Unfortunately, the thing still had some fight left in it and Lyra had let her guard down. Tendrils whipped out and she screamed out in pain, falling to the ground. A few moments later, the pain eased and she knelt on all fours, panting for a few moments before she looked up just in time to see a small crystal drop to the floor. She scrambled forward and picked it up, glancing at it.
She tilted her head at the figure and pulled out her Fear crystal; looking it over. It was covered in cracks and something was leaking out of it but it didn't look too worse for wear just yet. She put it back in her pocket, the other crystal in a different one and stood up.
"My wish?"
She rocked on her heels, thinking for a moment while her left hand rested on her lantern. "Did I wish for power? I don't remember being this strong. But at the same time, I don't remember anything.." Her lips pursed and she frowned, shaking her head. "I'm sorry, I don't remember just yet."

Finally, giving her scythe one last spin, she swung it back; holding the it there. It was then that more tendrils of shadow gathered around the scythe. All of which fed into the blade, causing it to grow larger than it previously had been before. It was then that Isabelle gave a satisfied grin.
"Devour it! Colossal Abyss!" With a yell she lunged forward, bringing the scythe around in one final arch, before driving the blade directly into the creature.
She was never going to the beach again. Tentacles sucked.
Cassandra let out another huff, pulling her boomerang down and turning toward the questions girl again (although she seemed now to have already made - other friends. People Cassandra certainly didn't know!).
It was then that it hit - a tentacle that whiffed through the air and landed a sizzling strike behind her. Andra jumped into the air, yelling.
Okay, yes, no beach. And no calamari. Wow, that smarted - it had hit just above the turtle shell, between her young tender shoulder blades (she knew, at least, that she was young. And tender!). She winced and turned tail and - well, she ran a short distance, but really there were so many girls in this place that she couldn't get far. Oh, but what if -
She swung the shell off her back and held it in front of her, glancing back at the people around her. It could totally protect her, right? Even though it hadn't helped her avoid the strike on her shoulders at all...

Perhaps a hammer wasn't the best to combo with, as an attack came up form behind Arietta. She swung her hammer around to block, barely avoiding the attack.
Kaimari felt like she was being watched. She opened her blue eyes to see.. a cat? She brushed her brown hair aside.
She just blinked at the creature, staring. 'Its mouth didn't even move!', she thought. And those eyes seemed to be staring right through her. Into her soul... 'Creepy.'
"To sleep?" Kai raised an eyebrow. The creature didn't even flinch.
"Fight?" She asked, getting up. "In THIS?" She gestured at her black and orange schoolgirl outfit. Though it wasn't her style of dress that disturbed her, it actually felt comforting. Like she belonged somewhere. The thought made her happy... hopeful. A similar feeling enamated from some kind of orange marble lying on the floor.
"Fear?" 'Isn't that a bad thing?' She picked up the marble carefully as the creature continued. It was strange, the marble felt extremely important to her. Almost necessary. Like a beating heart. Whatever it was, it has to do with all this. And there was no way she was going to let anything happen to it.
< Ah, let me explain a little better. There are many kinds of Fear. There is kind, benign Fear, taken from Humans, to help our world. Then there is a terrible type of Fear that would take without considering the balance between Humans and Halloween. >
"Halloween?" That would explain the costume.
< You have been chosen to restore this balance of course. Your weapon will help you do this. As a Reaper, skilled in using Fear in weapons, I'm sure you using this weapon is natural to you! >
"Reaping what? Wheat?" She picked up the weapon, an ornate black scythe covered in an intricate silver design that resembled brambles. The heaviness of the weapon felt familiar, but it was silly. Maybe it had been an expensive replica movie prop.
"Wait! What happened to the-?" Kai tried to find the creature, but it had vanished. She only had a second to notice there were others before something attacked!

A giant kitty mecha may or may not have appeared for a brief moment, although few could tell, since it went flying in the distance as quickly as it appeared..
She knew she could be so much more. Even as she brought her nunchuku down, hand extending to deal the final blow, Orabel could feel the power escaping her.
This was not meant to happen. She wanted more... she needed more.
"To the beyond with you! Vorpal Shatter Submerge!"
"Sounds good to me." Shifting off to the side, she aimed another swift strike at the boss, hoping that it was enough to prove effective against the creature. With everyone hacking away it this thing, they would hopefully not run into too much difficulty.
"Your move!" She called to Cyan, preparing for her next and final attack.

Landing on the opposite side of the shadowy monster this time, Milo quickly looked behind her, privately proud of her own small trail of carnage that she was leaving. She was breathing hard, and she was still trembling with a bit of fear, but the adrenaline rush was really starting to hit her. This wasn't so bad after all!
Heck, Milo felt like she might be able to do anything -- and more! That big ugly monster wasn't so scary. It hadn't even hit her! She whirled around, her confidence bolstered by her success, and raised her shortsword high in the air.
"FLURRIES OF FURY!" she squeaked, and then lunged one final time at the monster. Tiny snow crystals burst from the tip of her blade like little daggers, assaulting the shadowy mass until Milo plunged her sword as far in as it would go.
Her sword arm was weak, and unfortunately it only went in a few inches before she could yank it out.
When Gwyn woke up, tears ran freely down her face. But she wasn't crying. If she had been, then she didn't know what caused it. She didn't remember feeling sad. She couldn't remember much of anything, actually.
Ah! I'm glad you finally woke up! How are you feeling?
"I'm mad as hell!" What she knew now was that felt angry, but she didn't know why. Not knowing this made her even more pissed. Her mouth was dry, her heart raced, and her hands were wet with sweat.
You don't remember anything? That is rather unfortunate and oddly inconvenient. Shall I remind you of why you are here?
Why the hell would it ask her a stupid question like that? It already knew she didn't remember anything, so of course she'd want a reminder! She looked down, winced, held her head in her hands, and massaged her temples. She was so frustrated that she was beginning to get a headache. "Yes, please!"
Very well, it is good for you to understand the truth. You are here because you chose to fight.
Finally! Finally she was getting some answers. Well, it was more of an answer, really. It was good enough for her, anyway. "I did." It was both a statement and a question. She didn't remember doing that, but she did think it sounded like something she'd do. She definitely wasn't the sort of person to back down from a fight.
This item next to you is important, don't forget it. This is where you keep your power, your Fear. Did you forget what Fear was as well?
She looked next to her. Was that a gun? What would she need that for? She rolled her hands around to gesture that she wanted it to go on.
Ah, let me explain a little better. There are many kinds of Fear. There is kind, benign Fear, taken from Humans, to help our world. Then there is a terrible type of Fear that would take without considering the balance between Humans and Halloween.
"That makes sense. I guess."
You have been chosen to restore this balance of course. Your weapon will help you do this. As a Reaper, skilled in using Fear in weapons, I'm sure you using this weapon is natural to you!
She picked the gun up off the ground next to her and held it cupped in both hands. She looked down at it. "This? ...I'll just have to take your word for it."
Honestly I would have asked the others, but unfortunately you are the only ones that remain. The Humans are counting on you to save them! Good luck!
"No, wait, don't leave! I have more questions!" She punched the ground next to her. "Ffff!"
(OOC: Prompt 2.)
Gwyn had to hand to that thing. It was right. Summoning and using this weapon came as easily as standing up. Or walking. Or running. Or screaming obscenities.
She held the gun in her hands and pulled the trigger. A cherry pit shot out and hit something. It looked rather pathetic. It seriously bounced off the target and fell on the ground. "Good god, that sucked."
[ *sighs* Yep. Poor amnesia witch. That's how you fight. ]
"Nemi should continue? Yesu! Nemi would help other girls!" She jogged a bit to summon more candies, if her weapon needs candies, she didn't need to worry.
"Be careful girls! Nemi is gonna shoooooooooot!" It's a bit weird to just holding such a tiny thing while yelling to warn the girls in front of her. Nemi stuffed more candies into the ghost's mouth, making it nearly explode and held it high and far for the release.
"FFFFFFFFFFIRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEE!"

At least she had the intuition to grab her weapon before running into the battle full-force! She swung the blade down, and successfully hurt the creature. But it wasn't over!
As much as she could hope that her little spot on the ground would leave her unnoticed, or at least away from the creature. It's reach was incredible and impeccable. Lashing limbs, crashing into other girls. Flailing about in its wild attempts to thwart their efforts.
Ridley hissed as a dark shade lashed into her side, toppling her over and to her side as she hissed from the sting and the fury of it. She cried out in pain and she could feel her legs shake from the blow; yeah, she wasn't going to be getting up right away from this. Hesitant, she tilted her head to see the damage, eyes widening at the sight of corrosion and the black wisps that seemed to escape from her body.
Wha? She awkwardly pressed her hand against it. Numb, as if the nerves and feeling had been washed away before the pain seemed to follow along with it. The orange haired girl could feel the spot cooling to the touch, like it didn't hurt at all. Well, that took a bit. But inside, it hurt. A sting, like that attack had hit something deeper.
