The Seaside Manor has been converted into the Prom location of the century. The outside is full of white lanterns that cast just enough light without revealing anything that might be going on in the bushes. The area is half-heartedly patrolled by chaperones who really don't care what the kids do as long as "nobody gets hurt." There is a long red carpet leading up into the manor where a Channel Q news crew is interviewing incoming prom goers.
Inside, the stage has been set up in between the two staircases that border the main hall. To the immediate left, photographers have set up in a mud room seemingly designed for giants. Student are encouraged to hang out in the stage area for the time being, but they are allowed to wander about the halls of the structure (to an extent; some corridors are roped off. The third floor corridor on the right-hand side, in particular, is out of bounds to anyone who doesn't want to die a particularly painful death). Many to most of the doors are locked as well. The rooms open to the students include a Grand Study, two Master Bathrooms ("Ladies" and "Gentlemen"), a Dining Room, and a handful of Guest Bedrooms.
In addition to the Chaperones, B.A.N.D.'s own security silently watches. By which I mean 13ROY units noisily clank around spouting broken sentences and nonsensical sci-fi references.
((ooc: As I made this, I realized none of my characters are ready for prom yet. My goal is to have them in by the end of this weekend. Until then, feel free to wander in.))

They had never even seen the Seaside Manor before. Cait and Jay had lived in Delmor their entire lives, and they had never before seen the Manor. To pull of the driveway into the drop-off point was breathtaking, with impeccable landscaping and perfectly pruned hedges, the building was a sight to see. The manor was far bigger than Cait had ever imagined it to be, and she couldn't wait to see what it would look like lit up against the night sky as they were leaving prom. The weather was perfect, and with a backdrop of stars the view would be amazing.
For Cait, the night had already proved to be far more interesting than she could have dreamed. The week leading up to the prom had been far busier than she intended, with last minute additions and plans for the dresses things had almost all fallen apart on them. Luckily with the addition of a skipped day of school and permission to work on the dresses in theater class, things had gotten done. Cait and Jay had even had time to make shoes, purses, and earrings out of duct tape for themselves. Cait and Jay had made their own corsages out of duct tape as well, which was a good thing because Cael had forgotten to get her one. It was no matter, she'd made his boutineer out of duct tape as well.
He had picked her up, as requested, at her house on his ATV at 5 PM sharp. Dress in hand they traveled to the Marina together and met Jay and her boyfriend. Jay and Cait helped themselves into their duct tape dresses and came out for photographs. Though Jay had asked them to come in the car with her, Cait was insistent on the ATV. The dress was made of duct tape, and she had a few extra rolls on her just in case something happened to the dress. The feeling of wind blowing through her hair would keep her cool anyway, and as it was prom season and she was wearing duct tape the idea of not getting heat stroke was pretty appealing.
Though they didn't show up until the prom had been started for about ten minutes, the four of them were among the first to arrive at prom. They scooted in quietly to turn in their tickets at the front check-in table, successfully avoiding the breathalizer test (though they didn't exactly have anything to worry about there anyway). They skipped pictures (for now) and found a table to plunk themselves in the dining hall, where most people seemed to be headed. Dinner was supposed to be served at 7:30, and Cait and Jay were starving. They hadn't eaten all day just to get into their dresses, and carrying around thirty pounds of duct tape was exhausting work...

<< Previously at the Twin Bells Cait seemed to be enjoying herself, and this made Cael happy. He really had no idea how to react to the feeling. It was a little weird when the girls went off on their own to do things like work on their dresses because Cael was then left alone to exchange in awkward small talk with Jay's boyfriend Dan, but Cael didn't mind so much. Cait had turned down the offer of a ride in a car for Cael's ATV and that made him happy too. Cael got parking near the door since they were one of the first groups to arive. He pulled the tarp for his ATV out of the compartment under the seat and covered it up. Inside they grabed a table in the dining room and waited for the main events to start, like dinner. In the mean time all there was to do was mingle with the people who had shown up. Cael excused himself from the table and wandered over to the ordurves. Gathering up a few mounted platefulls, he balanced two plates on his arms and carried four drinks back to the table. He was happy that he had gotten to the punch before anyone else had. Returning to the table he anounced, "Food anyone?"

Profile Violet came prancing into the building, completely ignorant of the people outside trying to speak with her. Her date--a nice enough Junior boy in a dark blue suit--came slinking behind and ran immediately to the bathroom. Violet didn't seem to notice or care, in fact she had already let the fact that she had even come here with another person slip her mind entirely. Violet was dressed in a pale pink tutu with a forest green tie swinging around her neck. She wore an elegant white glove that extended to the elbow on her left arm, but the right arm was coated with clunky plastic jewelry. One shoe was a black hi-top Converse sneaker, the other was a bright blue rain boot with red lobsters on it, and the difference in height between the two shoes made Violet's steps uneven. Violet didn't seem phased by the building's interior. She was off in her own little world as she skipped over to where a sparse collection of prom-goers were pouring punch for themselves. "Do they have anything that tastes like ruby crocodiles and leather balloons?" Violet asked a boy who was filling his plate near her. He paused for a second to raise an eyebrow of what was probably the single dumbest question he had heard all evening.

Rowena was pleased with how uneventful the night had gone so far, but then again, things had only just begun. He had brought her flowers, and picked her up in a limo. She knew it was expensive, but Austin's family had a lot of money and he was probably looking to impress her. He looked good in his tuxedo, and they matched quite well. Now all she had to do was make sure everyone knew she was there. Rowena carefully eyed the Channel Q newscasters as they made their way up to the Seaside manor. They were easily recognizable, there were only so many employees of the news station for such a small island. There had to be a way to get an interview. Rowena wasn't dead, and she would have her DUHS territory back. The reclamation would start tonight. She hooked her arm around Austin's elbow and walked, head held high, into the manor, following him into the main dining area. She would stay quiet for now, but sooner or later she'd make her grand entrance one way or another.... The plotting ended when Austin interrupted her with a question about carbonated awesomeness in a bottle, "Oh my god, I LOVE Hank!" At the other end of the dining hall, Cait's eyes doubled in size at the food that Cael brought back to the table. "I knew you were good for something!" Cait teased and helped Cael put things down on the table they'd camped out at. "I don't think i could ever be coordinated enough to carry that much... Not to mention my habit of falling asleep. Did you ever work in food service?" Cait and Cael still barely knew one another, but Cait was enjoying the process. He was a good friend, and so far he'd been a blast to hang out with. She picked up a vegetable dumpling off the plate and popped it in her mouth. Everything about it was delicious, the texture was soft, the taste not too salty, and the vegetables just slightly al dente. "Wow, they really splurged on food, didn't they?" Jay fidgeted nervously in her chair as Cait and Cael babbled on. Things hadn't been going so well between she and her boyfriend, he'd been getting pushier as of late, more clingy, and increasingly jealous of the time she spent with other people. It was a nightmare... And yet, they'd put on a brave face and come to prom together, mostly because coming in two by two was the only way to get to prom this year. Stupid date requirement... Plus, it was only a matter of time before people showed up and figured out that Cait and Jay were in duct tape dresses. Then the fawning would begin and she'd have to have her picture taken with every ninny who she'd hated for the entirety of her grade school career. Why did I let Cait talk me into this again? Ugh, I really should have worn a different dress....

Cael placed the food and drinks on the table for everyone to pick at and stuck his tongue out at Cait. He removed his jacket before taking his seat. "Not really, but I helped a friend out a few times at her job," Cael responded. "She worked in an ice cream parlor and I would bring people their food when she was really busy." He had made it his job to try and show her the best night of her life, even if he really didn't believe he knew how or had the ability to. "About time people stated to fill this place up. I was getting worried that we would have the dance floor to ourselves and my second left foot would show, not that it wont anyway. But now I can blame it on Jock Johnson stepping on my foot." He laughed and reached into his jacket pocket to pull out his secret stash. Twisting off the cap and raising the amber bottle to his lips, Cael drank deeply of the nectar. Finishing his indulgence, he let out a sigh and proclaimed, "Hank is good to me."

The ride over to prom had been enjoyable. James Cross could tell that Oual was trying to make him forget about the PU incident and frankly, Oual was doing a great job with it. While in the car, James of course got shot-gun, Don told humorous stories, many of them involving Oual and James's liking for Don increased with every story. Don seemed to look like a very cool guy. He looked like someone James wouldn't mind hanging with. They got to prom in no time and it looked like only some kids were arriving. James, Don, and Oual had gotten there relatively early and only a handfull of students seemed to be wandering around the glorious mansion.
They all got out of the car and James was free to take a look around and see what some of the helpful and unhelpful elements of this prom would be. Obviously the biggest element was the size of this place. It was huge. Far more expansive than any prom James had ever went to in his not too long ago adolesence. James entered the stage room and saw tables and chairs everywhere, with a couple of students dotted around, many of them just hanging out and some eatting. One couple that stuck out to James was a boy in a grayish tux and a girl in an elegant white dress.
James had noticed a single picture on Oual's desk at the station of this boy. He knew there was a resemblance. James did not know the boy's name or relation to Oual, but James had never taken Oual as the married type, so it probably wasn't a son. James looked at the boy's date. James could not help it, even if she was a little younger than himself, the girl looked absolutely stunning. She had to have been a crowd pleaser to many of the guys... at least James certainly thought so. He made a mental note on what she looked like and moved on scanning other people.
While scanning, his sights came across something that made him jump and quickly move out of sight. He saw the boy who had totally played James like a fool and ditched him at the PU. This was the boy that had made the water explode. He was at the prom with two beautiful looking ladies and another guy, who looked sort of pompous and arrogant. James Cross swore out loud. He needed some answers to his messed up life and for some reason James thought this boy had them. Besides the two heroes that had helped James out, this boy was the only other person he had met with powers.
What if this boy knew Mr. Wyong? Was this a conspiracy going on? James needed answers and he decided that sometime tonight he would question this boy to see if he had any.

Tehra LeVerryn entered the prom. Life had been interesting here in Delmor. Tommy, her date, she knew to be a superhero, and he knew her to be a super hero. Perhaps it was good that they ended up here together, arriving at the same time to control anything that B.A.N.D would try. The fallen angel was on edge, but she hoped the pulse of the music and the surrealness of the prom would override her anxiousness any moment now. Tehra was a vision in her gold and white flowing dress, her simple ribbons and her perfect curls. Tehra hadn't intentionally tried to be this lovely, but everything came together much better than expected. She probably had her fallen angel tutor to thank for part of it, for he knew what worked together. Damien was here too, having found a date easily among the high school girls. She was comforted by his presence, his strength. She wandered into the main room, taking in the lovely sights of the swirling dresses and handsomely cleaned up men. She hoped Tommy would want to dance, but if he didn't, Tehra could most likely get a dance with Damien, though dancing was not at the forefront of her mind. It was B.A.N.D., and their plans. Damien had arrived a while before Tehra, but he saw her enter. His date was a normal girl, pretty, and lovely for the evening. She was interesting to talk to, though he was much more concerned with everything else. Damien hoped she wouldn't take his slight distraction for rudeness, but in the scheme of things that was unimportant. Damien sighed slightly. He wanted to look around but not seem rude. "Would you like to dance, Elayna...?" He asked, turning to the auburn haired girl. She smiled and he stood up, leading her to the dance floor so he could scan the room and keep his date content.

Abigail Lawrence had dreamed of the prom since she was a little girl. She had even gone with her friends to one of the largest department stores in Capital City to buy an amazing dress. She had had her date all set to go at the beginning of the year. And he had arrived with another girl. Abigail was heart broken. The chaperons at the door had refused to let her in even though she had a ticket. Now she sat on the front steps of the Seaside Manor crying. The night of her life had been ruined. * * * << Previously at The Twin Bells Lara left Serenity off just outside the compound where the prom was taking place. There was only one snag in her plan to get into prom; Lara had informed Serenity that everyone at prom was required to have a date. Serenity thought that it was odd that a school, of all institutions, would force children to form spontaneous relationships for the purpose of attending a social event consisting of spiked punch and lowered inhibitions. But hey, when in Rome, or in this case Delmor. Serenity walked up to the doors to the mansion, taking note of the familiar red ATV parked near the door. Her tentative plan was to entice an unsuspecting boy into accompanying her inside but when she reached the steps all her scheming stopped. A girl in a black dress was sitting on the stairs, alone and crying. Serenity walked over to her and sat next to her. "This isn't a night to be sad. May I ask why you're crying?" she asked in a caring voice. The girl lifted her head from her lap and looked at Serenity. She was confused as to why such a pretty girl was wasting her prom night talking to crying Abigail. "My boyfriend dumped me at the door," Abigail answered hopelessly, burying her face in her arms again. Serenity scooted closer to the crying girl. "Boys can be mean sometimes. My name's Serenity, what's yours?" "Abigail," the girl replied. She sniffed and looked up again. "Serenity's not a name you hear often." Serenity laughed, "No, no it's not. I get that alot." "It's a pretty name. It suits you." Serenity smiled. "Thank you. I think Abigail's a pretty name too." She paused and added, "You know, Abigail, the boy I was supposed to go with to prom ditched me too. But from what I can remember, the school didn't say that it had to be a boy and a girl going together. How about you and me go in there and tear up the dance floor? We'll make all the boys jealous!" Serenity jumped up from her seat on the stairs as fast as her heals would let her and offered her hand to Abigail. Abigail sniffed again and wiped her nose. Maybe the night wasn't a complete loss. It would be nice to go to the prom with someone who actually wanted to be there with her. She took the outstretched had and said, "Alright. That sounds like a better plan than crying out here by myself. I've got money for photos too. Would you take them with me?" "I would love to," Serenity replied, smiling. The girls walked up to the chaperons at the door and showed them their tickets, then continued on inside.

<< Previously. Anthony felt incredibly on edge. He hated large gatherings of people because they made him feel vulnerable and defensive. It didn't help that nearly all the people around him were four to six years younger than him either and that he felt ridiculous in his suit and would have prefered to have worn his street clothes. None the less he walked into the manor with his date clinging to his arm. As they walked into the main hall he smiled at Beth and whispered in her ear, "I forgot to bring my wallet in with me I'll be right back." It was a flimsy lie but she believed it and he jogged back to the car. When he unlocked the door and reached under the passenger's seat he looked both ways before pulling his heroing costume out. He quickly locked the car and sort of hid the costume so no one could quite tell what he was carrying. He hung his blue suit jacket on a fairly remote tree and then concentrated really hard on all of his surroundings. He cursed himself for wearing the white shirt but since it was dark out he didn't have to worry too much about it. He gathered the scenery around him and with a deep breath he closed his eyes. Anyone watching would notice that Anthony had simply up and disappeared. Anyone watching closely would see sort of a blob of air that didn't seem to fit with its surroundings as it moved across the grounds. Anthony quickly found a decent place to hide the costume should he need it and made his way back to his suit jacket and shortly after that back into the manor.

"Who is this 'Hank' and should I worry about him stealing my date?" Cait giggled as she watched Cael take a swig of pop. It was a label she didn't recognize, and Cael's hand was over the name. She wondered if B.A.N.D. had had some special drink catered. It was very generous of them to host the prom for their school, and it meant that her class would have even more money for their senior trip... Maybe they could even do something fun like a mystery cruise with dinner around the island! It was one of the tourist things Cait had always actually wanted to do... The boat left at dusk and circled Delmor and a few surrounding islands during the night. Meanwhile, an actor would mysteriously die and it was the job of the people on the ship to try to solve the mystery through the course of events. it looked like brilliant fun! Rowena noticed Austin grow quiet. He'd mentioned that he'd been out of school for a while as well, and he probably felt a little uncomfortable. He'd never really struck Rowena as the kind of guy that particularly enjoyed the limelight, but he took it all in stride. Lots of people wanted to be your friend when you had lots of money... Rowena searched the room they were in for her "friends," none of whom had checked on her after the fight... She had lost her cool, certainly, and it had had a negative effect on her standing. If she had been able to stay in school she likely could have run damage control immediately, but Cait falling unconcious and the need for both girls to be hospitalized made that impossible. They had made a scene that could not be missed, and she would have been expelled anyway. At least by dropping out she still got to go to prom... Judging by what she'd seen so far, the Manor was not too much bigger than her own home. It was similar to her house, and was possibly built by the same architect. She leaned in to whisper in Austin's ear, "Excuse me, I'm going to go find the powder room." Setting out to explore the manor further, she spotted the same Channel Q news crew, likely moved inside in order to film the concert. Suddenly, all of Rowena's plotting fell into place. Grabbing the front of her dress, Rowena marched over to the crew, quickly stopping a few feet away from the man in the penguin suit to smooth her dress and hair. Gracefully, she walked towards the chatting newsfolk, and stuck out a hand at the nearest lull in the conversation, "Hi, I'm Rowena Lasairona, and I'm the head of this class at DUHS," She lied, "I just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you for coming! It's so nice that we get to share this great event with the rest of Delmor, isn't it?" "That's funny, little girl, because we interviewed the president of the class outside about ten minutes ago. Now, why don't you turn your camera whoring butt around and go play with the rest of the kids?" Rowena was caught completely off guard, and the words stung deep. They'd seen right through her, as if she were nothing more than cellophane... She pouted her lips and crossed her arms with a resounding "HUMPH!" and stormed back to dining room to find Austin. It was then that Jay saw Rowena marching into the room, and Jay's jaw dropped. In a flash she'd grabbed Cait's arm and pulled her closer to whisper and point devilishly in the direction of the offending brat. Cait was shocked by the sudden violent movement and nearly choked on a scallop, but recovered quickly enough to hear Jay whisper, "Well, look what the cat dragged in..." Cait followed the pointing finger and her eyes met Rowena as she wrapped her arm around Austin's on the other side of the room. "How did she...Why is she... OH MY GOD!" Cait said, dropping a small plate of snacks onto the table. "I know! What are we going to do? What if she starts something?" "I guess we'll just have to wait and find out... At least they have security here, eh? If we tell them she's harassing us, maybe they can kick her out or something..." "Ugh... Well, this is certainly an interesting turn of events..." Cait's shoulder slumped forward. Prom was going to go very differently now....

Violet suddenly felt quite lost as she wandered through the crowds of people. She recognized some of them, vaguely, but her memory wasn't good enough to fill her in on specifics like names and interests. She was struck, suddenly, by the memory that she had come with a date, and she paused in the center of the room to gaze around for someone who might fit that criteria. She didn't remember who he was--at least, not in the sense that other people would remember him. She remembered being him, some frigid memory of a six-year-old sledding down a snowy slope, half jubilant and half scared to death. Violet folded her arms in front of her as her lower lip stuck out like a shelf. Everybody else was having fun and talking to people, so why not her? She had lots of things to say. She probably knew things that none of them knew, like what language the pink elephants spoke and how many colors snowflakes came in. As Violet crossed the room, a few people around her blinked incredulously as, to their eyes, it began to rain in the room for just a few seconds. The people who succumbed to Violet's hallucinations would shake their heads and pretend that they had seen nothing, nervously returning to their conversations and plates of food. Still pouting, Violet flopped down against a wall near a 13ROY unit that babbled statickly-delivered lines to no one in particular. She called him Mr. Sparky and told him to be quiet.
