Teddy's arms were crossed as he nodded in agreement with Matt. Whilst he had encountered a couple of Kanto native Pokemon, the amount of non-native was definitely higher. He thought back to the Burmy, Munchlax and practically the entire Wurmple evolutionary line. Before Teddy could agree verbally however, in the ongoing crusade of superb timing, Matt had been ambushed by a Beedrill. Teddy rushed over to watch the battle unfold only for Matt's Mudkip to finish it in no time at all. "Well I suppose you can take bac-" Teddy went to start, only for a Metapod to fall from the tree that Beedrill hit.
Another battle for Matt ensued and was wrapped up just as quickly as the first one. Teddy gave an approving nod as Matt finished up, turning into a scattered applause. "Well that looks like a good finish for our time in the forest. I don't know about you, but I say we rush out of here and to the next city!"

Matt Teddy suggested rushing out of the forest and finally being done with this place. Matt nodded in eager agreement. "We have to be close to the exit by now, right?" Matt asked. The two turned right through the corridor of trees that had slowly began to form as they got further into the forest, and entered a long line with a bright light at the end. The final length of the Viridian Forest was essentially a hallway about the width of three people, with tall grass all the way to the exit. "There's the exit! Pewter City, here we come!" Matt practically cheered as he started running towards the exit nearly fifty feet in front of them. Before he had even ran twenty feet, the light of the exit was blocked by the silhouette of something. Matt skidded to a stop just short of the horned shadow that was casted forward. Matt stared for a moment at the figure before realizing what it was with a eager grin slowly spreading across his face. In front of him stood a Heracross, and a very powerful one from the look of it. Matt looked back at Teddy as he pulled a Pokeball off of his belt. "Let me take care of this roadblock... Please."

"Bulbasaur, go!" Matt yelled as he threw the Pokeball forward while running forward. Bulbasaur came out ready for a battle, sensing its trainers feelings. The two ran forward towards the Heracross, who began charging as well. Matt had his Pokedex out and was using it to monitor Bulbasaur's stats. It was then that he noticed Bulbasaur had recently leveled up and learned Vine Whip. "Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip! Don't let it get close!" Matt commanded, knowing a direct attack from Heracross would probably knock out any of his Pokemon. Bulbasaur slid to a stop as two vines shot out of its bulb and launched at Heracross. The Bug Pokemon swayed to the side to dodge the first, but was hit by the second and pushed to a stop. It narrowed its eyes at Bulbasaur and lowered its head and began to charge. Crap, Horn Attack..."Swap! Go, Sableye!" Matt said as he simultaneously returned Bulbasaur to its Pokeball and sent Sableye out in its place. The Normal attack phased through Sableye and Heracross fell forward. "Sabababa!~" Sableye chuckled. "Sableye, use Zen Headbutt while it's down!" Matt commanded, hoping Sableye would listen since this was their first actual battle. Surprisingly, Sableye charged forward and hit the Heracross in the back as it was getting up, knocking it back down. The Ghost-type landed on its feet and began dancing and chuckling mockingly. Heracross seemed to have flinched and wasn't able to move, and Matt saw this as a chance to switch out. "Let's finish this, Mudkip!" Matt said, swapping Pokemon again. Mudkip came out to replace Sableye, a determined look on its face. "Mudkip, use Mud-slap then Tackle!" Matt said, and Mudkip did so, slapping the ground with its fin and sending dirt and mud into the just recovering Heracross' eyes. Heracross blinding thrusted it arms out, missing Mudkip completely. Mudkip responded with a Tackle, that knocked the Heracross back even further. Matt pulled out an empty Pokeball and could feel his hands shaking with excitement. It was this feeling that he had wanted to become a Pokemon Trainer for. He threw the Pokeball forward with all his might as the Heracross struggled to remain standing. "Heracross, you're mine now!" He yelled as the Pokeball hit the Pokemon directly and pulled it inside with a bright red energy. Matt remained montionless as the Pokeball shook back and forth three times before finally dinging, signalling the Pokemon had been caught. "Yes!!" Matt cheered, jumping into the air throwing his arm out, "You guys did amazing!" He continued, talking to the Pokemon in their balls. Matt walked up to the Pokeball and picked it up, looking at it for a moment before clipping it to the sixth slot on his belt. "You battled really well too, Heracross. Let's get you healed up." Matt then looked back at Teddy, realizing he was cheering right in front of him and got embarrassed over how excited he had been acting. "I mean... Let's get out of this forest." He said, pulling his beanie down a bit over his face.

As Matt agreed with Teddy's suggestion to finally leave Viridian Forest, Teddy could see the light at the end of the tunnel, a clearing where the trees ended and the forest began. He could feel the sun's rays hit him from where he had been standing. Entranced, he ran towards the clearing, only to be stopped by a large silhouette of a Pokemon. Could it have been? The Pokemon Matt had been waiting for since they entered the forest. "Finally" Teddy muttered under his breath, astounded. Matt moved ahead of him, asking to take care of the roadblock and Teddy obliged.
The ensuing battle was tough. It seemed that Matt switched through all of his Pokemon, some that Teddy had never seen. Such fluid battle techniques Teddy thought. Then the moment came and Matt threw the Pokeball at the Heracross, enveloping it in a red light. It was a tense few seconds as the ball shook. When it stopped and the Heracross was caught, Teddy practically leapt up into the air, cheering loudly. Matt had turned around and become embarrassed but Teddy ran up to him and slapped him on the back firmly. "You did it man! The mighty Heracross. Your white Wailmer! What a perfect ending to this crusade!" he yelled.
Teddy turned his head forward to the clearing once more.
"That Heracross will be helpful in the battles to come. To Pewter City we go." Teddy said, with a wide smile he ran forward and out of the forest.

Matt was so focused on the Pokemon in front of him that he hadn't even heard Teddy's murmured remark before he charged into battle. After successfully capturing Heracross, Matt got a bit embarrassed over how excited he got, but some kind words and a solid pat on the back from Teddy helped reduce the redness. However, the pat on the back also caught him off guard and Matt stumbled forward and the jar of honey in his backpack fell out and crashed into the tree. Before Matt even had a chance to try to clean it up a wild Combee appeared ironically enough. Matt was so sick of this forest, but one final battle meant a little extra experience for his Pokemon. He sent out Bulbasaur and after a few turns was able to defeat it. Matt returned Bulbasaur to its Pokeball and chased after Teddy, who had already left the forest and was probably in Pewter City by now.

"I don't know if I really needed another jar of honey, you know?" Hayes said, looking down at the two Pokemon that had followed him from the city; a Staryu and Ditto he'd encountered by chance. The pair of them looked up at him in response, and he wondered if they understood the dilemma... probably not, he thought. It was only a concern for him after all; he felt like he'd run into enough Pokemon in the forest to last him a while, considering everything that had happened in here. "...I doubt either of you have much of an opinion on it, huh?" He asked, although he didn't get any sort of answer. It was an interesting challenge to discern what the two of them were thinking, or at least Staryu. Ditto had been an expressive sort in comparison, at least back at the pond, and it looked confused at the question... or it didn't have an opinion on it. An idea came to mind, however, and he reached into the bag and pulled out the jar.
"I'll put about half of it on a tree, and..." He began, opening the jar of honey and heading over to the nearest tree. Ditto and Staryu seemed interested in it as they watched him pour it on the side of the tree after crouching down in front of it. "...I'll let you each have some." He finished, turning in their direction and holding up the jar in one hand so they could see it; in truth he didn't know if they'd like it, but he figured everyone and everything had a bit of a sweet tooth... and if they didn't, he'd leave the rest of it for a wild Pokemon to find after they'd moved on. Unfortunately, a noise from nearby bushes in the vicinity of the tree had him realizing a wild Pokemon might've already found it and been approaching. Hayes started to back up as soon as he heard the noise, turning back in the direction of the tree so he could see whatever was coming as he did so; Ditto and Staryu staring at the movement as well until it revealed itself.
A tough battle followed the Pokemon's appearance where Hayes used both Ditto and Staryu, an interesting experience considering he'd never battled with either of them. After they were done they all headed further into the forest.

"Alright, alright... I think that's enough." Hayes sighed, returning Ditto and Staryu to their Pokeballs after another battle. It had been against two Kakuna's, and Staryu had ended up battling in order to defend an injured Ditto... although he wasn't convinced the pair of bug-types had been planning on anything, it had been an impressive performance all the same. And a unique battle, he thought. It'd been relatively straight forward, but it was still a double battle.
He pressed on after returning the two of them to their Pokeballs and clipped them onto his side afterwards. It looked like he'd gotten a fair way into the forest, as he thought he could recognize where he was... it wasn't too far away from where they'd camped, which might've explained the Kakuna; he remembered Teddy had battled a Beedril and him and Matt had discussed them a bit, talking about how territorial they were... maybe they had been near a nest after all? The thought had Hayes speed up a step or two, because if that was the case he didn't want to end up being attacked by a group of Beedril; and on an unrelated note, he could tell if he didn't hurry up he could end up in the forest at night again.

It looked like he was making good time, he thought, as he'd found the trail they'd been on after leaving in the morning. If he kept it up he'd be out of the forest in no time at all... but that's when he noticed it again; a glint from in the grass, as if something had caught the light. He thought it a good thing, at first, knowing it meant he'd reached the spot the three of them had been at earlier... and if that was the case, he could ease up a bit and enjoy the scenery; the forest hadn't been kind to him, but it was still an impressive place. Hayes stopped once he realized he'd reached the place from earlier, and decided he'd pick up the empty jar of honey after a moment. If it hadn't been picked up by anyone else by now, it might end up a permanent part of the forest; and that'd add up in a hurry if everyone started to leave them in the forest. A moment of time to pick it up and drop it off in town wasn't any trouble, after all, and it kept the place clean.
As soon as he'd parted the grass, however, he could hear a rustling in it... and on the other side of the trail? ...And in the leaves above? An alarm bell was starting to go off in his head as it sounded like there were Pokemon all around him; surely he couldn't be that unlucky, right? He tried to take a step back, but a trio of Pokemon came out from the grass he'd parted a short distance away from him, and he could hear another one emerging on the other side of the trail as a Pidgeotto emerged from the tree's above. It looked like he could be that unlucky... but a familiar noise caught his attention a moment before he'd reached for a Pokeball; one he knew all too well. Hayes looked around after he'd heard it and in the not-too-far distance he could see a red blur approaching, and it had a familiar look about it that he recognized. All the other Pokemon had taken note of it's approach as well, it looked like, and they didn't look all that impressed by it.
A battle followed it's appearance, but it wasn't much of one; Rotom had flew in and looked like it'd been preparing a charge on the way, and after a few unsuccessful attempts by the Poke-Horde, it let loose a discharge of electricity... and that'd been it. As always, Rotom appeared to be more of a force of nature as far as he was concerned... effortlessly dealing with a horde of Pokemon after coming out from who knows where. It was a strange one, he thought, looking at it.
"Rotom..." Hayes started, catching its attention as it flew around; it looked pleased.

Before he had a chance to say anything to it, the grass started to move again... it wasn't over. Rotom didn't seem to mind as it ignored all the movement and headed over to him, still looking as pleased as ever as it floated around him.
"Alright, then..." Hayes said after a moment, realizing it didn't intend to help as all the wild Pokemon made their way out of the grass; it looked like once had been enough. He reached down to the Pokeballs on his side and unclipped Bulbasaur's, pressing down on it's center and expanding it before he tossed it in front of him; watching as it appeared on the ground before him. If there was a Pokemon he knew would be able to handle it, it'd be Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur looked back at him after it'd taken shape and titled it's head at Rotom, who flew down near it and circled around it in response. It took a second or two before he realized they'd never been around each other, or at least Bulbasaur hadn't.
"Are you planning on helping?" Hayes asked Rotom after a time, and it stopped in mid-air and looked back at him... and then darted off.
It wasn't a surprise, but all the same it hadn't been nice to watch it take off in response to the question and leave it all to Bulbasaur. After it left, Hayes and Bulbasaur battled the horde by themselves; and although Hayes almost switched it out a couple times, it appeared determined to tough it out... and eventually it did, beating all of the Pokemon on it's own. It hadn't been easy, though, and Bulbasaur looked even more exhausted than when he'd brought it into the PokeCenter by the end of it; it had been the sternest test for the two of them by far. After he'd checked on it and applauded Bulbasaur, he returned it to it's Pokeball and headed out of the forest, already in need of another PokeCenter visit.

Slipping out of Viridian city Fremy rod Rapidash to the edge of Viridian forest. The spring growth was showing heavily in the wilds. New bright green vines and leaves doted the aging tree's. New growth on the underbrush and wild flowers scattered about the landscape sporadically. The only way through the forest were the trails used by pokemon trainers. At this point if no one had come to try and capture her or retake the Bulbasaur she could make the assumption she was free and clear. The night before she'd set the pokedex to ID her under the faults name Victoria L. Chimary.
It was still before dawn. Only a sliver of the suns light had broken over the horizon casting the early morning sky in a beautiful painting of reds, oranges and yellows. The nocturnal pokemon where retreating back to their caves, and burrows and places of sleep while the diurnal pokemon awoke and stretch preparing for the day ahead.
Fremy was directed Rapidash through one of the many trails that cut through the forest. The end destination was Pewter city and the goal was to beat Brook the gym leader, collect him gym badge and move onto Misty as quickly as possible.

Fallowing the main trail through the forest ensured Fremy kept to the most open path encase she needed to make a quick run for it. A closed in or thicker trail would be better for escaping if she was on foot but on Rapidash back she needed the more open and clear trail. She didn't want to risk Rapidash running into anything and potentially hurting itself trying to dodge around tree's or rocks. The open path also meant a high chance of encountering wild pokemon such as the Pidgey that had just landed not to far up the trail.
Fremy pulled back the reigns to halt the Rapidash's advance turning him to the side so she wouldn't scare the bird pokemon off. This was a good chance to test the new pokemon out. Fremy's other pokemon already understood her job and those whom had resisted she'd sold or traded away. The Bulbasaur regardless of its like or dislike of her couldn't be traded for something more obedient. Pulling from her belt the signature silver white orb she used fremy tossed the orb into the air. The orb burst open and a light released the cream white grass type. "Prove yourself." Fremy said pointing to the Pidgey poking its head out from the grass to see what was going on. "Tackle." Fremy commanded solemnly. "Bulba!" The Bulbasaur replayed before rushing the unsuspecting bird. Bulbasaur crashed intomthe bird right as it was about to take off knocking it out cold.

Fremy didn't react as the Bulbasaur defeated the bird pokemon. It was an easy win so there wasn't any us getting excited over this. Fremy pulled a second white pokeball from her purse and tossed it at the defeated bird and captured it. Pidgeys where very common so it wasn't worth anything but once it evolve into a Pidgeot she might be able to sell it off.

"Return" Fremy said recalling the Bulbasaur before dismounted Rapidash to retrieve the pokeball. It was still early morning hours so she was making good time so far. Retrieving the orb Fremy shrunk and snapped it to her belt before preparing to remount Rapidash. Fremy was just about to pull herself up when motion in her peripheral vision caught her attention. A young male, around eighteen, Nineteen was coming her way. She paused to for a moment to watch him. Based on his attire, and body language she could tell he was wealthy, born into it at that. He also seemed overly confident and dimwitted which made him a prime target for a robbery. Fremy pulled herself up onto the pokemon's back and snapped the reigns hard. Rapidash bolted forward into the treeline before they could be spotted. Fremy had done this hundreds of times so she knew what she was doing. The element of surprise was essential for this sort of thing after all. she was going to rob the guy blind and leave him with nothing.
Releasing Noctowl once they where a good few meters into the tree line and hopefully out of sight. The plan was simply Noctowl would get the mans attention then using the move hypnosis the bird would knock the guy out cold. Fremy would then swoop in and clean his pockets. The trees in Viridian Forest were a lot larger than Alexis had imagined. Their thick branches hung in the air, blocking most of the sun with a canopy of leaves. Sunbeams danced around, twinkling like stars as the leaves swayed in the wind. The wind, however, seemed to only reach the tops of the trees. The air around Alexis was humid and damp. It wasn't long before she had to remove her lab coat, folding it neatly into her backpack.
She continued down the path, stopping to draw the various fauna that surrounded her. She knew that she should be training her Pokemon - preparing herself for the first gym. However she just couldn't get past the beauty of it all. For her whole life, Alexis kept herself indoors behind her books. It only took a few days of being a Pokemon Trainer to make her completely regret not going camping her her brothers.
