Devan was once again with his Uncle. The less protective man was sitting on a park bench reading a book and smoking.
Devan was going back and forth on the swing. He was having fun but at the same time he was kind of bored. His tail was wrapped around one of the chains his he went back and forth. His wings were free from his jacket which lay on the ground beside him. He flapped to push himself higher. Secretly he imagined one day he'd let go and fly. Maybe even get as high as the gargoyles that were on the roof.
He let out a soft sigh he watched a bird float away ahead of him. He would reach that someday.

Turned out the door again... Kana grumbled to herself as she walked into the park, absently weaving a blood-web as she went. She didn't like being kicked out so often, but what could she do? Find some way to entertain herself, that was all. Kicking at a few rocks, she looked around until she spotted a swingset.
Well, that looked like fun, at least! Abandoning her web making, Kana ran off for the swingset and grabbed an unclaimed swing, glancing briefly over at the other person using it. "Hi there!" she said, grinning and showing a mouth full of sharp teeth.

Devan was so caught up in his daydreaming he almost missed the girl. He blinked when the swing next to him was taken and smiled. "Hello." He responded smiling back. He wasn't disarmed by her teeth or her strange appearance. He'd come to accept they were all different but it let him know she was from the facility.
Kicked himself a bit higher. She had four arms, he noted. That was certainly different from anything he'd seen. "My name's Devan. I've never seen anyone with four arms before. Is it neat?"

Kana blinked and thought for a long moment - no-one had ever asked her what it was like to have four arms before. Finally, she shrugged and turned to face the other spawn, her multiple eyes blinking curiously. "I guess? I mean, I've always had them so I've never really thought about it. Is it neat not having four arms?" she asked, starting so swing a little herself.
Oh, this really was kind of fun.... maybe she could make a swing out of her webs somewhere, that would be fun!

Devan had to think about that one. He looked at his own arms and paused to think about it before answering, "I think it might be less complicated. I don't know. I guess that's just something we'll have to wonder about." He gave her a smile.
He gave her a wink as he saw her start to push herself and opened his wings and gave a great thrust to send himself up much higher. "Getting really high is fun if you look at the bar. It makes you a bit dizzy."

"Probably," Kana said, starting to swing higher. "Unless I lost two of my arms or something, but even then I don't think it would be quite the same... and I'd miss them," she said, nodding and swinging herself as high as she could, as fast as she could, her bright red hair flying out behind her.
"Why does it make you dizzy?" she asked, tilting her head to stare up at the bar with her multiple eyes.

"I would hate for you to loose your arms either." The boy responded giving them a long look. "It'd probably hurt. And maybe your other arms would be lonely."
Devan had to think about this question. He glanced up at the bar and swung up high enough to pass it. Effectively it made him tingle down to his toes and caused small giggles from the boy.
"Well," He said finally as he came down. "I think its because it goes passed your vision. Your body goes one way but your eyes go another. Or something like that. Either way it makes me laugh every time."

Kana blinked, confused by that statement. "Lonely? Do you think they would be lonely?" She asked pausing in her swinging to glance down at the limbs in question. "That would be sad," she decided, before nodding. "I think I won't risk it."
Peering around, she asked another question. "Did you come here by yourself? I did."

"Probably..." Devan said looking toward his tail. He'd feel strange without it. "Good. You shouldn't. I would think it'd be best to keep them."
He shook his head, "No, my Uncle's over here on that bench. He's the one reading with the cigarette." He motioned to the man in question who looked rather at ease where he was.

"It must be nice having someone willing to go places with you," Kana said, trying to sound nonchalant about it and failing. "My Mom makes me keep busy all day and hasn't gone anywhere with me since I was little."
The redhead shrugged, an impressive undertaking with four arms, and rolled her eyes. "Not that it matters - I don't need her anyway!"

Devan paused to think about it. He guess he did. Even his mom took him places when she could. Even if she didn't really play. "...Oh? Some mom's are just busy I guess."
She did care, he decided. She cared a lot. He stood up and jumped off the swing, his tail wings flapping to break his fall. He was going to help her if he could. "Hey Uncle Greg!" He called to the man.
Greg looked up from his book and what had to be his six or seventh cigarette. "What do you need, Dev?" He said searching for any sign of trouble.
"Can my friend come to our house for a little bit? We have games and stuff there."
Gregory gazed at the four armed woman (he'd become accustomed to the strange spawn). He gave a crinkle eyed smile, "Sure. We can go to my place."
Devan held out a hand to Kana, "Do you want to go with me?"

Kana blinked, unsure about what had caused the boy to run away... she hadn't scared another person, had she? But no, he came back almost as quickly and had actually offered her his hand. "Go? Go where?" she asked, tilting her head to better regard him with all of her eyes.

"To my Uncle's house!" He stated proudly still offering his hand. She needed a grown up to be nice and he certainly had a nice one. "He's really nice."
Greg put his hands on his knees to get down to Kana's level. "Hey, I'm Gregory. Want to have dinner at my house?"

"Oh, okay then," Kana said, then turned her head to look at the grown up, watching him with wary eyes for a long moment before nodding. "Okay... I think I'd like that."

"Alright," Gregory said standing back and holding out his hand to her. "Let's go. I'll make you something to eat and we can play games for a while. Your parents won't mind, right?" He inquired with a friendly smile.
