⋆⋆⋆ HAKASE xELISIA
yonbantaixTAICHO

Elisia waved goodbye to Tadashi, unsure if he saw her. He seemed to be a little on the drunk side, but not so much that he was going to trip or faint anytime soon. Then, she turned and smiled at Keizo, in an attempt to make him relax a little bit more. He seemed a little tense, especially at a wedding. “Thank you very much for the congratulations, I hope you find something like that too, for yourself.” she answered softly, “And don’t worry about the ‘ma’am’ or the formalities. Call you whatever you like, most people call me Riyu…ah, actually, I’m Hakase-Taichō now, I guess.” She took several sips from her cup, absentmindedly remembering that she shouldn’t drink so much. Taking another cup from the nearby servant, she offered it to Keizo. “Anyway, have something to drink, relax for once. It must be tough being the new guy, especially under Kurihara-Taichō.” She nudged Kyo a little at this, before recalling something she had heard. Turning to Keizo with a smile on her face, she giggled slightly, “Ah, you must be the one I heard from the others, causing all that damage! You’ve created quite a reputation for yourself.”

There was something else that she was meaning to tell Kyo, a long time ago, and while this might not be the best time to do it, in front of his Lieutenant, there was a high chance that she was not going to see him very often after this wedding, if he still felt guilty for what he had done to her a year ago. While she had heard rumours of Hei ‘taking care’ of Kyo and most likely his problem, she still felt obliged to at least put forward the proposition. “Kurihara-Taichō, most likely Hakase Hei-Taichō has taken care of it, but if you wish, we do have donated supplies in our medical facility if you need it. It is the least I would be able to do for a fellow Captain.” she hoped that he understood exactly what she was talking about, namely the blood supplies. Bowing her head at him to tell him that she was entirely sincere in offering this, she then took several more gulps of her sake.

Hakase Hei
Jūnibantai Taichō
"...allow me to show you a fate worse than death."

As Hei calmly sat listening to Ciel speak from behind his seat, Hei couldn't help but notice that Tsukiko was nearing his location. By the time she was several feet away, Ciel had mentioned the cost of the wedding, something he had been attempting to keep under wraps so as to not make his daughter feel overwhelmed by the cost of it. Tsukiko was close enough and he knew she had heard no matter what she would deny later. As soon as he had finished speaking, Hei took a glass from the servant to his right and drained it's contents before placing it on the platter that was shoved into his personal area the second the cup left his mouth. Returning his hands to their former position, Hei shut his eyes and exhaled a long sigh. "Mr. Girard, when I asked you to take care of my finances, that was not an invitation to pry into my decisions and judge them as you saw fit. Your instructions were to merely balance my checkbook and assure my money was where it needed to be at all times. You put your nose where it does not belong, and I will see to it that you never work in this city again. You should know by now how much I will stick to that conviction." Hei stated calmly, allowing his eyes to slide upon just in time to catch Kyoshiro looking at him and nearly every Shinigami like he knew something. Blowing this off as something he couldn't care about, Hei turned his attention onto Tsukiko who had just leaned in to kiss his cheek before pulling back and straightening up.

He gave her a head-to-toe look, watching her carefully as she fidgeted nervously while desperately trying to thank him for the trouble he had gone through to prepare for this wedding. He waited quite patiently until she had finished speaking before standing upright very quickly, causing his servants to twitch out of habit, and his wolf to raise it's head in mock alarm. Hei put his hands on her shoulders and gave her a soft smile. "Don't worry about the expense, it's of little concern. All I want is what's best for my daughter and if I cannot even spoil her on her wedding day, then when can I? You will long out live me, Tsuki, so don't you dare worry about paying me back or any such ridiculous things. Just let me be your father who spoils you because he loves you. You and Elisia are very welcome and please do not hesitate to ask for anything. If the expense bothers you so much, consider it payback for seeing to my resurrection personally. Okay? " Releasing her shoulders, he turned away from Tsukiko and began to descend towards the larger group of Shinigami which consisted of Kyo, Elisia, Nu, and several others that he did not know, nor care to know. Stopping next to Kyo, whom he easily towered over at 6'9" and without bothering to ask for permission, pulled his robes to the side to look at his neck. Seeing the bite marks being ever present, Hei cast him a small smirk and replaced his clothes. "Serum treating you well, I should hope? I trust you have taken it today, as killing a colleague on this day is not something I was looking forward to. I should hope you use it always, because I was very generous to give it to you and you should always remember that debt."

Casting a look towards Nu, he made a demure motion towards the instrument in her hands, then addressed her. "If you would kindly refrain from making such noise then I would be pleased as I intend to play the piano." He made a sweeping motion to his left as if to indicate a piano being there, despite the clear lack of such a thing. However, anyone who thought he was kidding would soon eat their words as a grand piano was suddenly set down onto a paved area. Seconds later, while Hei was approaching it, a piano seat with a velvet cushion was brought in and he eased himself into the seat. He waited patiently as everything was cleaned off for him, then he put his fingers to the keyboard and began to play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata for the proceeding six and a half minutes before transitioning himself into Greensleeves by mixing the two pieces together for several seconds, the mark of an experienced and talented pianist. During this time, he would be able to talk to anyone as he could both play and speak at the same time.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSUZUME CHIYOKO

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxLoneliness hit me suddenly,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxbut it’s only t h e n that I realized,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxafter all that I have ever DREAMED of,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI really don’t like F I G H T I N G

Suzume had been quiet the entire time, not really bothering to butt into the conversation. She was not someone who preferred getting attention and she liked the silence and not being recognized. Anyway, at the moment, she was really chatting a little with Huang and attempting to get used to the feeling of two zanpakuto on her back. It might have been a little inappropriate but she didn’t really care, as her sister had requested it of her, and on Eli’s wedding day, she would not deny her sister anything. As the only one of their family present, she was wearing something a little more formal today, a knee-length dress. Of course, she looked a little strange, but it was alright. Quietly detaching herself from the group, she wandered away from the festivities, wanting to have a quiet moment to herself. It was then that she noticed the fact that the music from before was much closer to her than before, and that Nu was sitting on a nearby bench. Taking two cups of sake from a servant, she quietly approached the girl, hoping that the Captain wouldn’t run, since she had fled before when her sister had come to visit.

She plopped herself down next to Nu, offering one cup of the sake to the girl. “Here, you look like you need it, Naohito-Taichō,” she told the girl Captain formally before promptly draining most of the contents of the other. Staring at the floor, she plucked up her courage, saying, “I’m sorry if nee-chan makes you feel uncomfortable, that’s her way of telling people that she likes them. I know it’s a little awkward, but nee-chan really does consider you as a very close friend, she’s been telling me that she’s never met someone like you before and she really enjoys the talks.” Swallowing some more of the sake, she continued, “And it’s most likely not proper for me to pry, but are you alright? You look a little shaken.”

"By all means Hei-taichou." She couldn't possibly refuse a chance to hear music and from the bride's father, this seemed like quite a special occasion to see Hei do something other then fight and experiment. Pocketing her bachi carefully, she stares at the others quietly, letting them appreciate Hei's skills with the piano. Before anyone else, it seemed Elisa's sister came to her, sake in hand, most likely for her. Nu nodded in appreciation and downed the cup, listening to the music in silent respect.

Things were going relatively fine for her. The few new acquaintances she made seemed kind enough, and that was most appreciated. However, she wasn't much of a people person at heart, so she was still getting used to talking with people for more then twenty seconds. With a more open smile that suited the Nibantai Taichō somehow, she looks to her friends sister with more curiosity. They seemed alike, yet their personalities were so different. It was then that she realized that Elisa's sister was a drinker, she smelled of sake, which was strange in comparison. Fiddling through her scarf uncharacteristically, she sighs, grabbing another cup from a passing server, downing the drink before he could even take a step further."Ha, I don't blame yer sister for anything....and thanks fer the drink..." Her mind wandered to the moment she left Lee in a hurry. After some thought, she still couldn't treat the man as a choice, he was just too......above her to consider, making her chuckle to herself softly. "Meh, she's a sweet girl, trying to find a man fer me....."

Clapping her hands together, the woman reached into her pocket, pulling out a small box. "I....asked around and I got a gift for Elisa, you wouldn't believe how much trouble it took me to get a gift without being spotted...." Inside was hair sticks, something her eyes caught at a nearby jewelry parlor. She had to use a shunpo to get in, pay, and get out, an act she could never confess to aloud. After giving the girl the gift, she coughs, the small tick in her tocking heart a constant reminder of her mortality. "Me? Shaken?.......Yes, you could say that......"

She didn't know how much to open up to this girl, but it would be rude if she didn't, she was after all the sister of her friend. "Bah, I really don't see a need for men, but after some time with your sister.....she's affecting me..." With a laugh, she sets down her instrument carefully, it has treated her well today. "Blah, romance just gets in the way, I don't need anything like that....." Reaching into her pocket, she pulls out a small kiseru, adjusting it accordingly in her mouth and already smoking out a ring.

xxxAurelius - Infinitus

Since Aurelius had long foreseen this day even before Elisia and Tsukiko had confessed to each other, he was not at all surprised by the wedding. Nevertheless, he put on his best surprised face, if only for the sake of his mistress. Quirking an eyebrow at the number of Shinigami around, the seemingly three-year old Exaequare squeezed into the middle of the throng of Shinigami just after Hei had moved away to play the piano. As he neared Elisia, the earth literally heaved into the air, creating a pseudo-ramp for the little boy to walk up, placing him at eye level with Elisia. "I congratulate you on your wedding and I also extend my best wishes towards you and your wife." Sweeping his small hand in front of his waist, he bent over in a small bow and promptly turned away from the Captain, descending towards the ground. As he did so, the Earth fell back down and reformed the ground flawlessly, making it appear that he had never done anything to it.

Placing his hands into his pockets, the Exaequare couldn't help but pry into the minds of everyone present, an act which soon found him with an abundance of amusing information. The bonds that had prevented him from using his abilities maliciously had been taken off long ago after he had proved himself to be trustworthy. With this in mind, there was nothing preventing him from causing mischief. First and foremost there was the two that liked each other, but were too afraid to say anything; Eriko and Lee. He glanced from Eriko to Lee in rapid succession, and a smirk crossed his face. "You two should seriously consider having a real talk about how you both feel. It's almost saddening that a six year old can express her feelings better and quicker than a guy who is 615, and 400 year old girl. Honestly." Rolling his eyes, he looked at Kyo and stretched out his hand, calling the bottle of serum towards his hand with his telepathic abilities. Once it was nestled between his fingers, he twirled it around, and laughed as a star pattern appeared across his eyes. During this moment, he found out that Zenos Athanasius had obtained Segunda Etapa. "Ah, so that's why he bit you. Makes sense." Chuckling, he returned the bottle to the pocket and looked at Tadashi with an odd glance. "Pitiful..." He said in regards to the emotions he was receiving from the boy.

Eventually his gaze landed on Nu, who had been playing an instrument that he had never seen before. He changed tactics, projecting his thoughts into her mind rather than allow everyone else to hear his words. "So you still pine for little Tomomi, huh? My advice to you is to forget about him, you may never see him again." With a small smirk, he finally looked towards Keizo, doing the same to him as he had done to Nu; projecting his thoughts into the boy's mind. "If you're looking for suspicious activity, try yourself. So uptight during a wedding, it's unnerving." With this, he appeared next to Tsukiko as the afterimage he had left behind in between the Shinigami popped and vanished. He did not want to brag, but his talents had blossomed in the past year. Knowing better than to read Tsukiko's mind, he merely rose into the air as the earth lifted up again until the was eye-level with the girl. "Mistress, I wish you the best of luck in the many years of your life to follow." Bowing to Tsukiko as he had done for Elisia, he turned away as the ground was put back together and simply walked away towards one of the food tables.

Tadashi Sakamoto

9th Division Lieutenant

Tadashi listened until the melody was interrupted yet again by another random person, who sounded an awful lot like Suzume. Sighing, he looked at the direction he had come to his current spot through and decided he didn't feel like going all the way back to the bench overlooking the lake. He also found that walking didn't seem to hold as much appeal anymore.

Edit: Vaguely, he noted Aurelius's voice chiming in his head. He ignored the Exaequare. Tadashi thought it was rather rude of him to both pry into his mind and judge him, but didn't comment back.

Shaking his head, he just decided to go back to doing what he was doing. The only difference in this spot was that it was quieter, which was fine with him. Scanning the area lazily, he found a tree that suited him and rested his back against it. He yawned and took out his sake gourd again, swilling the contents in a circular motion. He was half-tempted to going back to drinking alone, but then he had a bad history with sake whenever he didn't follow his established limit. Grimacing, he remembered the fact that his virginity had been lost while drunk. And there was also the time as an unseated squad member he'd shown up to the investigations building with a heavy hangover and had not been able to help his own squad with their duty - the worst part about that time was that he had been considered second to the 12th Division's and Hibiki's knowledge regarding the Human World. There were also a few other vague memories, but none of them got any pleasanter.

He simply sat there, deciding not to chance drinking any more for today. Rummaging inside his uniform, he hoped to find the current novel from the Human World he had been reading. Tadashi could have sworn he'd left it in his room, but was happily surprised to see he'd had it in his uniform. The title read Catcher in the Rye. Personally, the terminology made little sense to him and he wasn't exactly sure what the significance of the story was, but he knew it was popular (or had been popular) in the Human World. Tadashi just hoped it wouldn't be considered rude by the others that he'd kept this on his person in case he got bored at such an occasion. He was likely in Nu's or Suzume's line of vision as he was now, and passerbys from the small dirt path could easily see him from where he was.

Have you ever encountered such a beautiful melody?

═══════════════════════╕››››››››››››

Kyo didn't outwardly respond to Keizo. He responded, instead with a series of subtle body and eye movements that said: Understood. Feel free to relax and enjoy yourself, but don't let your guard down. Kyo had developed it so that he may speak freely with his lieutenant without anyone else being the wiser to what he was saying. "I see. I haven't had opportunity to partake of the food myself. Perhaps I should go over and get something to eat," he said following a chuckle at Keizo's joke. It was lucky that he'd managed to find a lieutenant capable of putting up with his quirks. A lot of people had left the Hachibantai since Kyo took over on the basis that he was too serious about his position. He was half expecting Keizo to leave too after the numerous false alerts he'd set up to test his mettle and evaluate his psychological state. However, Keizo passed most of Kyo's tests, the collateral damage issue needed to be addressed, with flying colors.

Kyo's attention passed from Keizo back to Elisa as she began to speak. Her words were comforting to him. It was good to know that she had resigned to forgive him. "Thank you Ri...Hakase-Taicho," he said almost failing to remember that her named had changed earlier today. "It is a load off my conscience to hear you say that and per your request I will put it behind me, but I feel I should not forget what happened that night less I be doomed to repeat it." He listened silently to the exchange between her and Keizo before Elisa turned to him once again to offer him access to medical supplies. He knew she was referring to his "condition" and he respected her for being kind enough to state it in such a roundabout manner as to not alert any prying ears that didn't know about his situation, though almost everyone present was aware what he had become.

Kyo opened his mouth to respond, but he felt his coat and shirt suddenly shift as Hei grabbed his collar to inspect the never healing bite holes in his neck. Kyo listened to the man speak, that last statement sticking with him. Whether Hei intended it or not, it seemed that he was saying: You owe me Kyo, so keep your nose out of my damn business. Kyo straightened his color before responding. "It is working like a dream. As to be expected of something of your creation. The response time to it is even faster than I had expected," he flashed a smile at Hei. It wasn't a normal smile however. It was the smile of excitement one would give a crafty rival who had just pulled out an unexpected move.

Kyo had quite enjoyed Hei's impromptu piano concert also. It made him long for the time to play his violin once again, but he had been so busy as of late, that he rarely found a moment to organize his thoughts, much less play the violin. He was not surprised to see Aurelius show up. He had visited many a time before after proving himself to not have any hostile intent. What Kyo was surprised about, however, whats Aurelius' apparent decision to stir up a little trouble for his merriment. Perhaps it was that he had been caught up in the mood of the celebration as well and wanted a little fun. Kyo was not pleased when Aurelius pulled one of his vials of serum out of his pocket, as the pale blue liquid was a precious resource to him. He made sure the cap was still sealed tightly then adjusted and re-buttoned his coat after the vial was returned. He sighed then said, "I think I shall have a bite to eat now. If you'll excuse me." Kyo then smiled an gave a slight bow to the two of them before turning and walking over to the food table where he made a plate with small portions of many of the rare and expensive foods available.

Enjoy it, for surely it is the last thing you will ever hear.

Smirking, Ciel touched the bridge of his glasses once more and returned his fingers to the keys as he completed gathering the information he required at the moment. His former Captain had not changed very much in the long time he had been away from the 12th Division, at least in regards to other people. "Understood, sir." As soon as he was finished with the hologram, Hei stood up, and as he walked away, Ciel waved his hand through the entire hologram, causing it to dispel and collapse back into his glasses. Taking the book from underneath his arm, he turned away from the chair and moved himself towards the large group of Shinigami, so as to make himself less suspicious by being all alone. As he walked, he kept his nose buried on this book, constantly writing as he took in everything around him. as Aurelius spoke, Ciel began writing, taking notes on everything he said and did, down to the exact time he did said things.

Case #356765. The little boy seems considerably confident despite his size. He has just exhibited psychokinetic powers by both lifting the earth beneath him and calling a vial towards his hand. Possible telekinesis as the boy stared for quite a while at both Captain Nu Naohito and Lieutenant Keizo Date. Further investigation is required. Case remains open.

Case #356766. Possible relationship between Captains Masashi Lee and Akiyama Eriko. Nothing much going there except the little boy states that they are somewhat stupid when it comes to matters of the heart. Personal matter, investigation suspended.

Case #356767. In regards to Captain Kyoshiro Kurihara's shift into a vampire. Captain Hakase Hei still treats him with a serum and his bite marks still remain. Regression is entirely possible, so caution must be taken when dealing with him. Case remains open.

What was really impressive was the speed in which he wrote. He was going through an entire line in a second which was remarkably, fast all things considered. His pen was nearly a blur as it flew across the pages of his blank book. When he reached the group, he stopped just far enough so that no one could see what he was writing, and did so without looking up. Once Aurelius had left, Ciel moved his hand to this glasses yet again, but this time tapped the left temple arm with his finger twice, causing the hologram to pop up once more. Ciel held the book up at chest level and went back several pages, stopping where he had started writing about the others. He then moved the book into one hand, holding it open with his fingers so that he could freely manipulate his right hand. Without speaking a word to the others around him, his hand began to fly across the screen, constantly moving images and text that popped up. Every now and then he would scribble something down in his book, but he would quickly go back to the hologram.

Once he was completely done, he snapped the book shut with his hand and waved the hologram away before turning his attention to the group, walking closer as he did so. He stopped several feet away, put on a polite smile, placed his arm across his waist and bent over in a fashionable bow. After pausing for a few seconds, he straightened up, adjusted his glasses, and presented his smile to them once again. "Good afternoon, ladies and gentleman."

ℒiterature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.

Hibiki Kirisho
- Squad Nine Captain -

================================================

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The gods trembled
The demons flocked

As most of the Shinigami present enjoyed the lavish reception, courtesy of the Hakases, Hibiki raced through Soul Society from the nearest Senkaimon towards the venue. He was wearing an all black formal suit with a white dress shirt underneath, accented by a crimson red tie, which while on the way was being fixed and the coat buttoned, but in vain as it became undone with each step he took. Cursing he looked at the time on his wrist watch ”Damn, this is embarrassing.” deciding that he was getting nowhere by simply running and dashing, Hibiki secured his present underneath his coat and began a series of Shunpos towards the venue. After a few seconds, he reached the outskirts of the garden, visibly exhausted.

Wiping the sweat of his face with a handkerchief and combing his hair, Hibiki checked to see if the present was still intact. Holding it in his hands and carefully removing the cover, Hibiki breathed a sigh of relief to see that it was unharmed. Seeing as how Hibiki had spent a fair amount of money to purchase the gift, he would’ve been distraught and traumatized if it were to become broken or damaged on the way. The gift itself was a dual-designed photo frame, a combination of two frames, held together on adjacent sides so that they close in one another. Not one to spend money on presents of no real use, Hibiki made sure that there was also a clock at the top of the intersection and a digital calendar of sorts at the bottom, both of which remain stationary while the two frames fold in and out. The entire device is made of polished wood and most, but not all of the designs are engraved with silver, while the letters are engraved in gold reading under each frame “Tsukiko Hakase”, “Elisia Hakase”and behind each of the frames “Through life and death”, “Together through time.” Finally, and a bit anticlimactically, the entire present is wrapped in plain old gift wrap, with a note attached reading “To Elisia and Tsukiko Hakase, best of wishes to both of you. Fr. Hibiki.”

After having read the note, Hibiki gave off a soft sigh. Though he wasn’t against the marriage, it was still odd for him to know that Elisia and Tsukiko was to be married to one another, seeing as how they were both female. Though, then again, it was their business, not his, in fact, he supposed he should just be thankful they actually invited him along, seeing as how he was more or less in bad terms with Hei. But, then again, Hei was the only Hakase he had a problem with, so he found no problem spending a pretty penny to buy a gift for his daughter and her spouse. Hearing the sounds of a piano being played rather skillfully, Hibiki smirked that they actually had enough spare change to hire a pianist for the reception. After dusting himself off and making sure he was proper, he started walking towards the area where the piano was being played, guessing that it was most likely where either Elisia or Tsukiko would be, he was willing to come across anyone right now, save for Hei, which would seem ironic given that he was the pianist he was referring to.

Masashi, Lee, Gobantai Taichō

"Telling me to go. But hands beg me to stay. Your lips say that you love. Your eyes say that you hate. There's truth in your lies. Doubt in your faith. What you build you lay to waste. There's truth in your lies. Doubt in your faith. All I've got's what you didn't take. So I, I won't be the one. Be the one to leave this. In pieces. And you, you will be alone. Alone with all your secrets. And regrets, don't lie. You promised me the sky. Then tossed me like a stone. You wrap me in your arms. And chill me to the bone. There's truth in your lies. Doubt in your faith. All I've got's what you didn't take."

Lee gave a slight nod to Kyo as the other Captain addressed Nu and him for a moment before going off to congratulate Elisia. That was something he still had to do himself but he would get to it in do time when she wasn't so surrounded by people. Shrugging at Nu's question of the event being pleasant he supposed it was if he really had to say something about it. It wasn't really all that surprising to them that they could find happiness yet at the same time it seemed like happiness never seemed to last.
"I don't find it all that surprising. I just always have to wonder how long such happiness can possibly last..." Lee waited for the answer to his question but her hesitation was quite surprising to him causing him to raise an eyebrow at her. "I see...well I do not think you need to go changing your behavior now Nu-taichō. You are fine just the way you are and changing to fit someone else's idea of proper behavior is never something I myself would do."

It didn't really surprise him all that much that it was Elisia that was pestering Nu into such things. The woman meant well and just wanted everyone to be happy something Lee could see easily enough but the way she went about it on the other hand was odd. More hesitation? Wow Elisia must have been getting to her more than Lee initially thought causing him to stop for a moment listening to her answer. Maybe there was an even deeper reason behind the hesitation? Perhaps she had a point on the matter yet at the same time that should not be the only reason one shies away from such things. "I agree with you that it can lead to dangerous situations, but running away from such things for only that reason is not the right thing either Nu-taichō. We have the right to an actual life outside of work as well as anybody else Nu-taichō..." After he finished speaking Lee closed his eyes for a moment unsure if the last bit was only for her benefit or for his own as well. Though it still left something that needed to be cut down for such things and the nightmares had volunteered sleep for himself.

Lee nodded at Nu's thanks opening his eyes to look at her and to hopefully help cheer her up gave only a slightly forced smile. The wetness of her eyes was something that caught Lee completely off guard and slightly shocked as she abruptly left leaving her scarf behind. Letting out a small sigh Lee bent down and picked the scarf up setting it down on the table gently before having a seat himself and laying his head back. Lee could feel the presence of Eriko nearby but it was few moments before the woman appeared at his right side. Putting his elbow on the arm of the chair he rested his head against his fist closing his eyes. No words were exchanged as Eriko took a seat across from him setting down a plate between them. Opening up his eyes to gaze at her from across the table Lee let out a soft sigh then shook his head no.
"I am not really in the mood for something to eat at the moment. The gesture is appreciated though."

Taking a look around again Aurelius' voice soon drifted towards him causing Lee to give the seemingly young boy a sideways glance. While Aurelius' words were entirely true at the same time Lee had already expressed how he felt during their talk a year ago. The feelings had naturally strengthened some but mostly he felt the exact same about her. Perhaps it was time to define things but at the same time Nu's previous words floated back into his mind and he wondered if it was the right thing to do. Such thoughts had been there before it was spoken out loud by Nu yet hearing them from someone else made him hesitant. Turning his gaze to Eriko Lee figured he would wait for the other Captain to say something before he did so himself. He wasn't going to be the one to speak their feelings out loud this time at least not first. Not to mention such a location was not the best for such talks in his mind at least. If they were going to move forward it needed to be a mutual agreement.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSUZUME CHIYOKO

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxLoneliness hit me suddenly,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxbut it’s only t h e n that I realized,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxafter all that I have ever DREAMED of,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI really don’t like F I G H T I N G

Suzume finished off the rest of her drink, looking at and listening to Nu. Although she moved to accept the gift, she stayed quiet until Nu finally finished, before taking out a kiseru and smoking. Tilting her head upwards, she gazed upwards at the sky. It seemed that everyone had their problems, no matter who they were or what they were like. Maybe it was about time that she socialized a little bit more, but perhaps not with men. Her feminist side always came out around them and it wasn’t always very pleasant to see that. So far, she was only really ‘close’ to one male, and that was a very strange relationship. Whacking herself on the head for a short while, she also took another cup from the server, drinking it a little slower. She had already lost count of how much she had drunk, but it was alright, there was still a long while before she became completely intoxicated. Turning to Nu, she replied, “Romance does get in the way…I know. Nee-chan has tried to get me to do all that too, but I always seem to be getting angry around guys for one reason or another. You sure that you don’t want romance? Sometimes, it might be a nice break, especially if you find your true love or whatever.”

She gestured to the entire estate in one deliberate movement, “Nee-chan never really used to be like this, until she fell in love with Tsukiko-fukutaichō. It’s funny to see how little things can make such a big difference, right?” Swallowing the contents of her second cup, she kicked her legs a little, to ward off the pins and needles that she could feel coming on. “Sometimes like now, I think romance would be good, but sometimes, it would be pretty troublesome. What happens if you get married and the other person isn’t what you expected? It’s so confusing, maybe everything might be easier if we didn’t have it.” She sighed, before carefully storing Nu’s gift away. “Anyway, on behalf of my sister, I’d like to say thank you, she’ll love it.” Recalling some distant memory of her last talk with her sister, she giggled slightly, before turning back to Nu. “And if I were you, I’d attempt to avoid going into her quarters too often. She told me that she ordered some new outfits and that she’s going to get you into them no matter what. Frilly with ribbons and all that girly stuff…good luck with that.”

Elisia involuntarily flinched as Hei approached them. Despite the fact that she was his daughter’s wife, whom was apparently as scary as her father, she was still not used to the manner in which Hei arrived and the way he worked in. As Hei exposed Kyo’s bite marks to anyone close enough, she stayed still, unsure of what to do. One part of her wanted to immediately cover them again, but she could not go against her father-in-law. Luckily, he covered Kyo’s bite marks before she had to make any sort of decision. Unfortunately, she had not been able to heal those marks as it would apparently not seal up, due to the vampire venom. When she had the time, she should really see if she could find some sort of way to at least, cover the bite marks. Her hand automatically twitched at her side, about to rummage in her pouch for some sort of bandage to cover it up, when she remembered the fact that she had not taken her pouch with her, since it would have looked extremely strange to be wearing a Japanese-styled wedding gown while clutching her old worn pouch. She felt a little lost without it and her zanpakuto too. Her zanpakuto was in the possession of her sister, who most likely looked very strange, carrying two weapons at a wedding. For some strange reason, she did not feel like leaving her zanpakuto and thus, its spirit behind. Huang seemed to be able to get along with Zume pretty well, for one reason or another.

Motioning to the nearby servant, she whispered in his ear, “Pardon me, but could you please go and fetch my pouch? I left it where I was changing for the wedding. Thank you very much.” As he left, she drew several deep breaths, gathering all the courage that she had. It was time that she finally thanked Hei for this entire wedding and ask him one last favour. Nodding to Kyo, who had just left, and pulling an apologetic face at Keizo, she regretfully told him, “Excuse me, I must go thank Hakase Hei-Taichō for this wedding. I’m sorry for leaving you so suddenly…I’m sure that your Captain most likely wants you.” She had been about to go and thank Hei, when to her surprise, Aurelius arrived, in his three-year-old body this time, to congratulate. Finding herself at a loss of words, due to the fact that he was looking so young yet acting so mature, she choked out, “Oh, thank you very much…” Hiding her embarrassment as well as she could, she took several strides to move next to the piano. Bowing her head in politeness, she stammered, “Hakase Hei, I just wanted to thank you for this entire wedding. I do not know the expense of the wedding, but I am sure that this cost quite a bit of money. Thank you very much for everything, and I will try to repay you as much as I can…” she paused briefly, unsure of how to phrase her next statement. “I know that you have already done so much for us, but…may I ask one favour of you? There is a problem that I need to rectify, and I need your help in doing it.” He definitely had many reasons to refuse her request, but she needed to ask him personally. While she could have gone to Tsukiko herself, it was a problem that she wished to fix on her own, not to mention, she knew that Hei himself already had the solution.

She had been concentrating so hard on Hei that she had barely registered Hibiki’s presence until now. Blinking slightly as she looked at him, she quickly forced her mind back into alertness, smiling at the other Captain. While she wasn’t exactly very well-acquainted with him, it would do no harm to be friendly, right? Noticing the fact that his coat seemed to be unbuttoned, she leaned over, carefully buttoning up his coat. It was merely a force of habit and she only realized how strange it was when she had finished. Withdrawing her hands quickly, she clasped them in front of her, tilting her head to one side. “Kirisho-Taichō, it’s nice to see you again. You’re doing well, I hope?”

"Why couldn't my wedding have been this nice?! If only you had been rich..." An exasperated female voice permeated his ears as the image of the girl who called herself his wife appeared next to him. She had fallen into his stride as he traversed the excessively large garden, making his way towards his Captain while doing his best not to go insane due to the clothes he was wearing. "Well excuse me, princess! I apologize for being so middle class!" Nanashi shot back, without even a hint of anger in his voice. They had graduated, in a sense, from being so distant to one another, to an actual couple who got along very well, and occasionally got into a playful argument. Ever since he had struck up a deal with Tsukiko to examine his dream state and memories, he and this girl, whose name he had learned to be Aika had accepted each other and now lived with the fact that she was always in his head. Aika had not come without her perks, for one thing, she was exceptionally generous when it came to being "eye-candy" for Nanashi, who could not touch her most of the time, and she was also very physical when she could be touched. He would not lie, he did like that.

Another perk she had brought with her arrival was that she had finally decided to address him by his real name, Seiichi, which had taken some getting used to. However, he had not revealed this to anyone else, so he was still being referred to as Nanashi by everyone. Aika reached across her chest to thump the left side of Nanashi's head before she wrapped her arms around Nanashi's right arm and essentially hugged it tightly while they walked. Since his arm was trapped, he could hardly rub where he got flicked, so he simply ignored the slightly annoying pang of being flicked and continued along towards his Captain. Once he arrived at her location, he bowed politely, then sat down Indian style next to her. He didn't feel the need to exchange words as of yet, granting her a simple nod of his head, then watching as Aika sat down in his lap. Naturally, as Aiki was inside his head only, Asami would be unable to see her.

Tadashi Sakamoto

9th Division Lieutenant

Tadashi Sakamoto didn't really consider himself to be a particularly sensitive person. At least, not anymore. Yet, as he heard Suzume speak about romance and such, he started feeling even more uncomfortable. He found that Holden Caulfield's words became unnaturally blurry as he tried to continue reading. Blinking a few times, he took another deep breath and decided that he couldn't sit there anymore. He hurriedly replaced J.D Salinger's master work into his shihakushō and stood on his feet. He looked up at the clear blue sky through the tree's branches before shaking his head and walking back to the dirt path.

However, as the main area's party came into view, he suddenly remembered he'd misplaced his gourd back at the tree. Tadashi turned his head back and checked his person one more time before resigning himself back the way he came. He found the gourd laying innocently against the tree as he had done about a minute ago. He made to pick it up, on the way stepping on a twig or branch or some form of wood that caused an annoying snapping sound. Not really paying attention to it, he picked up the gourd and began to once more move away, still in clear view of Nu or Suzume.

Edit: Deciding he should probably look to see if Hibiki was back, Tadashi went back to the main party and scanned the crowd for him. Noticing a scarlet-colored tie stand out, he looked at its owner and saw it to be his Captain. Now that he thought about it, Hibiki might know a bit about the Salinger novel he was trying to decode, so it may be more of an excuse to talk to him rather than just to say hello. He walked over to the Captain who was heading towards Tsukiko...who's father played a surprisingly good piano. However, it didn't really have that haunted beauty that had punctuated Nu's music.

Just as she was about to answer, a familiar voice rang out. Tracing the voice, it was easy enough to find him, though this time in his younger body. She brushed off the statement between Lee and Eriko long enough for her mind to receive his other message, something that made her frown. But I wasn't....... Before she could speak out in turn, Aurelius turned his head, most likely to pry into other people's minds. Sighing, she turned her head back to Suzume, as she was talking. Her true love huh? She never really gave it much thought actually, her image of the ideal man was silhouetted in blackness as it never really bothered her before. Still, now that she had the mindset to think about it, she supposed the man should be cool, calm, and collected. To gain so much trust in one another that they could discuss so deeply.....she doubted that what was she was looking for, but who knows?

As Suzume got up, Nu did as well, stretching her legs would be a good idea instead of sitting around and drinking. "Heh, thanks fer the advice Suzume, see ya around..." Waving her off, she blends back into the crowd again, randomly spying on passerby, an old pastime of hers. It was there that she was stopped by a woman who was strolling by. She was dressed in traditional garb that shrine maidens frequently wore and while she looked like a part of the crowd, she was actually only visible to Nu, casting a questionable stare into the Captain. "Care to chat?" She spoke in a soft voice, s soothing voice to equal out to Nu's usual gruffness with things. Taking a seat by a tree, she offers Nu one before fanning herself with a small paper fan she seemingly pulled out from her sleeve, though no wind came from it.

Seemed everyone wanted to chat today with her. Taking the seat, she stares into the lights of the party. Everyone was having such a good time, as they should. Chatting, socializing, it was all in good fun, but that wasn't what Nu liked as Tenka observed over the years. "It was sweet of you to give her those hair sticks, you didn't mention they were limited edition and you wanted them." Hiding her face behind her mouth, it was hard to read her, but Nu didn't need to see such a profile to know her personality. "Bah, better her then me, I don't need them..." Giving her spirit a deft look, she instinctively reaches for her scarf, an automatic comfort zone for her, before she realized that it wasn't around her neck anymore.

"Over there and that blonde boy was right you know..." Pointing with a closed fan to a pair of people, it took Nu a moment to realize that Lee was currently holding on to it, meaning it wasn't getting dirty at the very least. "You still have hope for that man, but let's face it he's..." Before she could finish she was silenced by her master with a shaking hand, Nu's eyes hidden behind her bangs. She seemed rather weak now, her usual air of cruelty dissipating and revealing that deep down, Nu still had feelings, and they could be hurt like anyone else's. "I thought if I got stronger.....I could save him, but we never found him, we still don't know where he is....." Tomomi was a man who came the closest at unraveling her, and when he was kidnapped, Nu was forced to bind herself back together again, a process that took months to complete. "I know he's not messing with me.....he knows how Tomomi is, and if he is warning me now then...." The saddened girl felt an arm around her as the older miko held her gently. Technically, she couldn't feel weight behind Tenka's arm, but she gratefully accepted the gesture, shaking off any negative feelings before she actually wept for anyone.

"Not like you're alone in this....."
With a finger bringing Nu's face to the crowds again, she was pointing out individuals. Elisa, who was awkwardly thanking Hei, in a style that only Elisa could. Suzume, walking about and socializing, at least brave enough to start looking. "Oh thank the boy Mitsuru, it's not going to kill you!~" With a friendly slap on the back, Nu rises up quickly, wiping her dry face with a sleeve before nodding, trying to find that little telepath near the food tables, her eyes trying to find a boy of such a stature.
