Wings fluttering in excitement, Kel was waiting with pleasant anticipation to get their treat. However, what actually happened was a hand darted out of the barely opened doorway and dropped a bird skull into their pail before darting back inside and the door slamming.
Staring in growing horror at the skull, Kel stood there a moment wondering what they'd done to offend the gods this badly.
As they stood there, a soft, pinkish light grew just over their shoulder, causing Kel to look up and see a wisp hovering.
"Oh!" they said, slowly smiling. "Hello! D'you want to come with me?"
The wisp indicated that it would, indeed, like that and Kel began to walk away, bird skull momentarily forgotten in the fun of finding a new friend.
Whatever Zella had been expecting when she took Clarity out to trick or treat, this wasn't it. She'd thought maybe they'd go to a couple of houses and there'd be a few decorations about. Instead, what they'd gotten was a full fledged carnival. And since Clarity didn't seem interested in getting over her shyness, Zella had picked the little baphomet up and was simply wandering around, letting the child become used to the noise and spectacle.
As they walked, the goblin stopped at a booth offering fresh cotton candy and gotten a cone of dark, dark pink spun sugar.
"Let's share this. The nice lady who made it said it's raspberry flavored. You like raspberry, right, Clarity?"
Tail wagging gently, Galatea felt glad that she'd turned down the concert in favor of going to the fair. This was a lot more fun than wearing out her voice and getting all overheated under the stagelights.
As she walked, she munched on some chocolate skulls that she'd won for tossing a beanbag through a pumpkin's mouth.
From her safe perch on Zella's shoulder, Clarity watched everything around her with wide eyes. It was all almost too much to handle. Thank goodness she had Zella to look out for her! And the wisps of cotton candy that the goblin had shared with her had been so good!
After a while, she indicated that she wanted to try trick or treating. Accordingly, Zella took her to a nice looking house and rang the doorbell for her. When an elderly pair of geists answered, Clarity smiled and held out her pail, whispering, "Trick or treat?"
The pair seemed charmed as they dropped something into her pail and thanked her for stopping by. Once they'd gone back inside, she peeked inside to see what they'd given her. With a tiny, sad sigh, she noted it was a box of raisins. Well. Maybe the next house would be better?
Gelato was momentarily traumatized. Instead of tasty treats or cute prizes, someone had put an eyeball into her treat pail. Okay, it wasn't a real eyeball, but still! Tears welling up in her eyes, she headed for a park bench where she could sit and wait for her brother. As she neared the bench, she saw something sitting on it and edged forward curiously.
A moment later, she was clutching and hugging the prettiest little bat plush ever.
Wings gently fanning, Karamella quietly and sweetly accepted the candy being given to her. So far this trick or treating business was fairly nice. And the candy eyes looked so nice in her bucket!

As she made her way further into the fair, Prague couldn't help but shake her head in mild disgust. Glancing into the pail she'd been given, she eyed the carved turnip she'd "won" dubiously. First chance I get, she thought, I am lighting that thing on fire. That'll teach it to be creepy.
Now, where was Hamish? After a moment's thought, she decided that she'd head towards the main area for food. Everyone ended up there eventually. As she walked, she became aware of a fennekit following her. Pausing briefly and turning to glare at it, she glanced around quickly for its owners only to see no one.
"I see. I suppose you're a stray. Well, I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight if I knew I'd left an innocent critter to fend for itself. Come along then."
As the rambunctious fallen ambled away from the latest house, she decided that the next adult she found, she was showing them the bottle she'd been given.
It... it wasn't normal to give little kids bottles of what looked like blood, was it?
The tiny hybrid sat for a moment, examining the rock that had been left in zer pail. It was very pretty, but it made zer feel said whenever ze touched it. Was that why someone had given it to zer? Because they didn't want to be sad anymore? It was a question that merited a lot of thought.
With a sigh, ze put the rock back in the pail and got to zer feet. Then blinked as a vespercat suddenly strolled up and plonked itself directly in front of zer.
"Your eyes glow like mine," ze whispered as ze reached out to gently stroke the cat. "Would you like to be my friend?"
The purrs assured zer that yes, the cat would like this very much.
Holding the candle-crowned skull incredulously, Miju wondered what she'd done to deserve winning such a horrible thing. Sure, sure, the booths all proclaimed that everyone walked away a winner, but surely there had to be limits? With a shudder, she put the awful thing into her pail, deciding that she'd get rid of it once she was safely home.
At least the bunny plush she'd found wasn't terrifying. A little sad, but she could deal with sad. Stroking the plush's head, she wondered if it had gotten so worn out from being thoroughly loved.
As far as Ezym was concerned, this night was a complete waste of time. Half the games didn't interest her and honestly, watching a lot of little kids get underfoot wasn't how she enjoyed spending her free time.
THough... okay, the free stuff was kind of cool. And the slimey stuff she'd won at the guessing game booth was interesting. But until she knew whether it was safe or not, it was staying in the pail.
Stepping forward, Tai took her turn at the prize wheel and almost as soon as the wheel slowed, wished she hadn't bothered. Holding the doll she'd been given, she repressed a shudder. Creepy doll was creepy. Well, maybe she could find someone to give it to later. Thanking the imp, she wandered off. Finding a new booth, she smiled at the funny little skeleton plushes. The demon manning the booth saw her and smiled back before noticing the doll in her arms and wincing.
"Ooof! Prize like that hardly seems like a prize, no? C'mere, kid. Go ahead and pick one as my way of sayin' sorry that you got saddled with a creepy, weird toy."
"Thank you sir. I'd like this one, please."

Smiling and running about, Lolo paused by one booth that featured a jar of pretty lollipops and turned to find her brother.
"Rolo, d'you se... where did you go?"
Turning back to the booth, she decided that she would try to win one. Grasping the beanbags she was given, she tossed them at the big pumpkins and squealed happily as one beanbag fell in. Taking the lollipop she was offered, Lolo was careful to say thank you before darting off again.
Oh, Rolo was going to be so jealous!
Smiling sedately, Proserpina made her way through the fair. So much excitement! No wonder all the little kids were running around like little chickens. Given the amount of sugar they were ingesting, she pitied the poor parents and guardians who would have to deal with them later.
Pausing by a booth offering a shell game, the nixie smiled and watched carefully. When it was her turn to guess, she pointed to the middle shell and arched an eyebrow. The laughter and cheering told her she'd guessed correctly. Accepting her cotton candy prize with a stately nod, she melted back into the crowd.
Laughing fit to burst at the sheer cuteness surrounding her, Uhane decided that this holiday was all right. The kids were having fun being kids and she got to watch it all. Fair deal.
Besides, any holiday that let you gorge on candy and win cute little things was aces in her book. Take the very nice bracelet she'd just won. It totally fit her aesthetic.
The naga carefully made her way through the crowd and admired the decorations and effort that had obviously been invested into the fair. Clearly the Headmistress was a lady of formidable talents if she could organize something like that.
As Mollie slithered around, she found herself eyeing the bucket she'd gotten and the weird rock therein. The sad touch was a weird gimmick and she wondered why someone would enchant rocks to throw off sadness. The bat plush, however, had been much better recieved. Mollie liked small, colorful cutes. She did not like sad rocks.
As she nibbled at the milk chocolate bat she'd won, Moana found herself rather enjoying this fair. At the booth where she'd won the chocolate bat, she'd also been given the cutest spider plush. It was just so... squishy and cuddly.
Frowning slightly as a strange hand made of what smelled like stale popcorn was dropped into her pail, Kiku sighed and wondered if, perhaps, she should have remained at the village. Then, she would not have to deal with such strange customs and experiences. But, at the same time, it was exhilarating to be out in the world. And other than treats of dubious origin, she was having so much fun.
"'Scuse me, miss," a voice interrupted her thoughts and she turned to see an elderly baphomet watching her. "Ah, thought so. You're one o'them Kumiho, yes? Have one of these with my compliments then. Hope you're enjoying your first Haunted Hallows."
He tossed a small, red and black bat plush at her and smiled before turning back to his work.
"Thank you sir, I will treasure it."
Waving off her thanks, the nightmare just smiled and went back to work.

From the comforting warmth of her mother's arms, Tansy simply cooed and gurgled as she was shown off to various people. She heard her mother's voice talking about treats and heard a darkly muttered, "Raisons".
While she didn't understand that, she did understand the soft and snuggly bat that was placed in her chubby arms.
As she stuck close with her group, Serenity felt her eyes going wide as kindly strangers opened their doors and gave each kid a treat. Smiling shyly up at one of the adults, the little imp was rewarded with a pretty, autumn-y colored lollipop.
Wandering aimlessly, Rhulain sighed and considered the little pail she'd been given. Well no. Really, she was considering the exceptionally odd (and rather gross) bottle she'd been given as a "prize". While she was fairly sure it wasn't actual blood, it looked like it. Whatever had the people who handed this out been thinking?!?
A soft mrowling sound behind her caught Rhulain's attention and she turned and stared at the cat who'd been yowling. Right away, she realized that it's tail was odd.
"Well, I guess we're not the only ones who can have... odd children this time of year. You look clean enough. I suppose I can allow you to stick around."

Hikari strolled around the festival grounds, completely in awe of all of the decorations and flashy games, and of course the delicious smell of something sweet in the air. Freshlings were running around all over the place, most seemed to be in costume, leaving Hikari wondering if she was also supposed to be in costume. Shrugging, Hikari decided to investigate the booth nearest to her, the vendor noticing her presence immediately, greeted her with a large grin. She looked at the vendor with a face full of confusion and the Nightmare held out a jar of sticks, the Kumiho felt like this meant she was supposed to take one, and so she did. The stick she had chosen had a little red end to it, which seemed to cause the vendor some amount of joy. He reached up to a shelf behind him and handed her a glowing trinket. Elspeth had decided to leave the comfort of her books in order to partake in the festivities happening, having heard many excited whispers about it through the week prior. Upon her arrival to the festival grounds, a friendly looking Nightmare handed her a lantern and gestured for Elspeth to head deeper into the festival grounds. Smiling her thanks at the Nightmare, Elspeth held the lantern out in order to get a better look around. Elspeth decided to check out a nearby vendor, who when approached, pressed some thing into the Goblin's hand before disappearing behind his booth. Confused, Elspeth looked at the item in her hand. Raisins? Why would...? The Goblin shook her head and continued on. Saitama had heard so many fun stories of trick or treating that he had hardly been able to sleep the night before, he was so excited to get a chance to get tons of treats. Sugar was his priority for this festival and he was determined not to be let down. As he arrived at the festival grounds, an older Nightmare waved him over and handed him a basket, instructing the little Freshling that he should use to collect his candy in. Saitama beamed at the Nightmare and thanked her profusely before dashing off to the closest vendor, who laughed at Saitama's enthusiasm, and dropped a trick into his pumpkin bucket. Just then, a little flitterat dropped down from above and curled itself up neatly on Saitama's head. Yui had not overly been looking forward to this event, but now that she was here, the buzz of energy in the crowd sort of infected her and got her more in the feel of things. When she had arrived, someone in a costume had handed her this pumpkin bucket that she was now clutching close to her chest. She wondered if perhaps someone would try to take it from her, but then as she looked around it seemed as though many others had their own buckets, and so she relaxed and decided to follow the example of some of the other freshlings. Yui approached a nearby booth and held her bucket out to the vendor, saying nothing. The Vendor gave Yui a queer look, and then dropped something into her bucket. Azura stood nervously next to the vendor nearest the festival entrance. Corrin had run off suddenly and left her by herself, without so much as a word as to where she was going. The Vendor whose booth she was camping out at tapped her on the shoulder and offered her a pretty looking lollipop and then dropped an adorable plushie into the bucket Azura was clutching in front of her with one small hand. Azura's face lit up with delight and she thanked the kind Vendor, finally deciding to adventure off on her own.
Corrin had run off on her sister, having spotted something shiny on the other side of the festival. After a few moments of running, Corrin had lost track of the shiny thing she had run after in the first place, and had become distracted by one of the vendors whose table was full of delicious looking candy. Approaching the booth, Corrin held up her cauldron bucket and loudly proclaimed "TRICK OR TREAT" at the poor startled Vendor. Scratching his head and laughing nervously, the vendor dropped a bag of candy into Corrin's bucket.

This was probably the first time he'd really gone out and done anything since getting the news about Xeizii. Prometheus had been... foolish, and isolated himself rather than rely on speaking to his friends when he grew frustrated with being unable to see his brother. But, Xeizii was finally at the Academy and they were sharing a dorm together- things were fine... He just... needed to find a way to make his absence up to his friends.
Xeizii had never been trick-or-treating on account of his poor health, so when Ustule asked if they wanted to go with her and the others, they had of course agreed. It was nice to have a theme to work with- Prometheus wasn't exactly good with figuring out costumes... With the ghost theme in mind, he'd just gotten himself a completely white outfit and torn it up a little. He figured his natural skull marking was good enough.
After arriving he quickly spotted Ustule, though before going to join her he stopped at the table to get himself and Xeizii a pail and lantern, then pushed his brother on down to meet her.
"Hello Ustule. I hope we are not too late."
Xeizii was very excited. This was going to be his first big event at the school! Prometheus was not very good with building things, but with his (and one of his friends') assistance, they'd made his wheelchair into a short of makeshift throne. Prometheus had gathered all white clothes for him to wear, and even a face mask to help reduce the chances that he might get sick while they were out.
The pail that Promme got him was immediately settled into his lap, though he also kept a hand on the lantern.. that would come in handy later! He took a moment to look inside his pail (and Promme's) and noted that they had come with a piece of candy each to start off.. How nice! He was pulled out of his inspection when they came to a stop, and Prometheus spoke up.
The dark-eyed litch looked up, eyes landing on Ustule. He smiled slightly behind his mask. "H-Hello...!"

This was perhaps the last year that Odessa would be able to do an event as an Academy student. It was kind of bittersweet after spending so many years in its halls. She knew she was going to miss the place and all the memories she had while she was here. She couldn't help but remember the first Hallow's Eve she went to with Kara, so it was only fitting that the two of them would walk into the fairgrounds together. Kara was a little sad that her best friend was going to be moving to Uni soon, but she was glad that Odessa had chosen to spend Hallow's Eve with her after all. She was happy to see her friend and to be able to gather all the Hallow's Eve goodies like they had last time. She knew the event was going to be great!Treat Points: 1 10/1 - Kara

Kiessi was happy to be able to spend Hallow's Eve with their siblings and mother. This was the first time the whole family had decided to go out for the event. They were holding tight to Lorek and Taboo's hands as they entered the fairgrounds. They wanted to make sure that this event would be as special for them as it was for them the first time they were here! They immediately led the small train toward the bucket line. Lorek still wasn't sure about being in a crowd full of people, but this also wasn't his first event on the school grounds. Kiessi had kept to their word then and kept him safe, so he was sure they could do it again. He was also happy that his mother and little brother had decided to come as well! Banshee was also with them, though she was a little young still to get candy just yet. Lorek was happy that they had all decided to come, it made the stress of the event a little easier for him.Treat Points: 2 10/1 - Kara, Kiessi

Tambre held her small child tight in her arms as they made their way toward the event. Banshee was old enough to be curious about everything, but she wasn't so sure if she wanted to partake just yet. Tambre hoped in time that she'd be willing to, but she was at that stage where she was still a little too afraid to be away from Tambre for too long, but wanted to take part with her older siblings. So Tambre decided to walk her through the event to see if she loosened up at all. So far she just wanted to see everything. Taboo's eyes were large as he looked at everything, there were so many people and things to do! He had never imagined it would be this big and that this was the school he was going to be going to! The whole thing had him pretty excited as he jumped around, looking forward to grabbing one of those shiny buckets from the counter.Treat Points: 3 10/1 - Kara, Kiessi, Tambre

Eliza had accepted the offer, though she hadn't texted back. She hated talking to her phone to make it send a text, and she already was near where Zahneel had said to meet, honestly. She hadn't, originally, been planning to go, mostly because not seeing the world around her made the shrieks and screams far more real in her world, but if Zahneel wanted her to go then she would. Something about Zahneel drew the introvert from her shell, and she didn't quite mind it.
She stood at the back exit of the academy, unsure where to go. Maybe she should text Zahneel ba- !!!! The hybrid let out a shrill yelp as something brushed against her leg. Something fuzzy, and not quite small. She almost fell over, instead feeling the fuzzy thing instantly press against the back of her leg in an attempt to keep her up. What.... was it? Curiosity won over fear as Eliza reached down, trying to gently touch the thing. Her gloved hand flinched when it made contact, but...
Was that a familiar?
"H..hello?" She called faintly to the creature, tensing when it headbutted her in return. What... animal was this? Tomoe genuinely wasn't sure what was happening here. This festival had been a whirlwind, and Maria had offered to take him with her. He had declined, but later regretted it when she vanished and so had Neptune. He had been home alone, and for ONCE he felt a need to remedy that. This was a brand new world to which he was a stranger to. He might as well get accustomed to their traditions.
When he arrived at the academy fairgrounds he just.... stood.... there, eyes wide with a pail in his hands. What was all this? So many sounds! So many people! He jumped as someone approached, dropping something small and white into his pail. Leaning over, he tensed as a rather terrifying paper ghost stared back at him.
Maybe he should go home.
Wait! There they were, Maria and Neptune!!!! Tomoe ran over, tails flicking in relief..... nepsah Maria will be posted in her own separate post! Atlas kept to herself as she walked through the grounds. She had come with her dad, but like most teenagers she had wanted to spend some time by herself, poking at various games in an attempt to win something. Now, she loved her papa! Very much! She loved her siblings too, especially the newest member! But it also meant there was a lot of voices, and a lot happening. Sometimes, she needed a break.
This break took form in her traveling the fairgrounds without a single prize. The baphomet didn't mind too much, tail wiggling absently as she just watched everyone in their costumes. She hadn't dressed up, it wasn't for her, but she enjoyed looking at costumes others wore.
She almost kicked something small and tiny, stopping abruptly and bending over to see.... a sweet little flitterat looking up at her in horror. Gently, she scooped the rat up, giving it a soft kiss on the forehead. The rat scurried down her arm and into her pail, apparently content now that her hooves weren't about to stomp them.
She turned, about to make her way back to her father when instead she slammed right into another green teen. Yelping, she instantly stepped backwards, a hand checking her new rat was okay before her eyes raised to lock on a Hallowed boy before her.
"I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" Maple had decided locking herself in her room to avoid the sounds wasn't a very good idea, honestly. She might as well get used to people, especially since her mother was someone with such power. Strangers visited constantly, and Maple was getting a little too old to use the excuse she was napping. Ava never cared that she wasn't social and didn't greet the guest, but Maple cared.
So, she had gone, without a costume, to the festival, accepting a pail and lantern, as she was sure her eyes would not behave. It wasn't long before a teacher who recognized her dropped a treat into her pail. Maybe she could get her baby brother something.... ... Anyone can interact with her! Cherie tugged her shawl over her shoulders, shivering softly. She loved the cold, honestly. Having a heat allergy made fall so much more inviting. She wasn't too bothered by the fact she hadn't quite gotten anything yet. Just walking around the school grounds was enough fun, especially when it included things like haunted houses and "ghost' tours! She held her lantern close, using it to fight her bad eyesight. ... Anyone can interact with her! Addie was waiting patiently for his date at the entrance, tail swishing softly here and there. He had taken Lapis and Willow to the festival, letting them run off on their own as he settled on the steps. Usually, he'd go with them, but this time he had a special date with someone he thought was fairly incredible, if he could be so blunt.
He gave a sweet smile towards whoever had leaned forward to offer him a treat, tail curling around his hips patiently. Aaah, candy! He'd probably give it to the kids when he got back. Lapis had slipped away the second she could, heading straight for a game stall that had caught her eye. Pop the balloon with bean bags, she could do that. It took her quite some time, but eventually she walked away with the prize she had originally wanted, a slight smile on her features.
Good day. .... Anyone can interact with her! Shiori usually didn't come to these events. Something about people often thinking her lack of arms was illusion magic and thus part of a costume was irritating. Yet, she had been born and decided to come. This was incredibly unlike her, even. The dark terrified her, and usually every corner she'd worry that someone would be there, but extensive therapy had reminded her that, sometimes, you needed to enjoy life. She had moved far from when the thing happened, no one would guess she was here, and she had every right to be as happy as everyone else.
Her enchanted cloak was floating around her, one end holding up her lantern and the other her pail. Some kids ooo'd and aww'd, but she kept her distance when she could. She didn't need kids touching her cape, especially because it was the only way she could pick things up. Shiori passed by a stand giving out candy, not noticing someone had tossed a piece into her pail. ... Anyone can interact with her as long as they do not judge her for her lack of arms. I do not wish to RP her with anyone who may do that. Emelia had decided to come to the festival solely to get things for her kids. Unfortunately, that wasn't working out so well. Drat!

Travesty held onto his sister's hand as they entered the line for the buckets. He knew their mother was behind, watching, but for some reason, she didn't come close. It didn't really bother him all that much as he had gotten kind of use to his mother being strange. Hell, their whole family was a little odd, so what better time to come out than Hallow's eve? Facade tilted her head, her red eyes scanning the inhabitance of the fairgrounds. She made a small sound and inched closer to her brother. "They're all yellow..." She said absentmindedly, in a small thin voice that would probably freak anyone else out that hadn't known her very well. Treat Points: 3 10/1 - Kara, Kiessi, Tambre

This place again. Anara wasn't all that thrilled at being back to the event that started it all. She hated Hallow's Eve, probably for the fact that she wouldn't have been in the place she was if her parents hadn't decided to imbue her stone during this time. What a waste. Maybe she could cause some chaos though... Rorie still wasn't sure why he had come. Nostalgia maybe? Well, that had to be it. He did arrive at the Academy during the Hallow's Eve event, and actually being able to participate was something he had wanted to do when he was little. The whole place was buzzing, and it really wasn't like he was going to get any extra sleep tonight with all this racket anyhow, so he resigned to going and checking it out. It really wasn't all that much of a surprise that his first time (other than the bucket) was a trick though, and a pretty nasty one at that!Treat Points: 3 10/1 - Kara, Kiessi, Tambre

Maria had gone with Neptune to the event, leaving Tomoe, at his request, behind. She had been fairly disappointed, of course, but if he wanted to be on his own that was fine! He just wasn't ready yet. So much had happened to him, and the world was far bigger than anything he had dreamed of, she wasn't about to force him to participate in something as big as the Haunted Hallow's.
Besides, a date with Neptune was never bad!
Strolling along with her boyfriend, Maria couldn't help but host a bright smile on her face. She loved this event! It was absolutely her favorite. She was even more delighted when a sweet ghost charm was handed to her, tucking it gently away in her pail.
Then, a familiar little fox came running by.
Maria, stunned, flapped her wings once, taking Neptune's hand to gently lead him towards Tomoe. Once the group was gathered she instantly began fretting, checking Tomoe was safe before, with a proud smile she reached over to give her housemate a hug.
"You came!" She cheered softly, squeezing his hand gently. "Which is good, because I saw some delicious candied apples over there. Neptune, Tomoe, do you want to come with me?"

Rolo had wandered off to try and get treats from a teacher, failing and returning just as Lolo got themselves a lollipop. He was jealous! So so jealous! Instantly, the fallen puffed up, wings flapping softly. That wasn't fair! She got candy before him! Well.... well he'd show her.
"I'm goin' to get somethin' even better." The competitive child called, wandering off towards a stall. Unfortunately, when you're a shy nerd that meant you practically wilted when a stranger who ran the booth glowered at you.
"Oh, get out of here. I'm shutting down for the day. Just take this and scram." Oh!!! Rolo cowered slightly, hand reached out to accept something soft and plushie. It took him all of five seconds to recover, popping back up into action and running to Lolo to show his toy off.
"Look! Isn't it cute?!"

Jessie wasn't one for festivals, but he also didn't see the harm in going, really. There was only one Haunted Hallow's a year! He might regret it if he didn't go! When he arrived he didn't really see anything too exciting, but... he already made the trek here. Might as well stay.
Unfortunately, he didn't expect to bump into someone. LUCKILY, this someone was one of the few people he knew. He didn't notice the (disgusting) tooth dropped into his pail.
"Ah, Rhulain... it's good to see you...." And it was! Despite how often his voice trailed off.
