so i'll talk to you all tomorrow night, simply because I do have a lot to say

Does any of it have to do with facts? Because if not, I don't care to hear any bullshit.

i'm sorry, i agree you're wrong. you can change anything you want about yourself (short of sex change i believe) with will power. i've seen people change eye colour, hair colour, cure amnemia, cause and cure depression with just will power. depression is nothing but a lump of issues, unknown or known. yes sometimes depression is a side effect of an illness, but most people don't even have depression purely because of the illness until they're told it's a side effect.

and every kind of doctor will tell you that everything under the sun require's constand medication to control, not to cure. why? because they all want the damned money. simple.

Change eye color/hair color because of will power? Comments like that make me wonder if you're hallucinating. Honestly.

And you clearly don't know much about doctors. They're happier with the less meds a person is on. I'm a nurse. I work with doctors every day.

It's not blame, blame is saying you caused the problem. but you must own up to the fact that you're allowing yourself to continue these feelings. it's something I had to do and it's not comfortable....

I'm not laying blame, I'm explaining that whilst under the influence of depression there is no real constant variable except the person who is depressed, I am explaining that it is a condition but not a disease. a disease is a problem, a bad thing, a condition is simply the state of things.

You don't seem to understand the difference between the feeling of sadness and clinical depression.
There is a huge difference between feeling sad and low and clinical depression. I can change my sadness, depression isn't a matter of will.

Thank you, by the way. I'm not the only one saying this.

To both of you, trust me, it lasted 18 years, it never wained and i thought it was a constant in my life,

I had depression, My fifth psychologist actually told me that it wouldn't be diagnosed simply because he saw in me that I was stubborn enough to overcome it and that I could actually do it on my own... he also said I should be medicated for a period of time but I declined as my family is against medication.

First off I was told i needed medication, but I declined.

Second off I used many things to help rewire myself, techniques that have since been "Discredited"

as to all you others, I'll respond tomorrow night in a lengthy post, I only have about ten minutes between class, getting home, and getting ready for work which goes until 11

so i'll talk to you all tomorrow night, simply because I do have a lot to say

and I don't doubt that, if you read my other posts you'll see I said that not everyone grieves and has the same exact condition as you. You wanted to know why people consider it and instead you started typing why they shouldn't do it. If you had bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia it would be different. those are kinds of disorders that can't just be willed away, despite what a few other people have said on here.

yes, I spent a whole paragraph trying to tell her that and you said it in two sentences by asking her if she hallucinates.

I didn't know if that was why you were laughing or the doctor part.

If she is hallucinating, there is no point in trying to talk sense to her. She won't see reason. Dealing with people that hallucinate suck.

This is true. Oh well. some people will believe anything if someone is convincing enough. I know cause I've been there.

What was your intent in making this thread? You don't sound like you really want to know why people consider or attempt suicide. In fact, from your post, it sounds very much like you've already decided what their motives are and what their lives are like, and have dismissed them entirely. You know, since you've gone through bad times and haven't attempted suicide, anyone else who does is a bad/weak person, amirite?

I hate it when people treat life experiences, positive or negative, like some kind of pissing contest.

You don't appear to have any concept of what a mental illness is, nor do you seem to realize that attitudes like yours are one of the reasons so many people with suicidal feelings never seek help. Why would they, since people like you just tell them, essentially, to cheer up and get over it. "It's all in your head".

i know the sun lightens hair, and clothes change the shade of eye colour. but the sun cannot turn hair from brown to black in a matter of three days. or ever. same with eyes. sure hazel, blue, and green can change from one to the other based of reflection, but it has to be near it on the spectrum. not the opposite side. which is what i saw not hear as you assumed. and i may be young, but i have generations of my family and my people to back me up. you people and your degrees only have a few centuries of borrowed knowledge and theories, and some meds that cover up symtoms.

i have never met a doctor who has ever given anything that cures something like bi-polar or schizophrenia. ever. or even a doctor that says they can fix astignitism short of laser surgery. that's BS. they only say control. and when you body build immunity, more drugs that cost more money, more doctor visits that cost more money.

well I honestly and sincerely doubt that, and I was actually going to type what you see as well but got lazy. If you want to believe people have magical powers so be it.

rofl X'D i appreciate that. i'll continue to believe in 'magic' and you continue believing that your medical science is worth it's two cents.

I'm just gonna jump in here with this.

Now wouldn't that be a simple matter of reflection, not willpower as you stated before? Yes, my hair does tend to be a tad lighter in the summer, but that's not because I "will" it to. But anyways, it's physically impossible to change hair and eye color, which is determined by genetics. This is coming from a Wiccan who's all about the willpower and the like. But something like that is, once again, impossible.
