In his admiration of the spider plush he'd been given, Hamish had momentarily forgotten where he was. Just as he was raising his eyes, he saw the green haired girl about to collide with him and opened his mouth, too late, to warn her. As she collided with him, he automatically reached out a hand to hopefully catch her before she hit the ground.
Fortunately, she seemed to have better balance than he did and only stumbled a bit. He saw her tend to her own rat and quickly checked on his, relieved that the little guy hadn't fallen or been hurt. He did, however, have to wonder how the gross pack of gum had made it's way into his pail. Had the girl...? No, that was silly. Oh, right. The girl.
"No, it's not your fault! I should have been paying better attention. I'm okay, are you okay? Is your rat okay? Umm... I'm Hamish and I really am so sorry about this? Can I do anything to make it up to you?"
Left unsaid was the fact that Hamish thought the girl was very pretty and he hoped that his idiot self hadn't spoiled her night.

The moment the bird skull clattered into her pail, Nepheline found herself wondering if she'd done something wrong. The inclusion of a little plush bat did not reassure her. Stepping from the booth, she kept staring at the skull. At least it was a clean skull. But first chance, she was going to find a weird, artistic type and try to pawn the thing off on them.
Quote:
"Good toss, kid," the booth demon smiled down at Paladin before handing over a sugar skull that almost perfectly matched the blue in the Hallowed grimm's pelt. "Enjoy and thanks for stoppin' by!"
Grinning his thanks, Paladin stepped aside for the next player, pleased with his win. He became even more pleased as the chimera at the next booth over tossed a sphinx plush his way with a wink and grin.
"I saw that. It was a good toss. HAve one on the house, kid."
Tucking sugar skull and plush carefully into his pail, Paladin felt his tail wagging frantically. This was more fun than he'd had in a while.

Smiling as she accepted a tiny ghost, Jazilyn dropped it into her pail and then looked around at the other booths in the area. Her parents were taking a little break and Gilby was with them. Well, she didn't feel tired enough to need a rest, but she was kind of hungry. Maybe she'd go take a break anyway and see if she couldn't get her mom to share some candy corn.

Toddling along with her group, Dalie was much better pleased by their reception at the next house. Amidst cries of "Oh, how cute!", everyone was given cute chocolate bats. Dalie's own bat seemed to be white chocolate. Yes, this was much better than rocks that made you sad. And she'd never tried white chocolate before, either. This night was definitely shaping up.

After the horrifying puppet, anything seemed amazingly wonderful. And, Talia thought, that included the cute little pumpkin bracelet she'd won at the fishing game booth. Slipping it onto her wrist, the fey smiled and wandered over to the next game.
Was it their unlucky day? Kel sighed as they eyed the gross candy that someone had just dropped into their pail. First skulls, now icky candy. Well, at least they had their new wisp friend to help ease the sting of disappointment.

Okay, Zella definitely did not enjoy grabber games that left her with nothing but old, stale candies. Still, she accepted her prize with grace, if only to show Clarity a good example, and moved on with her little girl.

Without thinking, Galatea had popped one of the candies she'd just been given into her mouth. After one attempt at chewing, she found a dark, out of the way corner and delicately spit the thing out. After making sure she still had all of her teeth, she headed back into the crowds.
Quote:
As they approached the next house, Clarity indicated that she wanted to try this herself. Once Zella set her on the ground, she took a deep breath and toddled up to the door, knocking carefully.
Moments later, the small baphomet was all smiles as she walked back to her guardian and showed the goblin what she'd been given. Clarity smiled happily as Zella admired the ghost and bat plush. This house had more than made up for the first.

Sighing sadly, Gelato walked away from the house she'd just tried trick or treating at. The green gummie poo just made her kind of queasy to think about. Maybe she'd give it to Sorbet and make him eat it.
Brightening at the thought, the bakaneko nearly missed the flash of bright pink sitting on the garden wall of the next house. Looking up, she saw a cat plush and seized it. It couldn't be lost if it had been sitting so nicely on the wall. Maybe someone had left it there for her!

As Karamella wandered away from the house she'd just visited, she sighed. Raisins. Who thought raisins were a good treat to hand out? Nevermind that she actually really liked raisins... it was the principle of the thing.
As she wandered, looking for her adopted son, Prague paused briefly. Was that...? Suddenly smiling, she quickly turned and headed away. She'd just spotted Hamish talking to another teen and decided that this was something she didn't need to interfere with.
"C'mon pup," she murmured to the fennekit trailing her. "Let's go home. Hammie'll be fine. I'll just text that work is taking longer than I thought."

Breeze had decided to get herself something nice and sugary to snack on. And the super pretty cotton candy she'd been given fit the bill nicely. Honestly, it was so pretty she felt a little bad about eating it, but she was hungry!
As she sat and ate, a nightmare carrying a basket of plushes walked by, paused and with a smile, handed over a spider.
"Doesn't look like you've been having much luck, honey. Here. This should help make the night a bit brighter for you."
With a squeal, Breeze took the plush and hugged it. When she looked up to thank the nice nightmare, they were gone. Vanished into the crowd.

All things considered, Calla was thoroughly enjoying zerself. A nice dryad had give zer a caramel apple and as ze sat eating the sticky, gooey treat, ze couldn't help but feel happy.

Miju had never heard of winning a coupon before. But as she drew out a slip of paper from a jar, she could see why they'd do things this way. You couldn't exactly shove cotton candy into a jar!
Taking her coupon to the nearest cotton candy cart, she handed the paper over and was given a gloriously colorful cone of spun sugar. As she walked away, she tore a shred of the stuff away and popped it into her mouth. So. Good.

Staring aghast at the glass eyeball rolling around in her bucket, Ezym began to wonder which deity she'd offended enough to make her haul thus far so terrible.
Well. She'd show them! She wasn't giving up until she got something nice!

As Tai explored, she was a little surprised when she paused to get a drink and felt something warm bump into her leg. Holding in the desire to yell and jump, she looked down and saw a mutated vespercat rubbing against her leg. Setting her pail to the side, she knelt down and carefully extended a hand to the cat. And when the cat shoved it's face into her palm with a purr, the hybrid smiled.
"Well, hello there, pretty thing."
Since the cat showed no signs of wanting to leave her side, Tai scooped it up and retrieved her bucket. And frowned. Where had that locket come from? Concluding that someone must've tossed it in while she was talking to the cat, Tai shrugged and went with it.
Lolo heard her brother's boast and giggled. While she was waiting for him to come back, she tried her luck at the booth next to the lollipops. As she spun a wheel, she could hear Rolo returning. Turning slightly to admire his prize, she nodded and smiled.
"Oh, that's very cute!"
She would have said more, except the nightmare running the wheel game tapped her shoulder and handed her a neat glowy necklace and a bat plush like her brother's only in different colors. Thanking him, she took her prizes and ran over to Rolo to show him.
"Look what the nice man gave me for winning! Now we both have cutie-bats!"

Enjoying herself hugely, Proserpina thanked the imp who was selling lollipops and turned away with a rather lovely one in her hand. It would go into her pail and she'd enjoy it later.

For a brief moment, Uhane wondered why the baphomet lady handing over her prize had put on gloves to do so. Once the pretty little rock hit her palm, she knew. Quickly dropping the thing into her pail, she made a note to get some gloves of her own. As she walked away, she spied a bat plush and scooped it up. Since it didn't seem to belong to anyone, she claimed it for herself.

This was already turnign into a bit of a letdown. Mollie sighed as she lost the next few games she'd tried. At the next booth, she managed to win a nice red and black bat, but as she turned to put it in her pail, she saw that someone had dropped a horrible looking tooth inside.
What was wrong with people?

At the next booth, Kiku was somewhat relieved when the imp in charge dropped a small box of raisins into her pail. They were disappointing, but not in a way that made her question her life choices. As she thanked the imp and moved on, she paused by a box of odd plushes. They didn't look like anything she'd ever seen before. And since the box had a Take One sign attached, she did as the sign instructed.
Watching the next brightly colored booth with wide eyes, Tansy giggled as the imp in charge tickled her cheek. She didn't even mind that he put a box of raisins in the pail her mom carried for her. And even better than the tickle and raisins was the bunny plush that followed. It was okay that it was missing an eye. That just made it special.

As Serenity trick or treated, she sighed a little as she was given a popcorn hand. She hated popcorn. Still, she thanked the people who'd given it to her and left. Dropping it into her bucket, she wondered which house to try next. As she thought, she heard a faint rustling coming from her pail. Peeking inside, she saw a tiny flitterat trying to open the popcorn hand.
"Oh! D'you want some popcorn? You can have it."
Moving quickly, she removed rat and popcorn from her bucket and sat down. Setting the rat on her shoulder, she opened the 'hand' and began to feed the rat popcorn piece by piece.

A familiar voice distracted Rhulain from her new pet. Glancing up, she visibly brightened as she saw Jessie approach.
"My prince! How are you? I wasn't expecting to see you out here."
Though now that he was, she wasted no time in getting to her feet and smiling brightly at the other hybrid. As she did, the cat slipped off, only to return moments later with a sugar skull and bat plush which it dropped at Rhulain's feet, meowing hopefully.
Cimara took his family out to the Hallows eve festival, he had Micari, Kaimana, and Natsumi with him. Though he fully expected his eldest daughter to run off to do other things by herself before the festival was over. Cimara got a lantern for himself and helped his kids get treat buckets. Then Cim started looking for games to play as his family ran in different directions. He figured his family would meet up here and there. Cim was looking around for his wife Aqua glow and his other kids. Cimara picked a strength game, he found it amusing since it was really about hitting the mark right. Cim hit it and watched the metal piece rise and hit. Winning the top prize. Cim picked a strange little doll and a Mutated Revenant which he wanted to give to his wife as a gift. Now he just needed to find her.
Kaimana picked out a red treat bucket and he waved to his dad as he ran off to go trick or treating with his sister Micari. Looking around for his other brothers and sisters. He didn't think Natsumi would stay with them, since she was a junior and likely wanted to go find a girlfriend or boyfriend ewww. Kai smiled brightly as he said "Trick or Treat!!" He picked out a big candy bar. He put it in his bucket for later.
Micari chose a purple cauldron since she was dressed up as witch for the festival, she was so excited to be out trick or treating with her brother Kai who was dressed up as a famous musician of course, so silly she thought, he could have been a tiger or something, but nope. Micari went up to the first place with Kai and said trick or treat as well. She picked out a yummy looking thing of cotton candy, she started to eat as she walked along with her brother Kai to go look for other things to do at the festival.
Natsumi smiled seeing her family so happy, she picked up an orange treat bucket just in case she won any cute prizes she wanted to store somewhere. Natsumi walked around looking at everything, she attempted a ring toss game. Only to miss and be given a box of raisins. It didn't bother Natsumi at all so she continued on, eating her snack and looking for another game. She found one about balance and smiled. It was a rope balance climb. There was a rope bridge positioned over some hay for anyone who fell. Natsumi climbed on carefully and moved carefully to ring the bell. Natsumi smiled she climbed down and chose pretty pink and black spider.
Caron smiled brightly this was his first Hallows eve in the bellow, he was hoping to spend it was Jac, and first thing was first. Collect gifts for her and figure out how to ask her if she would be his girlfriend. This seemed like a good time to ask, all the fun and merriment of the holiday. He was really excited he looked around, his wings tucked against his back. Caron chose a bean bag toss game. There was board looked like a jack o lantern. Caron smiled as he lined up his throw and tossed it into the hole. Caron picked out a cute bracelet he wanted to give to Jac.
Seoul: 2 Ooh! What a shiny little trinket! Seoul, looking up to her guardian, beamed with pride!
Gen: 19 At least taking Seoul out was an excuse to do this as well, and even a discarded plushie wasn't free from xir grasp!
Kraven: 15 Well...He wanted candy, but got a fox...interesting. He'd pass it off as soon as he was done, he didn't really need another...Maybe that writer would enjoy it.
Tegan: 1 Oh no...Oh no, she couldn't stand dolls! Was..was she being a bad girl...?
Asoraen: 11 Well...He got a rock.
Daya: 3 "I got a rock!" the musical superstar exclaimed excitedly! When she wasn't looking though, a plushie was plopped into her bucket as well. Oh, she'd have a surprise later!
Kenith: 1 ...Maybe it'd be a good skin moisturizer?
Sign was still out trick or treating, he ended up being given a pile of strange bones, curious really curious. Sign looked at them wondering if they were real. Would this imp really give freshlings bones for hallows eve?? Sign looked at the purple and green imp, maybe that was a kinda crazy look in their eyes, so maybe the bones were real. Sign's thank you was real, as she thanked the imp for the strange hallows eve trick, all the tricks and treats were a lot of fun. Sign put the bones into his treat bucket and then started looking around for other freshlings to talk to or go trick or treating with. He was getting a little lonely wandering about by himself.
The energy of the festival was causing Hikari to feel slightly buzzed from it all. There was so much excitement around her that it was hard to decide where to go and what to do next. Tentatively, she wandered up to the nearest booth and gave a shy smile to the vendor. The vendor looked at her, confused at her lack of a collection bucket, and thrust one towards her, while dropping something inside of it. Just as Hikari was turning to leave after thanking the vendor, something ran out of the shadows and began winding itself around her legs... a new friend?
Having carefully consumed the box of raisins she had been given, Elspeth continued her wandering through the festival grounds, keeping any eye out for anything of interest. Nearly on accident, Elspeth found herself standing in front of the booth of a very cheerful looking vendor, who immediately thrust out some candy floss for the Goblin. Shrugging, Elspeth smiled at the vendor and took the treat he offered.
Saitama ran excitedly to the next vendor, thinking only of what treat he might possibly get next. The Flitterat seemed unbothered by Saitama's running, as it had found quite the nice spot to sleep on his head. The vendor at the booth Saitama had run to laughed at the Freshling, and tossed him a candy apple.
Yui stared around, the various decorations constantly distracting her from visiting each vendor. It was hard to maintain focus on any one thing, but somehow Yui made it to the next vendor. The vendor smiled down at the little freshling and dropped two things into her bucket! Yui beamed up at the vendor before dashing off to look at her prizes.
Azura, quite pleased with her current haul, was filled with some strange confidence as she approached the next vendor. Holding out her pink bucket, Azura grinned happily at the vendor, who placed what looked like two dolls into her bucket. Two dolls? Really? Azura gleefully ran off, not quite realizing what it was she had been given.
Corrin had seen here sister, Azura, run by and some how not notice Corrin standing there, so Corrin felt like she was okay to keep going on her own. Hurrying on to the next vendor before Azura could come and drag her away, Corrin nearly danced up to the booth, holding out her pail.
Gwen was curious about the whole hallows eve festival. The first game Gwen played that evening she lost and was given a strange sad locket, she was curious what caused the locket to be sad, was it magic?? Like a spell on the locket for the spooky hallows eve festival? Were their spirits attached to the locket? She would have to ask Turnip later, since he knew more about ghosts than she did. Then Gwen came across a beautiful vespercat with glowing eyes, Gwen picked up the lovely familiar deciding to take it home with her. Gwen looked the vespercat over curious, glowing eyes and only one tail interesting. Hallows eve was so interesting.
