors about her, more after Peyla's little incident, though she could do without some of them. "And you, Sister?"

At the taunting of the Sprite Itzal gave a rumbling sound in his throat, eyes narrowing, clearly displeased with that one. How he'd like to eat her up... but given that Rishima wanted him to behave he would refrain. He doubted it would go over well to eat another person's pet. With that the dark colored radaku settled down next to Rishima, doing his best to ignore the little pest best that he could.
Rishima glanced down at his pet for a moment before turning his attention back to the sister before him, "Dyakida, it is good to meet you." He said, then added in an awed toned, "A blind artisan? That is quite impressive." To think that she made things without the use of her sight, it was something that he couldn't help but to be in awe of something it wasn't something he could really imagine himself, "What sorts of things do you make?"
"Myself? My name is Rishima, a warrior of our tribe. I am actually patrolling at the moment." Not assigned to do so but mostly doing so due to a touch of paranoia. He didn't must trust the idea that people planning to invade were going to do so exactly when the giant at the tournament said they were. What if that were a trick? Or worse those of Oba learned that the man tattled and meant to move their plans up? He didn't want to be caught off guard so he felt it best to keep an eye on things. These were all worries he kept to himself though since he wasn't sure if anyone else didn't take that giant's word at face value.

"Weapons." she replied, "My contribution to the battlefield, since I cannot fight on it." she had heard of blind warriors, but they were far more skilled than she had been even when sighted. They were barely mortal, if the legends were to be believed. No, she was nothing like them, and besides she had found her calling. It didn't mean she wasn't bitter now and then about it, but people wanted what she made, and that meant that- in a sense- she was there with them. "Then I thank you for your dedication." she wished she could assist but, other than a sprite, she had no way of knowing if anybody was there- by the time her antennae picked them up, they would be close, and it would likely be too late. "What weapon do you use, Warrior Rishima?" she asked, curiously "A weapon tells me much about the person wielding it." not everything, but people gravitated to weapons that suited their souls. If not, they switched. Patrolling? Peyla wondered for what. Fruits? Pretty things? Berries? She patrolled for nice things to bring her alkidike, and for bad things that could hurt her. She stroked her alkidike's hand. She was a good sprite.

"Weapons, I see, then I thank you on behalf of my fellow warriors." He said, giving a smile, wondering if the weapon that he had was one that she had made for their sisters. He turned to look over at the spear that he had with him, then back to Dyakida once more. He really was grateful if that were so, it was a rather good weapon after all, one that had served him well thus far in his travels and patrols. When she thanked him his antennae set to twitching a bit, cheeks coloring, before he smiled, "Of course, I am here to serve Aisha and our sisters." He said, glad to hear such words from a fellow sister. He knew that he had to work a lot harder due to his gender and mixed blood, but to get thanks for his dedication, it was exciting.
When questioned about his weapon he said, "I carry a spear, sister." He'd chosen the weapon most commonly carried by his sisters so that he could be that much closer to him. Giving a smile he then said, "If you wish I can hand it over to you and let you inspect it." He wouldn't mind handing it over to her if she was the one who made the weapons, she could let him know if his maintenance was up to par. He wanted to be prepared after all.

Dyakida liked how warm and friendly this conversation was. Being thanked sparked very good feelings. "A spear?" she said, sounding slightly surprised. admittedly she didn't know this man... SISTER. she reminded herself angrily. He is my sister and I should not forget this. more sister than she, and she was born of Aisha alone- he was a warrior, and she was not. Still, it seemed an interesting choice for someone like him. "I would like to, yes." She held out her hands to accept it. Had it been one she had made? That would be gratifying indeed. "I'm sorry if I seem surprised at your answer. You seem more suited to the bow, but admittedly that is only my initial impression..." maybe if she knew this man... sister!!!... better...

Rishima reached out take her hand in his before handing the weapon over with the other, "I received it from our wonderful, elder sister Eshe, but that was a while back, before the tournament that everyone was called to a short time ago." He explained, he hadn't used this particular weapon in that tournament meaning that it really should be in pretty good condition over all. Still, it never hurt to let an expert look it over given that he had been lucky enough to find one of them. He wanted to keep his weapons in the best condition possible given the threat of danger that Oba had cast over the world.
"It's quite alright, I actually decided upon wielding a spear so that I could be closer to our sisters, to make up for the separation my looks initially caused." There would likely always be a rift between himself and someone of his sister due to his looks and gender, he even shifted colors like his father's people, but he meant to make up for that with his actions. Even if he had to work harder then an average sister he didn't mind, so long as he could serve Aisha and his sisters well he was happy.

"Yes, I remember the tournament. I was selling weapons in the stands." she wondered if she should have tried to fight, but she was pretty sure she would have ended up undignifiedly beaten. But what if she had won? Such silly thoughts. Her weapon stand had been more profitable than fighting would have been. She'd, after all, learned some key details about magical items that she hadn't known before and had met many interesting earthlings, including some fellow weaponcrafters who she hoped to speak to again. Hopefully, during peacetime. It was good to know how the Earthlings crafted their weapons, and- especially with the presence of halfbreeds such as this Yaholo who chose unusual weapons- it was good to know hoe to repair or improve those weapons. Spears, though, she was familiar with. They were the first weapon she had learned to craft from crystal and wood. "A spear is a very traditional weapon." she remarked, nodding in understanding, "And very useful. It is a balanced and flexible weapon in battle, and well worth the effort to craft and maintain." She gently squeezed his hand gratefully and removed it to properly inspect the weapon. She hefted it and felt along it, running through it in her mind. Finally, she handed it back to him. "This is a finely crafted spear!" she said, not hiding her excited intrigue, "And you've taken very good care of it, from what I can feel of the binding and honed edges." And the balance and the tempering and the... she stopped herself from overenthusing. She had to think and plan now. "Elder Sister Eshe gave you this?" she said, thoughtful, "I'll have to ask her who made it. They have a few crafting tricks that I would like to learn..."

When his sister spoke of selling weapons during the tournament he tried to recall if he'd seen her but he couldn't quite remember. It had been a rather busy time after all, lots of matches to participate in and watch after all. He had only spent a little bit of his time shopping and remembered what he bought personally and not much more about everything else going on there.
His antennae lifted, giving a bit of a twitch, as he listened to her spoke of how the spear was traditional and about the plus side of using such a weapon. She then went on to praise the weapon, something that had him smiling. He was glad to hear that he had done well by his weapon, "I am glad to hear that, sister, the weapon may very well save my life one day, as such I want to take good of it." He was quite delighted to knowing that he was doing what he should. The last thing he wanted was to end up in a bind because the weapon failed him.
"Yes, it was quite wonderful of her to give me such a gift." He would have done the errand the elder assigned to him for nothing after all, just glad to be someone that an elder would ask for help from. Giving a smile he said, "I am sure she would tell you if you asked, she is a really kind woman." The image of her taking care of the too tiny, baby Alkidike girl one that was branded into his mind even to this day. He couldn't see Eshe keeping the secret of who created the spear from another of her sister.
