User ImageIt was probably time to be moving on. Certainly it looked like everyone else wanted to. Talya looked around for another game to try. "Anyone else want to try the darts?" she asked the group in general. There was a general murmuring on the lines that that would be fun, so the crowd of them moseyed on over to the darts game. Talya got their first, in spite of turning to look back to make sure everyone was there. Yup, looked like they were all present and accounted for! Now Talya felt safe playing darts. She got three darts to throw at the board. Her first dart earned her a sugar skull; her second dart won her a stuffed bat.

User ImageUser Image

User ImageDarryl followed along after Talya. Hey, it wasn't as if they could go trick-or-treating yet--Evelyn and Lillian weren't here, so they couldn't go. They would have to wait until the girls showed up. Only then could they move on. In the meantime, Darryl picked up some darts of his own. His first dart won him a stuffed rabbit with only one eye. Okay? Whatever. His second dart won him a delicious-looking lollipop that reminded him just slightly of his pet crocobee, Lollipop.

User ImageUser Image

User ImageNkiruka, her stuffed spider under her arm, took her own turn at the darts after that. It seemed that even more luck was with her--she won another spider plushie! This one was black and red and white and had spikes. Already an idea was forming in her head about just who these spiders were... She also won some candy corn, which, without further ado, she began to munch upon.

User ImageUser Image

User ImageXenophon was a little more cautious with his darts than everyone else--he threw one, very carefully, and won as a reward some dark red cotton candy. It was an interesting new color this year. He didn't remember seeing it last year. He wanted to try it out right now, but he knew that he had to conserve some candy for later.

User Image

User ImageMesektet was about to take a turn at the darts when they felt something in their pocket buzzing. It was their cell phone, and according to the face on the front, it was Guereda. Mesi picked it up, barely noticing that someone had thrown a tooth at them. They put it in their pocket and listened to the other end of the line.

"Hey, Mesi," Reda said. "Evey's done with her homework. We'll be heading over there in a bit. Lilli still has some more homework to take care of. She doesn't know when she can join us."

That would be disappointing, but at least they had an ETA for Reda and Evey. "Thanks, dear," Mesi said. "We'll see you in a bit."

User ImageSound Lee wasn't so sure about the slime, so he pushed it out of mind as they climbed the porch steps to the next house. This house had a lot of steps, and each one was decorated with electric candles in candleholders made of tin cans. Holes had been punched in them to give off extra light. At the door, they knocked, and an adult dressed as a skeleton came out. "Trick or treat!"

Sound Lee got a stuffed vespercat, a lovely green one. He also got a jar of what he swore was the same green ooze that Vederat got at the last house.

User ImageUser Image

User ImageVederat giggled when he saw that his friend had also gotten the slime. "I guess it's just the evening for it," he said. He himself had bagged a bag of caramel eyeballs with a pretty yellow ribbon on it. His tail swung back and forth as they walked down the steps to the sidewalk.

User Image

User ImageAurabelle had also gotten a bag of candy from that house, a bag of candy corn. This was, by their estimate, the first decent treat they'd gotten all evening--not counting stuffed animals, of course, which were arguably even better than candy. Candy fades away (ie, gets eaten), but plushies are forever (or at least until their fur gets pilled).

User Image

User ImageCallessa looked at the skull her girlfriend held up and shrugged. "I'm not really the macabre type," she said. "But I think I can figure out something to do with a crow skull." Cal didn't dislike crows, really. She had disliked then when she was a kid, though, back when her mother called her "my little scarecrow." She had thought then that she had an obligation to chase crows. Now that she was older, she appreciated crows for their intelligence and would rather not hurt one.

Cal had one more go on the wheel spinner left, with which she won a bag full of candy skulls. She smiled. "Hey, thanks," she said to the vendor. "That was fun. Happy Haunted Hallows!" She wrapped an arm around Eidil's waist and a wing around the Demoness's shoulder and led her onwards. "Where next?"

User Image

User ImageEidil looked around. "I'm not sure where next," she confessed. "Not the haunted house, though. I'm not really in the mood for a haunted house." Someone brushed past her, dropping two objects into her cauldron, a bag full of skull candy similar to the one Cal had just won and a stuffed bat. She turned to thank the mysterious stranger, but they had already disappeared into the night.

User ImageQuilo led the way to the beanbag toss, which was already lined with children waiting for their turn to go. Okay, so it was a bit of a wait, but at the end of it, they each got several bags to throw. Quilo managed to get one of his bags into a hole that earned him a caramel apple, which was pretty good so far as he was concerned. It was so good that he started munching on it early. He shouldn't have, but hey, the rule about "no candy until you get back to the dorms" was a freshling rule, right? No one was holding him to it...

User Image

User ImageYaviss's prediction turned true--his claws did indeed get caught in the beanbags. Eventually, he was able to throw them, but having to hold them carefully so that he didn't hook himself on them made his throws sloppy. His only prize was a jar of slime. It was green? Other than that, ew.

Something soft pressed against his legs and mewed for attention. He looked down to see the fluffiest vespercat he had ever seen in his entire life rubbing up against his leg. He knelt down and petted the strange cat on the head. It nuzzled his hand affectionately, and he began to gently scratch the cat's head. Okay, so the beanbag toss wasn't totally wasted, then...

User ImageUser Image

User ImageZuna shook their head. There was an army of freshlings ahead of them. No doubt their stupid caretaker thought this would be easy for them. But eventually, it was the teenagers' turn to try their luck, and...well, Quilo got a candy apple, but all Zuna got was some cheap gum that was probably going to be disgusting. "This is stupid," Zuna said. "Let's go to a haunted house instead."

User Image

User ImageUstule shook her head. "I do not doubt thet he weel except edvice from you. He misses you," she added softly. "We all deed, but..." She hesitated. She wasn't sure how to put it. "None of us were...angry et you, Prometheus." They'd all had different reactions to Prometheus's disappearance. Ustule, being a proper Litch, had assumed that Prometheus had a good reason for, well, for leaving them in the lurch, and that he didn't have to explain himself if he didn't want to.

In short, by Eurosian standards, Ustule had given up on Prometheus. Histeol, on the other hand, had also believed that there was a good explanation for their normally warm friend to turn cold. The difference between Histeol and Ustule was that Teo expected Prometheus to come back to them with an explanation after all was said and done. Ustule risked a glance at Teo. It would seem that Teo had accepted Promme's explanation and forgiven him for the long absence.

Peri, on the other hand? Well, anyone who knew Peri--heck, anyone who'd spent half an hour with Peri--knew how he had reacted to Prometheus's disappearance. "I wouldn't worry about Peri's re-ection," she said simply. "He will be heppy to be friends with you." Again, she mentally added. "I would say he was more...confused then angry."

Ustule made a face. She didn't like the idea of rural communities turning suburban. There was a good portion of Litch society that would not survive well in the lights of the big cities of Boreas. These parts of their history and culture could be lost forever if most of the farmers moved to the towns. There were...farming traditions she wanted to be kept safe. At least a little while longer, the planning part of her brain added. "I hope your femily cen stay in their encestral lends," she said. "We need people like your parents."

The mysterious thing-thrower was back in action. Ustule sighed as a rock was thrown in her general direction. Had they been able to--? No, that was impossible. She picked up the stone and felt, as she put it in her bucket, a pang of sorrow for her fleeing people, and a burst of fear for the future. What was going to happen to them? The feeling passed as she put the stone in the bucket. Something bumped into her leg. Another revenant? Aha, it was her lucky day!

User ImageUser Image

User Image"Peri should be along later. Assuming his nap goes well." Teo was fretting a bit over it, but with Prometheus back in action--and a new friend in the bargain!--Histeol was feeling much more optimistic about the future. The four--five--of them could conquer anything, he just knew it. "Ustule's right," Teo said. "We're glad to have you back, Promme. Don't worry about it anymore." He smiled. "We've got your backs again."

Teo didn't like the way Ustule was talking, but he didn't dare say it. His experience with Prometheus and Ustule had taught him that some native Litches did not want to conform to anything that Teo was familiar with. He didn't really see the point of being stubborn about culture, but maybe he would learn why the Boreans were so stubborn from his friendship with three native born Litches someday. There was hope for him yet.

His cell phone buzzed in his pocket, and a cheery voice chirped "Perigor!" over and over again. Teo picked up the phone. "Perigor! Are you on your way? We're near the entrance, just look for us. It's me, Ustule, Prometheus, and Prometheus's brother. Prometheus's brother is in a wheelchair, if that helps," he added softly. He caught a box of raisins as someone threw it at him and put it in his pocket.

User ImageOriset gave Nai one last glare before stepping through the wide wardrobe and into the room beyond. The room beyond was pitch black--there was nothing in there, so far as she could tell. It was as though something had been dropped in the room to fill it from ceiling to floor with darkness. She shuddered. The light from her lantern could barely penetrate the darkness; it illuminated nothing more than the hand that held it. Nonetheless, she cautiously stepped out further into the room to give her friends space. She turned back to tell them to come in only to discover that she couldn't see them at all. "Okay," she called back in what she thought was the direction of the door. "You can come in now."

She heard the sound of the door shutting and her friends calling out in alarm. Oriset squeaked. She heard the sound of someone else moving in the same room, someone she could not see. Thump. Thump. Thump. Labored breathing filled her ears. Something ran across her feet. Then the sound disappeared. Whoever it was, was...gone.

The secret door in the back of the wardrobe opened again and her friends came tumbling into the room. It wasn't until the two skull candles entered the room that the darkness was pushed back to reveal...ugh. A torture chamber of some sort. And sitting in the middle of an old electric chair-like device, was a pile of treats and tricks. Guarding it was a little two-winged bat. The cat at Ori's feet perked up. Swiftly, Ori snatched up the rat and put it safely into her bucket. "Don't eat my stuff," she said softly to it before approaching the offering pile. There was a card on top: See what I mean?

Had the person with the footsteps left them? Ugh. Ori didn't want to know. She just picked up a bottle of--blood? Probably fake blood--and turned to the rest. "We need to find a way out of here."

User ImageUser Image

User ImageWyrdda had panicked when she saw the door shut in her face. She had banged loudly on it until it opened up again under her desperately scrabbling claws. There had been a soft chuckling sound in the skull room as she pulled and yanked at it, and over their own startled shouting, they had heard the sound of someone locked in the dark room with Oriset.

This was certainly turning out to be a spooky night. Wyrdda took one of the candy apples left out for them and signed to Ori, Are you okay?!

The Goblin nodded. "Yeah, no, I'm fine. Just...startled, is all."

We heard someone in the room with you.

"Ugh. Don't remind me. Yeah, no, I have no idea what that was about, either."

User Image

User ImageJie was getting seriously freaked out over here. She wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. Without argument, she picked the remaining bottle of blood and looked around the room. "You look high, I'll look low," she said. She soon regretted it. The floor was covered with bloodstains and bits of hair and teeth. Still she kept looking.

User Image

User ImageKunibert shivered. "Zat laughing vos more scary zan any of zat," he said. He himself took one of the candy apples and looked around the room. There were no obvious doors anywhere--not in the walls, at least. There were no windows, and when he tried the door they had just come out of, it failed to open. Okay, then that wasn't a viable option, then. Hmmmm... If he had to hide a door, where would he hide it? Jie had the right idea, a trapdoor. But if he had been the one designing it...

He pointed to the ceiling, where a dark patch of wood had a rusted ring handle poking out of it. "Zere!" he shouted. "A trap door!"

User Image

User ImageNaihilus had just taken the remaining candy apple when Kunibert shouted. He'd shouted directly into the Litch's ears--Nai winced. "I thought Oriset was supposed to be looking high," he said mildly.

User ImageAnchriesel was still searching the grounds for his roommate, but by this point, he had just sort of come to accept that he would not be seeing the cute Litch at the party this year. He moseyed over to a pea-and-cup booth. Wary of tricks--this was Haunted Hallows, after all--Chries tried his luck. To his surprise, and delight, he managed to win some cotton candy. Well, this wasn't wasted after all!

User Image

User ImageZalir was running a little late to the fair, but not all that late, zey thought. True, they hadn't gotten there as early as zeir roommate, Anchriesel, had, but the night was still young. There was still time to get treats and tricks alike. Zey wondered if there would be aetherjellies at the fair this year. It didn't seem too likely, but hey, you never know!

This year, they were giving out cauldrons as well as pumpkins. Zalir smiled. Hey, if an opportunity presented itself to take an object emblematic of one of Zalir's favorite things, then zey would take it! Zey picked out an orange cauldron and a lantern (for good luck) and headed out into the fair. To the first person zey saw, zey held out zeir bucket. "Happy Haunted Hallows--er, I mean, trick-or-treat!" It had been a while since Zalir had done this! Zey got a handful of hard candies--that was good, right?--and, to zeir delight, a stuffed animal. "O-oh! Th-thank you so, so much!" zey stammered.

The stranger smiled. "No problem," they said. "Happy Haunted Hallows to you, too."

User ImageUser ImageUser ImageUser Image

User ImageFenaret frowned at the turnip. "Maybe they're meant to be emblematic of the changing seasons. Maybe they're supposed to make us think." He led the way to the next house, where the owner was actually sitting outside giving treats. He was holding out his bucket when the owner shook their head with a smile. "Nope," they said. "You've gotta play to get paid."

Fena blinked. So... "We need to perform?"

The homeowner nodded. "Yup!"

That seemed a little unfair, but okay. Fena and Frankie went into an emergency huddle--their candy was at stake here! They waved Batholith off behind the hedge and turned to each other. "Where's the experiment?" Fena asked, sounding panicked.

"I don't know," Frankie said, shrugging. "I thought it was with you."

"I thought it was with you!" The great playwrights of Below would be green with envy at their scintillating dialogue.

"Rrrrr!" Bath said from "offscreen," before staggering into view.

"Oh no, it's escaped!" the boys said in almost--though not quite--unison. They screamed and ran to hide behind the homeowner.

The homeowner laughed. "Alright, I think you've earned it! Here you go." They handed Fena and Frankie treats and slipped something to Bath on the sly.

User Image

User ImageFrancesca was glad to get some candy. Hey, they'd worked hard for this candy! But it was also really nice to get out here and act a little. After all, what was the point of themed costumes if you didn't do any acting with them? "Thank you!" he said to the homeowner. "Happy Haunted Hallows!" He tucked his lollipop inside.

User Image

User ImageBatholith was less than charmed with this person. They'd slipped him a glass eye. Back in his old life, that had meant something...

He looked up at the homeowner. They were a Fey, not long out of the Academy, if he was any judge. Okay, so it was probably a coincidence. He tucked the eye into his pocket and pointed to the two kittens.

Blast. Three kittens. "Do you know who owns these cats?"

The Fey shook their head. "Nope," they said. "No one I know of. Maybe they're strays?"

That would have to do for an answer. Bath took Frankie and Fena's hands as they walked onwards, murmuring, "Don't worry your family about it, Frankie. I can take on three more cats." I think.

User ImageIt was still up to Deni to pick the next game they would play--or the next activity. As Sara waited for her brother to make his decision, she held out her bucket to yet another passerby, who gave her a ghost. Excellent! She estimated she had half of the set by now.

User Image

User ImageDenidar made a snap decision. "Let's go to a haunted house," he said, holding out his bucket to the passerby. "Trick or treat!" He was rewarded with a bright green candy apple. "It'll give us somethin' to do. What do all y'all think?"

User Image

User ImageRaniol nodded his head. "Ah lahk that idea," he said. "It'll kill tahm. Maybe they give better treats there," he added playfully. Honestly, they were getting pretty good ones just standing here. "Trick or treat!" His apple had caramel on it. Sweet! Literally!

User Image

User ImageCiel was starting to get a little impatient, but she didn't have much choice but to sit here waiting for the "guests" to arrive. In the meantime, someone passed her a chocolate bat to nibble on. It sounded like they'd passed through the skull closet. She still had a while before they got through to her room, though.

User Image

User ImageEvelyn was eager to get to the park already. Lilli still had some homework to complete, an essay for Lyra, apparently, but the Nixie had given her permission to go on without her. "I'll be there later," she said softly. "Just make sure your parents keep their phone on so I can contact you."

Evey had begun running almost as soon as she was off-campus. She'd had to stop a few times, but before long she was panting at the entrance to the park, her knight costume already on. She collected a blue cauldron--hey, blue, that was a nice color!--and looked around for her friends. She failed to notice the doll stuffed into her cauldron. Spying Talya through the crowd, she shouted, "Hey! I'm here!"

User ImageUser Image

User ImagePerigor was late. Really late. Or at least, late by his own standards. He was racing down to the park, his heart hammering in his chest. He was still tired--his attempts at a nap had failed. Honestly, his brain was starting to feel ragged from the lack of sleep over the last few days, but Ustule and Teo worried too much. To hear them say it, it was some sign of the apocalypse, or some sign that he was going crazy or something. Total User Image if you asked Peri. Of course he wasn't sleeping--he was excited! He was going to see Prometheus today, and all of his other friends, and they were going to load up on candy! How could you not be excited for that?!

Perigor picked up a green pumpkin and a lantern at the fair and started looking around. Teo had said on the phone that they were the group that consisted of three Litches, one in a wheelchair--ah! There they were! He raced over to them, panting hard. "Prometheus!" he said. He wanted to hug his friend so hard, but somehow, he didn't think the reserved Litch would appreciate that. Instead, he settled for wiggling his arms. "It's so good to see you! Oh, hey," he said brightly to the Litch in the wheelchair. Ustule had mentioned something about Promme's brother coming with them, and this was very clearly a relative of Prometheus. "Hey, it's neat to meet you, I'm Perigor. Dunno...if your brother mentioned me, or, uh, whatever." He glanced around, just barely catching sight of a bag of candy as it was lobbed at his head. He caught it and dropped it in his bucket. "So, wha'd I miss?" He glanced at Ustule and Teo, both of whom were carrying familiars. "Okay, other than those three sweetums."

As the trio made their greetings, Hawthorn nodded smartly. "Before we get going... I wondered if you both might sign a note on my ghost memento? Something to commemorate our first holiday together..." He wanted to remember the night, and he didn't want the idea to be forgotten once the festivities geared up.

User Image He held up the other one he'd bought, this one for Cain to sign, the prior to represent Thanatos.

Then, to Cain's question he gentle tapped his cane on the cobbles as he pondered his answer. "I'm not really sure where to start... What would you suggest? Thanatos, what are you in the mood for? I admit, I'm no great sportsman..."

User ImageChattering excitedly to her new little friend, Gilly walked further along into the crowds, peering around for anyone that looked like they would have anything good left. "I'll have to think of a name for you, if you want to stay with me; you DO wanna stay, right? I mean, you look SO pretty and I'll take great care of you. I'll even share my candy with you if you help find me some. Good ones I mean, not, you know....this." She pulled out her tattered pack of gum and sniffed it, as though checking to see if it smelled every bit as bad as it had before. Which it did. "Yech...." The vespercat took one dainty sniff and flattened it's ears, as though in agreement.
Suddenly it perked up it's ears and started to weave into the crowd at a rate so fast it made Gilly gasp. "Hey, wait! Hey! Come back!" She chased after it, happy at least that the bright orange fur made it easy to follow. When it finally did stop, she nearly tripped over it and bumped into a tall dryad in a brightly colored scarecrow costume. "Well hello there!" He said in a voice that boomed like a giant's. He reached his hand into a pocket that appeared to be stuffed with hay and it emerged with a brightly colored bag of colorful candy. "Here you are! Happy Haunted Hallow!"
Gilly could barely contain herself, letting out a tiny shriek of glee as she inspected the package. "Heehee; ewww! Eyeballs! Thank you mister!"

User ImageUser ImageUser ImageUser Image

User Image
Zoe was absently twirling the stubby little tail of her stuffed toy when she heard Gilly shout up ahead. She looked up just in time to see her friend almost vanish into the crowd. "Gilly? Gilly!" Clutching her plush, lantern and pail close, she gave chase, trying to keep her friend in sight as she struggled with an armful of items.
She heard the booming voice and caught up just in time to see a HUGE dryad scarecrow hand Gilly something. She skidded to a stop, and watched as the straw head turned and beamed at her. "Oh goodness; it CAN'T be my time already! If you let me live just one more night, I can help you with that ear problem you have."
Zoe blinked in confusion and before she could ask about the problem, the dryad reached down and motioned as though he were pulling something out of her ear. "There we go! Seems some ghoul tried to hide candy in your ear! There we are; hope I've earned my free night!" Zoe gasped with delight as she shifted her items around to grasp the cheerfully wrapped lolly; it looked so tasty! "Thank you!" she said with a smile, and joined Gilly in waving goodbye to the friendly scarecrow. "I think that vespercat of yours can sniff out good candy, Gilly."

Ruari was still steamed about the candy poo, but at least the purring in his ear as his new friend rode around on his shoulder helped cheer him somewhat. He did notice a lot of people staring, and whether it was at him or the vespercat he didn't really care; he loved being the center of attention, and in a place as busy as this, that merited something.
He paused in front of a colorful stand with display after dazzling display of shiny candy apples in all manner of colors that made Ruari's mouth water. The stand owner came up with a freshly dipped batch and offered one to him with a wink. "This is for that show you lot put on a while back; I thought for sure that poor girl was gonna end up full of holes." Eagerly taking the apple, Ruari graced the other with one of his best smiles. "Why it wouldn't be much of a show if we didn't make you think that at least once, am I right?" Chuckling, the owner nodded in agreement and turned to help the next in line. Munching the candy apple cheerfully, Ruari continued to make his way deeper into the grounds.

Nashira:

"It does seem like something she would have said. I need to locate her again to see how she is doing sometime soon." Nashira said, slowly starting to walk, but made sure Sam was with her.

She listened to Sam talk, and he... talked about himself as if he was not Sam. And then... He got cut off with another flitterat. "They seem to like you. I am almost jealous of your animal magnetism?" Was that the right term? Good enough. "So, you're saying you're not Sam?" She asked as they stopped at a booth where there were games. The man hand Nashira some gummy candy before he offered her three balls and told her to knock down some milk bottles. Nashira missed with her first ball, only knocked one battle with the second, but hit all three on her third ball.

"Ah! And the pretty lady wins a prize!" The vendor handed her a plush.

"This is so cute..." Nashira murmured, hugging the plush with one arm.

Kingston:

"Hey, I'm always glad to help." Kingston said, laughing and wiping a few tears from his eyes. This night was just so much fun! When Vanna mentioned 'getting him back' Kingston just grinned. "Yeaaaaaaaah. I think we need to work on your first date etiquette." He wagged a finger at Vanna. "Didn't even pull my chair out for me." Kingston teased.

Mai's laughter was pretty infectious, and he laughed for quite a while. We do seem to be getting a lot of..." He paused, trailing off as he found a.. was that a... glass eye? He picked it up. "I uh... I got my eye on you?" He wiggled the creepy eye at Mai. There was a stuffed skeleton in his basket now too. Wow, whoever was doing this was quick!

When there was a little yelp, Kingston looked at the fennekit that appeared. Another? They must be running around all over tonight. But then the one on his shoulder started sniffing at the air and whining. When Ren picked up the light brown little fennekit, it seemed to calm down his new companion. "Aw, I think they're friends." He smiled, watching as the fluffball in Ren's arm licked him. "Guess we'll have to set up play dates so the two of them can play."

Vega:

Vega had to make a pit stop. He wasn't going to take his basket into the bathroom, so he hid it in the bushes near by while taking care of business. When he returned, there was a strange jar of goo and a plush... thing. What was this even?

Meadow:

While he waited for Aurelia, Meadow got himself some more candy. Was he gonna share? Noooooooooo of course not!

Charon:

Ok, maybe he was having too much sugar. Or not enough? Whatever the case, Charon didn't feel exactly right, so he decided to get a caramel apple. That should do the trick and set him right.

Keahi:

Keahi yawned. They had a bar of chocolate that said it would make you scream. Hm... Dare they try it? Maybe not just yet. Instead, Keahi found a plush, it was missing one eye, and used it as a pillow as they laid down on the bench for a moment.

Aurelia smiled at her best friend, but narrowed her eyes and tilted her head curiously when he seemed....disappointed by her plushie. She thought it was cool that they both had similar-yet-different plushies; it just meant they were obviously besties! She watched as Meadow went off to a booth that was selling caramel apples, the treat making her mouth water as she watched her friend take a big satisfying bite out of it. "Oooooh, that looks so good! I'll get one, too, so I can try it!" She skipped over to the booth and paid the proper price as she flashed a big smile at the vendor. "One of those yummy apple things, please and thank you!" The vendor giggled at the nixie and handed her the treat. Aurelia turned it to find the best spot for her first bite and took as big a chunk as she could muster from it. It was a little hard to get into at first (she didn't have sharp teeth like Meadow) but once she got that first bite in her mouth.....oooooh boy! The apple was a tart sweet that made her pucker a bit but the sweet, creamy caramel around it made it absolutely delicious. "Mmmmmmmm! Ih s'hooooo goooooooh!" She managed to coo out, her cheeks rounded as she tried to savor her chewy delight. "Well, aren't you just a cute little pile of bones!" Aurelia turned to look behind her at a litch man that was dressed rather dapper in what looked like a circus ringleader outfit but somehow more creepy, his face painted. "And I think a cutie like you needs a matching companion!" The man then handed her an adorable vespercat plushie that looked like she did in her costume! He took off his hat and bowed dramatically, winking at the nixie girl before he moved on. Aurelia giggled as a blush tinged her cheeks pink just a bit. "Wow...."

Iolante was letting her guard down more and more as the festival went on. She smiled brightly and was skipping along, even joining in a small group of other freshlings dressed like witches as they danced in a circle while chanting "Bubble bubble, toil and trouble! Fire burn and cauldron bubble!" in a sing-song voice similar to Ring Around the Rosie. When their song ended they all pretended to fly away on their brooms. Io fluttered her wings just to add a little reality to the feeling of flying away on a broom like a real witch. She landed with a small stumble near a small stand giving out cotton candy, her eyes widening as she looked at the fluffy sugar with awe and desire. "You are so cute! Are you a good witch or a bad witch?" The person manning the stand asked, Io blushing slightly and looking down sheepishly before answering. "Ummm.....a..g-good witch?" The vendor smiled brightly. "Well a sweet witch deserves a sweet treat." They handed her a nice, big, fluffy cloud of colorful deliciousness and she squealed happily. "Thank you!" She picked a small curly bit off the top and popped it in her mouth, cooing blissfully as it melted into nothing but pure flavor.

Kohaku wasn't sure how they could carry Seeker without their arms wearing down after a while. Raisin was small enough to fit in their bucket without much issue and could climb wherever it wished but Seeker....Seeker was blind. Kohaku didn't want to set the poor little thing down and just pray that it wouldn't get lost. It took a moment for them to think before they saw one of the chains that were hooked to their wizard belt decorated with fake arcane charms. A lightbulb went off in their brain and they smiled, unclipping one end and kneeling down to carefully hook it around the little fennekit's collar to secure it. "Seeker, I attached one of my chain belts to your collar and the other end is still attached to me. That way you can walk with me and won't get lost, ok?" They spoke to the fennekit in plain speech as though it were an equal creature to the baphomet. Seeker shook for a second before Kohaku leaned down to kiss its forehead and gently rub its ear. "I promise I won't let you out of my sight. Just stay close, follow the chain and the sound of my voice." Seeker yipped softly and its bushy tail wagged a bit showing that it understood. Kohaku smiled and walked carefully to a very inviting house, making sure that the fennekit could keep up and didn't try to pull away (which it didn't, thankfully.) "Trick or treat!" Kohaku said happily to the imp sitting on the porch with a big bowl of treats on their lap. They complimented on how cute the baphomet's new familiars were before dropping a good-sized back of caramel eyeballs into their bucket, careful not to drop them on Raisin.

User ImageRen was still staring into their apparently new familiar’s eyes when he realized that Kingston was talking to him. He quickly rewound what had been said. Ah yeah hadn’t he just thought they were friends? Kingston’s familiar’s actions where definitely lending strength to that theory.

“I thought the same thing actually. I wouldn’t mind scheduling play dates. Animal friends should definitely stick together. Ah that is if you don’t really mind” Ren replied his wings fluttering a tiny bit behind him.

User ImageConsidering she had moved over here, to get candy and to stop laughing Kingston really wasn’t helping all that much, although she was happy everyone was having a good time. Still she had to retaliate from the cheesiness and after grabbing a box of raisins pelted one at him, missing him on purpose. Sure it was a raisin but still…

Coming back over she put the bag of candy corn she had bought in her bag and handed over a bag of caramel eye candies to Ren since he had been asking about those earlier.

User Image“If I recall you where the one that dragged me off to lunch and said it was your treat… that meant you should have gotten my chair” Vanna replied rolling his eyes. “My first date etiquette is amazing” never mind the fact that he hadn’t bothered dating for about a decade now. Dating was over rated. His world was dangerous and he wasn’t going to drag some one that close so that they could either betray him or get hurt as a way to get to him.

Ah he was getting into depressing territory. Seeing as everyone was occupied at the moment he slipped away and blinked when he was suddenly handed another plushie. Accepting the fact he probably was wearing an invisible sign that read “Give me plushies” he took it and crushed it to his chest for a second.

User ImageHad Bebe said what house she was in? Salem couldn’t remember since he really hadn’t become that active until later on the next day. It was a given Bebe was an academy student so there was a good chance Nashira would run in to her again.

Salem smiled. Samhain normally wanted to keep the fact that he was two different people a secret but Salem was a bit bored and he wanted to see how Nashira would take it. After all it wasn’t like it drove away people. Ah well the people Salem cared to associate with. “That would be correct. I am not Samhain. However we’re probably attracting all the flitterats because Samhain likes to bake and he got a bit carried away today. He most likely smells like sugar.” He ignored how unhappy Samhain was in the back of his head. Ah well he shouldn’t have gotten distracted at the mutated flitterat.

He looked at the vendor next to them while Nashira was winning her plushie and picked up/bought a glowy necklace. At least it went with his colors?

User ImageSo far the night was not going terribly well. She had gotten pranked by some teenager as soon as she had walked into the festival grounds. Her son was sick at home, and she was suffering from a low grade headache. Plus she couldn’t find any of her friends in the crowd. Still leto had been really disappointed he hadn’t been able to make it this year and Nasai had agreed to come and she supposed get the trinkets and the candy from the festival instead.

It was about then that she walked near an Imp that was holding an adorable looking revenant. Nasai paused having a weakness for cute familiars.
“Oh that is an adorable revenant” Nasai said. Whoops was that out loud?

User Image Elspeth had been given a strange glowing rock at the last booth she had been by, and holding onto it she began to feel quite saddened. Deciding to take a break, Elspeth sat down on a nearby bench, when suddenly a small glowing-eyed vespercat jumped up beside her and began to nuzzle against her. Elspeth smiled down and the creature and felt her sadness begin to melt away.

User Image Yui continued on through the festival grounds, occasionally stopping by a booth here and there. The next booth she stopped at was brightly decorated in orange and green, and was a bit hard to look away from. The vendor snuck up behind her, causing her quite the scare, and laughed as he dropped a bag of candy into her bucket.

Carefully steering Eliza, Zahneel was careful to avoid any too-large clumps of people as well as as many freshlings as possible. She didn't want to be responsible for Eliza getting sick and everyone knew freshlings were little germ factories.

"I can't think of anything I'd like more."

Once the sense of what he'd just said worked its way through his way, he blushed hotly and stood scuffing his foot into the ground. And as he was busy feeling mortified with himself, a tiny, kissy face ghost was tossed at him from somewhere in the crowd.
