Tommy finally managed to get to the place of the prom. He cussed at himself for being so late, "Stupid tux shop...." He said to himself, the reason he was late is the place he had got his tux for the prom, apparently lost his original tux, so he had to get a new one, it was a teensy bit small, but he hoped no one would notice. He scanned the crowd, looking for Tehra, he hoped she wouldn't be to angry, "Man..where is she..." He said to himself looking around the crowd.

After a cheerful greeting and a "you look nice", Alma nearly fell over. As she quickly regained her balance, the goth turned and saw the pink-haired Tehra smiling and walking up to her... This ruined any plans of running away to one of the less open rooms. "Um," Alma mumbled, still surpised," Hi, Tehra... I'm good... Don't you a date with, uh, Tommy?" She tinted her head. There was still a chance that she might be able to get away... Hopefully.

"Yeah, we're fine... It's just that some stupid broad who we got into a fight with and dropped out of school is here..." Jay muttered back to Cael. The potentially bad news had put her off her appetite, though the smell of a meal about to be served filled the air. Cait and Jay leaned back in their chairs, rolling their eyes. "She might try to start something with us again, it's only been a month since the fight and she hasn't been since since then. She's here with that boy Austin. Have you met him yet?" Cait asked, expecting that he had. The popular crowd always seemed to be looking for new converts to corrupt. Cait hoped the night would still go smoothly, regardless of Rowena's presence. Unfortunately, they were in Delmor, and went to a small school that had an even smaller prom. Avoiding Rowena and remaining unseen by her was almost out of the question. Especially given the spectacle Cait and Jay had been causing with their duct tape dresses. As people started to flood the prom, the requests for pictures had become more and more frequent. Rowena would almost certainly be looking out for Channel Q news or the yearbook photographer, and Cait and Jay were more than likely to get attention from both. Still, the two girls hoped somehow the drama from the aftermath of their rivalry would somehow miraculously quiet down. Cait sighed and took a sip of the drink Cael had handed her. It was then that Cait noticed a girl in a blue dress storming over to their table. Uh-oh... This is not going to end well...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The air had seemed to shimmer around Rowena for a moment, proving the night to be almost magical. After being snubbed by Channel Q news, Rowena was more than a little miffed when Austin sketched out and left her to follow some nobody off to the drink table. Instead of taking it personally, however, Rowena shrugged it off. Delmor, and therefore DUHS, was the land of people with more money than they knew what to do with, and it didn't surprise her that Austin had picked up drug use. She wondered what his drug of choice was, and if he had any more on him. Rowena wasn't picky. As one of the more popular girls in school Rowena had been invited to her fair share of parties and therefore dabbled in her fair share of substances. There had to be a way to get herself back on top, and a good hit might be just what would get her really thinking, or loosen her up enough to be taken seriously. When Austin returned, he had a funny look in his eyes, like his head hurt or something. "I'm sure he is bizarre, I've never seen him around before." Rowena paused, Austin was a decent guy, but he'd most certainly recognize the lingo, "Hey, Austin, what's the spice? Got a spot to share?" Disclaimer

Cael figured Cait was talking about the girl Rowena, who he had never met, and figured he'd best not push the subject, which was ok because at this moment he decided that they needed more shrimp. Standing to leave, he caught the expression on Cait's face. She seemed nervious, again, about something behind Cael. Before he could inquire this time though, he got his answer when an all to familiar voice called out over the music, "You b*****d!" Cael didn't even have to turn to see who it was, and in retrospect it was a bad choice that he did, but when he turned around he didn't see Serenity's scowling face. The only thing he saw was her fist a split second before she punched him in the face. Cael was knocked off his feet in slow motion. The kind of slow motion reserved for an action movie with no plot. He landed on his back, stuned and took a moment before opening his eyes. *** Serenity put as much of her anger as she could muster into that one punch. Her hand actually hurt a little bit after. Cael haddn't moved from his place on the ground yet, but she knew he would be ok. That had been the hardest she had ever hit him, but it certainly wasn't the first time. He would get over it. Serenity took a deep breath and let it out slowly, releasing the rest of her anger. She walked over to the table, keeping Cael's body between her and his date. Serenity knew it was a bad first impression to make but she would find a way to make amends. She was alittle shocked at how pretty Cael's date was and the duct tape dress fit her well. 'See?' she thought to herself, 'I knew he could do it.' She turned and hopped up onto the table to sit, allowing her converse-clad feet to swing slowly back and forth under the table as she waited for Cael to get up. *** Cael groaned, finally deciding to move. He rubbed his nose with one hand, trying to make the pain go away. Opening his eyes he saw a pair of blue converse hanging over him. 'Only one girl I know would wear converse to the prom and punch me in the face,' he thought. Looking up further he saw Serenity's warm smile looking down at him. "Hi Serenity," was all he could bring himself to say, in a defeated voice.

Violet continued to pout for several minutes before quickly getting bored with being ignored (of course, the fact that she was gifting nausea to anyone who strayed too close to her didn't help her situation much). Forgetting or perhaps not caring that he was a robot, she began attempting to strike up a conversation with Mr. Sparky. "You like me, don't you, Mr. Sparky?" she asked, looking up at him with her mismatched eyes. Mr. Sparky spluttered out a few lines of binary. "I bet they'd like me if I had a long shiny dress," Violet continued. "It would be the color of the dreams you have when you're not quite asleep. I used to know how to see people's thoughts through their dreams, you know, only then I forgot how, so now I can just smell them. My dreams smell like pineapple pancake batter and plastic cigars. What smells do you dream in, Mr. Sparky?" Mr. Sparky twitched, a small spasm in his hastily-crafted circuitry. "I like you, Mr. Sparky," said Violet, standing up to look the robot in what could be classified as its face. "You're shiny and you make funny sounds. You can be my date, okay? And all the other girls will look at me and they'll be all jealous because their dates aren't shiny and pointy and they don't make funny jumpy motions when they dace. Okay, Mr. Sparky?" If Mr. Sparky understood, in his clunky microchip brain, he made no indication. With a squeal of delight, Violet gripped Mr. Sparky by what were likely his arms and began to spin him around to the tune of the song in her head.

Violet paused and blinked up at Oual for a second, her hands still holding onto Mr. Sparky. She seemed confused by his addressing her, as if she had forgotten that she was not in the privacy of her own home. "I was lonely because I forgot something and nobody was talking to me because I don't have a shiny dress like the other girls so Mr. Sparky made funny jumpy motions and I told him my dreams smell like something and something else," Violet said, releasing Mr. Sparky and reciting this in one fluid sentence. "Mr. Sparky said he would be my date because all the other people will be jealous of him because he's sharp and funny and shiny." Violet paused for a second, blinking up into Oual's face with the expression of a girl lost in her own mind. "What's a killjoy?" she asked, cocking her head to one side.

"I don't think I have one," Violet answered, and it was the truth; she didn't have a birth certificate or anything to prove that she had been named by anyone. "But sometimes when I talk to myself in my head I call myself 'Violet'. The lady who drives me places calls me that too, and so does the man I live with who isn't my dad even though he tells me to treat him like he is."

Tehra nodded at Alma as she asked her about Tommy. "Yeah I am, but I don't quite know where he got to." She said as she looked around, brushing her hair away from her faces. "Did you ditch your date?" she asked simply, though she was getting the vibe that Alma wanted to be left alone, as Alma sometimes did. The girl was nice, but Tehra knew by now that she needed her time. Tehra looked around once more, hoping to find Tommy. She was gonna be pissed if she was ditched. But luckily, and to her surprise, she caught sight of a sharp looking Tommy. She turned to Alma with a smile. "I just found him... I think I had better go let him know...." Tehra looked at Alma, pretending she was being apologetic when really she knew she was doing Alma a favor. "I'll catch up with you later..." Tehra turned and bounded across the dance floor, soon finding her way to Tommy. "Hey..... you are a bit late my friend...." She smirked at him, joking around. Tehra wasn't upset- she was too relieved to be.

Tommy jumped a bit when Don spoke to him, he turned, "Oh uh hi." He rummaged into his pocket and held up his ticket, "There.." He said smiling nervously. Tommy frowned, not able to find her, he thought she had ditched her since he was so late. He jumped a bit, hearing her speak from behind him. He turned and was awestruck by her appearance, she looked amazing, "Oh, there you are...um sorry about being late...a mess at the tux shop." He said chuckling nervously, a bit more nervous than normal. He stuttered and then remembered, "o..Oh yeah, here." He said holding out a rose he had picked from the garden near his house, "It...um hand picked, sorry I didn't get more..I didn't know who owned the bush."

Tehra laughed lightly. She found his nervousness quite cute. She took the rose with a smile. "It's alright. You remembered, and that's what matters..." she pulled another rose from her small evening bag, pinning it to his lapel. "There now you are complete. Sorry to hear about the mix up. That's why girls buy their dresses, no mix ups.." Tehra took his hands in hers, meeting his eyes with her own teal ones, an infectious smile across her lips. "Since you are so late, I do believe you owe me a dance...." Tehra then proceeded to lead him to the dance floor.

Tommy swallowed hard, looking into her eyes, "..Um..you look beautiful.." He finally managed to say. A nervous chuckle escaped him again and he smiled, his hands in hers, "Um..Ok..though im not a very good dancer." Tommy said, though it probably wasn't a big shocker. He followed her to the dance floor.

"Ah no one thinks they dance very well..." She said with a grin, moving with the beat of the music. "And thank you, you look very handsome yourself..." Tehra smiled at him, continuing to dance. "So anything interesting going on in the downtown lately?" She asked, referring to the fact that he was the golden bullet, though those around them wouldn't know what she was talking about.
