Foxy Momma Part I

DS was thankfully without her kid for once. She was taking a much needed break while his 'uncle' took him to some movie. She didn't do movies. Too crowded, to smelly, and too loud. What she prefered was the park and that's where she was. Stretching herself out and cracking her back she went on her daily run. Greg gave them money but old habbits died hard.

It was a nice warm day and she was out on her runs.

She had her little stash all set up. No one ever suspected a fox of stealing anything but chickens. Smirking to herself she dove back in and pulled out her bag, putting the pendant back on. Once she regained her human shape she headed back toward her apartment but one of her apples rolled out. She was too busy focusing on that to look where she was heading.

Boredom on his day off had led Fifth to where he was now. His growing-up-too-fast children were busy with their respective dates ( as much as Damien would deny liking that child, you could practically see the hearts floating out of him whenever Cheyenne was brought up ). As such, he had the fun of practicing his free running all over the park, though he focused on the playground for a good portion of the time.

Green eyes caught sight of a familiar face while he was hanging from the limb of a tree. Dropping his legs from the branch and then dropping to the ground, he grinned slightly. Wiping the sweat from his brow, he sauntered over to the distracted foxy female, hooking one of her fingers with his own and twirling her to face him. "Tell me, my dear, haven't I seen you somewhere before?"

That freakin' apple was making her growl rather distastefully. She was after it and trying not to spill the rest of her bag when all the sudden she was twirled and faced to face with someone's sweaty chest. Her first instict was the slug the s**t out of him and she did. Her fist contacted with his chest (rather hard) as she jerked her head up to growl at him. She stopped instantly when she saw just WHO she'd hit. "Oh s**t!" She swore dropping her fist. "I didn't know it was you! What the hell you thinkin' grabbin' someone like that?"

Fifth staggered slightly at the blow to his chest, knocking a bit of the air out of his chest. Thanks to the contrast in their sizes, however, it didn't do a whole lot more than that, and he chuckled as he rubbed the area that had been hit. He bit his tongue to keep from laughing further at her angered reaction, lion's tail swaying from side-to-side behind him. "Well, I was /hoping/ to surprise you. Though I suppose I accomplished that, just not quite how I had been hoping to~"

"Is this how you greet all your student's guardians?" She questioned with a sarcastic bite to her voice. She righted her bag in her arms and leaned back to glance around. The classic signs of a person who'd done something they weren't supposed to. "Listen, Puss, as much as I enjoyed beating you down. I don't know if you know who you're trying to sweep of her feet. I don't fall for prince charmings." She turned purposely gliding her tail over his chest. "Now, do you have some reason to be trying to woo me?"

"Well, since you're the only one I've actually met, I'd call that a resounding 'yes'," he replied easily, oblivious to her suspicious movements. He adjusted his wings, leaning back slightly at the tail drawn across his chest and fluffing his feathers up indignantly. "Oh you don't, do you? Good thing that 'prince charming' would probably be the last thing anyone would describe me as," he joked, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms as the air's chill started effect him and his lack of movement. "Besides, I honestly just miss having other adult friends. Between work and taking care of a giant family, I don't get the chance to talk to anyone over eighteen who isn't a FacilityBot."

"You mean parents just drop those brats off there without meeting the teachers? Pft, and I'm called irresponsible because I let the runt stay up as late as he wants." She looked back at the lion, flicking her tail and smirking at him. "Oh? Well that makes me feel so much better knowing I'm your only option. Here I was thinking you sought me out purposely."

"Yep. You're the first I've actually seen face-to-face. Mind you, a lot of my students are preteens or teenagers, but even the children are usually unaccompanied," he said with a smile and an easy shrug of his broad shoulders. He stuck his tongue out teasingly at her mock-insulted tone of voice. "I dun'no. Wouldn't it have been a little creepy if i just /happened/ to find you at this park while deliberately seeking you out?" he offered, waggling his eyebrows. "So where are you headed? Wouldn't mind accompanying you there."

"I don't let my kid go anywhere without an adult. Too many damned humans around. If he's not with me or Greg then there's a problem." She tilted her head back, flattening her ears. "Mmm, maybe. I was headed home. I just got supplies and I don't have time to waste to get them home." She glanced back again. "My kid isn't home, if you're wondering. He's with his uncle."

Fifth chuckled in amusement. "Not a truster of featherless and furless, are you?" he questioned, shrugging his shoulders a bit. "I've never been the protective sort myself. Then again, I've never really been the parent sort myself. But my boys can take care of themselves; Damien's got poisonous teeth and claws nearly six inches long, and if Gabby isn't with him, he's with his wrath-based girlfriend, protected either way," he explained idly, a strange nagging voice hoping that he wasn't embarrassing himself.

"Then I'd be glad to escort you," Fifth replied with a charming smile, gesturing for DS to lead the way. "Actually, I hadn't been wondering at all; didn't think it would concern me."

"I don't trust anyone. You wouldn't either." She stated moving forward. "Devan would go into a car of a stranger if he was asked. He's too trusting. If they told him that he should jump off a bridge he'd do it. No way I'm leaving him alone." Her ears twitched as she looked over her shoulder. "s**t." She hissed under her breath and grabbed his arm pulling him off the path. A few moments later a few police went by and she craned her head to look after him. "Maybe, maybe not. Depends on how much of a charmer you are." She said slipping back out of the trees.

"Trust me, I don't," Fifth reassured her, though he was unsure why. His ears flicked back when he was tugged into the shadows, and he went quiet, green eyes followed the uniformed men angrily. "I have the luck of a pair of kids who know better than to trust the masses, especially after the way they were raised. Damien's violent nature is also a plus on that front," he added thoughtfully, following the woman when she slipped out from behind the trees. He raised his eyebrows, unable to keep the grin from his face. "Is that so? Well, I'll try not to lay it on too thick then~"

She was glad he didn't question her. She moved down the path again. "That would be a good idea. Well, its good but at the same time. That kid can take just about anything." She lead them to a small apartment on the outskirts of town. She opened the door and looked back at him before her tail wagged to beckon him inside. It was small, kind of messy but still a home though a small one. She kicked a few toys out of the way and dropped her bag on the counter. "Not much. Make yourself at home. You drink, lion boy?"

Fifth only nodded absently to the reply that he got, making little more than idle conversation the rest of the way back to the woman's apartment. The Eilian was a bit surprised at, well, how close the woman's apartment was to the one that he lived in. He walked in casually, not seeming to be phased by the simplicity of the place ( though he did have to duck to get through the doorfram ), and took a seat where a seat was available. "Not opposed, but I haven't been able to afford it in a while. What're you offering?"

DS pulled out an amount of alcohol that would make an alcoholic think he'd gone to heaven. "I mix drinks." She responded and began to do just that. She put a few drinks together and put the glass on the table with a heavy thud. "Drink that and you will grow fur on that chest of yours." She responded sitting down and across from him and sipping at hers. "How'd you wind up at the facility?"

A grin spread easily across Fifth's golden-tan face at the offer, nodding a couple times. "Sounds better than other offers I've gotten," he replied, tail flicking about in a rather excited manner as he tried to keep his wings from taking up half of the room. He raised a skeptic brow at the idea of anything putting hair on his chest after his many different ordeals. He sipped at the powerful drink a bit, looking impressed before addressing the conversation. "Ah, happenstance, mostly. I was lucky that they were hiring a time that I walked past is all. The kids were, lucky for me, a 'perk'. Freakin' Vampy and his sadism."

"Ah, that makes sense. Vampy? I've never met him. To be honest I only met the receptionist. The two of us have never gone back." She stood up and approached the Gryphon. "So why are you really here do I have to guess?" She asked leaning against table near him.

"Yeah, Vampy's the guy who's running the whole operation. By my experience with him, he's a bit of a jackass; he forced that set of twins on me willy-nilly and expected me to keep working for him," Fifth grumbled irritably, tail lashing a bit behind him. The only thing he really liked about that place was the fact that they paid him, and they paid him more than minimum wage ( even if he didn't work anywhere full-time ).

"Oh? Do I have to have some kind of ulterior motive?" Fifth asked, smirking softly and leaning back before bracing himself and downing almost all of his drink, hissing at the burning sensation that made his eyes water. "Whose to say I'm not just here for company's sake? You're certainly fun to talk to~"

"Is he a vampire?" She asked setting down her drink. "Well if you ask me sounds like a real jackass. My friend signed me up for Dev and needless to say when I saw what rags the brat was in and how unhappy he looked... Well I wasn't going to leave a kit like him with people who treat him like that."

She gave a snort. "Am I? Most people take a hike as soon as I flash my teeth let alone say a damned word."

Fifth chuckled and shook his head. "Nah, he's not a vampire. From what I can tell, though, I think he might be some form of Satan or another. White hair, yellow eyes, often offers peoples 'contracts', especially when they talk about wanting something," Fifth replied with a roll of his eyes, finished off the drink and letting out a content sigh as that warm feeling started to crawl from his stomach. "I don't blame you. I had when my kids run around that place; I keep thinking someone's gon'na grab one of 'em and start running tests on them again.

"Pfft. Have you seen the teeth and claws I've got myself? If I were scared of your's, I'd run from my own reflection. Besides, I've certainly dealt with people nastier than you,"
he said, idly playing with the glass on the table, a charming glint to his green eyes. "It helps that you're not nasty to begin with."

"That wouldn't surprise me. Virtues? Sins? Sounds like they've got something going on that they shouldn't. Devan hates that place. He says he wants to be a gargoyle. Saw them on TV."

The woman smirks slightly. "Nastier? I'm not so sure about that, Puss. I got a temper. I won't deny that. I like you, Puss." She said giving him a small hit to the shoulder. "You're not as much of a bird brain as I thought."

"Oh, definitely more than a little suspicious. So long as they're feeding the government, though, I'm sure no one will look into it," he replied in a a very anarachial way, rolling his eyes and leaning back in the chair, looking up at DS and chuckle softly. "A gargoyle, eh? Sounds like a good dream to have. My kids weren't given a chance to be scared'a that place. They got'ta be there every day or so, after all, 'specially when they were smaller."

Fifth chuckled and smiled at the woman. "Oh, trust me, I've got a temper, too, as easygoing as I may seem. If someone gets on my badside, they're well aware of it. At least, for the remainder of the time they're alive," he chuckled at the hit, lifting her hand away from his shoulder carefully, being sure to meet her eyes as he did so. "Well, I told you I wasn't that much of a bird-brain, didn't it?"

The fox sat on the table right in front of his chair, her tail sweeping his glass out of her way. "He won't go back. He was terrified of going to your class."

She her hand fall away as she glanced toward another part of the room. "Sounds like you're my kinda guy, Puss. A lot of my type of guy." She made sure he witnessed her slowly looking him up and down. "And so long as you mind your claws, I'll mind mine. Though I can't promise anything."

"Oof. Might have a bit of a struggle with that. They expect a butt-ton of classes out of those poor kids. If you call ahead, though, they might let you get away with having them outside or... something..." Fifth trailed off as the woman took a seat on the table itself, wings ruffling a bit in a mixture of surprise and perhaps a bit of nervousness. Wait, nervousness? Why would he be nervous?

"Am I really?" he asked, leaning back and linking his hands behind his head in a relaxed way that allowed him to show off his muscular chest in a way that was as transparent as a teenage boy's come-on. He flexed his claws slightly, smirk broadening. "Oh, I can see about arranging that, that's for sure."

"Its alright. You don't scare him so maybe he'll get used to the place." She flicked her ears forward, green eyes glinting in a way only a fox could pull off. "After all, I trust you and that's saying something." She watched him lean back and let the conversation fall. They were busy working on another one. She took a good eyeful of his chest before putting a single claw on the center. "So tell me Puss, did you come here for small talk? Or see if the fox was really a vixen?"

"Oh do you? That's something that I haven't heard in a while," the gryphon replied with a soft smile, tail swaying behind him. The smirk wouldn't leave his face, wings flicking out slightly before wrapping around the table loosely, easily encompassing the table, not yet raising themselves high enough to cover the two in shadow, though that was their eventual intention. He chuckled softly at the question and the claw pressed to his chest. "Does it have to be one or the other? If I say both, I look neither like a creep or a loser, after all, don't I?"

DS looked midly amused at the wings still playing it off as though it were normal to have a tall winged lion/eagle man in her kitchen. "I suppose... though I can't say I'm adverse to either. You're the first person in this city to attract my interest Mr. Avenue. That's a rarity in its self. I'm not much to look at as far as girls go. But I can give one helluva night."

Fifth was proud of himself for having not knocked anything over yet, considering the combination of his large stature and the apartment's diminutive size. Regardless, it was still much better than where he lived. Sure, it was bigger, but the space per person was about a square foot, and it seemed that there were always people passed out all over the front room. It certainly made it hard for him to attempt any kind of relationship; but so did the fact that he shared his room with his twins.

"In this entire city? Is that so?" he asked with a chuckle, removing her hand from his chest and laying a kiss on the back of it, though the smirk made it apparent that the purpose was more to make her squirm that to be seriously romantic. "Trust me; in women, I'm not looking for the same thing most men are," he replied, standing and placing his hands on either side of her on the table, leaning on the table so they were at eye-level with each other, the smirk wicked in it's intent on his face, wings casting soft shadows over the both of them. "And with that fiery temper of your's, I'm absolutely /sure/ that you would give me a night I'd never forget..."

She smirked at him and tugged her hand away. "Then what are you looking for in a woman?" She questioned slyly. Her cool demonor crumbled slightly as her tail began to brush quickly against the table. She let her slightly sharpened canines show as she gave a smile. "Oh, now I see what you're interested in. I can promise you that much, Puss. I bet you're just a regular lion in bed, yourself."

"Oh, rarely anything to do with curves. I have to say, I certainly enjoy how feisty you are," Fifth murmured as he let his forehead gently fall against her's, tail swaying gently behind him. He grinned, showing off his own canines in the process, one of his hands landing on DS's knee and kneading softly in a way similar to a cat, though he was sure not to pierce any skin. "I've certainly gotten a compliment or two about my skills in the bedroom. But the only way to know for sure is to find out for yourself, wouldn't you agree...?"

The woman grinned at him, her eyes glowing true to her animalistic nature in the dim lighting. She already had her hands on his chest. "Mm, I do in fact. Come on, Puss. Let's go to my room. Let's see how you handle a fox, big boy."

...

Foxy Momma Part II

It was morning when the door creaked open and a little head popped in. "Momma?" The boy blinked in the dim light. A gold glint caught his eyes as he saw feathers on the floor. Mr Avenue's feathers? He frowned and began to pick them up as he made his way toward the bed. "Momma? I found...." His eyebrows furrowed as he realized there were not only feathers in the room but golden wings next to his mother. ".... momma whatcha doin' with Mr. Avenue?"

DS had winced at the light and tried to hide her head in her pillow. One hellva night had left her only slightly bruised up but feeling great. "Whaaaaat, runt?" She growled completely forgetting about the man next to her. She opened her eyes a crack coming face to face with her concerned son and a handful of feathers. "What are you going on about?"

"... is Mr. Avenue sick? Cause he's in your bed... I only get to sleep there when I'm sick."

DS jerked up suddenly then pulled up the blanket to cover herself. "s**t! What are you doing here? Greg was supposed to keep you until-! Go! Out of the room!"

"But... I wanna say hi to Mr. Avenue." He pouted still clutching the feathers.

Fifth was asleep like a rock - a boulder, at that. One of his arms was loosely wrapped around the woman sitting next to him, but it fell away as soon as the woman even moved. He made a soft noise in his throat, half-hearing what was going on but not really caring for it, flicking his ears back and doing what he could to go back to sleep.

"Devan, out or you're grounded." She hissed at the boy.

Devan didn't seem to pay any attention as he was distracted by Fifth's tail. He moves about to to give it an experimental tug before climbing up to touch at his wings.

"Devan! I told you to get out!" She hissed louder giving Fifth a look. "Don't do that!"

"Why not?"

Fifth was certainly awakened by the mountaineering trip that used his tail as a rope. Snarling despite himself at the pain that it caused, he sat up rather quickly, used to waking up... well, in a place with much more hostile people. He winced slightly at the sunlight that prodded and poked at his slight headache before glancing first at Devan, then at the woman he was in bed with, putting two and two together and looking a little... lost, really. The wing that was being pet flicked softly and he gave Devan a bit of a forced smile.

"Hey bud. What's say you head back out... into the rest of the house for a bit and I'll see you in a bit? Your mom and I have... some things to discuss. I think," he explained, ruffling Devan's fluffy hair and sending a wary smile to DS. He tugged an already-loose feather free from his wing and handed it to the boy. "I'll even give you this for your trouble."

The snarl brought DS to bare her teeth at the male. She was ready to go on the defensive to protect her son. But when he seemed to relax so did she upon instict. He wasn't a threat.

Devan giggled when the feathers ticked him and tried to hug the wing. He peered up at Fifth, his spade wrapping gently around the man's arm before letting loose. "Kay." He accepted the feather and hopped down. "Pancakes?" He questioned on his way to the door.

"Um, yah we'll... talk about it." She answered watching him walk out. "I am so freakin sorry about that. I didn't know Greg was going to just drop him off."

Fifth smiled at the endearing antics of the child, wishing that his own kids could have had the luxury to behave as such instead of growing up as fast as they did. Yet, when Devan left, he relaxed a bit more, leaning back into the pillows and raising one hand to scratch gently behind one of the woman's ears, the smile on his face very much blissful after a truly unforgettable night, despite the alcoholic blur around the edges.

"Nah, don't worry about it. By now, I've kind of gotten used to having no time to myself," he mused idly, tail flicking slowly back and forth on the bed. Despite its persistent throbbing, he did a good job to ignore the slightly worsening ache in his head. He chuckled softly and happily to himself. "Last night was better than any nights that I've had in a loooong time."

DS' eyes closed particually as an embarassing sound close to a purr escaped her. She pulled away from his hand and gave a grunt. "Yah well he still shoulda got out when I told him." She gave a slow tired smirk to the other man and stretched out. "Hey ask and you will receive, Puss. I have to admit I expected something with a bit less roar but I'm not disappointed."

Fifth chuckled at the disgruntled noise and gesture from the female, pulling his hand back and taking the time to stretch his arms as well as the rest of himself, wings stretching to cover almost the entire wall when fully extended. After a brief yawn, he compacted himself again, that same content smile coming back to his golden face.

"You shouldn't expect anything less from a lion, my dear~" he hummed happily, before giving her a deviously inquisitive look. "Ask and I shall receive, eh? Well then..." he mumbled, leaning in a bit closer to press a kiss to the woman's cheek, chuckling softly. "Perhaps I could ask to see you again some time soon?"

She watched his wings unfold. The fox had taken a keen interest in them when she was drunk. And even batted at his mantle when the feathers moved. She refused on him when they were back against his body.

"Hm?" She glanced over lazily flicking an ear in his direction. "I don't know, kid. You're not versed in how this works. Foxes like to seek you out not be saught out."

Fifth pouted softly at the answer that he received, shrugging his shoulders and getting to his feet, gathering his clothing from around the room. "If that's the case, I suppose I'll just have to change my tactic then, won't I?" he spoke, half to himself and half to DS, his tail swaying down by his legs. Awkwardly, he tugged his pants and boxers back on, briefly wondering where his shirt was before remembering that he hadn't had one in the first place.

"Maybe but then again I'm not exactly like other foxes." She tapped her necklace and slid from the bed. She grabbed her shirt then frowned. "Where the... oh you've got to be kidding me." She was looking up where her pants were hanging over the ceiling fan. How wild were they last night? A slight move to walk forward reminded her that they were very wild. "Hey, Wings," She started dubbing him with a new nickname, "use that tall sexy body and nab my damn pants will you?"

Fifth smiled a bit coyly, having already made up his mind about playing the one-night-stand card; if not acting completely disinterested, at least not acting as desperate for affection as he actually was. Stupid life, being a c**k-blocker. The mentioned wings fluttered softly when he was addressed, doing up the zipper and buttoning his pants, looking over to the woman and then to where she was looking.

"...huh," he mumbled, scratching his head. He hadn't remembered throwing those up there... or did she? Shrugging to himself, he tugged them down, not even needing to stand on his tiptoes to reach the fan. The gryphon couldn't keep his eyes from following the slight feminine curve of her body as he tossed her pants back to her. "New nickname, eh?"

DS was trying to figure out the same thing. A lot of the undressing was one big blur. She felt ridiculously short as she caught her pants and began to tug them on. There was a small space cut out of the pants entirely, rather then a hole, for her tail to sit in. "You earned one. Don't make me take it back. If you keep up last night you might get another one. Come on. I'm sure the runt is hungry or something."

"I'll try my darndest," Fifth said almost jokingly; at least, the word choice was joking. He nodded in understanding and, when the woman was fully dressed once again, opened the door for her before following into the rest of the house, yawning widely. "I'd offer to help you cook, but my skills as a chef are... honestly, nonexistent."

Devan was there the moment the two adults had the door opened. He had a bandaid in one hand and a can of soup in the other. The feathers Fifth had given him had been attached to a paper crown that he was wearing. "I'm a doctor! And I'm going to make you feel better!" He announced staring up at he man, untimidated.

"No need to worry about it... Oh jeeze." DS muttered, "You can just leave if you want to Fifth." She told him heading toward the kitchen to make breakfast for the three of them.

Fifth took a step back when the boy rushed up to the two of them, a bit surprised by his sudden appearance. He grinned, crouching down so it wasn't so hard to be eye-to-eye with the smaller male. Bright green eyes flicked up briefly to what exactly he was eye-level with on DS before they flicked up to her face and he gave an innocent smile. "Nah, don't worry about it. I'm good with kids.

"Are you really, Devan? Well, it's a good thing you're a doctor, then,"
Fifth replied to the patience boy, tumbling back in the hallway and taking up almost all of it as he lay there, spread-eagle. Melodramatically, he stuck his tongue out the side of his mouth and crossed his eyes. "Because I think something might be wrong with me."

DS gave him a small smirk that was closer to a smile before she disappeared. The sound pots and pans being moved around started shortly after.

Devan's eyes lit up like Fifth ahd just given him the best Christmas ever. "Its a good thing I gots a bandaid! Don't worry Mr. Avenue! I'll make you all better! OK, first we gotta figure out what you got. Cause it might be something as horrible as chicken pox! That's when you turn into a chicken for like a whole week! A itchy chicken!" He moved over and put his hand on Fifth's head and stood back. "What are you suptoms?"

"It sure is a good thing!" Fifth exclaimed, green eyes going wide open at the idea that he could turn into a chicken for a /whole week/! He started scratching at himself a bit frantically before began to make clucking, chicken-like noises. "Oh no! I think I'm -cluck!- I think I might have -cluck!- the chicken pox!!"

Devan's eyes went the size of saucers. "Oh no~! You can't have the chicken poxes! You'll turn into a chicken!" He looked honest to god scared like Fifth had contracted some horrible disease. "Hold on! I can fix it!" He put the bandaid in the middle of Fifth's forhead. His tail had firmly wrapped around the taller man's wrist. "I'll call um... the um other doctors. They'll help!"

Fifth noted the fact that the boy was actually afraid that something wrong might have happened, and took that as a good sign to enact his magical cure. At the bandaid pressed against his forehead, he paused for a moment then gasped.

"Nope, nope, hold on a second, bud..." he said, laying a hand gently on Devan's shoulder, patting himself down and looking astonished. "No, I don't think that you need to call anybody else, Devan! I'm cured! No more itching and no more clucking. I think I'm gon'na be okay, Doctor Devan!"

Devan's tail squeezed uncomfortably tight as he stared up at the much taller man with small pinpricks of tears in his eyes. "R-Really? You're not gonna turn into a chicken?" He asked in almost a pleading tone. "I really cured you all up?"

"Aww, kiddo," Fifth said with a soft laugh, propping himself up in the hallway and wrapping his arms around the patience child who was so close to tears. "No, I'm not gon'na turn into a chicken. You cured me all up. I think if I had any other problems, you might'a fixed those, too." He held the boy at arms length, looking into his eyes. "Alright?"

Devan snuggled closer to the man and nuzzled at his feathers. "O-Okay..." He responded shyly and wiped at his eyes. "I just wanna make sure cause I don't want you to be a chicken. How come you came over here Mr. Avenue? Are you and momma best friends now?"

Devan gave him a slightly confused look. "Oh... good friends is good. She said friends are good." He frowned slightly and shook his head. "Nuh huh... it looked fun though!"

Fifth chuckled a bit awkwardly, but smiled at the fact that at least Devan didn't look into things any further than what the gryphon had told him. "Well, your sleepovers might be a little different. Just like most things that kids and grown-ups do are at least a little bit different."

"Oh... like wrestling!" The boy says rather excitedly. "Mom and this one guy did special wrestling once but I wasn't allowed to play. Uncle Greg brought me home but said we had to go for ice cream." He said with a pout.

DS had heard all the clucking and noise and decided to join in. Her necklace was left swinging off a table chair as she crept through the halls. She was coming up behind Fifth, tail in the air, eyes locked on target. Her muzzle drew back into a slight smirk. That was until she heard what Devan was saying. Intervention! She pounced on one of his large wings as a fox.

Fifth's green eyes slowly got wider and wider at the description of what Devan had managed to walk in on. A small part of himself, at that point in time, was glad that he'd never had a chance for that to happen with Damien and Gabriel. Especially since the louder one would never have let him get away with not explaining it down to every last deal. And, Lord, he could ask that same question for days on end...

He jumped when his wing was pounced, raising it off the ground and barely keeping himself from hitting the creature against the wall impulsively. Sighing softly at the smalle creature, he lay his wing on the ground and lifted the fox up off of his wing. Unaware of who this was, he peered at it, raising an eyebrow. "You should be careful about startling me like that," he stated to it, regardless of whether or not the animal know what he was saying.

DS was rather surprised when she was hoisted off his wing. She glowered at him, fur on end and baring her teeth. A few struggles to get away from him and she looked at him with contempt. She had intended to scare him not become captured.

Devan giggled into his hands. "Whatcha doin?" He asked pleasently toward the animal. "You wanted to play too? We can play vet."

The fox cast him a roll of her eyes and kicked again trying to get free.

Fifth held the animal at arms length when it started squirming, eyebrows arching over his eyes. When Devan spoke to the critter, he glanced toward the boy curiously before letting the fox back down, deeming it not worth the effort if it was so uncomfortable. He looked to the boy curiously. "So... is the fox a pet of your's or something?" he asked obliviously, one ear flicking gently.

The fox snorted at him and kicked some dirt with her back feet. When Devan ran his fingers over her back she became more placid and even settled in the man's lap to allow her son to keep stroking her fur.

"Um... kinda... not really though. Mom doesn't mind what I call her though." He offered vaugely with a smile.

Dear Journal,

My name is Devan! Momma said I'm supposed to write in this journal. She's checking my spelling. I really like where I live. Its really cool and really fun. Momma and I have made some new friends. I like Gabe and his tail and his rainbow hair.

Momma made a friend too. His daddy Mr Avenue and her keep playing when Uncle Greg takes me out to play. They said I can't play their game. Oh well. Momma wants me to stop writing about that so...

Oh! I'm learning how not to disappear from Mr Avenue! Momma said it was driving her crazy and so I had to learn about not disappearing. Mr Avenue's real nice and I get feathers! I got a whole bunch of them and he even gave me another one for being his bestest doctor ever.

I'm having a lot of fun!

Dear Journal Thing,

Earlier this week I noticed when Devan isn't with his friends he gets kind of... lonely. Or at least that's what I think it is. He just sits down and occasionally disappears. Now, I know I'm not the best mom in the world but I'm not going to let the brat wallow away all day.

So I got the runt a little gift. One I think might cheer him up. I spent the greater part of two hours at a petstore trying to beg (and I don't kid), BEG, a rabbit to come home with us.

Why a rabbit? I hate dogs. They just chase me. Cats are the same way and I feel better having a prey in the house rather then a predator.

The rabbit didn't think so. Humans were starting to stare as I kept trying to convince this stupid rabbit I wasn't going to eat her and that she was going to a *safe* home.

Well, I swear the kid must have animal magnetism! I showed her one picture of him and that terrified look melted. She still didn't trust me but she sure as Hell came home with me this time.

If his excited squeal was any indication I'd say he's pretty damn happy. They both are. Our new addition is Luna the Rabbit. A rather large white long eared rabbit.

They played so long together that he actually fell asleep on the floor next o her. Its pretty... cute, for a lack of a better word.

I took a picture. Not that I'm sentimental or anything.

It would be on a Saturday that you open your mail box (if you have one) and notice there is a rather thick envelope stuffed in there. There is no postage stamp and a very vague return address. But you recognize the font and the company's name. 'Seven of Seven Inc' scrawled in majestic font across the upper left hand corner. As you open it, you may strangely find yourself drawn to the letter, there is a mass of notes inside. They read as follows:

Letter
Congratulations! You have managed to succeed in raising your child. (IE: Not killing him or her or getting killed yourself. Haha we kid of course.) We would like an update from you on the following:

Guardians Name:
Child's Name:
Sin:
Virtue:
Gender:
Current Attitude:
Likes:
Dislikes:
Any abnormal growths: (if any, example: Feathers molting, horns growing larger, scars )
Current hair style:
Current clothing preferences:
Dominant celestial trait: (The sin or virtue)

Please summarize in your own words how difficult or easy it was taking care of your child. Did you manage to care for them in a kindly fashion? Or were you forced to discipline them?
As well do not be alarmed if you suddenly find your child achieving a massive growth spurt in the next little while. We are finding that the children from our facility have strange growing patterns and are rather unpredictable. Although please let us know if anything unexpected occurs.

Sincerely the technicians from Seven of Seven Inc.

Ps. Please just leave your letter back in your mail box one you have completed it our courier will pick it up.

Thank you.

You would notice the letter seems overly friendly...strange since the scientist were so ...cold before.

(Just take the from Guardians name to Dominant Celestial trait and pm it to the mule, the summarization doesn't have to be long just have fun with it.)

Another letter. Devan brought it to her waving it wildly. He'd read the return address and that had been enough to send him skyrocketing for his mother. He stared at it wide eyed as she began to open it. As he leaned forward she held her breath.

She was always expecting them to revoke her right to him. Like somehow they would think it was best if he wasn't with her. The friendliness of the letter relaxed her mildly. They just wanted more information. She glanced at the child and gave him a shrug.

"Just saying you might have a growth spurt kiddo. Bought time." She gave a chuckle as he followed her example and leaned back. "Just want to ask me some questions."

Devan nodded slightly, "OK, can I help?"

A quick glance at the questionare and she shook her head. "No, sorry. I think its just me kiddo. Maybe next one, alright?"

Devan gave a nod and a small flap of his wings. "Alright... " He gave the evolope a suspicious look. "...Do you think they'll let me talk to the people at the facility?"

DS paused, "Don't you like it here?"

"Of course! I love it here! I just thought it'd be nice to see more people like me." He smiled at her and put a hand on her knee. "Really mom. I love it here."

"Yah..."

"Um... Mom..." Devan's shy and nervous voice came his room. He sounded distressed which was no surprise considering what just happened.

DS tensed at the voice and slammed the plate on the table and ran into the room. Devan rarely ever sounded upset. This was something foreign to her and she sensed immediate danger. "What is it? Are you alright?"

He was a bit surprise by the sudden and sudden bout of concern. He stumbled back into his room and hid behind the doorway. "Er, yah I guess..." Was his voice deeper? He tried to clear it and coughed a little but it still hadn't changed. "I uh..."

DS skidded into his room much to his distress and let out a gasp. Her son who had been significantly shorter then her now stood well, eye to eye with her. The clothes he'd gotten when she first picked him up now actually fit him rather then acting like a dress on the boy. "Devan?"

He flushed scarlet feeling embarrassed and nodded slightly, "Yah... I think I um had that growth spurt."

"I'll say. No wonder it took you so long, damn you're tall." She began to walk around him and grabbed his wings to bring them out to full length. He let out yelp of dismay as his feathers were yanked without his permission. "Think you can fly?"

"F-fly?" He balked, "I don't think I can! I mean, can I?" He spread them on his own and reached over to take a feather then look down at his necklace. He'd love it if he could fly. It made him want to try but he wasn't sure that would work.

DS shook her head slightly, "Wow, kid... well looks like you're growing up just fine." She put her hand on his head in affectionate gesture and ruffled his hat nearly knocking it out of his head. "You know if you were a fox you'd have to go."

"W-what? I don't have to right?" She gave him a smile and he just stared after her as she started to leave the room. "Mom? Hey... mom?"

"You're not a fox are you, kiddo?"

He gave a slight a smile and sat down trying to get used to his larger wings. "Guess I need bigger stuff." He commented to himself picking up one of his kid books. He could start clearing all this out. He was bigger now and he needed bigger things.
