Elijah, or Eli, for short, was born in quite a gloomy place in the Kanto region. His family made a business out of grave decorations and accessories for those wishing to bury their prized Pokemon. Eli was always considered scary or weird by kids who lived in other cities, as his insomniac status gave him an eerie appearance, sort of like a ghost. Additionally, her always dressed very loudly, dyeing his hair pink and wearing oversized ponchos.
Eventually Eli asked permission to to chase his true calling as a Pokemon trainer, which his parents reluctantly granted.
