Demetrius was so excited that his graduation from pre-law was right around the corner. He had worked hard to get to this point and he was determined to make the most of his opportunities. He was confident that he had the skills to succeed and was determined to make a positive difference in the world.
He was ready to make that difference, and while he knew he still had law school ahead of him he couldn't help but be excited to get to that next step in his career. That was when the bell rang, and he turned and looked at a clock on the wall. "Oh no I'm going to be late," he said as he quickly slung his backpack on his back. He had never been late for any law-based college classes and he wasn't going to start now. He sprinted out the door and down the corridor, desperately trying to make it to class on time. He made it just in time, out of breath and sweating. He quickly took his seat in the back of the class, relieved he had made it in time.
Today's class was on psychology's place in the law. The teacher began to discuss the various implications of psychology in the courtroom. He talked about the different types of testimony that can be used, such as eyewitness testimony and expert testimony. He also discussed the use of psychological tests as evidence. He also discussed how psychology can be used to determine a defendant's culpability or innocence, and how it is used to determine the appropriate sentence for a crime. He discussed how psychologists can be subpoenaed to provide testimony in court, and how their work can be used to help juries make decisions.
He also discussed how psychologists can provide expert testimony on topics such as criminal profiling, risk assessment, and jury selection. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of psychology in the courtroom.
It was amazing for Osiris to hear all these ideas. He forgot that sometimes the human mind could find truth in other ways. Sometimes it took another human looking at a person to find the truth that they had hidden away. A person's mind was another piece of evidence that he sometimes forgot existed.
Osiris felt humbled and grateful for this new perspective. He realized that he could never have all the answers, and that other people could often help him see things in a new light. He vowed to keep an open mind and to listen to others more carefully. Osiris realized that he was not alone in his struggles and that other people could offer him valuable insight. He realized that by listening to others, he could gain a better understanding of the world around him and make more informed decisions. He vowed to be open to the opinions of others and to be open to learning and growing.
As the class finished his mind was fresh with everything he had learned. He knew that only meant one thing - he needed to go on patrol. He needed to put to use everything he had learn to keep this city safe and bring the justice it deserved.
