Sigiriya of Ida
HP: 63-14-15=34/75HP
Action: Physical Attack - Throwing rocks
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 1d10 damage = 6

Sig balked at the sight of the oil creature. It was huge and nasty. Like all the oil spills in the world coalesced into one mass and gained sentience. Just wrong on so many levels. At least he wasn't alone and this time he knew what he was facing... what was at risk. He remembered just how he felt when apathy took over and he didn't want to feel that way again. Never again.

With this anger growing in him he stooped down to grab a handful of amination, missing the thing flinging out an arm of oil to shower everyone in polluted, gunky water. Choking and unable to see clearly with the liquid in his eyes the squire lashed his arm out, releasing the stones at just the right arc to land hits even as he scrubbed his face with his sleeve, doing little more then just smearing the stuff over his skin. His mask was long gone but it didn't really matter, he was still coughing even with it on. Sadly the oil slick seemed to take offense to his aim and set these annoying insects on him, and anyone else it seemed was attacking it.

"Bloody hell!" He yelped even as he started to beat the things off of him. Swatting around him with what was left of his shawl. He had even gotten in a few smacks with his staff. It didn't help much since he was soon covered in bites or pinches or whatever they were. It was bad. He looked like he had been rolling around in trash and mud only to be swarmed by mosquitos.

Even worse were the whispers. The quiet contemplation of sleep and naps and how much easier things would be. He had a toddler at home, wouldn’t it be nice to take a long nap without being disturbed? Just lay down and close your eyes. No one would mind. No one would notice. He didn’t need to fight. The others would take care of it.

Tortuga of Jupiter
HP: 46-14-15=17HP
Action: Direct Magic Damage - Zapping with Electric Ring
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 2 damage = 12

Tortuga scanned the crowd, noting a few familiar faces... sort of since he recognized quite a lot of people if only from passing them during other type missions. Or at least he felt like they were familiar. He never was fantastic at that. But that was neither here nor there since he was looking for a few people in particular.

Purple eyes quickly picked out the purple clad squire, absently noting that he didn't look any worse for wear. He soon spotted the other three, since Vimi and Rhea were with him at the smog bridge they weren't hard to find but Palm was a bit more of a 'where's Waldo' moment. Tortuga was about to call out to them when he suddenly got drenched by nasty water. It wasn't quite sewage water but it sure as s**t smelled like it. He desperately wanted a decontamination shower but instead, after ripping off his mask and trying to wipe his face with the driest part of the scarf, the squire knelt down and once again channeled magic through his electric ring.

He was further away so it took longer for the little zap to travel but he didn't let up. The redhead let the magic flow as long as he could, even when the swarm of insects started to attack he still let the ring continue to send pulse after pulse of electricity. At least until he couldn't take it any more. He finally started to drive the bugs away, even as the darkness started to coalesce around him. It formed into figures. People crying and wailing, sobbing and wondering why he didn't try harder. Why didn't he save them? They could have been saved. Why didn't he? What good was he? If he couldn't save them what use was he to anyone?

There was no point in fighting, no point in even breathing since he couldn't even save them. They reached out to him and their cries turned to cold disgust. Reminding him of every time he was just a little too late, a bit too slow, a hair too unprepared. They cursed at him and told him he wasn't worth keeping around and he wasn't worth the air he was breathing. They reminded him that it was just easier to give up. He had done so with them, why not with himself?

Tortuga tried to focus. Tried to shake the voices out of his head, he even tried to swipe at the shadows but they weren't there. Oh no, they were in his head. All in his head... never not in his head. With his breath catching he clutched at his ears and tried to block them out. He knew it wasn't real. He knew that it was all the chaos seeping into them but even knowing this didn't stop him from wondering if maybe, just maybe, the voices were right.

It wasn't like he hadn't had those same thoughts haunt him on other nights.

for mention

Electric Ring:
The stone in this ring is a vivid, bright yellow and the ring grants the spark of Electricity. When the ring is equipped, the wearer can be in any form and will have the passive ability to function as a small emergency battery that has an undying charge. When wielded it is just strong enough to recharge a phone or other small electronic. It is not strong enough to short circuit anything or cause damage. Its true power shines while in powered form, though! Striking any inorganic surface with the ring will send an electrical charge through it up to ten feet away. The spark is just enough to startle the first person it reaches but it is not strong enough to cause any lasting damage. The target may feel a tingling sensation but all symptoms should fade within thirty seconds. While there is no limit to how many times the ring can be used, only one spark can be released at a time. The ring cannot be used directly on any organic material.

Sailor Procyon of Liminality
HP: 38 - 14 = 24 - 15 = 9
Action: Indirect Damage (Basic rank magic) and oh no bad time
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 1 = 11 DMG
Boss HP: ???

It didn't look good and it didn't feel good, there wasn't a single thing about the sludgy mass of whatever it was that had gathered up what was left of what they'd just defeated. Even the bit of fabric he'd been using to cover his face wasn't helping anymore and when it lashed out with that toxic water, Procyon ended up inhaling some of it as it soaked him.

Pollution...

Toxic...

and it's in me...

Coughing and hacking, he felt sick, sicker than he had since coming to Earth. It had to be stopped, even as he wheezed out the name of his magic between the coughing he was doing to try to get that pollution out of his body. It had to get out, he knew what it had done to everyone on his homeworld even if he hadn't been effected as much. Throwing aside his makeshift mask, the fresh onslaught of that polluted stench hit him and had him gagging. His skin felt like it was on fire from it all, even more so than when the hot sun of the Earth beat down upon him in summer.

Just as he was able to keep from heaving completely, the sound of buzzng wings had him looking around. There were so many of them, almost like a moving cloud of angry bees that were warped by all this. They pelted him, attacking and wearing him out. This was worse than the zombies and he was so... tired.

Blinking as he swayed, glimpses of something started to float by, things that he thought he remembered. Someone he thought he remembered. But it couldn't be them, not unless that vault had worked. All of them, each and every one of the people who had decided to stay below... If they were here, then... what of the others?

Sleep

Lay down

Rest....

It sounded... so familiar but as he moved forward towards them he stumbled and crashed into a small senshi. He didn't even really feel it as he stared at the council, the ones who had closed the vault door on his arm. They stood there and pleaded for him to rest and how could he not? Using magic again wasn't as easy as it had been in the past and it was wearing him out, maybe enough to take a short rest.

Sailor Erinome of Bombyx
HP: 39- 14 = 25/50
Action: Healing Procyon and Dunwich mildly having a bad time
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 2 = 12 HP healed
Boss HP: ???

There was so much going on and so many senshi and knights fighting the newest thing to appear. Getting hit again, Erinome found himself thrown against that knight from before and then another senshi like himself. Neither of them looked well after they'd tried attacking the thing and it hurt to see everyone else getting banged up.

Rubbing his hands together as he tried to shake off that whispering voice that called for him to rest, he spoke up enough for his magic to work. "Silken Salve!" Even if it made him cough, he hoped it would do enough to help the two he'd bumped into although he wasn't sure what he could do to fight the thing. All those insects that came out to attack whoever attacked it kept pulling his attention away and towards all the people getting injured.

He wanted to help them all, even though he knew he really couldn't. There were only so many people he could heal at a time and on top of that with it being so long sense he'd done this, he wasn't sure how much more he could do before he would take the advice that seemed to be whispered on the wind.

It hadn't been long in the grand scheme of things since he'd woken up... maybe after helping more of them he might lay down for a few. Nodding to himself, he looked over the knight again. "Are you okay?"

It will do nothing for more serious or internal wounds though.

Reims, Squire of Ganymede
HP: 37/75 - 14 = 23
Action: Hallucinating.
Damage: N/A

Reims coughed and sputtered. He lifted a hand to wipe the filth from his face, scrubbed the grime from his eyes. Yvoire had been knocked back against him, and Reims held his arm out to keep him upright as he tried to assess what was going on around them.

The monster had already started attacking, but that wasn’t surprising.

What was surprising was all of the inaction.

All of the conversations people around him seemed to be having.

“There you are,” a gentle voice said, and Reims froze. Standing in front of him, with blonde hair and blue eyes that would have made angels jealous, was his mother. She was holding out a hand to him.

“You’ve been working too hard, baby. Why didn’t you tell me you were out saving people? And planets? Riker, I’m so proud of you,” she said to him, her voice sincere and warm.

Reims stared. He couldn’t breathe. This wasn’t real--

“You’re not real--”

Was there an echo? He could have sworn he just heard Evie say that as well but he was too distracted by the trill of laughter from the woman in front of him.

“You’re tired. Come home and let me make you some french onion soup. That’s your favorite, isn’t it? We can relax and you can tell me about school and your friends.”

It couldn’t be real. It was too good to be true. He didn’t want to break out of this dream or illusion or whatever it was, though. He wanted -- desperately -- for his mother to look at him like that. To tell him she was proud of him.

She knew what his favorite food was! She knew he wanted so much to tell her about his friends and everything he’d been learning about in school!

Maybe…

Maybe this could be real.

The pain? The suffering? He was used to that. He could see through those illusions. But to be wanted…?

How could he deny that, when that was all he’d ever wanted?

Super Sailor Surtur
HP: 59/75 - 14 - 15 = 30
Action: Doing his best to ignore the hallucinations. Trying to get Ymir to focus. Trying to speak to Daedalus.
Damage: (10 + 2d4) 16

Surtur followed Ymir’s example and attacked with whatever strength he could still muster. The toxicity in the air and heaviness of Chaos was suffocating. He hadn’t expected the creature to attack so quickly in return, and wasn’t able to defend himself as easily as he had previously.

They needed to end this fight as quickly as possible.

But there was a problem.

Too many were staring into nothing.

“Eld, it’s hopeless,” a sad voice said. Surtur refused to look. Instead, he stared straight ahead at the creature in front of them. “You’ve been fighting for so long. Just come home. We miss you. It’s okay-- it’s okay to let go.”

A quiet laugh, although humorless, escaped. He knew he was stubborn. He knew he’d pushed and pushed when everything around him fell. Countless nights -- unbearable days -- restless, sleepless, pushing on and on, because --

He had to. He wanted to.

Ymir, stay with me,” he said, maybe louder than he intended. He reached to grab hold of Ymir’s arm, then once he was certain he had a grip on it, he slid his hand down to take Ymir’s.

Daedalus, the Chaos here is quite cruel,” he called to his friend. He knew he was close, but dared not look away from the creature. He didn’t want to lock eyes with any illusion or hallucination and be drawn in like a moth to flame.

“Are you well enough to proceed?”

They had to…

Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Abandon Hope

As if stumbling upon a site of total destruction, ash flutters through the air around Surtur’s target, making it difficult for them to see or breathe. Surtur’s target is hit with a heavy wave of depression and stronger feelings of emptiness and hopelessness. Everything around them appears as though it has lost all color saturation, or has been covered in ash or dust from decay. There is no physical damage, but the attack can cause nausea and dizziness. It lasts for thirty five (35) seconds and can be used two (2) times. It affects enemies within a twelve (12) foot radius around Surtur and the magic will follow him if he moves, but the effects end if the target moves out of the radius.

Lucien - Cat Form
HP: 33/50 - 14 = 19
Action: On Alastor’s shoulder.
Damage: N/A

Lucien perched carefully on Devyn’s shoulders. He had good balance, so didn’t mind if Alastor had to lean over to help others up, or rush into the battle.

An irritated growl from deep in his throat escaped when the polluted water washed over everyone. There was no avoiding it, and he didn’t blame Alastor for not being able to stop it completely. If it were up to Lucien, he would have shielded Alastor from the filth.

“Something’s wrong,” he observed, watching as many of the others rushed forward and attacked, only for strange insects to burst forth and attack in return.

“Use caution when attacking,” he warned, because he doubted he would be able to stop Alastor from trying to fight, but he wasn’t looking forward to whatever it was these creatures could do to him in return. There was only so much Lucien could do with his claws.

But there was more concern to be had. Many were stalled, talking to the air, staring into nothing and frozen.

Even he felt strange, although perhaps his lack of memories and the person he cared about most was just below his paws helped fend off the worst of whatever was ailing others.

Encke, Transcended Eternal Senshi of Plasma
HP: 68/100
Action: AOE Healing magic cast
Healing Done: 10+2d4 = 13
Boss HP: ???

Alright. The monsters they were all dealing with seemed to have been mostly taken care of. If they could take down the ...

Oh. The remaining monsters got absorbed into the sludge.

Lovely.

Encke took a defensive position, standing in front of the other three he had been walking with--Basiluzzo, Cepheus, and Daphne--as if that would defend them from any further damage from the tendril and the burst of oil coming from the monster. He closed his mouth and cringed back when he was hit by some of the oil himself, shuddering when he realized how much that hurt. He glanced over his shoulder to see if he could calculate where everyone was in relation to him.

Alright. Fine.

He could handle this.

Encke lifted his hands, concentrating on the magic his homeworld had gifted him a couple of years ago. Healing the damage that had just been done was probably the first step.

They could hit it with attacks once they recovered just a bit. From the way some were reacting, he was fairly sure they needed it. What was everyone seeing?

Sailor Cernunnos
HP: 29 - 14 = 15
Action: overwhelmed by the attacks from the monster, trying not to give in
DamageDone: -

The monster they'd been fighting finally retreated and Cernunnos felt a flare of hope. They'd done it! They'd finally beaten the monsters and won! They could go home now, leave this awful place... but there was a creeping anxiety in the back of his mind that refused to leave.

This wasn't the end...

What was left of the monster crept away to join up with the others of its kind, and together, they formed something bigger, something worse. They'd only been the fore guard, not the real threat, and the senshi quailed as he realized the fight had barely begun. Dark, stinking water slapped him and threw him back, leaving him writhing on the ground as he gagged and coughed, frantically wiping it from his face, eyes and mouth.

Gods, it was so bad...

Shhh, shhh, its okay... I've got you. It was a familiar voice and Cernunnos felt himself seize up at it, strangling a sob. "Bron?" He whimpered, blinking bleerily up at a figure he hadn't seen in ages. Not since the chaos had taken hold, and everything had turned into a nightmare.

The stout man smiled that familiar smile and reached for him, as if helping him to clean his face, rag in hand. How many times had Bron done that for him? The other priests, for the most part, had treated him as the scion he was, but Bron had seen more than that. He had seen a young boy, taken from his family and thrust into a role too big and heavy for him. He had his own children at home, six of them actually, and whatever it was in Bron that had made him a good father for them had recognized the lost child in Wisteria.

Its alright, you can stop fighting. They don't need you, they can handle the rest.

"But... I'm supposed to be helping..." Cernunnos whispered, even though he fully agreed with his old caretaker.

You aren't a fighter, you were never meant to be one. What can you do? You'll only get yourself hurt, and we can't have that, can we? Our people need you. Just let the ones who know what they're doing, do the fighting. You are meant for greater things.

The senshi shuddered as he glanced back at the others, watching them so bravely attack the boss monster. Bron was right, as much as he both hated to and wanted to admit to himself. He wasn't a fighter. His time in Destiny City had made that clear. But what good was he, then? No one needed him there... all his people were gone. There was no one to care for him any more, and no one to seek out the only power he'd ever really had.

"I... I don't know what to do..." Cernunnos whispered, struggling up onto his knees.

Rest. You've done enough.

Eternal Sailor Alastor
HP: 54/100
Action: Lucien is on his shoulder, probably near Selinur, using his magic on the monster
Damage Done: (Indirect Super Magic; 10 + 2d4 ) = 13
Boss HP: ???

Garbage had been bad enough, but now the monster was bigger, and stronger, and more vile. Though he couldn’t see the rotting debris, he smelled it in the water as it splashed over him and the others around him. He tried to spare Lucien and himself the worst of the polluted water by raising a sleeve but all it did was soak into the fabric and splash over them anyway. Poor Lucien. Alastor at least had the luxury of powering down after this.

He’d have to break out the good soaps for Lucien when they got out of here.

It was not an if, it was most certainly a when. Though the Chaos seemed to be beating down on the group already, Alastor was resilient. Or, stubborn.

He heard Lucien’s warning–trusted the warning. The Mauvian was clever and observant and would not make suggestions he would not stand behind. He never had to worry about Lucien leading him astray.

When Lucien said something was wrong, he knew something was wrong.

But then, Chaos in general was wrong. This whole thing was wrong.

Alastor did not excel with caution. He preferred to strike hard and strike fast. He could afford to throw caution to the wind; he was sturdy. He had good allies. Ephesus might not be here to heal him, and Sessrumnir might be home sick, but Alastor had still lived most of his life without them–or without backup in general.

Friends and strangers alike already seemed like they were suffering. Alastor could not claim that he did not feel the call of something but he forced himself to stay focused on this problem first. He’d spent centuries with voices tempting him softly from the dark recesses of his mind.

It was easy to tune them out, most of the time.

They were getting louder, here.

“I’ll be careful,” he promised, so he did not run forward and attack the oily monster with his hands. Could it really tell who was casting what magic? If he was discrete, would it matter? Would it know?

He couldn’t stand idly by.

“Hold on,” he said, and without speaking or acting unusual, he used his magic–only to immediately find that discretion offered no reprieve from the insects. They were upon him instantly, but at least he could shield Lucien from them.

Alastor had made the decision to attack; he could deal with the consequences. Lucien shouldn’t have to.

“Sorry, I had to try,” he insisted. “The faster we get out of here, the faster we can get home.” Or, really, the faster everyone else could be freed from this suffering. Some of them were already not looking very good.

He hadn't spoken into the earring since he arrived really, because Michael was supposed to be sleeping, but he was certain that the waves of nervousness in the back of his head now probably weren't just his imagination. 'Go back to sleep, Michael. I'm fine. I got trash water on me and now some bugs won't leave me alone. A problem of my own doing, but overall everything is going very well. Already thinking about what I'll be making to snack on when we get home.'

Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Absence

Alastor speaks the name of his attack and every enemy nearby will feel a complete absence of hope, replaced instead with a strong sensation of despair. The area feels thick with gloom and misery and targets may feel as if there is suddenly an unbeatable obstacle they have no chance to overcome. Targets may feel absolute hopelessness and they may become acutely aware of the hardships and loss in their life. The magic can make someone feel fatigued or physically exhausted and can be disorienting and emotionally draining. The magic lasts for thirty five seconds and has two uses. It affects all enemies within a twelve foot radius of Alastor and the magic will follow him if he moves, but the effects end if the character moves out of radius.
