(( well, since I'm next to reply, figured I'd put in the backstory. >D I'll be changing Blythe's text color as soon as I know what it is... ;>> )) Melomar Wed Feb 14, 2007 11:41 pmKeahi lay curled up on the back of a couch (NOT Arthur's XD), tail swinging along below. Eyes were closed, but the young fox-firecat was very much awake, and listening. It was an old habit he had learned from his father, whose duties been slightly lacking lately... Lenore Thu Feb 15, 2007 12:00 amBlythe walked into the store, looking around as he hadnt been here before, well he had when he first arrived here but he was more of a cat that liked to stay at home then be at a busy store with alot of people around. He saw that alot of anthros were around and he suddenly felt frightened, he wanted to go home, he didnt want to be here unless it was with his twin brother and so he did the next best thing. Blythe looked around the store and saw the fire place was the fartherest thing that he could be by that was away from people yet still was in the store so he quickly made a bee line towards it.
As soon as he was there he settled down, hugging his knees and just taking in the surroundings, once he was a little more used to this he would try and get up and maybe get a drink or something but till then he would just wait this out as best he could. Melomar Thu Feb 15, 2007 12:12 amKeahi suddenly yawned and stretched his arms and back, flapped his wings a bit and hopped off the couch, padding across the floor. In his opinion, the fire had gotten too low. He flicked a glance and a smile at Blythe before kneeling in front of the fireplace. A deep breath was held for an instant as his lungs superheated the air, and he blew into the burning wood. He watched the flames jump upward with a pleased smile. Lenore Thu Feb 15, 2007 12:43 amBlythe smiled slightly at the other yet didnt do much else, he wasnt one to just talk to strangers, he wasnt one to do much of anything unless he REALLY knew them. He just stayed where he was, pleased that the fire was going again so he mustered up all the courage he had and spoke "th...thank you" he said as loudly as he could and while it came out like a fog horn to him to others it was more then likely a something a little louder then a whisper. Melomar Thu Feb 15, 2007 12:51 amAn ear rotated toward Blythe as he spoke, and he turned to smile broadly at the pale-blue cat seated behind him. "Not a problem! I love fire." Purring lightly from the increased heat, he nevertheless moved back to allow Blythe to enjoy the fire at his leisure. "You know," he said softly, "you should meet my dad sometime. He's the alpha of the cats."
Grinning once more at the other, he turned and headed for the kitchen. He was hungry. Lenore Thu Feb 15, 2007 1:30 amBlythe smiled a little more "we...we have a a pack leader living with us" he said as loud as before, still not brave enough to speak normally as of yet "the rat beta, Absinthe, I think a demon at home has meet your father also, the name sounds familiure." He said to the other, thinking of Kimaris, a friend of his who mentioned the name once before yet was so long ago that he was a little uncertain if it was him or someone else in the estate, he knew the name had been mentioned he just couldnt remember by whom. Keahi grabbed a quick snack thinking about what Blythe had said and returned to the fire. The apparently shy anthro seemed open to conversation, and if he couldn't meet Ignatius, perhaps meeting him was close enough. They had similar goals, after all.
A demon... could that be Kimaris? He knew that his father felt a particular fondness for that one, a protective almost fatherly or guardian type responsibility for him. He smiled warmly. "This demon... do you mean Kimaris?"

((That's it, I hadnt used cyan with any other anthro of mine so I gave it to Blyth. XD))
Blythe looked up frm the fire and nodded "yes, I think it was him, I think he has been the only other one to have meet a pack leader besides Absinthe." He said as loudly as before "Kimaris had trouble in the past, he came here in hopes to get over it, never did..." he said trailing off and looking at the fire for a few moments before begining again "...thats right, now I remember" he said as he turned and face the other a little. more.
"Your father helped him out along with the demon alpha, I think he wishes to meet with him again also, he wants to repay him for his kindess" he said as he stood up. "Please, excuse me" he said just as loudly as the previous times and walked out to the kitchen and grabed himself a drink from the fridge and walked back.
The butterfly settled down on the floor again, knees up and he undid his bottle of cooke and took a sip, placing the tp back on again heplaced it down beside him.

(( Shweet, I rock. wink *mauled by bricks* ))
The firecat-fox nodded as Blythe spoke. Yes, it had to be him. His story was so sad and... infuriating. It made him want to find whomever had ruined his young life and feed him his own a**. Or something. Feeling himself flush with anger, he forced himself to calm down. The difference between himself and Ignatius had been how they used their anger... the Alpha had used it to shield - to protect and comfort the demon. Keahi knew he had so much to learn and often found himself baffled.
He used the time Blythe spent in the kitchen to finish eating and composing himself. He smiled at the other. "I think my father always felt a strong sense of responsibility for Kimaris and cares for him deeply. He would like to meet him again, but I doubt he would allow Kim to 'repay' him. One thing about Ignatius is that he is almost always selfless."

((LOL yesh, Melo rocks. XD))
"I know Kimaris deeply cares for him also, he just simply adores your father greatly" he said as he folded his legs in front of him "he also is stubborn so your father will be repaied wather he wants to or not" he said with a soft giggle. "Though, he also wants to meet him again just to give him an update basically on how hes going, his life has changed for the greater good since that inccident" he said to the other, thinking of the hybrid who had become his mate and their adoptive son.

Keahi grinned broadly - it could be said that the canine in him was brought out in that smile - as Blythe said Ignatius would be repaid one way or another. "Good," he purred deeply. "He needs some good news... and a chance to talk with a friend outside the house."
Keahi's eyes slid back toward the fireplace and he stared into the flames for what seemed like a long while. He had been frustrated lately and wanted to drag his father around looking for harem candidates. He tried to be there for everyone else and no one else seemed willing to be there for him. He deserved far better... and catching up with old friends was a great start.

Blythe opened the bottle and took a mouthful from it before swolloing and doing the bottle up again "well im sure Kim will be up for it whenever he wished to meet with him again. Though right now might not be best, he is busy moving, his adoptive son brought him and his mate an old victorian estate. Comes complete with several acres, stables, horses, servents and what seems to be a ghost to, not that Kimaris cares, he adores the supernatrual" he said as he looked back to the flames."

His gaze flicked back to Blythe. The adopted son bought him the Victorian home? Amazing... Sounded like Ignatius had left some things out of his tellings of the demon. "Ahh, the supernatural. He'd probably like it around our place. We have some resurrected people, vampires, and a necromancer..." Keahi trailed off, noticing that so far, Blythe had spoken much, but nothing about himself.
He peered more closely at Blythe as the other watched the fire, then himself turned to look back at the fire. A mild air of indifference. Or perhaps he was just giving the other a mild push while trying to give him some space. "Tell me something about yourself."

There was a reason he hadnt spoken about himself and that was because he hated to, he just never felt comfortable talking about himself, he sighed and shugged it off. "We have a necromancer around home, a few zombies to as well as a vampire, well Eclipse doesnt live with us but he is technically bound to be under Murakis care still."
He said as he sighed softly "there isnt much to tell, im an orphen along with my twin brother, we grew up on the streets and thats about it, never really knew our parents. We ended up drifting from town to town, doing odd jobs here and there for money but never stayed long before moving on.
Lenore was drinking at a pub we were cleaning at one night after work with a friend, we got talking and she ended up bringing us back here to live with Muraki and her friends anthros." He said as he threw another bit o wood onto the fire "my intrests arnt much, I love to read, love latin and ballroom dancing, enjoy old music, love fire, enjoy the winter months and have taken singing lessons since I was able to pay my way for them.
I enjoy cuddling, protecting and being around my brother mostly and thats about it as to going out, I usually dont leave the house unless its with him. This is one of those rather rare occasions" he said to the other, before stopping "I guess thats all there is, im kind though rather boring when it comes down to it" he said as he looked into the fire still, knowing that he was never going to find anyone to like him let alone love him due to how he was.
Not that the butterfly was looking for a boyfriend or mate or anything but still, thinking over what he was like now that it was brought up, he knew noone would like him, sad but true and in a way he didnt care but still, in another, he did.
((And I would of given more background but I havent talked to Kain (i think thats the other one who has Blythes brother) to talk about the history of the brothers so we have no history for them as of yet. XD; ))

Blown away by just how much Blythe divulged, Keahi merely stared, wide-eyed. He realized much later that he was actually looking at Blythe instead of the fire and did not know when that happened. And when Blythe was done, he was stricken, unable to figure out what to say. Was he supposed to say so much about himself? He... tried to think of enough to supply and could not. Most of his life was centered around his father, whom he idolized, studied under, and adored with his entire being.
For a while, he simply mulled things over. He wanted to speak, but when he was about to, more ideas struck him. He remembered the recent addition to their home, Moony. Wasn't he also an orphan? Blythe obviously liked fire and admitted such... but for Keahi he brought to mind images of snowscapes and magic. Mention of old music and ballroom dancing reminded him of stories of this one party the entire shop had put on for an anniversary of some sort. All their (the kids from home) parents had been there... Raven, Jimi, Ignatius...
"I like you," he said simply, abruptly, with a Cheshire cat grin. "You're far more interesting than you realize."

Blythe didnt know how much to say about himself, he usually avoided that question like the plague, so he thought it wasbest to say all just in case. His train of thought ended as blush appeared on his face due to the others words, he finding it unable to speak now, it was the first time anyones actually said they liked him and/or found him interesting besides his brother.
"I...thank you" he said softly and sincerly, the only thing he could say, he kept looking at the fire to hide his blush more then anything else.

Keahi's grin became one of contentment as he watched the fire and purred. It was a pacifier to one like him, like soft blanket or the touch of a close friend. Tail curled around him and tapped slowly, softly against his feet.
After a while, he spoke. "Well, it's only fair that I tell you about myself too, though if you think you're boring there's not much to me. I mean, I think the center of my world is my father. He's a pack leader so he's always busy, always trying to help people. It's not a job to him but part of his being. And I've always been with him, trying to emulate him, learning to be a leader, and how people think, that sort of thing. My gift of fire is also because of him. As the alpha of the cats, his element is fire. I don't know about other pack leaders, but he is an elemental creature, if that makes sense. So I can control fire to a lesser extent."
He smirked slightly, raising a hand to look at his palm. A tongue of fire appeared to hover there like a pilot light a second or so before the entire hand was engulfed in flame. Then, as quickly as it had appeared, the fire disappeared, a swirling of heat and air blowing his hair around.
Looking back up at Blythe, he shook a faint dusting of ash from his hand before lowering it. "Besides that there's not much at all to me. He had two mates, but now he's alone. I have one brother whom I never see or talk to. We're both half fox but don't really look it. I don't care I guess, at least as much as Dad... There's a lot of guys my age around the house and we all grew up together, we all have family issues too."
He blinked, realizing he was beginning to ramble, and since Blythe was an orphan, this subject might bother him. "But there's Moony too, who grew up on his own like you. I can only begin to imagine what it must have been like... I mean, my biggest worries were about the future and yours were more basic and immediate... And yet, you have this ability to ballroom dance..." A light seemed to go off above his head. "My mother loves to wear those ornate floor-length dresses... he helped me decorate my room to match that basic style, since I love it but really don't like to wear clothes..." He trailed off, chuckling a little. He and Ignatius had great reasons for walking around in the nude. The first and greatest, because they did not like to, but the second of course was that clothing tended to burn and melt when touched by fire...

Blythe listened as the cat went on, lookd over and smiled softly at him "you ddnt have to tell me your life history, not that im not greatful, I am, thank you but still Iwould of calmed down in a few moments." He said as he sighed contentedly, looking back at the fire "you sound more interesting then what I do" he sad sincerly, curling up into a ball by the fire, typical cat style, something he does when he wishes to get warm and yet could still talk to the company.

"Heh, too late I guess," Keahi chuckled, "and I suppose we can agree to disagree on who's got more going on." He grinned again, yawning and stretching long arms before curling up again. His bat-like wings fanned out to catch the heat as it rose up from the fire nearby. This was nice, very nice.

Blythe chuckled "I guess we can" he said as he softly yawned himself, the fires heat starting to make him sleepy, a reason why he doesnt stay by the fire as long as he has. "But I guess I cant really say much, I dont get out often to observe others, see what they are like etc so I guess I am not one who could pass judgement on who is interesting and who isnt" he said as he stiffed another small yawn.
