Sebastian scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Oh, is that all then? I thought I’d leave the Unova championship to you." He joked, smirking a little at the though. He listened curiously as Jay described the item in further detail. "Really? That… that sounds like a worthwhile investment." Maybe he’d have to pick up some of this remedy for himself; he could think of a few members on his team who could use a little help in training. When Jay offered up the coins, Sebastian was once more hesitant before finally fishing out a bag to hold them with. He had hald a mind to not actually take half or just, take less or hell, slip it back into the bag. Jay… well Jay wouldn’t notice would he? But that was… well that was just plain rude and downright seemed like being a jerk. Counting out half, he tucked them away and smiled a little. He noted that Jay didn’t answer him on the cost of the remedy… he had a sneaking suspicion it was in the ball park of ‘quite a bit’. "Thanks Jay, I really appreciate it." Sebastian remarked sincerely. "If you need any to help you get that remedy though, you let me know. I’d be happy to fork over some." And he entirely meant it. He’d rather be helping a pokemon than hording tokens for no reason.
"We’d just have to make sure there was enough. You’d be fiiinnneee." Sebastian mused, nudging Jay a bit as he joked. At the mention of competing he frowned a little. Oh dear, that hadn’t been his intention. Though it probably made sense that Jay would enter into some of the contests too. They seemed like a really good haul if you won. At the mention of the legendary stuff though, he became slightly confused. "Well I mean… I just figured it was a manner of speech; that it was just a fancy way of calling it a grand prize or something." He remarked, an eyebrow quirking. "Is there something more to the word ‘legendary’ than they were putting on?"
Once Jay was settled and ready to go, Sebastian gave an affirmative nod and started to lead the way. It was probably good fortune to be at the main entrance; a vast majority of the booths were right there after all. Soon they were pausing outside of one and Sebastian’s eyes went wide at all the selections. "Whoa… they have… a lot of stuff." He murmured as he took a look. TMs, items of various sorts –were those mega stones he saw behind one of the locked cases? This was crazy. "What’d you say it was again? Herbal remedy or something?" Sebastian inquired of the cowboy, gaze zooming over the cases to locate the aforementioned item. He was rather curious about it now…

That bullseye that Rummy miraculously managed was the only good luck he’d had in all these games. He was straight up terrible at them it seemed. The bean bag toss had been a hectic mess of flinging the bags like a crazy. He’d nearly launched himself across the field trying to work the catapult on his own. The stall attendant probably regretted giving such a spastic creature rocks to throw at the shatter the platter game because they went practically in every direction but at the platters. And the crossbow game… well, yeah that was a straight up hazard too.
The Leafeon wasn’t even aware that there were tokens to be collected! It was a good thing Gin was paying attention and directing the Houndoom to follow Rummy and retrieve the winnings he’d left behind. They finally managed to catch up to him just as he flung his head back from the water bucket mouth loaded with berries. Well okay maybe there was one thing he was good at…

Sylvia, who had expected Apollo to already be through the line and now searching for her, was more than a little disappointed when she found her trainer was still waiting in line. What had happened!? Had he be been cut, or was the line just that slow? Maybe she'd just underestimated how fast she'd go through those games... Whatever the case, there wasn't any food ready for her, which meant she still had games to play. With an inward groan and a very visible eye roll she returned to the games, starting with the bean bag toss first, like always.

Sylvia grumbled to herself quietly as she slithered on to the next few games, her long body easily dividing up the crowd as she passed through-- though she remained indifferent to it, either she just didn't care or she had failed to notice. She was hungry, for something besides berries, and she was starting to get tired of playing the same six games over and over. She'd more than gotten used to her new form, though the fact that she could no longer punch was still a sore subject, and was eager to test out the new strength she undoubtedly held. Despite her eagerness, however, she was still stuck playing games, at least until Apollo got out of that Arceus forsaken line and let her eat. Until then, she'd play a few more games, bide her time, and earn Apollo a few more coins.

As much as she disliked it Sylvia eventually returned to the race tracks, her eyes full of disinterest and fully prepared to receive disappointment, once again. Arceus just loved proving her wrong, however, or maybe it was finally taking pity on her. Whatever the reason it didn't change the fact that, for once, Sylvia's Rapidash actually managed to take first place, and with quite a gap between it and the rest of the racers. Hmph, so maybe those horses could be trusted? ...Well, maybe she wouldn't go that far, but she was impressed. The win helped to improve her mood, slightly, and she moved off to the last set of games. Before dunking her head in the water, she briefly wondered if the attendants changed the water after every attempt was made, but the thought had only occurred to her seconds before she dove into the water. When she came back up, berries in mouth and soaked, she could only pray that the answer was yes. Although she wasn't a clean freak, the idea of willingly dunking her head in sullied water wasn't appealing.

The bursts of luck seemed to come and go for Rummy, and it showed. He’d rushed back to the bean bag toss game and chucked with a little less craziness, landing himself two in the holes. His jubilation over this achievement carried over as he tried the catapult once more. Unfortunately, he still didn’t seem to understand that he was supposed to be launching the plushie and not himself and the attendant rushing to stop him ultimately resulted in him just falling out of the catapult and flat on his face. Good grief this was a bit horrifying…

It only seemed to get worse. Gin and Blackjack were actually having trouble keeping everyone together while also chasing Rummy down. He moved pretty fast; it also didn’t help that he didn’t seem to give pause at any of the stations as he moved. He went for the shatter the platter game once more, once more flinging rocks crazily about and only striking one. When it came to the crossbow game… well. It would’ve probably been a good idea to ban him from playing it right there and then. Of course, they couldn’t. He’d managed to stick the bolts only in the targets after all… but there was a bit of dodging going on the process.

Leon chuckled as Apollo said the turkey leg was at least fit for a king and a loyal knight. They waited in line, and the blond responded to a text while waiting. That had Leon check his own communication device, a bit disappointed to not see anything. "No, not yet..." Leon sighed in response to Apollo's questioning. He tried not to dwell too much on not hearing anything from Isis yet. He snorted as the blond teased him. "Your Highness, I'm appalled that you'd think I'd make up such a thing!" Leon joked, chuckling a bit. "I probably just caught her at a busy time." he commented. Soon, they should be able to get their turkey legs.
Vinny, meanwhile, was still playing games, though he kept feeling tempted to mess around with some of the people that were about the fair.

Upon landing this time, Cyrus slid off of Judal, feeling sick to his stomach. That was more than enough flying for him. It was a good thing they landed a ways outside of the main entrance to the fair; Cy was on the ground for a while with his head tucked between his knees, trying to get over the nausea from flying. He really hated this form of transportation, but it was horribly convenient. Once the world stopped spinning for him, the Egyptian returned the eagle, standing up and heading into Anville town to heal up the Zoroark. With that finished, he went back towards the fair, staying out of the way of most bystanders.
Off to the side, he released the dark type from it's ball, greeted with a snarl. "So... you think you can just catch me, huh? Just cause you have that ball doesn't mean i'm gonna listen to you." she sneered at Cyrus, arms crossed. Unlike most others of her kind, she kept her Zoroark form. The Egyptian returned the facial expression. "I don't care if you don't want to listen to me, Zoroark." he replied, his arms crossed as well. "Bandit. My name is Bandit and you better call me by that or so help me I will swat your head clean off of your shoulders." she snarled, hackles raised. Cyrus rolled his eyes. Figures he'd end up catching a Zoroark that had already named itself. Didn't really matter, since he wasn't even going to name them anyways. But that name was oddly fitting for such a pokemon, too. "Right. Bandit. Whatever. It's not like you were doing much in those woods, anyways. Heck, you didn't even have any other zorua with you." Cyrus muttered. Bandit didn't have much to say on that. He was right on that; she didn't have a pack. Most of her pack had disappeared years ago and since then, she hadn't associated with any other local zoroarks. "Anyways... I was just looking for a capable companion, and a creature like you, Bandit, seems like the type that could get along in my line of work. Might even say you could benefit from it." Cyrus explained. "Keep talking, short-stack." the fox stated, wanting him to just get to the point. === Cyrus, now having made a deal to have Bandit work with him at the fair, finally entered the fair once more. He fully intended to stay for now. No more flying off to do things. In fact, he'd probably end up leaving by train. The thought of his feet leaving the ground once more was enough to make him uneasy again, so it was the best plan. As per the deal, Bandit went off on her own to play some of the games at the fair, collecting tokens. She could sense there were others of her kind in disguise around the event, but she felt no need to disguise herself. At least not yet.
Before he started to put any pick pocketing plans into action, Cyrus noticed that Apollo had responded. Without putting much thought into it, he responded and sent the text. With that finished, he slipped into the crowds, looking out for any easy targets.
Text to Apollo
Well, you aren't someone that's very easy to forget.
Huh, i thought you'd be ahead of me still... Training can be a hassle. I'm taking a break for now, though.

Jay scoffs a bit. "Yeah ah don' think so," he remarked, "Ahm not sure ahm really thuh champion type. But yew can rock that title, certainly." He placed his hands in his pockets, nodding with a smile as Sebastian seemed to finally accept the offer fo taking some of the coins. He would make sure it felt about half the weight when it was given back, too, not so much because he didn't trust Sebastian, but because he knew his friend was a good person, and might feel bad taking the coins with Koda's remedy on the line. Jay was adamant about the offer, though; Koda had looked a bit better after the rare candies, and, if anything, he would, and could, ask for a temporary loan from Sebastian if things took a turn for the worse. "No problem. Ah'll keep that in mind, too. Ain't gonna lie, if'n ah need it, ah'll ask fer it, but hopefully ah can get enough on mah own."
Jay chuckled a bit. "Well then, if ah get some concussion from insufficient paddin', ah'll be suin' yew for false advisement, good sir," he remarked, giving a tip of his head and a smirk. When Sebastian admitted his lack of knowledge over the lottery, though, he sighed. "Sebs, no offense, but yew should really educate yerself 'fore gettin' yerself into things. This time, ah mean, ain't a bad outcome, but... The legendary lotto's fer a legendary summonin' item. As in.... an item that'll summon a legendary pok'mon," he explained. He knew he was being a bit blunt here, but he meant it. It wasn't good to invest stuff in something you knew so little about. Especially when it was something that big. After all, winning that kind of lotto.... it could make you a target to some people.
Jay followed along with Sebastian until they evidently reached a prize booth. "Oh yeah? Anythin' special?" he queried. He paused, shifting a bit and rubbing the back of his neck. "Ah, yeah... Herbal remedy..." he admitted, frowning a little. Maybe if he was lucky, the woman would have remembered the price wrong?

"I’m sure you’d make a great champion, what are you talking about?" Sebastian said, an eyebrow quirking up in surprise at Jay’s following remark."Oh yeah? You really think so?" He inquired thoughtfully. Being a champion… that was a pretty big deal. And a pretty big job; it kind of had a ring to it but he wasn’t any more sure that he could manage something like that if he even got that far. It was a nice pipe dream to consider though. With the coin distribution handled, he smiled and nodded. "Of course! I wouldn’t mind at all." He grinned. Hopefully his pokemon were out collecting tokens as well, so it’d be no pain to help out.
Sebastian chuckled, eyebrow quirking once more. "Oh yeah? You going to point me out in a line up?" He jeered a bit. "The only thing I have to my name is my shovel and my pokemon though… so you have fun with that." He blinked and frowned a little though as Jay admonished him a bit for just sort of randomly entering the lottos. "Oh…?" His brow furrowed a little as a hand rubbed behind his ear. He didn’t think there was anything bad about entering the lottos; he’d recognized some of the winning s and such after all but… wait, what? If it had been possible, Jay would’ve seen Sebastian’s expression contort to pure confusion. Instead, he’d just have to tell from his tone of voice.
"Wait… what? Legendary pokemon…?" He stared a moment. The only legendaries he knew about were… the three elemental birds in Kanto… and maybe Mew, though he was pretty sure that last one didn’t actually exist. So how in the world did anyone have an item to summon them? And Jay made it sound like… what, there were more? No, no Sebastian couldn’t really believe it and he scoffed at the notion. "You’re pulling my leg. There’s no way they’d raffle off something like that. I mean what… there just the three birds right? From Kanto… I find it hard to believe you could just use an item to make them appear." No seriously, he really wasn’t buying it.
Sebastian nodded his head absently in response to Jay’s question. "They’ve got like…. Everything. Megastones, pokeballs, potions, TMs… the works." There was this weirdly colored mushroom on display too, though he wasn’t sure what that was about. As Jay confirmed the name he nodded, seeking out the prize. He found it too, it was one of the more… expensive prizes. "…. 450 tokens…?" That. That was a lot. He grimaced a little, gaze shifting back to Jay. "Uhm… Jay are you sure you don’t just want to keep those tokens?" That was a helluva steep price…

Arriving in the main area Simon looked at the booth to collect his TMs however because of the long line he wandered over to the games first. Watching as a few trainers in front of him toss the bags they got decent scores. When it was his turn Simon got ready before tossing one at a time and managing to get all three inside. Those around him cheered and he blushed a little thanking everyone as he gathered up his seven tokens. Heading over to the Froakie toss he smacked it on a certain spot sending the doll soaring ten feet. Since that was the maximum he won the highest amount of ten. Thanking the attendant he moved over to the line letting them know he had won third place and asked if he could have TMs thirty, thirty eight and eighty four. "Also is it too soon to turn in items for the next TM drawing?"

Jay scoffed a little. "Dunno how good uh Champ ah'd make, but certainly don' think it really suits me," he remarked. "'N sure ah do. Why wouldn't ah?" he added with a bit of a grin. Honestly, he didn't think there was a lot to being Champion, other than winning, and being ready for future challengers, but all the same, he was pretty sure Sebastian would make a good one. Other than the whole... grave digger thing, he wasn't likely to scare away people, or, worse, make them feel bad if they lost (or won).
Jay smirked a bit at Sebastian's joke, looking a bit smug at the cleverness. "Oh, very funny," he replied smartly, "Maybe ah'll just identify you by yer smell." Of course he wasn't being serious. He didn't want Sebastian's pokemon.... or his shovel. He was tempted to make some comment on their earlier discussion of 'advice', though, but the little allusion was probably enough. Maybe. That conversation was a while ago, after all. He frowned a little when he didn't get much of a response to his 'criticism', uncertain if that meant it rubbed Sebastian the wrong way, or just made him consider. Or both. He wasn't going to apologize unless Sebastian told him out right, though. And even then... he stood by what he said. Maybe he could have phrased it better, but he wasn't one for pretty words and beating around the bush.
A frown crossed his face when Sebastian expressed his confusion over legendaries, though. He reached a hand out, feeling blindly until he found Sebastian' sshoulder. He felt his way up, felt his face, then moved his hand around to the back of his head-- and promptly gave him a slight, upward smack. "Are yew stupid? First've all, there ain't 'just the three birds'. There are... tens more, maybe hundreds, ah dunno. Each region's got their own legendaries, and some traverse all over the damn place. 'N ah dunno how them items work but they're real. Second've all, think 'bout what all you exchanged just to get tickets. 'N think 'bout how many people're prolly exchangin' just as many, if'n not more, ta get into that lotto? The amount've ahtems they get, 'specially compared to the much smaller amount they give away, prolly out weighs the cost." Even if that cost was undoubtedly hefty. How did they even get the summon items to begin with? And did they even have all of them? Admittedly, that seemed unlikely, but maybe it was more that they had a way to obtain them, and would.... contact you or something after they were able to get the one you wanted. Either way, the prize probably drew in a lot of attention just on its own.
"Hmm...." Jay hummed thoughtfully as Sebastian listed off a few of the things that they had. Megastones, huh...? He was pretty sure he didn't need any more of those, but that was certainly good to know. They were probably expensive, anyway, and he needed to save his tokens. For... yep, the 450 it took for the herbal remedy. He sighed a little as Sebastian unknowingly confirmed the price for him, but gave a hard frown at his question. "Ahm sure," he replied almost indignantly, "Yew keep 'em, least fer now. If ah need help, ah'll let yew know. Fer now, though, they're yers, 'n even if ah do end up needin' ta borrow, ah'll pay you back. Don' worry 'botu it, Sebastian, alright?" He didn't mean to be overly serious on this, but he really didn't want Sebastian trying to take stuff back. He meant what he said, and he said what he meant; he wanted to pay Sebastian back for his earlier generosity, every last cent token.

Sebastian just smirked at Jay’s proclamation that he wouldn’t make a good Champion. He didn’t think so; Jay seemed like he’d be a topnotch Champion, but he figured for now he’d let it rest. It would be easier to maybe convince him the opposite once they were actually close to league status. He also gave a little laugh at the ‘smell’ comment, a grin crossing his face a bit at the reference back to their previous conversation. "Oh yeah? What happened to not wanting to seem creepy?" He quirked an eyebrow and shook his head, chuckling again at the thought.
Snapped out of his confused thoughts about legendaries and why anyone would sell items associated with summoning them, Sebastian paused when he felt Jay reach out and grab his shoulder, blinking and looking at the cowboy curiously in the process. He stared a moment as Jay seemed to have to feel his way along to find the back of his head; it was kind of weird but it also didn’t quite phase Sebastian that much. To be fair, he was used to some degree people just kind of invading his space when it came to dealing with mourners, though this course of action was certainly not something he’d expected from Jay.
"Hey!" He jerked back, more from surprise rather than pain from the smack a hand instinctively going up to rub at the back of his head. Okay well he hadn’t expected that either. Sebastian frowned, eyeing Jay a moment as he questioned him on his lack of knowledge concerning legendaries, brow furrowing even more as the other man explained that apparently there existed far more than he actually knew about. Eventually he lowered his hand from his head, still staring a bit at Jay. Well… alright then.
"I…. I didn’t know." Sebastian finally responded, tone subdued as he shifted a little and shrugged. He really wasn’t aware that there were more legendaries out there; he hadn’t exactly had the ability to learn about other regions, their lore and such until recently. He frowned a little, placing his hands on his hips. "I still… I still don’t believe it though. I can’t imagine the amount of items they’re getting out-weigh the worth of an item that can summon a supposed legendary." It was just… it was just too convenient. This was fair after all. What kind of place had access to something like that to give away? "But you can exchange anything though, so I don’t really think it’s out weighing the cost." It was pretty clear that he was having a pretty darn hard time believing any of this. Lack of knowledge probably didn’t help, common sense didn’t help either. Sebastian just wasn’t sure.
Straightening up from looking through the prize selections, he frowned but finally gave a conceding nod. "Alright… if you’re sure." Sebastian remarked. He certainly didn’t want to keep bothering on the fact if Jay was true to his word; he was just use to helping other was all, not exactly being helped. And well, Jay had helped him a lot so far. He just wanted to make sure he wasn’t taking advantage of that help. It was a good check to keep. "Hm… so did you want to go check out the rest of the fair? They’ve got some different areas apparently… might be something worthwhile." Staring at the prize booth wasn’t going to change anything after all…

Apollo reached a hand out to pat Leon's shoulder reassuringly when the other confirmed that his girlfriend had, in fact, not responded to his text yet. He gave an easy smile when his teasing prompted a snort from Leon, who defended his claim that he'd made his girlfriend up. "I just had to be certain," he mused somberly. "Though I can't say whether I'm relieved or not that you're not actually lying to me." He nodded in agreement when Leon chalked up his girlfriend's lack of response to just being busy, that was the most logical reasoning. "Well, for her sake I hope she responds soon. Because I certainly wouldn't mind spending the entire day with you, my dear knight." Noticing movement from out of the corner of his eye Apollo turned around to see that the line had shortened and quickly stepped forward to close the gap that had formed. A few minutes later and Apollo was next in line, the person in front of him buying their turkey leg before they moved out of the way. "One please," he asked and then stepped away so that Leon could order. "And whatever this guy wants."
Apollo looked around for a moment, once again spotting Sylvia with ease-- as well as the irritation etched onto her face. He'd noticed how often she had begun to return to him, with a look of expectancy in her eyes no less, which led him to believe that she was hungry. It made sense, considering the last time any of them had eaten. "Here Leon, pay him with this." From out of his pocket the musician handed the blunette a fifty dollar bill, figuring that would be enough for the both of them. "Can you find us somewhere to sit? I need to buy a few more things." Leaving that to his friend Apollo slipped back into the crowd to begin looking for vendors that sold food more appropriate for his starter, as well as the rest of his pokemon. They all needed to eat, after all. While he searched he looked down at his communicator, realizing that he'd gotten a text from Cy. Being wary of those in front of him he began to reply.
Text to Cy: Aww, Cy. You're going to make me blush.
Nah, unfortunately not. I had to take a break from gym battles to make a pit stop in Goldenrod. It can, but it's rewarding. Taking a break, huh? So am I. Or, well.. extending my break. What are you doing?
