-[ Basis ]-
Yureta is based off of Atreyu from The Neverending Story by Michael Ende, his name created using the syllables in reverse order. Why is he green? Atreyu looked nothing like this in the movie. However, the one in the book looked a lot like this. His people wore green skin, he wore white paint on his face. His people venerated the purple buffalo (which are actually a purplish-red color) and Atreyu was known to wear a cloak made of the buffalo fur. Yureta's tail was dyed this purplish color in honor of the purple buffalo.

-[ Abilities ]-
Yureta was highly regarded among his people for his skills on the hunt (his speed, stealth, and understanding of the animals and terrain), despite his very young age. In this way he is a prodigy, however he has a lot to learn in other instances.

-[ Attitude ]-
Proud and confident, Yureta is a strong individual in many ways. However, since being displaced from the plains of his home into an urban environment has meant that he must swallow his pride and actually listen. He has become the student instead of the proud warrior, a difficult place to be. Luckily people in the Anthro world do not usually judge people by their appearance or age (or lack thereof). He is driven and determined, making whatever 'mission' he undertakes one of his priorities. He will become acclimated to his new life; it's just a question of when.

-[ Likes ]-
Wide open spaces, freedom (all kinds), camping out under the stars, running for miles.

-[ Dislikes ]-
Enclosed spaces (though he hides this), oppression, failure.

-[ Hidden Self ]-
Yureta will not admit this aloud, but closed spaces put him at unease. It is not quite a fear, but the inability to see (or hear) everything around him leaves him feeling defenseless.

-[ History ]-
As mentioned, Yureta grew up on the seemingly endless Grassy Plains, inhabited by the purple buffalo, and his people the Greenskins. An orphan, he was raised by his entire tribe, and to this day he enjoys crowds of people, especially bars, markets, malls, and the like. And of course, the Nullspace.

It is unclear how he found himself on the outside of a book, along with others he knew from Fantastica: Kerumogu (Gmork) and Falkor. It is also unclear how he came to the Nullspace and claimed it as his home.

Yureta spends a great deal of time wandering, when he does not have responsibilities to attend to. His mind and spirit wander, and he is known to be gone for days or even weeks at a time.

Arrives at the Nullspace

-[ Basis ]-
Asher is based off a vampire of the same name from Laurell K. Hamilton's series of Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter novels. Both are scarred over the right side of their bodies with burn scars from holy water. Because of their beauty they were chosen to become a vampire; because of their scars they were ostracized literally for centuries. Ironically, despite the character's tortured past, the name itself is Hebrew for happy, or blessed.

-[ Abilities ]-
His bite is downright orgasmic

-[ Basis ]-
Tatsuhiko Shido from the anime series Nightwalker, a detective specializing in preternatural crime (especially vampires and "night breeds") ... who also happens to be a vampire himself.

-[ Abilities ]-
Using his own blood as a weapon, such as a projectile (throwing knives) or sword. Speed, illusion (and other mind trickery), jumping like a grasshopper and other typically vampiric talents.

-[ Attitude ]-
Shido typically likes to blend in with the crowd, and would adopt his style with the changing times and environments. Where he is best known to take on the cool, low-key demeanor of a stereotypical gumshoe, he more recently takes on a bit of a teasing or even flirtatious air to fit in with the other anthros.

-[ Likes ]-
The smell of and heat of a good cup of coffee. Teasing certain Uke's (Micheal especially) - it's all in good fun of course.

-[ Dislikes ]-
Being on the bottom, having his mind rolled (steam-rolled, flattened, squashed, flipped, etc.) - he much prefers to be in control. Hates when others are taken advantage of, partly why he went into the private investigations field.

-[ Hidden Self ]-
Shido is a person whose strong morals are not always apparent. The fact that he is a vampire and the tendencies that go with it have always warred with his personality. He carries a vaguely ominous aura around him that often puts people (especially ukes) ill-at-ease. Sometimes he takes advantage of this for a good time or for his work, but it gets in the way of forming normal relationships, which he often secretly regrets.

-[ History ]-
Shido's past is, like those of many vampires, shrouded in darkness, mystery, and things that are far from G-rated. Suffice to say he's been a vampire since at least the Industrial Revolution; horse-and-buggy, steam boats, and the like were still readily in use. When he was turned, he was studying to be a doctor (he abandoned that very quickly of course), had a loving but religious family. And, like many fledglings, he came about the demise of that family in various ways.

Much more recently, he shed all traces of his past, leaving only his former master and lover, Caine, attempting at random intervals to reclaim him. Not much success there. His former office assistant, Riho was also brought into the mess, though he has since cut ties with him in an effort to shelter him from Caine's menace.

Several years ago, Shido's cousin Shino came around. He too is a vampire and their familial resemblance is unmistakable. Where does he fit into this, and how was he turned? No one is going to say outright... and to a casual observer it would seem likely that Shido is the one who brought him over into darkness, but Shido will confirm that he did not bring him over. Throughout the decades, Shino has made it a point to be a thorn in his cousin's side, going so far at one point to pursue Caine (though nothing really came of it).

-[ Basis ]-
Keahi is a Hawaiian name meaning "fire," or "flames," and can be applied to either gender. Keahi was born of the earth and of fire, hence the volcanic reference.

-[ Abilities ]-
Keahi seems to have inherited many of Ignatius' abilities of fire. He loves to curl up in the fireplace to sleep - nestled among the roaring flames. His anger brings about a similar aura of heat waves that have thus far been extinguished before he could catch on fire. His abilities are raw and unpredictable; though he can call forth the flames, the extent of the damage is beyond his ability at this time to control (because of his lack of practice in the past).

-[ Attitude ]-
Age, and even more so responsibility, have certainly curbed Keahi's erratic disposition. However, like Iggy, he is prone to moments of zany (and catlike) behavior, usually involving chasing someone's tail or nipping their ears, or pawing at their nose, almost neurotically. Then... it's back to sleep as if nothing happened. He has no fear when it comes to striking up a conversation with even an alpha... he is the son of one after all. He walks with that kind of confidence as well. However, in the midst of discussion, it is his age that betrays him, and soon enough he becomes almost apologetic in behavior in his desire to please his elders.

-[ Likes ]-
Had he the opportunity, he would still love to hide among his mother Machi's ruffly skirts; there was always more than enough to go around. However, like his alpha father, Keahi feels little need to actually wear clothes. To compensate, his bed is what becomes decked out in pillows, textured fabrics, and... well, anything Machi might have suggested to make it feel more like home. He likes to play with long hair, which often annoys people he knows, the ones he is most likely to toy with.

-[ Dislikes ]-
Especially loud noises terrify Keahi, and he has been known to launch himself at Jimi's guitar. He dislikes being stared at, and will fiercely challenge the opposition (see his picture, hehe).

-[ Hidden Self ]-
Keahi secretly worries for his sense of self. The majority of his life has been focused at helping his father run a failing pack, not at developing himself as a person... with personality. He fears that should David ever return to his duties as beta, Keahi will have lost his sense of purpose and what makes him useful and what defines him as a person.

-[ History ]-
From a very young age, Keahi saw his father's need for a beta and stepped up to do whatever he could to assist. This forced him to "grow up" early, under the weight of responsibility. He carries the mantle well and can level with a great many people. However, as mentioned, he fears there is little else to his character. When neurotic kittenish behavior melts away with age, there isn't even that to support him.

-[ Current Events ]-

No one in particular, though the name 'Shelby' is similar to the wife of Eric Draven (The Crow), whom Raven is based from. More than that, the name Shelby means 'a place near the ledge,' and near the ledge, or edge, is where Shelby seems to be.

-[ Abilities ]-
Seeing, hearing, communicating with, spirits; he seems to have one foot in this world and one in the Next. He is especially good at seeing a spirit's death over and over again; also at seeing the dead surrounding an individual (for example, if someone is being watched over by a long line of supportive ancestry; or if someone has killed many people). Both abilities do not seem to have anything to do with whether the spirit is still there, or rather, he seems to work as a conduit wherein the spirit, Passed On or not, can show you exactly how they died. Shelby seems incapable at times of turning this ability off.

-[ Attitude ]-
In general rather detached, as if bored or in a daze, unless something (or someone) intrigues him. Inquisitive, he is very intelligent and will ask questions until he is satisfied he understands what he wants to know. He knows little fear despite his small size, and seems oblivious to all but the worst pain. He has been known to obsess, which has the potential to get him into trouble. After several terrifying experiences where he was completely helpless at the time, he feels a strong need to be in dominance over a situation. At these times it is unsafe to approach (and especially touch) him. So while he would naturally have been uke, he behaves as seme. Whether this can ever change is unknown.

-[ Likes ]-
Death, ghosts, pointing out how many ghosts are hovering around someone, following people who interest him (and asking all sorts of questions), watching people without blinking (and doing other various things to unnerve them). He loves to practice necromancy - he can speak with the dead, why not raise and control them? This has met with varying and often bizarre results however.

-[ Dislikes ]-
Sports and other physical activities, unless he chooses to participate; (sometimes violently) abhors being forced into anything for that matter. Carrots, lettuce, and other traditional rabbity foods (he prefers fresh-killed meat ? still bleeding is niiice).

-[ Hidden Self ]-
His hidden self is largely unknown. It can be assumed that he operates largely on fear. He trusts very few people, including Raven. Those he would like to trust he has been known to try to sexually dominate. More mixed results. Needless to say, his need for security is not often met (especially with Raven's past emotional instability), and his bizarre ways to remedy that are not often successful... or when they are usually fuel his spiral into insanity.

-[ History ]-
Even as an infant, Shelby was known to stare off into space. Only those around him that were capable of capturing his attention could really understand that he was actually intelligent. To others he simply seemed spacey, possibly even rather dim. He suffered by something akin to autism, where he heard just about everything going on around him... only it applied to both here and to other planes.

Speculation includes that Raven's loss of his first wife brought him closer to the brink, and this was transferred somehow to his son. Or perhaps Shelby is just that empathic, and an already budding ability was focused and expanded on that.

He has always adored his father. Anything that upsets him in any way receives the bunny-demon's ire and hate. As a result, Shelby inevitably came to hate his mother Mousse. Raven has never blamed Mousse for how things turned out, but because they upset Raven so completely, Shelby turned his impotent range on the only force he could focus on.

Shelby turned his obsession with making his father happy turned toward a deeper, more painful part of the demon's past: his first wife. It was decided that he would try to resurrect Shelly. Since that decision, the bunnydemon has striven to excel in the art of necromancy. Tirelessly he studied the old books and scrolls (those he could find) on the subject.

Long story short, what happened instead brought about the appearance of Mel in anthro form, as unbelievable as that sounds.

And several awkward, largely unmentionable things happened, leaving Mel thinking not-so-fondly of Shelby.

-[ Current Events ]-

Suspicion and fear aside, he pays The Petal a visit to see what it's all about.

-[ Basis ]-
Carlos named himself, if anyone can believe that. He looks up to his father in all things, and since the Unicorn was named after a great guitarist, he wanted to be named similarly. Carlos, therefore, is named after the master musician, Santana. And you thought it was a work of vanity on the father's part... =P Carlos would also like to name any kids he has after guitarists.

-[ Abilities ]-
Mechanics are his abilities. He can take apart, fix (if need be) or modify, then put back together just about any machine. Unfortunately for his father, it has been discovered that he definitely does not have a knack for musical instruments. Also, his 'puppy-dog look' does not work on Adrian.

-[ Attitude ]-
Despite his rather feminine appearance, Carlos is all male. He does not mind getting his hands dirty both figuratively and literally, as long as he can wash up afterward. Wide-eyed and curious, he is the last person to judge another, especially if they are at all associated with Jimi. If they are at odds with him, "I'm sure they can't be all bad." He is admittedly optimistic, to the point of naivete, more a typical Unicorn than his own full-blooded father. As such, he is also not a fighter, and while he grew up around violence, he is not the type to panic but rather knows to scoot out of the way.

-[ Likes ]-
Of all the senses, Carlos loves the sense of Touch the best. This is why, despite Jimi's poorly-guarded disgust, he can be found wearing such things as feathered boa's, suede, and sleeping on satin sheets. While at home, because Jimi does not like to cuddle, Carlos would be most likely found snuggling up with Keahi or Iggy, for example (the latter of which would no doubt piss Jimi off...). He prefers Adrian's company the most, and literally clings to him if he can get him to loosen up at all. Otherwise he tries to back off, honest...

-[ Dislikes ]-
Wearing high-heels and itchy clothes (like wool), which are uncomfortable. Carlos definitely wants to feel pampered (if only by himself) at the end of the day. He also dislikes violence, but accepts it as a normal part of life (many people would disagree of course).

-[ Hidden Self ]-
He does tend to worry. A lot, at times (especially about Adrian). He tries to hide it if only to put on a brave face, because he has a tendency to cry if he does not keep himself in check. Going with the flow is sometimes a front, but not always. If he does not perceive something to worry about, he will be completely carefree until the forces of inertia kick in.

-[ History ]-
Carlos grew up under the proverbial wing of a complete jackass. As paradoxical as it may seem, one whose life is spent commonly in bars where alcohol, fistfights, and profanity abound was able to shelter his son from most of the things that would corrupt a young mind. Indeed, whenever Carlos comes near Jimi's friends, the atmosphere keys down and sailor-speak transforms into something closer to G-rated (of course, this comes with the threat of great harm should anyone slip up). This left Carlos free to develop his own personality, talents, and dreams without the weight of a harsh life, physically and emotionally.

Very early on, Carlos became interested in machinery. Few things capture his attention like the engine of a car. And so, after developing his fascination and talent into a real skill, he became responsible for the maintenance of every vehicle on the property, from recreational vehicles to lawnmowers and blenders.

Some of the fault lies in the person Carlos knows as 'mother,' and of the unique situation around the Nullspace. Keelin helped raise most of the kids that grew up here, on some level. To every one of these kids, he is a second mother (if not the only one they can relate the title to). He is attentive, loving, and careful to nurture the aspirations of everyone.

In Carlos' case, he never had an opportunity to bond with his real mother Haruna, and does not even remember his brothers. It is his belief that they could care less about him, despite what others might say. Of course Haru loves all of his sons, and even the brothers must care for him on some level. While Carlos does not believe a word of this, he insists that he does not care. All the family he needs is right there and grew up with him over the years. They are the ones that know him and care about him, not some dim memory of a parent who never bothered to write.

Jimi hates this little fact of Carlos' life, but hey, what can you do...

Over the past few years, Carlos has been seeing a rat named Adrian, and the rat has questioned several times how someone like Carlos could possibly want or try to get to know someone like him. Admittedly, their relationship has been anything but smooth. Adrian may not like it but he and Jimi are similar in temperament, which might lead some to think Carlos has some kind of 'father complex,' and rather creepy if that were the case. Closer to the truth is this: because Carlos knows how Jimi operates, he is able to better understand Adrian. He can see past all the pain and anger and the desire to inflict the same. So while they have come disastrously close to breaking up on numerous occasions, things always worked out in the end (admittedly through stubbornness on Carlos' part). After all, even early on the unicat how Adrian felt... even if the rat did not want to admit it even to himself.

Merric is a Celtic name meaning "ruler of the sea." It is also rather catchy. ...No pun intended. O.o;

-[ Abilities ]-
Adaptation to both sea- and freshwater, as well as air. When he becomes "human" (or at least appears that way), he looks human but with slightly greenish skin. His platinum-blonde hair, facial features and purple eyes, as well as henna-like markings (in the form of tattoos) remain.

-[ Attitude ]-
In general, a positive outlook rules Merric, though his arrogance and spontaneity can work to his disadvantage. He is a restless soul, often roaming the Mer tank restlessly until he can bear it no longer, and goes out for a stroll in his human form, in the park or somesuch. His tendency to judge people and situations instantaneously often gets him into trouble since he sees the world in "black and white." Either a person is a jerk, or a nice person. One or the other. Otherwise, he wakes up "bright-eyed and bushy-tailed," as the saying goes, and thinks the best until given a reason to believe otherwise.

-[ Likes ]-
Flowers, plants with fronds or anything that waves about to a current (especially underwater), clothes that drape or billow, jewelry and sparkly things in general (metal, etc.), nature untouched by Man, being sneaky or silly on occasion.

-[ Dislikes ]-
Rude individuals (never mind that his own actions may be viewed as rude), losing a battle (physical or otherwise), being away from Fisk.

-[ Hidden Self ]-
Despite an above average level of arrogance, crowds of people - even other Mers - make him nervous. Part of what fuels his restless wanderings is a sense of pent-up, nervous energy that others ignite within him. That may be because of his lack of contact with others in the past, but who knows.

-[ History ]-
Merric claims Atlantean ancestry, though he may not voice it to just anyone. Who nowadays would believe him? Suffice to say, he comes from the vast oceans where he is used to wandering the vast depths.
