She took a moment to glance around. A stupid mistake. Something slammed into back with a painful hiss and she let out a cry of pain. Aria toppled forward , barely remembering to move her scythe out of the way to keep from impaling herself. She skidded along the floor for a few feet. With a grunt she pushed herself up and twisted. She could barely see the hole in the back of her outfit, the corruption smoking on her skin.
Her Fear Gem tinked and she looked at it (idly wondering where it had been while she fought) and saw it leaking smoke like her back.
"This can't be good..." she muttered quietly, turning to watch the other battle.

Seeing the girl regain her strength, and that her FEAR core was no longer oozing the strange black substance, she gave a relieved sigh, dropping the crystal.
"Yes... I'm glad you're ok now." she smiled, wiping a tear away. "You had me worried."
Hearing footsteps, she turned to see a blue-haired girl approach her, and slowly pushed herself off the ground. "Hi, I'm Adelaide." She gave the girl a pleasant smile and gave a sheepish laugh. "I... suppose so, but it's never too late to make more acquaintances. Especially with... these creatures around..."
Tamara was contemplating wishes and the numbness in her back when she heard her name called. I'm here! I'm ok!" well not really but she could move fine, that was good enough, right? She walked over to Ridley not wanting to be alone.

It was clear that nobody had gotten out of this completely unscathed. Not only was the creature still presently standing, but a quick look around determined that her egg-shaped gem was not the only one to sport a few cracks here and there. Some were most definitely worse than others to boot...
She looked over towards the newly-recovered girl that Alvar had called out to, a small smile tugging at her lips at her rather chipper response. "It's a relief that you're alright," Thalia called to her, her voice filled with genuine relief despite the obvious troubled look that marred her face, "That thing, whatever it is...I don't know what exactly it's doing to us, but the thought of what would have happened had she not stepped in..."
By "she", she was clearly referring to the one who had stepped forward to help Tatiana. Offering her a polite nod of her head, she looked the girl up and down. "What was that that you used, if I may ask?" Something that was capable of healing up wounds would be most useful here, she wagered, especially considering how many people were sustaining damage.
Perking up at Arietta, Thalia let out a weak laugh despite herself, wincing as she reached back once more to touch the spot that had been struck. "Yeah, so it seems. I'm...not sure what that thing did when it hit us, but I hope it's reversible." She took a step back to look between everyone she was talking to then, noting that she didn't have names to go with many of these faces. Despite the fact that now didn't seem like the best of times--...well, who was she kidding, no time was a really good time to waste on introductions right now--she inclined her head towards each of them.
"Thalia, by the way. Mind if I grab your names real quick?"
In her eagerness to deal as much damage to the monster as possible, Kleio hadn't noticed a tendril whipping out to her and hitting her right in the back.
!!!
She gasped, doubling over in pain, legs shaking from the unexpected attack. A few moments of deep breathing made her feel somewhat better, and she managed to spot the other girls. Thalia!! She had called her, hadn't she?
The successive blasts resulted from her attacks were just like a good firework show. Nemi got up from the after-impact and her eyes turned into shining stars. "You are mighty amazing Ghost! Nemi is impressed!"" The witch put her hands encircled around the two sides of the poor candy eater and squished.
[ I am not really a ghost.....never mind. ] The ghost made a sigh.
"Are all the witches capable of doing that? Is Nemi that awesome in the past? Are you related to Nemi?"
[ ......Nope, only your kind can do that. I can't mention of any of your past, it's forbitten......Watch out! ]
Nemi was too slow to react when she felt the burning scorch at her back, the angry creature reached out one tendril quickly to take revenge, and then retreated before the girl would see it.
"Ah!" The witch let out a short cry, as if she was pushed by someone all in a sudden. She could imagine something bad happened on her back, knelt on the ground, she tried to peek how bad the wound was. It was emitting ominous black wisps that she didn't expected. Bad. So bad.
Nemi arched up just to let herself touch her back more easily. She was so afraid to just touch it, imagining how painful it would be. Several time, her hand lowered and raised up before actually contacting the area. "Nemi, you have to be brave. Just one touch will do."
The witch convinced herself before finally mustered the courage to give her back a light peck-like grosp. The constant tingles let she knew how nasty the situation was, she couldn't withstand to keep on the kneeling pose with her legs shaking so uncontrollably, instead, she just sat on the ground and took some deep breathes. It was so difficult for such a young girl to endure that amount of suffering. However, Nemi knew it wasn't a good time for rest.
She observed the trinket that she was given and watched as thick black mists escaped from it, it was much dimmer than before. Nemi picked up the soul gem between two fingers and examined it through the lights. Then, she saw the tiny invisible small cracks running on the gem. Did she just break the gem when she was attacking? Nemi had a presentiment it wasn't a good thing, she could feel some energy being dragged from her body.
========
Overwhelmed by feels and thoughts, the candy witch stood up and watched as something small but beaming being thrown out from the tendrilous creature. She hurried forward to catch the little light in her hands. Opening her hands, there was a crystal resting, about the size of the egg gem she got.
< Hang onto those, those are important! They will help replenish your Fear. Why not try using one right now? It is pretty simple, put the crystal next to your Fear core. >
There the cunning creature again. "Fluffy! You again? Nemi has many things to ask you! What's that?" The witch pointed to the tendril creature. "W-wait? What are you saying? Fear Core? You mean the gem you gave me?" She was confused but was clear enough to make the decision to keep the crystal.
"Replenish Fear? Stable? That sounds like a good thing....can it be used on others?"
< Speaking of Fear, do you remember your wish now? >
"Nemi will take it as a yes then. Wish? Nemi did remember you mentioned of "my wish" before you went away......How Nemi can remember her wish when she is amnesiac -"
{ ------- A conversation scene flashed by -------- }-
"You promise to uphold my dignity?"
< If you wish for - >
"I don't trust you any, thing, remember! However, as a noble member of my family, I will do everything to uphold its name. Even when I lost my memory, the noble blood running in me will tell me what to do. The girl gave the creature a cold eye.
< Speak out your wish.... >
"I Nemi, wish for - " The sound suddenly silenced though one could see the girl's mouth was moving.
{ ------- Conversation scene was cut off -------- }-
"That isn't Nemi! Nemi isn't that mean!" The witch shook her head and yelled at the creature as soon as she "came back" from the flash scene. Her fists were holding tight and she made some hard steps that candies bounced out from her .It was hard to believe that she was such a stony girl in the past. "Wait! Did the Past Nemi promised you to fight in return for a wish to be granted?... Hold on! What wish did Nemi make? Nemi can't remember at all! Why and when did Nemi lose her memories?!"
[ She was you, the strong and pride Nemi that I used to know. Still, I can't deny I like this "you" better, despite of all the rude actions. ] The ghost interrupted, if it could choose, it did prefer one who not treating it as merely a weapon.
"Nemi didn't want to become the past "Nemi" again.....wish....." The witch wasn't sure if her wish was granted in the past, but if she was gonna make another wish, it would be about them, all of the poor girls stuck in this place, had no choice but to fight and risked their lives.
"Nemi would wish for.....well-being of all of us! Nemi doesn't know if regaining our memories would be a good idea, but so far the girls Nemi meets want their memories back! We might have significant others that we wished to see.....I don't know....maybe reunion is what all we wish for?" The witch gave a serious look to the fluffy creature the very first time. She knew that it probably wasn't something that the past Nemi would wish for, but the Nemi there now was different, she cared about others, always wanted to see smiles on people's faces. She loved candies and cookies, she's cheerful and bright. That's Nemi, the one standing there talking to the creature.

Wish? That made her fight, maybe. But what wish...She couldn't remember anything, sitll. Then the monster poped up suddenly, and the cat-like-creature ran away. She wanted to call it back, but so frightened, she just frozen. Fortunately, mayve the power of goodluck, she attacked reflex.
And more surprisingly the result was not so bad. Awesome, she murmured even unconsciously. She had never dream to bloody hassle with something but, it maybe, not bad as she knew...
"Right!" With Cyan's encouragement, Hanna stepped in for what she hoped to be her final attack. Thrusting her sword towards the enemy, she sucked in a breath of air before calling out her attack. "HAIL OF BLADES!" On command, the creature received a quick downpour of blades to finish off her previous attack combo.

Magenta hacked, sawed away at her enemy. Her annoyances. Her shortcomings. Her self.
Izzy's warnings went unnoticed. She was too far over the edge, too enraptured by the sultry whisper of the shadows that taunted her. Too enamored by the dark, swirling power that bled through her body in each swing of her axe.
"DIE," she screamed, loudly and for all to hear. There was something deeper than a battle between foes, something far more sinister lurking under each swipe of her axe. Each crack of the earth split open a new part of her soul, each pathway unwinding and unfurling in new twisted ways.
A tiny crystal burst out of the being, a sparkle in the darkness that surrounded her. Magenta paid the object no mind. It was just another trick. Another debauchery on the creature's list. Another reason to be hated.
Strangely on cue, the small familiar showed up with the same expression he always wore.
< Your wish? >
< YoUR wisH? >
< yoUR WIHSH Y YOORH?
< Your wish? >
Magenta would never yield an answer to the question. Fissures formed down the side of her FEAR core. Inky darkness that radiated around her instead poured out from within her. Her time had ended.

Her wish, huh? What was her wish anyway? Apparently she'd made one, and ended up here. The crazy cat mutant thing said her wish was important and she needed to remember it.
Hard to remember things when your back is smoking, but a'right Cat Mutant. What was her wish... She growled, nothing coming to mind. Ugg why was she even bothering trying to remember? It wasn't like she was ever going to find the quiet she was looking for.
Wait. That didn't even make sense.
Was it... quiet she wished for? Seemed like that was an odd thing to wish for...

"Ah yes. More friends all around! I am Tatiana. Pleasure to make acquaintance," she nodded to Adelaide. As far as Thalia went in some of her musings, Tatiana tapped her chin, thinking.
"Mm. It is good question. Vhen I vent down, it felt like death! Very bad. But! All is good now," she said while looking at the colorful gems of the others. They were cracked, but they weren't horribly damaged. Meanwhile, hers was pristine once more.
"Mmm... Perhaps these gem things are tied to our 'ealth? You not feel too bad right now though, yes?" she asked the three girls. It was something to think about in any case. And there was also the matter of that crystal thing that Adelaide used to fix her up. Where could they find more of those?
"But! If ve are careful, maybe no need for more vorries. Fight side by side, like good comrades, yes?"

...she did half again! She could do this well maybe...Some kind of people thought half is super small, however, not for her. she just satisfied with that combo.
And then she heard her name, as she was still contemplating the tears that threatened to spill from some dull ache she knew nothing of Orina could only lift her head as she moved toward the sound of it. The voice was familiar, after a moment she put it to Ridley, the orange haired girl from earlier. And then Tamara was speaking up as well.
Her eyes fell on both, looking a touch beaten, but alive. That was good. "Thank goodness..." She mumbled it quietly before darting toward the pair, arms outstretched as she tugged Tamara into a hug and sniffled a bit. Right, despite the painful hollow feeling in her heart, she wasn't alone. She didn't have to be. "You're both alright?" She looked past Tamara toward Ridley, a weak smile on her face. Apparently she'd fared the best of the three of them, only a small smack to show for all of it. She untangled her arms after a moment before tilting her head to look at the both of them and pulling out the dark crystal she'd gotten. "The creature said this was important, it... heals us. But... I didn't get hurt so I wasn't going to use it yet..." She mumbled as she continued on, getting quieter as she glanced around at those still fighting. "I... maybe I should help someone who got hurt?" She was unsure, but she honestly did want to help them all. No one should die.

Maria couldn't help but feel proud of herself. Though her attacks didn't do much damage, she was able to learn how to fight. Smiling, she looked down at her staff and couldn't help but think about all the things she could do with it. She couldn't wait to find Ridley, Tamara, and Orina and tell them what had happened. Suddenly her happiness was shattered. One of the monsters tendril's hit her square in the back. She cried out in pain as she fell to the floor on her hands and knees. The strike hurt. It felt like her sin was on fire where it had hit her. Unable to see the wound, she reached back with a shaken hand and touched where she had been struck. It felt numb and tingly. She swallowed hard. Her hands were shaking as well as body. She wasn't sure of what to make about what just happened.
